Korriana was woken by the roar of a beast and the sound of wood being torn and scattered. She the rest of the wagon was slower to rise, so she had to climb over someone to get out of the wagon. On instinct she had her satchel and staff in hand, ready to flee.

One of the wagons had been destroyed, men were rushing out of the others. The threat was hard to determine, as it seemed the sun had been blocked out in a radius around the caravan. It was obviously some sort of magic, so there must have been...

Blood splattered across Korriana's face. She threw herself backwards away from the source, before seeing what it was. A beast, black furred, towered over the Orc standing before it. In the darkness, she could see movement, there were others though she couldn't tell how many more in the darkness.

"By the Power be slain!" The Orc shouted as he cleaved the beast in two neat pieces.

Korriana stepped up to the Orc, recognizing that he was providing the only possibility of safety in this scenario. The Orc glanced down at her, they made eye contact and he showed her what could have been a fatal wound. Korriana hurriedly threw her free hand onto his side and focused on her magic. She chanted a few words and his wound closed.

The Orc grinned and turned to slice open another of these beasts. As the creature fell it shifted into the corpse of a human woman. Korriana shrieked as she recognized the creature. A few above her home was a lair infested with these creatures.

"Akuaki!" Korriana shouted, "Light a torch!"

"Can't!" The Orc was level headed enough to maintain conversation, "Magical Darkness!"

Korriana looked about for a spellcaster, many of the shadow beasts were tearing apart the merchants and human adventurers who'd be entirely blind. She turned to see on of these creatures lumbering at her, the Orc busy with his own. She leveled her staff at the creature and swallowed the fear that she was going to explode if she used it. The roar of fire from her staff was deafening, flowing wildly out of control, and managed only to mark her as easy prey.

The creature bound at her claws at her throat before being severed. The beast reared back and roared before receiving a blade throat, its head swinging back and hanging on a small piece of flesh. The corpse of a broad bearded man fell into her, knocking her off her feet. Korriana's savior in golden armor pulled the corpse off her, and thrust his hand down to pull her up. He hoisted her into a cradling embrace with his free hand, turning to fight of an Akuaki with his blade.

"What do you do with the torch?" Dawn shouted.

Korriana stared blankly at the creature trying to kill them.

"The torch, Little Wonder?" Dawn shouted, "Why?"

Korriana shook herself back into reality, "They're afraid of the light! It takes away their power!"

Dawn bounded away with the little kobold cradled in his arm. He ducked under a slashing claw and bounded up a destroyed wagon before leaping down to a circle of warriors warding off the creatures from reaching civilians.

"Ghaf, the darkness!" Dawn shouted.

The wizard harrumphed, "I save my Dispell for the big guns."

Dawn bellowed in anger, "That is their big guns."

The wizard scrunched his face and grumpily threw a bolt of lightning at an oncoming Akuaki rebounding it backwards. He then raised his staff to the sky and shot a bolt of energy upward, it pulsed outward in a ripple of crackling mana.

Sun broke through the spell, shadows recessing. The Akuaki were immediately nowhere to be found. Instead normal people no one recognized were standing about confused.

Korriana found herself clinging tightly on Dawn's breastplate. Her heartbeat was running so fast she couldn't breath. A tight strong arm gripped her tightly, and ripped her from Dawn's embrace.

"Off!" Vin demanded.

Korriana landed on her feet, knees shaking.

There was a concentrated effort to find out the purpose of the attack, and another to heal the wounded. Korriana found herself helping with the later, finding equal parts caution and praise.

One man had his gullet slashed open. Korriana had to hold back a retch as she herded his innards back into place, the man barely able to react to the pain. She chanted, her hands glowing, and sealed his wounds. He'd have a nasty scar and need to replace his tunic, but he was suddenly able to breath and speak. Several young women gave Korriana a hug, she had to fight them off to get back to work.

One man told her he'd rather die than let her heal him, demanding a human cleric. He was delirious from blood loss, so she forced past his rejection, placing her hands on his torn leg. She rejuvenated him, and he promptly grabbed her by the horn and shook her. She had to push him off her, which was surprisingly easy due to his exhaustion.

