My body may be battered to a veritable pulp at this moment (though, not literally. I'm not that much of a sadist,) but, my mind is soaring, thank you very much. I had been waiting to do that for a while.

Sure, I guess I've got release problems. But when you're packed tighter than a CO2 tank in a fire, you can't really help when you detonate... wow, worst innuendo ever. But, I forgot my delete gesture so, oh well.

Julia's told me about this mysterious human. Absolutely no clue at all why she didn't tell me earlier. Suppose she was too busy maneuvering herself in front of my crotch. I think I can deal with those priorities. It will be a stretch though (not really.)

I really have no clue why we'd have any heads down here. I mean, this is a virgin planet, right?

"What exactly was going on in my absence?" Suit asked, surprisingly petulant.

"I could say; 'none of your business.' But I suppose I owe you some courtesy," Julia said. She snapped her ascender onto the line running down and out of sight, beyond the sectional, polymer floor of the hangar.

"Thank you, Madam."

"That said," she rebuked. "I'm not telling you anything."

There was a tense pause. "I reserve my commentary... Madam."

"Relax, suit. A woman must have her indulgences," she glanced toward Tan. "Ready?"

"Yeah," Tan said. He promptly leapt from the platform. His ascender screamed down the line. For a few moments, Tan's primal, cracking howl of supreme excitement echoed up to them, then was lost with distance.

Julia shrugged, then followed. She was slightly more contained in her approach. But, that was an overstatement. The ascender climbed around to her back as she dove headfirst out of the Kazemaru. The wind rushed around her as she assumed a swan-dive position.

As she approached the treeline, the rush of wind began to subtly slacken. The line had ceased screaming with the fervor it had attained at the height of her dive. Treelimbs zipped by, unveiling interconnecting chasms of green built on top of each other. As shadow became noticeable, her ascender reached a sedate pace. She flipped over in time to land on the tips of her feline toes. Tan was waiting beside her.

"Took you long enough," he said.

She squinted and cocked her head at him in disbelief. "Well, I'm not suicidally exuberant like you. You'd think you got stimmed like I did the day after planetfall."

"Better," he said, smiling warmly. He glanced at his feet as he spoke. "I-I've got a confidant." So; it wasn't just the meat pleasures of it. How cute.

She smiled as she detached from her line and stepped closer. "I hope you know I'm not touchy feely," she reached forward and embraced him. "But it was cute nonetheless," she whispered, her muzzle brushing his cheek as she talked. "I'll always have an ear open for you, kay?" She didn't want him to think anything had changed for the worse since the last night. Not that she really saw him as long term or sacred or anything... but a cold bitch she did not intend to be.

"K-kay," he said, breathing suddenly fast. She stepped back and regarded him briefly.

"Let's go," she said. "I floated the lines so we can transfer onto one near where I saw our star-crossed lovers escape."

"Star-crossed lovers?" He snapped a safety line from his ascender to the vertical line that had brought him down. As he turned, Julia was already making her way along one of the massive branches. Her nimble toes carried her effortlessly over the moss-encrusted lawn below her.

"It's Shakespeare," she said as he trotted to catch up.

"Don't bother explaining," he said. "I'll spare you." The line came into view, hanging from a tiny dot, alone in the distant, blue sky. They'd set up a network of helium-filled trellises, tethered to the Kazemaru. They acted as launch-points for secondary lines that could take them down the deeper openings in the green cover.

This particular one opened upward like a box canyon, tenuous, brown plant-limbs of unknown origin encircling the old trees.

"There," Julia said as she attached her ascender. "Let's take it slow, and be quiet."

CHAPTER SIX: To the White Forest

***

Julia curtly leapt from the edge of the branch and sank into the leaves below with narry a sound. After disengaging his safety line and clicking in behind her, Tan followed.

The darkness engulfed him as he dropped into the discreet cavern of clear space around the line. Below, he felt rather than heard Julia's descent, as the line shook out of sync with his own movements.

The furrowed, bushy reaches of outer tree limbs fell away like mesas. Below; they revealed little open space. Tiny branches snapped up from below as Julia pushed them aside. Tan suppressed an audible cringe as one raked his leg.

Just as he almost saw fit to break the silence over the ongoing issue of noncooperative foliage, things changed.

