At galvarys' warning, elyra stood well away from the piled junk. the dragon took a breath deep enough for elyra to see his indigo chest plates expand. for a moment galvarys held his breath, and so did elyra.

elyra's voice startled galvarys. he jumped and flared his wings, dropping the circlet. his spines all stood on end. galvarys swung his head, hissing at elyra. "don't do that!" elyra winced. "sorry!" elyra slipped past him and picked up the tiara.

elyra took two breaths for every one the slumbering dragon took. once she could see, elyra slipped through the dragon's sleeping chamber.