After handling a dozen men, she came to her Orcish friend, he was still standing despite his severe wounds. He looked down her and grinned, quietly thanking Dande for interrupting his prayer to Salor. Korriana suddenly recognized him as the from that party at the tavern who had teased her, but he obviously didn't recognize her. He weakly put her hands on him, closing the worst of his wounds, but many more gashes were still bleeding. At that moment she lost her magic, she couldn't find the mana for a spell, got dizzy and passed out.

Korriana woke in a safe bed, in a warm room, with nice white walls and a distant ceiling. She had been here before. She sat up, the world twisting and wrenching her gut. So she laid back down and decided more rest was necessary.

"Tappy?" An excited voice shouted from across the room, "You're awake?"

The somewhat heavy, redheaded princess bounded across the room in excited glee. Laughter stopped herself a few steps away from the bed, took a deep breath to calm herself, and walked gracefully to Korriana's side.

"What happened?" Korriana moaned, "How did I get here?"

Laughter tried, and failed, not to sound too excited, "This prince carried you in. You should have seen him, he was so..."

"He's married," Korriana moaned.

"Well yeah..." Laughter laughed, "But still, he was gorgeous."

"You should see his true form," Korriana found herself saying.

Laughter kneeled down to the bed, propping her chin in her hands, "You saw it? I bet he's a Gold Dragon."

Korriana blushed, "Uh... yeah...."

Laughter's grin broadened, "Details, please."

Korriana turned onto her side to look at her, the world wobbled and tried to resist any motion. The little kobold felt herself about to vomit, but managed to fight the nausea down.

Laughter's face drooped, "Let me get you some tea."

Korriana watched as the princess filled a nearby kettle with water from a vase. She removed the cover of a lamp and set the teapot over a small fireball suspended in air between metal wires. Korriana wasn't too surprised at this point to realize Laughter was using a magic flame. She was pretty surprised however when she found herself staring at the woman's butt for several minutes after. Why did she keep doing this?

The sound of steam startled Korriana. For a brief moment she was back home, Thalthas was above her, he was upset with her. A churning in her stomach ended Korriana's call to panic.

Laughter poured a pair of cups, put them on a tray with pastries, and brought that over to the bed. She swayed her hips triumphantly as she brought the tea, obviously proud of what must of been an accomplishment. When Korriana managed a slight giggle, Laughter gave a warming smile.

"The butler is teaching me how to be a proper wife," Laughter bragged, "So when my hero sweeps me off my feet we can live happily ever after."

Korriana managed to sit up without the world kicking her back down, "I don't think I can lift you."

Laughter handed Korriana a cup with a cheesy grin. She hadn't forgotten, but had obviously moved on. Korriana wondered briefly if she wasn't the only hero Laughter had in her past.

Then she took a drink of the hot tea. It was sweet and felt incredible on her churning stomach. The pastry was even sweeter, heavy, and made the world no longer feel like it was made of sludge.

Korriana took a bite out of a third pastry, "I think you're my hero this time..."

Laughter giggled into her cup, enjoying someone partaking in her craftsmanship. "You've changed."

Korriana unfolded her wings and stretched them out. They ached, but it felt good.

"I love your wings and the horns look nice," Laughter bit back excitement, "But that's not what I mean."

Korriana looked down at her tea. A little piece of a leaf was swirling about helplessly as her cup followed the shaking of her hands. She sympathized with the leaf for a moment, but drank the tea anyways.

Korriana stared blankly at the princess for a long while, "Horns?"

Laughter put a finger on Korriana's horn, "Yeah, I like them, they make you look less vulnerable."

Korriana coughed, searching for a change of topic, "Did you ever find that book?"

Laughter stopped chewing a bit of pastry for a moment, then swallowed very slowly and thoughtfully, "What book?" But her face twisted in sudden memory, "Oh! Yes, the book on kobolds. I did read a bit of it. It was really boring."

Korriana frowned at her.

"But," Laughter continued, "I read another book on ascension that might answer some questions." Laughter danced off to find her armoire, pulled a book out of a clothes drawer, and returned with it, "I bought it off a wizard. I think you met him, spindly guy with a nasty beard."

