#4 of Clueless

Welcome to chapter four of Clueless! It hasn't been proofread yet, so feel free to point out any mistakes :P Also, thanks to everyone who's liked/faved/commented so far! And now, the long awaited (not really) date between Rob and Daren is finally upon us! Only it's sorta not, because I like to unnecessarily drag things out :D Hope you enjoy, and remember to leave a comment telling me what you think, or just your thoughts. Favorites and votes are nice too.

It's also recently come to my attention that there's actually a movie called "Clueless" that also just so happened to be a romantic high school comedy... I didn't know, I swear! D: It is a good movie though, so check it out if you have time XP

Valleyview Apartments was only about a ten minute drive away from my house, but that was still enough time for me to start daydreaming about my date with Daren (not that you should be daydreaming while you're driving, kids, you could run somebody over).

Was this just a fun night out for him and an excuse to get some free food, or was he seriously romantically interested in me? Could that even be possible? I just met the guy recently...

Oh glob, was he going to want to make out with me at all tonight?

That usually happens during dates, doesn't it? Kissing and shit... Was I really okay with him being my first?

I tried picturing myself and the hot Rottie making out: our bodies pressed against each other in a passionate hug, his lips locking with mine, our tongues exploring the insides of each other's mouths...

Well, 'Lil Robby (i.e. my dick) was certainly fine with it.

I popped out of my own perverted inner world when my GPS told me to take a right to arrive at my destination: Valleyview apartment complex four. Oh, did I mention that I fucking love GPS? I was so bad with directions, I could hardly make my way from my house to the bus stop, and you only had to turn down one street to do that!

I found a parking spot right by the entrance no problem, but when I got out and took a good look at the building, honestly, it looked kind of subpar. I mean, it wasn't terribly rundown or anything, but it looked really unimpressive and basic. It was a four story complex with a mildly unattractive looking grey paint job, perfectly rectangular and symmetrical with plain double sliding windows and those dinky white balconies that nobody ever used for each apartment.

Gosh, these apartments seemed like the kind of places college students on a budget would choose to live, not a family. I guess Daren was telling the truth about not having any money if this is the kind of place he lived in...

But still, this didn't change the fact that he was hot and that I was going on a date with him. Wait, what time was it? Oh God, I wasn't late was I? I checked on my cellphone.

6:52 P.M.

Huh, wasn't I running late or something? How did I get here eight minutes early? I shook off the thought as I entered the (thankfully unlocked) main entrance and found my way up the stairs to room 207 right around the first corner to the left. I brought my paw up to knock on the door, but then I froze up. Come on Rob, why were you so nervous? It was just a date... with a really hot Rottie... who you made a horrible first impression with... and he probably had high expectations... I took a deep breath.

Knock knock knock.

"Comin'," I heard Daren say from inside, his voice deep and attractive as always. After a few seconds he opened the door and Hooooly Shit-Sunday he wasn't wearing a shirt. I mean, I've seen plenty of hot guys with theirs shirts off in the locker rooms before, but I guess not expecting it really makes a difference, because I was flushing up like a middle school girl. I already knew his arms were completely ripped, but now I got a front-row view of his practically bulging pecs that I really wanted feel up. He had a slight gut, but it was firm with a few muscular curves, which I found to be a huge turn-on for me. And that streak of brown fur across his muscular chest, Gaaaawd I just wanted to run my fingers through it.

Daren smiled slightly when he saw that it was me. "Hey there," he said as he leaned against the side of the doorway, "You're here early."

I inadvertently gulped. "Yeah you know... wouldn't want to be late for a first date."

Wait, did that just rhyme? Fuck, I think it rhymed, dammit!

If Daren noticed he didn't seem to care, as the Rottie just stayed silent for a while, checking me out with an approving smile. "You look hot," he purred with a toothy grin.

Jeez, this guy was a dog, not a cat; how the hell did he get so good at purring like that?!

"T-Thanks. So do you," I said, smiling and blushing sheepishly.

