Sunny's Battle Class: Gone Wrong

, , , , ,

Sunny stood a bit anxiously with Tsunami at the head of the Battle Training Cave, awaiting the arrival of the first Winglet of the day. When Jade Winglet stepped into the room, Tsunami turned to address the class.

"Welcome once again to Battle Training. As you were asking about yesterday, how do you defeat an opponent who is larger than you? So today I have brought in Sunny to teach you about the many advantages smaller dragons may have over their larger opponents." She turned to Sunny, "You got this?"

"Yes," said Sunny, letting herself regain her confidence.

"Okay then, well, I'll see you after class."

"Wait, not alone!" Sunny cried after Tsunami. But it was already too late, Tsunami was out the door and out of earshot.

Sunny looked at the students before her and sighed.

"Okay, I'm going to split you into three groups. Moon and Qibli, you be together, Kinkajou and Turtle, and Umber, you can be with Winter."

Once they got into their groups, Sunny once again looked at them. Qibli was standing beside Moon, who was a bit smaller than him, he was looking at her as if trying to imagine all the ways she could come at him, and ways he could be clever enough to outmaneuver her.

"You see, when you're small," Sunny started, "It gives you plenty of room to get in close, and slip in on your opponent and attack them. For example..." Sunny paused, an awkwardness growing over her as she remembered the move she had once used on Starflight and Clay. There were so many other moves that could be done when you had the advantage of size, but suddenly, that was the only move she could think of.

Unfortunately, Moon must have picked up on that thought, because, "Oh, you mean like this," and quickly, while Qibli was distracted, Moon slid under him on her back, and kicked out with her back talons toward the opening in his back legs, in the direction of his tail.

CONTACT!

Qibli's eyes suddenly went wide, Moon leapt out from under him...

And suddenly Qibli collapsed to his knees, holding himself, and roaring in agony.

Moon regretted what she had done in an instant, all eyes turned to her and Qibli, and Moon was not ready for the onslaught of thoughts from a room full of dragons who had just witnessed somebody getting kicked in an area nobody hoped to ever mention, but now could not NOT think about. Qibli himself was suffering from humiliating thoughts in his pain, In front of a girl, in front of MOON. I didn't even have a chance to out maneuver- OH MY N**S!!

Yeah, Moon didn't need to hear that. The thought that she was thinking that right now, that must be HUMILIATING for Qibli.

"I'm sorry," Moon said instantly, "I didn't know..." But she didn't quite know what she thought.

Qibli remained there moaning. So much for having technique!

Sunny's face was red, this was not how she wanted her class to start.

But then, Kinkajou, who was watching this and trying to process this, her face suddenly lit up.

"I want to try that!" She declared with excitement.

"Wait! No, wait!" Turtle said, eyes going wide.

But it was too late, Kinkajou had already leapt at Turtle, and before he could defend himself, she lashed out at Turtle exactly where Moon had on Qibli. At the contact, Turtle's eye went wide with shock of the abrupt explosion of pain that was beyond what he ever could've imagined, his face twisting with agony. Instantly he collapsed to the floor, moaning in pain as well. Kinkajou jumped away in victory, and turned to face Turtle who was holding himself desperately.

"You look so cute scrunched up like that!" She declared.

Turtle's face burned through the agony as he writhed painfully by her talons. Kinkajou thought this was cute!? Oh the humiliation! His crush for her was burning more than he could bear at this moment. But you know what was burning more? His-

Okay, we're not going to finish that.

"I love that move!" Kinkajou declared. Suddenly, she turned to Winter and Umber, "We should try it on them as well!" she shouted, leaping up to face the other two at the other side of the room.

Winter flinched, taking a step away from the girls and the two fallen comrades. "No way!" Winter cried, "I'm not having something like that happen because of some RainWing!"

What!? Turtle cried inwardly, moaning with agony on the outside. Winter and Umber? Isn't it cute enough that I'm like this?!

Sunny looked at the class, knowing this was all starting to get out of control.

"Well, um, Winter is Umber's opponent right now, so..."

"Wait," said Moon, looking confused, Qibli still writhing at her feet, unable to stop all the names that he probably didn't want Moon to hear that he had for what was in pain down there from going through his head at once, "Are you not going to teach us that move?"

Sunny hesitated a moment, "It seems unfair that every male should have to feel that just for one class," Sunny said. "It is battle class though, and you do have to try to win, so... so just try to make sure you don't put all your male partners through too much pain," Sunny winced. This was going to go badly.

Fortunately, when it came time for Winter and Umber to fight, neither of them showed much interest in performing Sunny's move on eachother.

This might work out after all, Sunny thought.

But then she reteamed them, and Moon ended up with Umber, and Kinkajou...

"I call Winter this time!" She shouted.

Kinkajou leapt to her place beside her opponent, Winter's eyes went wide.

"Wait, Kinkajou, we don't need to-!" But it was too late, Kinkajou was already at him, leaping in close. Before Winter could even brace himself, she was underneath him, her talons coming into contact with his underbody. In an instant, he collapsed to the ground roaring in pain!

Brought down by a small RainWing girl! It shouldn't hurt this much! What about his IceWing dignity!?

"Oh! It's all so cute and handsome!" Kinkajou cried in victory.

Oh, now he is cute AND handsome, Turtle thought with jealousy.

Moon on the other talon tried to keep her moves civil with Umber, but it soon became obvious with a bulky MudWing like him...

There was only one way she was going to win this.

"Sorry," Moon said.

And with that, she slid under him and kicked him.

And as could be predicted, he went down howling as well.

Turtle and Qibli were pretty glad at the moment that they were facing eachother this time around.

Moon and Sunny flinched as they took in the room, at the fallen males.

This was NOT the class Sunny had wanted to teach today.

Well sure, it was all of Jade Winglet, Starflight, and even Clay, Sunny told herself, but there were plenty of guys who would never have to face a fate like that, right? Not ALL males went through that, right?

As class finished, Sunny let a sigh of relief, watching Jade Winglet file out the door. At least that was over.

But as Anemone came in with the rest of Silver Winglet, she looked at Sunny, "Hey, I heard you had a cool new move to teach us girls today!"

Sunny moaned wretchedly.

And so the day went by.

It was a horrible. By the end of the day, there wasn't a single male student in all of Jade Mountain Academy who hadn't fallen under Sunny's signature move.

As Copper Winglet was leaving, and Quartz was coming in, one of the girls from Copper looked at a Quartz boy, and said with amusement in her eyes, "You do not want to go in there."

"It's just battle class," said the Quartz Student, "We do this every day."

"Well then, your fate is sealed," said the Copper girl, shaking her head in pity.

And it was. In fact, if there had been a reward for the most unfortunate, most painful incident of the day, it'd probably have gone to that poor unknowing student from Quartz.

As Tsunami came back in after the last class, Sunny was standing there, face burning fiercely with embarrassment, the memory of all the roars of agony and humiliation that had went on in this room still feeling like they were echoing in the walls.

"You were on a roll today," Tsunami burst into hysteric roar, slapping her on the back with a wing.

But Sunny was not at all comforted by Tsunami's enthusiasm.

I am NEVER teaching this class again , Sunny thought.