Korriana looked at 'A Study into Draconic Ascension' and shuddered. She tried to say she remembered the man, but found the curse he had left on her made it impossible. The man had raped her, cursed her, and was likely in the process of destroying her home.

"He was asking for directions to the dungeon you live in," Laughter stated, "Said something about treasure."

Korriana's blood boiled. She wanted to scream at the princess. How could she be so stupid?

"So I warned him that the place had already been picked dry by previous adventurers." Laughter kept talking like she didn't know how terrible her words were, "But he insisted, so I gave him a really long route there."

Unable to will her body to even react to this statement, Korriana screamed inside her own head. Why the fuck would she do that? Then a realization hit Korriana like a sack of gold.

"You know the way to the dungeon?" Korriana shouted, uncertain as to why she could suddenly speak again.

"You don't?" The princess paused, then shrugged, "I could take you home if you wanted."

Korriana's heart swelled with hope, "Thank you, so much."

"But it will have to wait at least until morning," Laughter added, "Longer if you don't recover."

The kobold's eyes widened with excitement, "I have healing magic!"

Laughter's face puffed up with excitement, then deflated into caution. "Don't," the princess set aside her teacup and the empty tray, "You overextended yourself."

Korriana set aside her empty teacup and laid back slowly. Her muscles still ached, but much less. She hadn't ever used so much magic before. She must have healed twenty people. She did it without even thinking, without even recognizing the gravity of that decision. But it was the right thing to do.

Laughter hesitantly suggested, "There are some things you can do to speed the recovery."

Korriana sighed, letting her chest swell and drop visibly. The princess was such a terrible liar, Korriana could call it out before the lie was even spoken. Curiosity was dangerous, but Korriana gave in, "What do you suggest?"

"The soul recovers with good feelings," the princess spoke slowly, with a persuasive tone, "I could give you a massage... or... uh... we could..."

The kobold watched her friend fumble with the words for a moment before responding, "Laughter, I don't think this will work out."

The princess's face twisted into a frown, "Oh," she stood and collected the platter and cups. Korriana could vaguely see a tear in her eye as she turned away with the tray in hand. Her steps got shaky as she berated herself under her breath. She turned to meekly glance at Korriana for moment. Laughter then dropped the tray and rushed out of the room in tears.

Korriana watched wide eyed. She hadn't expected that. Did Laughter have feelings for her? Korriana rolled out of bed, her muscles aching. She hobbled to a few steps before looking down. She was naked. That'd be fine back in the caves, but here? Korriana cursed, wrapped herself in the bed sheets and continued onward dragging the sheets on the ground behind her in a great length.

Trying not to get caught on the door, Korriana clambered into the hallway. She looked both directions, no sign of the princess. She took a moment to consider if Laughter was lying about it being bad to use magic, probably not, and decided to cast a simple scrying. A searing pain in her cranium took her to the floor, but the spell returned knowledge.

*The princess likes to eat when depressed.*

Taking a moment to bring herself back to balance, Korriana considered the little she knew of the building. She shook her head in confusion. The spell was supposed to point a direction, not give observation. She had seen the dining room, so the kitchen would likely be nearby. That was workable.

The halls were quiet, but well lit. The windows showing it to be the middle of the night. Otherwise, Korriana wouldn't have guessed. She checked each door, fruitlessly until sounds of a struggle made her skip a room. A dark section of the hallway where the lantern was taken into a closed door drew Korriana's attention.

"Who are-" Laughter's voice was cut off inside.

Throwing caution to the wind, Korriana pushed the door open to see the princess with a dagger at her throat. A cloaked figure with a large backpack and the various trappings of an adventurer stood over her. The man turned to see Korriana, and she recognized him immediately as the man from the tavern who she had robbed. He seemed to recognize her as well, hopefully just as the caravan healer.

The man for a long moment, trying to calculate his next move. Korriana tried to signal to Laughter that this was her best chance to get away, but she was frozen staring at the blade. As soon as Korriana managed to get the princess's attention the burglar turned his attention back to her threatening her more directly.

"If either of you makes a peep," the man stated, "I'll slit her throat."