Daren gave off a self-satisfied snicker. "Thanks. Oh hey, just gimme a sec here to put something on," he said as he turned around and started heading for his room on the other side of the living room. I nearly collapsed from hotness overload when I saw his rippling back muscles and cute stubby tail wagging on his way to his room. And dat ass, dat phat muscle ass... You could say that I was really enjoying the view, and I guess 'Lil Robby was too, because my jeans were starting to feel a little tight.

"You can come in if you want," the buff Rottie said as he opened the door his bedroom, noticing that I was lingering around in the hallway.

I was so busy staring at his ass that I didn't realize I was just sort of... standing there. "Yeah okay," I said, snapping out of my little reverie.

When I entered the living room, it came to my attention that it was... kind of a mess. There was a mix of Men's health and fashion magazines, dirty laundry and plenty of empty fast food containers messily strewn around his apartment's interior. Other than that though, it seemed like a pretty basic apartment room; it had television, proper furnishings and a not completely hideous beige carpet. Though I couldn't but help notice that the outdated video game console by his television set though. I felt kind of bad that all Daren had was a Gamesphere when my parents got me the new Wee-Yu system on its release date...

"Anyone else home?" I asked as I took a seat on the portion of the sofa that wasn't covered in dirty laundry.

Daren spoke up from inside him room, the door left ajar. "Nah, Mom pretty much works non-stop. Part of the reason why this place's such a mess; only day she can afford to take off is Sunday, so she ain't got much time much time to clean up." I kind of wanted to peek into Daren's room and see what it looked like, but I figured that 'Creepy Rob' was not one of my alter egos that I should let out today.

"What about your dad?" I asked offhandedly as I realized I was actually sitting on one of the laces large-sized pink bra. Women's underwear, gross...

"Oh, I ain't gotta dad," Daren responded casually.

I cringed.

Phhhhh, oooooo, shouldn't have asked that...

Way to go Rob, that was some real smooth talking there! Quick, now start asking him about what living below the poverty line is like!

Normally I like to tell Rob's Mind to shut the fuck up when it blurts out obnoxious commentary like that, but I think I kind of deserved that one.

"Sorry, I-I didn't mean..." I started, not really sure how to apologize properly.

"S'aight, you didn't know," the Rottie said as he returned from his room, wearing a pair of ripped jeans, and pulling a dark grey hoodie down over his bare upper body. He wasn't going to wear anything under that? Oh boy...

When he got the hoodie on he looked at me and smirked. "So, hot stuff, where we goin'?"

Phew, he changed the topic. "Well, there's this nice little sushi place downtown that I was thinking we could go to..." I said, smiling goofily as we exited the room together and started making our way down the main hallway to the stairs after Daren locked up the room.

I'm a cat and I like fish, what can I say?

Daren raised up one of his floppy ears. "Sushi? Ain't had that before. 'Sit any good?" he asked as we started descending the stairs. He playfully jumped down the last five steps with a firm thud.

I followed suit but nearly lost my balance and toppled over when I made contact with the ground. Daren saw and smirked at my clumsiness, but I just pretended that didn't happen. "Yeah, it's real good! You've really never had it before?" I said, trying to recompose myself.

His response sounded almost disappointed. "Nah, can't say I have..."

When we made our way to the parking lot and approached the car, Daren didn't seem turned off that all I had to drive was a minivan. "Nice wheels," he said agreeably.

Well he sounded sincere enough about it, but it was a strange compliment considering how unfashionable I thought my mom's old Honda Odyssey was. "You think so? It's just my mom's van."

"Eh, better'n most anything I've ever driven in," he said with a shrug as we both got in and I got the car running. There wasn't too much traffic today, so that was good, but after I made my way out of the subdivision and started driving downtown, there was sort of this awkward silence forming between me and Daren. Daren didn't seem to mind the silence, but I really felt like I needed to say something.

Then I realized that there was something that I really wanted to ask him.

"So Daren, I was wondering... you do like guys right?" I asked casually, still keeping my eyes on the road.

The Rottie shot me an unimpressed glare, but then he snorted in amusement . "Yea. I thought I made that pretty obvious. You mean you seriously ain't figured that out yet?"

I folded my ears down, embarrassed. "I'm just making sure. In case you haven't noticed, I'm kind of clueless in regards to these sorts of things."