The leaves below gave way to an open, sloping canyon of Technicolor flora. They rose upward and climbed the great tree-trunks that formed the walls. The growth only stopped where the leaves of the tree began.

His skin tingled as he looked over the plants. Their curves seemed to invite him forward.

He was so distracted he nearly landed on top of Julia. "You feel that?" he whispered as he alighted beside her.

"I think I do," she replied. "Stay behind me. I'm not sure these things are what they seem." She shook her head. "I mean, we are on an alien planet after all." She looked back, then turned and pointed to a descent line at the far end of the space. Tan immediately realized this was going to be a long walk.

She set off along a twisting branch like the one they'd set out from. But this one was more convoluted and almost purposefully indirect. Tan almost sensed an intelligent choice here. Something felt artificial.

Meanwhile, a haze of elation and the nervous tingling of sexual exchitement had set upon him. He felt goaded into looking over the advertising colors of the place. It gave him completion.

He disconnected from the line. He wouldn't be able to run a safety line across this garden without leaving evidence of his passing. He supposed he'd have to do as Julia did. Though, he only hoped the foliage below was solid enough to break his fall if he failed.

As he picked his way over the path, he'd glance at Julia, then downward. It had quickly become an insatiable act. Ahead of him, Julia angrily scratched at one of her ears.

"What is with this place?" she hissed. When no reply came, she stopped and turned. "Tan?" His gaze was focused elsewhere below. He briefly swooned and suddenly lost his balance.

She yelled after him as he toppled forward, into the wet hiss of passing foliage. She ran to see what had happened to him, only to find him lying just above the flowers.

"I'm okay," he said. However, he hadn't smashed any of the flora. Instead; he was supported by fat limbs. Julia's eyes went wide as she saw others advancing toward him. "What is it?"

Before she could speak, they snaked around his torso. He gasped as he was lifted into the air. "The hell?" he croaked. "I knew there was something up here!"

Dust shot up around the entire space, smelling of sweet oils. "Oh, here we go," he moaned. "At least it probably doesn't want me for dinner." He cracked a detached, defiant smile and chuckled. "Agh," he choked. "Laughing gas!" He broke into a rumbling fit of giggles.

"I'll get you out!" Julia barked. Though, she wasn't at all sure how. Feelers pushed at Tan's clothes, moving them aside to expose bare skin. "I'll get you a line..." But she couldn't stop inhaling the scents of the place.

She reached out toward him, he was held tenuously close. But, as she presented an arm, a feeler wrapped around her wrist and pulled her from the edge.

"Madam!" Suit said.

"Wait!" she exclaimed as feelers snaked hastily over her covered form. "We can't hurt this thing! It's probably innocent." It was a bad time to have to deal with non-intervention. But she felt no real endangerment here. She felt another purpose all around her. She'd felt it when she'd seen the flowers and in the dust welling around them in great clouds. It felt all too familiar to their other encounters.

She batted the other feelers away with her free hand and hampered the others with her legs. Tan, meanwhile, had no barriers available and was faring much worse.

"Hey!" he exclaimed. "I decide when those get unbuttoned! Not you." He laughed again.

Imperatives crept into her consciousness. How long could she keep this up, and what if the creature gave up? Would it care to put her down somewhere safe or just let her go?

"I'm afraid if I applied voltage, Madam," Suit began. "We would fall to our deaths."

Julia's thoughts swam. Why resist? Why not let it happen, it could be wonderful.

"Suit," she commanded. "Open." She only hoped tan had reached a similar conclusion.

"Madam!" he protested. "You're mad!" But, his simple control functions were tied to her prerogative. He couldn't stop her from doing something that didn't endanger himself.

"Go to sleep," she said.

He soon seemed to realize the futility of their situation and, in a fit of cynical lucidity, hibernated his higher functions. Suit's musculature released its hard hold of her, cleaving along the separations between bands of black fiber. Rebellious gray and blue fur pushed forward into the open air. Julia sighed against the breeze suddenly on her skin.

The dull feelers surrounding her didn't let up. They compelled themselves by dumb will, twisting around her midriff and shoulders. Others pulled clumsily at her ankles, trying to coax her legs apart.

As they finally gained purchase, they snaked up to her calves and gently moved her legs upward. Fiberous black strands retreated from her, washing backward over her curvaceous buttocks and revealing intimate views.

Livid petals opened between the velvety fur of her loins, thrust downward and undeniably exposed to the will of the dull intruder.