Korriana watched the man try to take hold of his situation. He seemed as lost to what to do as she was. She looked about for anything to use to her advantage, but the bedroom was empty of any sort of weapon. She considered trying to use the blanket to trip him up, but it was to large for that. She could try with her bare claws, but he was three times her size and was ready to kill Laughter. She'd just have to wait for him to make a mistake.

After much deliberation, the man pulled a vial from his bag. It contained a single swallow of a glowing pink substance that seemed to swirl about on its own will. Korriana didn't know what was in it, but by the grin on the burglar's face, it had to be something terrible.

"Drink this," the man told Laughter.

Princess Laughter looked at the vial, then back at the man, her eyes wide in terror. She shook her head shallowly, trying not to rub her neck on the blade.

The man licked his lips, "Then I guess I'll just have to kill you."

Taking the hint, Laughter accepted the the vial and uncorked it, careful to keep her hands in plain sight. Korriana realized that it was her last chance to do anything, so she rushed forward. Or at least, she tried. The man had predicted it, and in one motion retrieved and tossed a small sac from his belt. The cloth bag burst against Korriana's chest and exploded into a mass of slimy goop that clung to everything. Already tangled up in a blanket, Korriana found the substance binding her to the floor. She struggled for a moment before remembering her friend in danger.

Laughter stared down at Korriana with vacant eyes. She looked down at the vial and then back at the man. He moved the dagger to be poised over her womb, urging her to get on with it.

"It's still rape," she told him in a casual tone before quaffing the mysterious liquid.

The man arched an eyebrow at the princess. He glanced at his other victim, then thinking everything was clear, he stowed his blade. The princess seemed unaffected at first, then her eyes glossed over. Korriana watched in horror as Laughter began to laugh maniacally. The confusion in the hooded man's face turned to panic as he tried to calm her down.

"Someone will hear us!" He shushed her.

"I can't help it," the princess could barely say, "I'm just so excited, so happy you're finally here."

Korriana tried to process what was going on. Suddenly the princess wore an aura of joy and was idly touching the thief's arm and chest. Her smile didn't just look pleased, but also lustful. What was in that vial?

"I, uh..." the burglar tried to come up with a lie, "I can't stay long. Don't tell anyone I was here. And make sure that thing," he pointed at the trapped kobold, "doesn't blab."

Laughter put a hand on the man's shoulder and urged him, "Can't you stay a little longer?"

The burglar tried to slip away, but Laughter pulled the man into a warm embrace kissing him on the lips. The man resisted at first but soon gave in as she explored his body in her hands. Korriana watched in confusion as the princess pulled down the man's pants.

The hooded man broke from their embrace for a moment, "Let me put out the lights."

There was a slight urgency in Laughter's voice as she said, "No, I want to see your face."

The man ignored her request, pushing her aside to grab the lantern. He pinched the light out with a hiss, shook his fingers and licked them. He smiled himself in the darkness and turned back to the princess. Laughter was no longer standing there.

In her place stood a large dark furred beast on two legs. It was hunched over the man, with sharp teeth on display. Unlike the others Korriana had seen, this one had two leathery wings and a pair of terrifying horns... the same Laughter had in her true form.

The man quickly drew a dagger, but the beast grabbed him by the wrist and threw him across the room. Korriana watched in horror as the creature stalked over to the man. He tried to get up, but his arm was broken by the impact.

"This isn't fair..." the hooded man whined as he tried to pull up his pants with his good arm.

A furry claw stamped down on his slack drawers, impeding his ability to clothe himself. The man looked up in terror at the creature, his face running the motions of panicked planning. The creature growled at him in a low rumble that shook Korriana's spine. The kobold struggled against her bindings as the creature slowly crept up to the man's face. He tried for another weapon, but the creature brought a claw down on his wrist before he could.

The beast sniffed at her prey's neck, the man crying in fear, not ready to make his peace with the divine. She then licked him from his neck up to his nose. The creature's sudden shift from making no noise into panting puppy sounds threw Korriana for a loop. The potion must have still been affecting her.

The man laughed, "Oh," he tried to speak between puppy kisses, "Good dog," it was apparently difficult, "But you're a little too playful," the creature dropped her weight on the man, "Oof!" She nuzzled his chest, "But seriously, I have to go."

