Normal POV

The sun is rising slowly, as the once black skies turn into a shade of orange turning to blue. And there are a few waking beasts, starting their day as any other day as life goes on in the kingdom of Eldeow. Then as the sun continues to shine, it eventually reached inside a prince's room, awaking the prince as bright and warm sunlight touches his face.

'Today's the day huh?' as the once slumbering lepian rises from his slumber rubbing his eyes and stretches as he yawns, thinking to himself. "This day is no different from any other day. It's just the day when I came to the world, why do they make a big deal out of it?" and the hare once more gets dressed like any other day.

Meanwhile

"Hey Rum! Whad'ya think?" as the princess of Eldeow swirls around in her dress of white and royal blue. "Looks nice! But..." as the other person in the room, an ursan cladded in an orange vest decorated with yellow motifs covering it, a white shirt underneath it and a pair of brown slacks fixes himself, overwhelmed at what he's wearing. "You look fine! In fact look like someone attending a royal ball."

'Sometimes I think that they are looking at my face, not at the bigger picture.' As he sighs at the thought, and he finally buttons the bottom of his vest and ruffled his hair as he looks at his mirror. "There much better!" and then the bear took his wooden box and signals his adoptive sister that it's time to go.

"Horray!" as Reyna rushes to her brother's door knocking.

"Harry! Let's go!" and then the brown hare emerges, wearing a blue vest lined with gold linings to be accompanied by a white long shirt and simple trousers.

"Hi sis." As the older hare sighs, looks defeated.

"What's going on? It's your birthday! Smile!" and then their mother called out telling them it's time to leave. Rum and Reyna nods as the two walk to the exit.

"I wonder what they see on this day" and Harry shakes his head, took a deep breath before following suit.

There was a carriage parked outside the entrance of the castle. It is mostly yellow with orange to cover for their decorations, red for the curtains and finally there were a few people waiting outside. Four horses and a wolf-man coach waits for the order to move.

"Let's go" the queen who quickly went inside the carriage followed by her husband who sits next to her right after glaring at his son follows.

"Come on." As Reyna grabs her brothers arm heads for the entrance.

"Your highnesses, have a safe trip." Nolik bowed down as he closes the door before nodding at the coach to begin.

"Hiya!" the coach commanded his horses to start moving, and then there is also another carriage following them. The passengers are a pair of Leoans.

'At least they are here to keep me company on this trip.' the prince thought to himself looking at his right, seeing people of different kinds go together in harmony as they pass. Children playing at the side of the street, laughing and smiling and so care-free.

Harry POV

'I envy these people.' As he continues to look at his window.

'They have no responsibilities that concerns a lot of people, they can be who they want to be and act on it'

'I never felt special just because I am royalty. Overall being even a noble is a curse that has a cover of a fantasy come true. Honestly I never even wanted the crown but father is always persistent of me being the king someday...'

Then he notices the city gates are opened. Seeing guards bow as they pass by, and he sees that post in the plains all over again. 'We are in the crossroads now.' Having seen that sign post a few times before.

The post has four directions. To the right is a forest that seems to expand forever, left is where there are a few hills and a path in between them and ahead where there are a few mountains that are filled with trees.

The carriage continues to move forward as they head to what the sign post says "Avilis Mountains" then as we continue to head for the mountain range Rum speaks up. "Have any idea what this place is?"

"These are the Avilis Mountains." I replied "These mountains have a legend."

And then my mother takes a deep breath. "Oh the legend of Delie and Zau. This is actually a love story about an ursan and a human that always meets in a grove that said if two people discovered it. They will have everlasting love."

"Hmmm. That might be true." As Rum listens attentively to the story.

"Long time ago. There was a human named Zau, he is a conqueror that have taken over almost all of Falnure until he came across a village. That village is the ursan village Wasio." The bear smiles and I can't help but smile as well. "Zau was about to attack the village but his army had to rest so he wondered around the forest instead."

Zau POV

"Da ra, Es fel a suri" there I heard the most beautiful voice I ever heard in my life.