"Heh, oh I've noticed," he said with a low chuckle.

I ignored his little comment. "See the thing is that I never actually knew another guy who was... like me before... or at least not in person." I paused, not quite sure how to continue. "But, uh, what I was really wondering was that, well, since you seemed really forward with me so I was just... kinda wondering... would you happen to be, like, 'out'?"

Daren cocked his head. It was kind of cute, actually. "'Out'? Like, out of the closet?" he asked.

I nodded. "Yeah, like, are you open about it and stuff?"

"Hmm." Daren averted his gaze to out the window, contemplative. "Am I open about it? ...Yea I guess I am. Wouldn't say I'm out though."

That was a strange thing to say. Was there really much of a distinction between the two? "Really? Why do you say that?" I asked as I stopped for the fourth red light in a row. I swear I had the worst luck with traffic lights...

Daren gave a noncommittal shrug. "Well I ain't 'out' because I was never 'in' to begin with. I just am who I am. I like what I happen to like, and do what I happen to do. And if others don't like it, then they can kiss my ass."

Your sexy, well-rounded, muscular-ass.

Seriously though, abrasiveness aside, that was actually a strangely powerful thing he just said there. "You know I've never really thought about it like that," I said pensively.

Daren shrugged again. "Well it's true. People can come up with all these terms and labels for me if they want, but it ain't gonna change who I am," he said, sounding almost defensive.

I gave a lukewarm nod in agreement. "Yeah... Still though, I'm jealous of you. Being able to be open like that is pretty admirable. I could never do that..." I said, only then just realizing that I wasn't paying proper attention to the road when I starting drifting into the other lane of the road we were on.

Daren seemed unconvinced, however. "Sure you can. It ain't very hard."

"It is for me..." I whined in a melodramatic fashion.

The Rottie made a tsking noise and then started looking out the window again. "Well, it shouldn't be. I might be a fresh meat here, but I can tell that people are pretty chill here. What you afraid of anyhow?"

I groaned. "I dunno, social ridicule? I'm on the football team and the guys there can be a little bit... insensitive about that sort of thing," I said as I slowed down so I wouldn't hit this jaywalking raccoon girl who was taking her sweet time crossing the road while talking on her cellphone. I wanted to flip her off really badly, but I didn't want to let out 'Asshole Rob' on my first date.

Daren sneered. "Man, you worryin' 'bout a whole ton of notin'. Who cares if people talk ish 'bout you. If yo' ass is gonna be safe either way, who gives a fuck, just be yourself."

Wait a minute. 'If yo' ass is gonna be safe'... A thought popped into my head. "Uh, Daren, where were you from before you moved to Rosenville?"

"Detroit," he said reflexively.

It made a terrible lot of sense, but his response still surprised me. "Wait, you came here all the way from Michigan?" I asked.

Daren sighed and didn't say anything for a few seconds. An uncomfortable topic maybe? "Yea... my mom got offered a nursing position at the hospital here. And from what I could tell, she wanted to get me as far away from the gang violence or whatever as possible, so movin' to a suburb in Ohio must've seemed like a good idea to her. So even though I didn't want to leave, here I am," he spoke his words incredibly dryly and bitterly. He sighed again, this time with a little more weight to it. "Look, where I was from before... it ain't important. I'm here now and I'm here to stay; that's all that matters."

Oh jeez, this was getting awkward; I must have riled up some unwanted memories there... I had to salvage the situation quick! Preferably without Panic Protocol this time...

"Well, if it's any consolation, I'm glad you're here," I said with a friendly smile. It was cheesy, but what else was I going to say?

Actually though, I saw Daren's face light up. "Hey, thanks homie. That's... actually real nice of you to say," he said with a slight blush. Holy low-fat guacamole he just blushed. That was so cuuuuuuuute. Sexy too, even he wasn't going for it. You know, he looked really hot when he was bright and happy like that. It kind of reminded me of Scott in a way...

Wait a minute, that was like, the first thing all day I said that actually worked out! Hell yeah, way to go Rob! Give yourself a pat on the back! Only don't, because you're driving...

You know, we actually didn't talk for the last few minutes of the ride, but somehow it didn't feel so awkward anymore.
