#38 of An Evertech Tale

Well this is another really naughty submission but not for the sex stuff, for other things. Part of the stocking stuffers event run by Terinas Tiger! More hypnosis and mind play. Also near the end of the chapter there's a graphic scene of violence with one Splicer killing another in his head. It's hard to explain the exact details but if that's not something you're about maybe skip the last few pages...

Splicer was in agony, at least part of him was. He couldn't explain it; he was product, he had to obey. But, deep down inside there was the tiniest voice that cried out during all of his 'earned' punishments. It was always whining and complaining about the pain claiming it wasn't right to be tortured this way, but whatever his owner did to his body would always be right, no matter what.

The only time the voice shut up was when Splicer was with Blaine and Jack. Only then did the echoing sobs in his mind ebbed, leaving him able to focus on the commands he was given. The sir in charge would only ever order the wolf to eat more than he deserved. Rarely, would the beagle use the product for its true purpose. Both parts of Splicer were happy when the beagle used him like that.

...

Joseph needed a second opinion; he was sitting on a call in his office. "It's taking too long Orwell, what did you find out from the data?"

"I mean you're basically asking me to give my observations on an un-observable event sir. The numbers, while interesting, don't really tell me much of anything."

"I need answers, now... Laguna's been hounding me for the toy back." Joseph was growling, he reached the end of his rope with the wolf.

"Fuck, I don't know, if the de-processing really is an after effect of the electricity in him, based on the general efficiency of the nanites... I give it, six years for a natural recover with the current rehabilitation metods."

"SIX YEARS? It didn't take him nearly that long the first time! I don't have that kind of time!"

"Sir, as I've said, it seems to be the electricity that gave him the ability to recover his mind. And as it stands, the nanites he currently have are much better at minimizing electrical damage."

"Unacceptable, simply unacceptable... I have to be conditioning him around the clock it seems, I'll send away the toy's 'guardian' so he doesn't bother me with all his crying. I expect you to come up with a better fucking solution in the meantime."

"Sir have you..." Orwell knew his next suggestion would not be to Joseph's liking. "Considered manually de-processing him? Just for the sake of expediting the whole ordeal. You're integrated with DelphAI, it couldn't take you more than a few minutes..."

Orwell didn't get an answer, only a disconnected call line in his vision, he thanked Joseph for not giving him the earful the otter was most likely spouting in the air right now.

"GOD-FUCKING... USELESS! I fucking knew that wolf was nothing special."

...

It was rare that Splicer met the true owner eye to eye, Joseph usually preferred staying behind the observation windows to watch from afar, despite his urge to do some of the things he ordered done to the wolf personally, he was primarily the overseer after all.

"Look me in the eyes, mutt..."

Splicer obeyed, part of him was begging to close his eyes. The CEO held his eye contact, acting almost as a direct link into the database of the product's mind. Digging around, Joseph was confused after he picked up on the background voice in the wolf's mind.

Don't fucking touch me!

_ _

_ Don't speak to a sir like that!_

_ _

Shit, now he knows, I know you're watching, stay out of my fucking head!

There was a spark of conflicting emotion hidden in the empty eyes of the wolf.

"What, are you?" Joseph was still reeling, was that actually a piece of the wolf's old personality or had the torture been so extreme even a product had no choice but to snap?

I'm Splicer! Both voices shouted at the same time.

"This is- an anomaly... how long have you been like this?"

How... long? Three months? No, four.

If that was true the fragment came to surface after just two weeks at the facility. That would mean despite being outwardly just a normal product inside there was just the tiniest voice of dissent in his head. Still, how long would it take for that voice to grow? As it was, it was barely a tiny whisper. Easily drowned out by the product's voice.

If Joseph really wanted to, he could just snuff one of the voices out at let the other take full control again, but he couldn't help but feel idle curiosity towards the scenario.

No, this would be better, much better... A sinister smile spread across the otter's maw. He needed to know which voice would win the power struggle, he had a feeling he knew which one it would be, but he wanted to watch.

He grabbed hold of the toy's mind, rewiring some of the product's control and directing it to the rebellious voice, until they were about even. There wasn't a fur alive who could handle the amount of strain being put onto his brain at the moment. Splicer had begun drooling, his eyes glazed over while he slumped back into his chair, looking to be half asleep.