"Zec vuri escalaf" I am slowly walking towards the origin of the voice, I feel at peace the moment I started to hear that mystical voice. And there I found an ursan woman who was picking flowers.

"Oh. Hello there." The woman who wore nothing but a handwoven brown dress approaches me. I strangely feel nervous and giddy at the same time, never seen a creature as beautiful as her.

Her flowing black hair, her sweet smile, her brown fur and auburn eyes are the only things I can focus on. "A traveller, are you lost?" as she asks me, honestly I don't even know if what I'm doing is right. Getting attached to the one I am going to attack.

"Umm. No, I am not." She suddenly grabbed my arm and said "Well then let's go!" and she dragged me to her village. A few houses made of wood here and there, but there is a fireplace at the center of the village.

The world around me felt slower as I move along with the female, surrounded by smiling ursine left and right showing no signs of any difference. I am an invader and yet I am welcomed by these people.

"Welcome to Wasio Village, dear traveller." I head deep voice as I am being approached by a huge ursan that has the same fur and hair color as this female holding my hand.

"Welcome home, my dear" and the female gave the bigger male a peck at the cheek.

"I am Delie of the Ursan tribe and this is my father Hagun the chief." Then I cleared my throat.

"I am Zau Cavelon. A traveller from a far-away land." As I pay my respects to the chief

"Well then Zau, we shall celebrate your arrival on our village." Then the other ursine gathered around me and carried me to a chair. "Th-There's no need to..." and I am interrupted by the sound of the drums and other tribal instruments.

"Well..." as Delie approaches me. I looked away quickly trying to give her a chance to look at my face. "Is this the way you welcome visitors?" I asked the ursan beside me as she sits at the next chair at my right.

She gave me a quick nod.

"It's tradition. After all it's not often that we get to see a visitor in these mountains."

Then the drums beat louder as the beastmen gathered around the fire dance.

"I want to show you something." And I followed her outside the village and into a river, and I have to say it was no ordinary pond. It is surrounded by trees that have bulbs extending down from its' branches that glows. These bulbs range from red to yellow and orange to blue. Fireflies are everywhere fluttering above the water.

The water is so clear that it reflects everything clearly, the entire place itself feels so tranquil. Somehow my lust for conquering is fading and it's getting replaced by a feeling of content.

"This is beautiful, a truly wonderful place this is."

"Yes it is." Then she sits down in a patch of grass and I followed suit as we looked up to gaze at the full moon.

"You know. You are the only person besides me that knows this place."

I am astounded that I am the only person who knows of this special place. Not only that but she showed this to me of all people, a person commands others to make all whose who stand before me surrender.

Why am I thinking too much even? This is not me at all. I am supposed to be vicious and hostile but this woman just makes me behave like a pup. Who on earth is she!?

"Why are you showing this to me?"

"Because I trust you." And she smiles at me. I feel like I am going to explode the moment she looked at me.

"I better go." I stood up and dusted myself off.

"Okay. I will be here every day after dusk. I hope to see you soon." And I told her that I will meet her tomorrow.

And after that we meet every day after dusk in this very same spot. Talking, laughing and telling stories. Like that one time that she accidentally fed her father sap instead of honey, of course I had to tell her the time that I clumsily tied my sandals that I tripped the moment I even walked.

Every day I would tell my solders to stand down and rest, they are beginning to suspect that I don't want to continue this conquest. They are restless as the days go by, training and scouting for the day that we attack.

And for once I wanted to stop. Stop invading, stop tearing families apart and stop from killing.

Then eventually I had to tell the truth about me.

"Umm. Delie I have something to tell you." And I bowed my head down.

"I am sorry, I haven't told you _all_about me." I took a deep breath.

"I am not a traveller but a conqueror, a warlord. I am sorry that I have not told you this but we will attack your village as well."

Then she started to shed tears. "Y-you ..." and she is about to slap me in the face.

"But I want to stop." She looked at me, softening her eyes.

