Besieged emotion,
Conflicting in turmoil.
Clouded skies above.
A wind filled torrent,
Rending asunder what stood.
Frantic waves of grass.
Standing on the field,
A wolf battles for his own.
Battered and beaten.
Tiered and strength failing,
He continues on.
Looking for shelter,
Where there is none to be found.
Steadfast he moves on,
Searching for his answers still.
To go left or right.
Forward or go back.
Raging like the storm outside,
The battle within.
Consuming his heart,
Surrounding it in clutter.
He opened his eyes,
A paw shielding the tempest.
Glimmered was his hope.
Step by step he went,
Forcing each with all his might.
Standing before him.
A rock sat unwavering.
The shelter for him.
Collapsed to his knees.
Against the raging gales,
Finding what he sought.
His sanctuary.
Worn and tired he falls asleep,
Wolf left to his thoughts.