At those words, the beast growled, giving the man an amount of pause. The creature then stood, lifting the man with her. She carried him like a rag doll to the nearby bed. On their slow trip over, she clawed away his gear, ripping his pack away, scattering his weapons about, sending his clothing in every direction. Korriana shuttered at the thought of what the creature was about to do, but couldn't help but feel that the man deserved worse.

"Look," the thief stated before being tossed onto the bed, "I know you like me," he tried to crawl away, but the creature grabbed him by one leg, "but I don't do furry chicks," the creature pulled him in by his legs, "and you're also kind of..."

His voice cut off as the beast licked the inside of the man's thigh. She ran a trail of slobbery kisses up his leg and to his belly, where she circled back down teasingly. The man shook his head in confusion, not sure if he was going to live through this.

The shadow beast took the man's still flaccid shaft in her mouth. He gasped, his legs jerking cautiously, afraid the creature might bite down at any moment. She was, to his relief, very gentle, licking him up his length before sucking. The beast sloppily kissed his crown and gingerly nibbled at his shaft.

"Careful," He warned, but his erection showed he was enjoying it.

The creature grinned at the man, tail wagging as she climbed onto the bed above him. The bed frame creaked under the weight, and the man sweated as he stared up at the beast. She let the the man have a brief moment to let him come to terms with what she was about to do.

"I," he stared with cautious eyes at her wet pussy, "I don't know if..."

The creature reached down to grab his dick with her claw. The man struggled, but the creature managed to line herself up with his member. He tried to kick her off, but she threatened him with a growl. He looked away, as the creature impaled herself upon his dick.

The shadow beast let out a whimper of delight as she took his manhood to the hilt. For a moment she rested, lovingly nuzzling her captive on the cheek. She then lifted her rear and slammed herself back down causing the bed to shake in anguish.

She grabbed each of the man's wrists and held them down for balance as she proceeded to fuck his brains out. Her hips working with such force that he was thrown down into the mattress with each thrust. His groans, one part pleasure, three parts pain, likely could be heard from around the castle. The creature kissed him sloppily on the face as she continued to pound his dick into her. She reared back and howled into the night, loving her moment of mounting.

The door opened, a light shining in, showing the princess, her dress lifted, taking the thief for all he was. Korriana looked up at the embarrassed butler, but his eyes never left the the couple. Laughter leaned down to the man and kissed him proper while she had the chance.

"I love-" the princess's words were cut off as the door closed and she turned back into the creature. In their place was the happy panting of a well bred bitch.

The monster stretched her wings out as she rode the man with newfound fury. She slammed down so hard and fast the the bed frame broke, dropping the mattress to the floor with a loud crash. This didn't stop her momentum as she was determined to get this man's seed. With another howl, she planted herself down to the hilt. The burglar jerked, his legs clinching as he came into her.

The creature panted, looking down at the man. Satisfied for now, she rolled to her feet and took a moment to find her balance.

For a terrifying moment, the creature stared directly at Korriana. In the Akuaki's eyes, Korriana could see Laughter trapped inside. The creature stalked up to the kobold, ready to slice the helpless being open with her claws. The creature then crashed through the nearby door and presumably out a window into the night.

A minute later, the butler returned with a lantern. Several guards accompanied him, as well as Prince Dawn. They clambered into the room one of the armored lackeys tripping over Korriana.

"Little Wonder?" Dawn asked in alarm, "Where's the princess?" As he took in the scene he added, "Who is that? Why are you both naked? What happened to the bed? Why..."

Korriana tried to keep up with his questions, but eventually she just had to say, "She's gone."

Dawn drew his sword, causing the man to attempt getting up, he couldn't exhausted as he was. The sword however was to pry the sticky substance from the floor. The guards picked up the naked burglar and carried him away. It took Dawn a brief moment to pry up the goop, before pulling it off the ground, the blanket with it. Dawn then quickly turned away blushing.

Korriana quickly covered herself with her wings, "I can explain."

"I sure hope you can!" The butler shouted.

Prince Dawn put a hand on the man's shoulder to calm him, before stating, "Prepare for her a bath. In the meanwhile I'll gather the party. We'll find her."