"Because I love you and I want to protect everything I care about. Starting with you and the village. I only wanted to be with you and to make you happy for the rest of my days and..."

Slowly but surely I realized what I felt now. For the first time I felt love.

"I want the others to have this chance too." And she smiles at me.

"Then promise me that you will atone for all that you done."

I nodded and she said to me "I love you too. Now and forever more." Then as we lay down together at the soft grass, drifting away to sleep..

The next day I told my army that I will be retiring. Of course that caused some uproar but then some decided to go home, others to wonder the world and the rest just wanted to redeem themselves.

As for me, I lived the rest of my life as the chief of the tribe with Delie by my side. The one I promised my life and soul to. Eventually we both went to the same grove and slept there as we pass away. Promising to be together, even in death.

"Love." As I look at the aged ursan beside me, hair of white smiles "Yes?" and I asked her "I love you." And then she replied "I love you too. And may anyone who finds this place have our blessing of everlasting love."

Harry POV

"There you have it." My mom ends the story. "Thank you for the story, your highness." And then my mom replied with a smile "Your welcome." And we arrived at our destination.

"Yay we are here!" and the door opened as we got down from the carriage. The mansion before us is huge. Made mostly of wood and has a few people running about, forming a line and bowed before us.

"Welcome back your majesties." And then my dad nods to signal them to get up. "It's time to celebrate Harry's birthday get everything ready."

The staff scattered around to get to their works. 'I wish they would not overwork themselves for my sake.' Then I felt a tug at my shirt. "Let's wonder around."

I agree gladly as the sight of people working hard for my sake is something I detest. We wondered around for hours and hours until Reyna decided to go back with Ku-uya, enjoying the indoors.

"Hey." As Rum looks at me worried. "We are lost aren't we?" and I nodded, for one I don't mind getting lost. It's just my birthday anyway. And then as we try to find our way back we heard a voice.

"Da ra, Es fel a suri"

A melodic voice and we decided to follow it, hoping to be able to find our way back in the mansion. And when we reached the source, nobody is there. But we are met with a beautiful sight.

"Wow! What is this place!" and we marvel at the body of water in front of us. Glowing bulbs hanging from the vines from the trees and fireflies flutter above the mirror like crystal clear water.

"You know Harry." As the bear looks at me. "Never think that you are not special. Because everyone needs you in their own way. That's why you should smile today of all days."

Then he pats my shoulder. "Happy birthday" and I nodded.

"I guess you're right, after all..." and I look at the full moon once more.

"I will make my dreams come true. No matter what I have to do. If I were not here then I would have never met you. So I guess everyone needs each other, that makes them special to others."

Then I heard a voice.

"Harry! Rum! Where are you!?"

"Oh we better get back." Then we stood up and exited the grove.

'I guess this day is worth celebrating after all. Not for the bad but for the good you bring with others.' And we met up with Ku-uya and Reyna telling us that the party is ready.

"Let's hurry then." Rum and the others started to run back. And strangely I felt someone is behind me, when I turn around nobody's there.

"Harry! Come on!" the ursan called out to me.

"Ok."

We eventually went back to the mansion, everyone greeted me happy birthday here and there. Then eventually I knew that I can't avoid this, father introduced me to another noble's daughter.

"Harry this is Carilyne of the Resuf household. Carilyne this is Harry my son." Then she curtsies to greet me. "Nice to finally meet the prince of Eldeow." And then I bowed back and replied "The pleasure's all mine."

Then my father left the two of us to mingle. Then she looks to my right looking shy, "Who's that?" as she points towards the direction of Rum, Ku-uya and Reyna who were busy talking about the food. I replied that she is my sister and she said not her but the brown bear beside her.

"Oh that'll be Rum, he is staying with us." "I have to say. He is dashing, may I ask you a favor?" and I told her what would that "favor" be and I got a feeling that it will involve the ursan.

"Can you introduce me to him? I want to know him better." She whispered to me as she looks at the direction where my father was at, currently engaged with one of the nobles. "Sure."