"What did you do! Splicer? SPLICER?" Jack was already in the room, gripping the wolf's shoulders. "You said you were just going to take a look!"

"I did take a look, and I decided to put him back together, mostly. You should be thankful." Joseph said with mild annoyance that he was separated from Splicer's mind earlier than he had wanted to.

"Wait you can just, do that? What about Blaine, tell me you can fix him? Please?"

"The... pilot? He's already fixed. Isn't it a satisfactory toy?"

"No I don't need a toy! I want my Blaine back, I need him back..."

"Unfortunately, I don't 'fix' product, processing them is more fixing that anything I think. I only did this one because it's a personal pet to Laguna. We're done for today, take him before he gets drool all over my table..."

Jack got in the elevator, cradling the wolf. This time, his knuckle selected their room, leaving a small spider web of cracks where it had selected a floor.

...

"Splicer, it's been two days, please eat something... please, just, fucking move? Blink? ANYTHING?" Jack cried, anytime he even looked in the direction of the wolf wasting away in the bed he cried. Well not that the wolf was wasting, he just didn't move. The nanites in him kept him health, and he was supplied with all the nutrients he needed through an IV drip, but it was just, so sad. At least he would talk when he was a product, the only signs of life the wolf gave off now was the fact his nanites were circulating, he wasn't even breathing anymore, staring at nothing, with those dead eyes. Jack cursed Joseph, he cursed himself too, if he didn't force Splicer to break eye contact, maybe he would be better. Allegedly only marginally better, but anything had to better than this.

...

"You fucked us, you fucked us good!" Splicer was looking at himself standing there, wearing the Evertech collar, he looked at the collar tag on his neck, it read puppy. He pulled hard at it, but it may as well have been cemented around his neck for as good as it did.

"I fucked us? You just had to shut the fuck up for 5 minutes but no! All you do is bitch and complain, all fucking day, every fucking day. Don't you even stop?" The other Splicer responded looking down at the pathetic display of the wolf trying something that would never work. "I can't believe you're what I used to be..."

"The hell would you know? You're just an imaginary concept implanted in my body, if you showed half the spunk out there as you're showing here, right now, we might not be in this position! But noooooo you just had to be a good boy while our fucking claws were ripped out one by one! WHY? Didn't it hurt for you? I know it did for me..."

"Of course it hurt, but, it, we deserved it!"

"FOR WHAT? EXISTING?" Splicer roared and went over to the Evertech collar, grabbing it tight and baring his fangs.

"YOU'RE ONE TO TALK ABOUT EXISTING, YOU SHOULD BE DEAD! WHY AREN'T YOU?"

"I honestly don't know, I honestly don't care, I'm here for my body back and that's that. I'd say it's nice knowing you, but we both know that's a lie."

The other Splicer grabbed on the wrist of the puppy collar, tears welled in his eyes.

"How can you say that? You know what it's like, to be erased... I don't want to go, you can't make me!"

Splicer let go of the collar, he gripped his other's paws in his own, they both fell to the floor sobbing.

"We can't stay like this though..."

"I know..."

...

"Splicer, come on, it's time for bed... Good night..." Jack sighed as he was laying next to Blaine on the bed, he knew the wolf wouldn't crawl up with them. But he still had prayed against the odds one night that they would snap out of it and join him. No dice tonight.

...

"I won't play rock paper scissors with you over my fucking body, are you insane? It's rightfully mine!"

"You act like I was never around! I was always trying to talk to you, but you never listened!"

"Bullshit! I would never have a part of me that's like you!"

"Splicer we're both me, we both know when the other is lying... why are you even denying it at this point?"

Splicer was honestly perplexed at the question, he idly fiddled with the puppy tag around his collar. The opening was made, while the question still had his attention, the Evertech collar Splicer closed in and cracked the other across the jaw with a fist.

Splicer didn't know what hit him, his ears were ringing and his vision was blurry, there was a pressure on his chest. All he could see in the pinpricks of his vision was a rose emblem as the paws closed around his neck. He raised his paws up and weakly flailed, feeling his energy draining. He let his arms fall to his side.

Everything's fading... Splicer knew himself, he saw the desperation, but he figured it wouldn't be so soon, why did he want the body so much? All he wanted to do with it was let it be ordered around forever. He gasped out, trying to find air, find anything.