The feelers that had circled around her like watching hawks slowly advanced. Their ends briefly split, revealing glimpses of fragile, dayglow organs in subtle flits of motion. She paused in a heartbeat of silence as they regarded her.

Each began to slowly peel backward along petals with fiery orange interiors. The colors hypnotized her and competed to captivate her gaze. They were the visual embodiment of perfection, more vivid than anything she'd seen. She watched organs emerge in a sun-kissed shimmer of liquid. It clung to the candy red, orange and yellow surfaces of the complex organs. Yellow ganglia shivered in the breeze, orange tubes twisted and grasped at thin air and red, stumpy suckers shimmered with lubrication.

Tiny, bulbous eyes subtly lining the stalks beneath the organs guided the feelers downward and above her midriff. They curved and slithered forward, directly seeking her blank, pink skin.

Tan didn't notice. The feelers had already converged over his loins. Two tongues of red feelers studded with suckers fought for purchase over his length. They twisted over him, holding him captive as orange tube-feet examined his tip.

He bit his lip as one passed over his opening, teasing the sensitive space. He felt limp and helpless, save the shivers that overtook him every time the feelers gained ground. It felt good, but part of him nagged at some previous objective. Move somewhere. Well, where was he going now? It probably didn't matter.

Julia, however, had more or less accepted her fate. Orange tube-feet marched over her bare fur, seeking any secondary contact. However, others were busy at her breasts. Red tongues of suckers kneaded and cupped her flesh, tumbling over her. Another found her engorged nipple. Its fine tip wrapped around her sensitive flesh, squeezing and teasing a mewl of pleasure from her lips.

She lost control of her head, letting her gaze tumble limply downward. She'd lost any sense of the purpose or source of this assault, even forgetting her own reasons for wanting to fend it off in the first place. But, she was beginning to gain a liking for this planet, improbable though it could be.

Amidst her tumultuous dance of exotic contact, a lucid part of her began to contemplate this world. 'To think our first real alien biosphere would be full of this,' she thought to herself as feelers converged on her loins. 'Co-operation, mutualism.'

Their orange tube-feet poked and prodder her folds, massaging the skin on a precise scale. They gyrated from tip to base as they examined her sensitive flesh. The suckers withdrew and pushed forward in a continuous cycle of movement that attempted to wrestle any clarity from her brain.

The feelers jousted and gyrated around their find, like a pack of hunters. But, their movements were much less hostile. 'Passive, gentle,' she mused between fits of movement in her storm of ecstacy 'like everything else on this planet.' Their long stalks twisted and ground amongst each other, partially obscuring her from view.

However, through their movement, she saw a powerful hand extending tentatively outward in her direction. Toward its origin, she saw a set of eyes forced open amidst fitful spasms of movement. Tan was reaching out to her. He looked distressed in his own subtle way.

She unthinkingly reached out and grasped his hand in her own slender fingers.

Moments after, as if to punctuate the event, Julia's petals were spread wide by the tube feet between her up-turned legs and invaded by a rosy red tongue. The wet suckers covering its surface popped over her as it slowly squeezed further into her interior. She gasped and sighed as it began to violently pulsate and swell within her.

The orange maw at Tan's tip suddenly widened, allowing it to slip over his sensitive skin. The suckers marched over him, delicately teasing his flesh in a storm of kisses as they passed. Other feelers surged forward, spiraling around the first as it swallowed the red feelers still spiraling from base to tip over part of his skin.

The new feelers were capped with a forest of yellow dust suspended in delicate, yielding branches. They squeezed around the feeler engulfing his length and into the gap in his clothing it had unwittingly prepared for them.

They washed over his skin, not missing an inch and covering him in gritty contact. It fell into the creases of his shirt and began to break him free of his stupor. But, it was to no avail. A fleshy sheath descended over the feelers at his loins and encompassed his organs, swallowing every inch of skin that jutted from him. As it enveloped him in folds of yielding flesh, Julia cried out in pleasure.

Yellow stocks teased her erect nipples and washed over her captive limbs. She was held in a hard embrace across her loins by another jacket of flesh. It pressed around her entrance, masses of red tongues escaping under its lips.

The sight of it sent Tan into a thunderous release. In the throes of his pleasure, he heard the creaking of feet on branches.

"Humans?" A female voice asked. "What is this?"