Then eventually we reached Rum's group where they are eating slices of cake and cheese together. "Oh, Harry who's that?" the lion who is busy eating a blueberry filled cake inquired me.

"This is Carilyne. Caryline this is Ku-uya. Over there is my sister Reyna and finally the glutton over there is Aurum Barrazan." Then I saw the bear choke slightly the moment I said glutton.

"Hey! That's not the way to introduce someone!" then he pulled me into a noggie, separating me from Carilyne who starts to laugh at the act we are doing. Then I was released from his grip to greet Carilyne, telling her to call him Rum instead.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Rum." Then she starts to blush slightly, "Umm. Can we go out sometime? Maybe for a spot of tea perhaps?" then he replied that he would love to.

"Lovely, then I will see you tomorrow at ten outside the mansion. Don't be late." Then the bear chuckled and promised to comply. "See you then, it's nice to meet all of you."

Then the striped noble said her goodbyes to leave with her mother who so happens to be talking with King Anli.

"Dammit Rum! Why do you attract all the good-lookin girls, I am jealous!" then he replied that he does not even know why, in fact it feels like a curse instead of a blessing.

I have always notice that all of the girls seem to want to get to know him. Heck he even has his personal cheering squad every time we get to sparring practice. I don't know if it's either he is just that he is gentlemanly or he is just that good looking.

But he also a jokester. Pranking his friends and yours truly so good that it's impossible to laugh at the prank itself. Heck even Jalkaw laughed so hard at the time that his face got painted on when he was sleeping. His laughing was so excessive that he ended up wheezing after that.

And ever since that, he stopped sleeping in class.

Basically I guess he is what you call a person who you always want to be around. Never want to see a sad face along his way, turns it upside down.

And he got so many invitations, from grand to tea parties from all of the girls, that now that I think about it explains how his belly started to bulge. Eating cakes and sweets all times a day has got to put in some weight. He said it himself that he is lucky to have a sweet tooth.

"Come on, share your secret." The lion continues to pester the bear, hoping to have a personal cheering squad too I would guess knowing him. And I chuckled as we continue to eat. Looking at the cubs in front of me laugh as they continue to talk.

"Well then I suppose I will give my gift to the birthday boy now." Then he pulls out his fiddle and told me that he has been writing this piece ever since he was inside the palace.

"Go for it." Then the bear plays a very hoppy beat. It sounds so cheerful that everyone stopped what they were doing and the bear seems to be focused at the moment, then a drummer and a flute player started to play along stomping.

Then the others started to form a circle, dancing the traditional hop waltz dance in where every four beats they would do a hop step and clap along with their partners.

Then the music started to speed up until Aurum quickly played a series of notes that were so fast that the crowd can only awe at the bears dexterity, higher and higher the notes go until he played a flat note to end the song.

Everyone clapped at the wonderful performance the bear and company have brought up and the band bowed down their heads. Whistles and applauses can be heard from all corners of the room.

"Thank you!" the bear yelled out. Then the applauses died down, and the bear is busy talking with the others; nobles and children alike are praising the musical pioneer. His responses are humble and I seem to like that about him too.

Eventually we had to retire for the night, Reyna came first to leave the party, second is Ku-uya. Who was mingling with girls until he have met all of them. And finally me and Rum went to our room.

Our room has two beds next to each other, has two closets and a mirror on each one. A wide window on the back of the room and a magic chandelier, pegged in the middle of the ceiling.

"Well time to go to bed." Then I slammed myself head first to my bed and Rum laid on his back and wraps himself with his blanket right after we put on our pajamas. "Yup, man I am beat."

Then we both laughed. "Hey Rum?"

"Yeah?"

"Someday. Right?"

"Someday."

Then I smiled inward, I hope that we can be together when we start our journey out there.

"I can't wait." I said to myself and I closed my eyes.

"Thank you Rum. For everything." Then just as I said that I heard snoring.

"Hehe. Good night, my friend."