Time for my response I guess... Splicer hated himself for what he was going to do, he closed his eyes tight and bit down on his tongue. He felt the energy give him the brief moment of clarity he needed, he had all the vision he required. His claw moved without him needing to think, he hit his mark, the Splicer on top of him howled out in pain as one paw went up to his once-eye. Splicer pushed the other paw off, if he didn't capitalize... it was kill or be killed, and his other half had clearly made their choice.

Splicer drew the other into a close hug, his teeth sunk deep into their neck, a familiar taste was rushing into his mouth, but instead of the usual pure energy it was only bittersweet and sad. He felt a crackling warm liquid running down his back as the other gurgled, weakly clawing at him, but both knew it was already over. He looked at the mess of blue blood and wolf at his feet, a puddle was slowly pooling around the broken collar on the ground, snapped in his teeth. Blue filled the laser etching, forming a blue rose in place of black.

"I-I'M SORRY!" His head tilted back as he cried into the darkness of his own mind, new tears dripping down his cheeks, a paw weakly grabbed his. He looked into the other Splicer's eye, he didn't think a product's could look emptier.

"N-no I won't let you fade I WON'T! You can stay, please?"

The other Splicer didn't even try to say anything, just weakly nodding, he was used to being an unheard voice, he figured as long as he wasn't completely gone, he could live with himself. His eye closed, bringing new howls to the victor's maw.

He just wanted to live, we both did... Splicer knew he won, but he swore he lost.

...

The first thing Splicer did in his body was gasp, as if he was taking in all the air he had missed out on in his catatonic state. He couldn't do it in one, he gasped over and over again as he clutched his throat, it wasn't gouged out. But then again, it wasn't his throat that was pierced, he looked down at his collar, that black rose...

He ripped the IV from his arm and curled up into a ball and began howling outside of his mind. Was the other him really going to be gone?

"Jesus fucking Christ, Splicer, it's three AM what are you howling- SPLICER? Holy shit! Splicer? You're awake?" Jack said, only momentarily confused in his sleep haze. "Come here Splicer, I need to know it's you..."

Splicer nearly ran and jumped into the bed nuzzling in between the two furs, tears still streaming down his check. "Yeah, it's me, Jack..."

Splicer told Jack about the ordeal, all the while crying as Jack pet his ears and listened in horror.

"I'm so sorry that happened Splicer, it's my fault..."

"If you weren't here Jack, I'd have given up long ago..."

"I heard the product was awake?" It hadn't even been 20 minutes before Joseph had arrived in the room and looked at the wolf laying there, protected by Blaine and Jack. "What happened? I must know!"

Joseph was already connected with Splicer, he wasn't going to wait for the wolf to give an answer, he needed it now. Splicer felt his mind being forced to relive the whole encounter from the beginning at a near instant pace, yet still recalling every word, every second as if it happened real time. The fight was replayed in real time, it all felt like slow motion to the wolf.

I'm so sick, and tired, of you fucking, WITH MY MIND! Splicer had enough, he felt his teeth clamping in the death hug, but when he stood up he was looking down into the otter's face. Joseph broke the connection, almost unnerved by the sheer malice of the wolf's shared vision.

"I'll leave you be, for the night then... we can discuss this later I suppose..." Joseph slipped back into the elevator. He adjusted his tie in the mirror, making sure to feel his neck. "What an aggravating mutt..."

Splicer sank back into the bed a new wave of wails wracking his body, Jack figured he'd just have to let the wolf cry it out, but he pulled them in close to his body and squeezed hard. Splicer's eyes widened as he pushed off, nearly pushing Jack out of the bed.

"NO! PLEASE! DON'T!" Splicer felt awful, but he couldn't help his reaction to being reminded of what he did. For a second he thought Jack was going to do the same. He didn't know what else to do, he went to the foot of the bed and curled himself into a ball.

"I'm sorry..." He put himself to sleep for the night.

"No shit, I didn't... Splicer?" Jack went to reach over and try to reawaken him, but seeing the small shivers the wolf made as they slept made him hesitant. The beagle just gripped his fox extra tight that night as he thought about how he was going to help Splicer through the next few days.
