Chikorita Catches a Mudkip: Chapter 3

Chikorita followed Jennifer down the trail in silence on her way to some city in which they'd do battle. Chikorita didn't know the name, Chikorita didn't care, her mind was on the Mudkip she had caught for her trainer, who was still remaining silent inside his Pokéball. He was so cute. He was so adorable. And the way he had folded over when he had got hurt in his... It made Chikorita feel weird, very, very weird. It made her want to curl up on the ground and roll around in a fit of giggles that would never end. Mudkip was so hilarious, she could just not contain it. Oh, why was he so afraid of her? They should be friends.
After awhile, Jennifer tried again to let Mudkip out of his Pokéball. Mudkip just stood there, hunched over cowering from Chikorita. She was too cute. How could he approach her knowing that she knew all about his secret weakness? So he just stayed there.
The look on Mudkip's face... Chikorita finally lost it, she dropped to the ground giggling hysterically, she rolled and rolled, she couldn't stop it, this Mudkip was so cute! And MALE! It was the most perfect combo! Oh how perfect that one so cute could drop to something so embarrassing! And here she was, a GIRL, which meant that she couldn't... Because she had... Oh, she had to pee! And even that would be different than how Mudkip would do it, because she was a GIRL and he was a BOY!
And here was Mudkip watching a girl, who also happened to be the cutest Chikorita on the planet (oh, why did it have to be such a perfect combination), laughing at the most embarrassing aspect of his male self like his embarrassment was the most adorable thing imaginable... His face went red, his eyes began to water, he let out one sob... and then he burst out in hilarity too, dropping to the ground and rolling around laughing. Oh, he was so embarrassing! How could he have been so embarrassing in front of such a cute girl!? Oh he was so embarrassed. WHY HIM?! But the whole situation was so cute and funny that he couldn't hold it together! A cute girl was laughing at the most embarrassing aspect of his non-girl self! She would never be as embarrassed as him, and now she was rolling around laughing about it like she couldn't control it in the cutest Chikorita giggles she had. Oh, she was so cute, and she was laughing at HIM! He couldn't. His orange Mudkip cheeks were so red, and every sense of embarrassment just made him laugh more. His most embarrassing boy weakness had been announced in front of the cutest girl Chikorita in the WORLD! He couldn't believe how funny it was to be so embarrassed in front of one so cute as her.
So Mudkip laughed his Soul out, side by side with Chikorita, tears rolling down his eyes. They rolled into eachother and took a moment to look at eachother before they burst out laughing all over again, legs flailing helplessly. Oh, Mudkip's cheeks were so red. He was so humiliated with himself in front of this girl, and he couldn't believe how hilarious that was!
Finally, Chikorita couldn't hold it anymore, she had to go. Trying to suppress her laughter, she rushed to a brush, squatted, and did what she needed to do. Mudkip saw and she knew that he would've done that differently himself. She suppressed her titters. She couldn't contain herself. She imitated him getting hurt where he was weakest, "Chik!" she oofed, folding inward as if she was impacted by something hard then dropping to her knees, throwing her front paws going through her back legs (oof, where were her paws supposed to find purchase? Nothing? Okay, she'd just pretend. The true humor was that it'd only really work on him anyway, boys were so hilarious!) and scrunching up her face pitifully.
Mudkip threw a paw over his mouth, red cheeks looking like they were about to explode. They both lost it again, dropping to their sides and laughing anew.
Jennifer just stood watching her two Pokémon, not sure how to take all this. Well, it looked like they'd make a good team after all, perhaps even a good couple someday. Well, she'd just let this play out, then they could go.
As they continued traveling down the road later, Jennifer left Mudkip and Chikorita out so they could walk together. They traveled side by side, but Mudkip kept a slight distance from Chikorita. Though he was beginning to like her, he still felt very awkward around her. He knew she knew she couldn't just bash him whenever, but it was still funny, and that was embarrassing, just looking at her reminded Mudkip why he was so embarrassed with himself, it all made him very red. (Why him?). Chikorita glanced over at him, and giggled, turning to look away. Yeah, it was too awkward to even look at eachother right now. That would take time. But for now, they could walk together, a very embarrassing and awkward walk, but still a walk, and that was a start.
