Candus (short for Candusians) are a canine-like races that aren't really considered to be canine. They are considered the elven-like species of Chemerians (or the anthropomorphics.) This document will contain information about the Candus and origins.
Miscellaneous
Though can be negative in certain ways as people view them, every living thing has a stereotype. Candus are no exception. Candus resent being called a dog, or even related to canines at all! This is a common enemy among all Candus. They may have came form the canine territories of Arcadia (Continent, not the planet) however they're civilization was not as savage during the times of the dawn of all the species that inhabit their world.
Just like elves in the human's side of the planet, Candus helped a great deal with the progression of using Mana, a spiritual energy within all living things.
Tropic Candusians were usually found living on an island or in the mountains (See Appearance) and they usually have the common role of being a farmer or a fighter. Tropic Candusians are commonly known to being strong, using mana to help their usual strength to make certain tasks easier (or to take on tougher opponents in combat.) Because of this, they are usually suited for manual labor. Because they can fight back with ease, that also means there were small conflicts with territories and those around the mountains reduced a little but grew back over time. Those who lived on the islands were fine and put up a good defense against invaders.
Arctic Candusians have been known to be a bit more powerful with mana. Unlike the Tropic Candusians, they don't put all their mana to psychical strength, but to practicing "magic", or manipulation of mana. Most well known Arctic Candus have wrote their own books about mana practice, the effects of "blackblood" magic, and anything spiritual involving mana. It wasn't odd to see an elemental bloodline with arctic candus families. They remain few during the dawn, but their numbers grew over time, perhaps avoiding conflicts was what really helped them in the end...
Mutt Candus, a mix of tropic and arctic. The "mud babies" of the three breeds. They are adaptable to cultures, just like the mountain and the arctic Candusians, try too can use mana, how they use it is up to them. This breed is the largest of the three, and usually have a colorful arrays of bloodlines. They also take the Dog insult very lightly, seeing they choose to stay in the canine's territory for the most part.
