#2 of Pokemon - Snippets of Lives

Another extended character profile from an RP I played in. I just thought I'd post it for people's enjoyment.

A Pidgey sat perched in a tree in the forest, smiling broadly and staring off into the sunset, the dim light of the sky reflecting on her chest plate and helmet. She had just passed her final written exam and all of the last physical tests. Although Elweth was a peaceful place and never really had to deal with anything even close to war before, the Elweth Guard still kept the peace in the city and were looked upon with respect by most of the populace.

She was tired and worn, and could practically fall asleep, but she couldn't right now. Sies had been invited to a small get-together with some friends she knew who were graduating with her. Fighting fatigue, she lifted herself up and flew back to the city.

Once there, she flew to Dalon's home, and gracefully landed in front of the wooden abode. Though many of the members of the Guard simply lived in the barracks of the EG's headquarters, this Grimer had his own home. The door cracked open, and the purple mess of a Pokemon peeked out cautiously, making Sies laugh.

"Why are you always so strange? Us Guards can't be cowardly," she teased, wagging her index... feather.

Dalon gave a nervous laugh and nodded. "Yes, indeed! Come in, come in!"

The Pidgey quickly walked in, and the door was closed and locked behind her. That made her raise an eyebrow, and the moment she realized no one else was in the home made her become alert. She turned to Dalon and glared at him hard. "What is this? Explain what's going on here. Where is everyone else? Sohra, Kijl, everyone!"

The anger Sies expressed shook Dalon enough to make him take a step back, and he held his hands together and fidgeted with the slimy appendages. "I... I'm sorry, but I somewhat lied. No one else is coming."

"Let me out, now, or I'm breaking out," she threatened. Her voice and look was completely serious.

"Please, wait!" Dalon begged, holding up his hands. If he was crying, it was indistinguishable from his oozing body. "I only did this because I really, really want to talk to you."

The angry glare didn't leave her face, and she simply stood there unmoving until Dalon kept speaking. "I... You see..."

"Spit it out already!"

"I like you!" The confession knocked her angry look off her face, instantly replacing it with a look of confusion. She blinked as the purple slime thing continued. "Ever since we met at the headquarters, I've liked you. I've always tried mimicking you in the physical tests all these years, and..."

"I'm sorry," the Pidgey interrupted. Her voice was at least much more kind now. "I know where you're going with this, and I want you to stop so that you don't hurt yourself. I'm simply not interested in a relationship with anyone."

With a crushed purple heart, Dalon lowered his 'head'. "Oh..." He sniffled, "I see."

"Yeah..." He reached up, almost unlocking the door, but stopped short of that. "Uhm, before you go, I'd like to give you something."

A sigh. "What is it, Dalon?"

He went towards his small table, and grabbed a place, bringing it to her. "I was going to share these snacks with you, but... Well, I put a lot of work into them, and..."

[Urgh...] She mentally groaned and winced. It would've been obvious to anyone else watching that Dalon was being manipulative, but Sies fell for it, trusting the Grimer as a friend, and not wanting to hurt his feelings. "I can taste one, I guess. But I really am going after that."

"That's fine, I understand," he replied.

The Pidgey looked down at the plate, looking over the rolled up leaves. Leaves? She leaned her beak down and tried smelling and licking one tentatively. "What are these exactly?"

"They're just leaves filled with flower and spices. It's pretty simple, but I happen to like it a lot," he replied with a bright smile.

After a little hesitation, she plucked one up with her beak and chewed it up. This time, she winced for real, but swallowed it down quickly and nodded. Whatever spices were in these must've been old and rotten, or something, but she forced it down and smiled.

"Well then, now that that's done with, I'll be g..." She was going to say going, right?

Except she didn't remember much very clearly after that. It was like having a dream, and there were lots of flashes of memories and bits of feelings. Vague pictures of Dalon keeping her in his place after some more coercion, then more eating those leaf things, laughing, talking. It was strange, and nothing at all like her normal self. But the feeling she had the whole time was great, she felt so alive, good, and happy. And then, the last parts of it, the clearest of them all in her memory...

Sies laid down on her back after removing her armor, wrapping her wings around the Grimer, who was pushing himself onto, and into, the bird, taking advantage of her in a drugged state and engulfing her body in the overwhelming glob of ooze that was Dalon. The sickest part was how much she had enjoyed it.

"FUUUUCK!" she shouted, shooting her eyes open. She laid on the ground in Dalon's bed, her armor on the floor over where they had been. The bird tried to get up, and upon doing so, realized how much her body insanely ached. All over, every inch, every muscle, every vein burned and ached. If you've ever had a bad hangover, recall how your stomach and head felt, and that's how Sies felt everywhere.

Overwhelmed in pain, she screamed and cried. Dalon came rushing in, then began laughing once he realized what was going on.

"You b... bastard! What the hell happened?" Sies groaned.

The Grimer crossed his arms. "Well, I seem to remember you changing your mind about leaving, staying over, we talked a bit, had a drink or two, and then..."

"Drink my as," she spat at him. "You drugged me. Aaargh! It hurts so much!"

Dalon sighed and patted her head. She tried to smack it away, but her wings wouldn't move. "You're having minor symptoms of Elmeth poisoning. It will pass."

"ELMETH?!" Sies somehow mustered the strength, to crawl up and stand. Even in her wrecked state, she was intimidating to make himcower from the sudden burst of anger and energy from the bird. "That's what you put in those leaves?"

He nodded sheepishly. Then gave a cute innocent grin. "It worked pretty well..."

"FUCK YOU!" She slapped him, which hurt her a lot more than it did him. "You know how illegal that stuff is. We could both be kicked out of the kingdom for this, permanently! When the hell did you start doing this shit?"

"Oh, I don't do it!" he protested, holding up his hands defensively. "Honestly! You, however, ate every single leaf I had, the whole dozen. You're lucky I made them in small doses."

A scowl crept on her eyebrows. "Then... you're a dealer." The poison-type nodded enthusiastically. "I ought to turn you in ri-..." Before Sies could finished, she vomited quite suddenly, and fell down to her knees and wingpalms.

"Well, turning me in right now wouldn't make you look any better," he grinned, and patted her head. His other hand brought a glass of water to her, which was begrudgingly accepted. "These side effects are as temporary as the good effects. Don't you remember how good it felt last night?"

Immediately upon saying that, the water splashed over the purple slime'mon. "That doesn't matter!"

"Heh, you'll come back for more. Everyone does."

It had been a couple years since then, and as Dalon had said, she came back for more. Not because she was curious, but rather she had become addicted pretty much after that first night. If she didn't keep doing it, she'd break out in shakes, or worse, so in order to hide it, she kept doing the drug to hide the symptoms. After all, she had too much to lose, she worked her whole life for her position, always dreaming of becoming a general one day.

She finally had become one, and was quite proud of it. Sies had been a growing favorite of Tyon, the king of Elweth, and often given behind-the-scenes orders to watch his son, since he unfortunately often didn't have time to and felt terrible about it. Essentially, she had been given duty of babysitting from the shadows while also keeping up with in-town Guard matters. It was a little annoying to her; she was a respected general! This was almost pathetic. Still, a good Guard does what the king says no matter what, and she put in all her loyalty that was in Tyon also in Rai.

Recently, she had been requested to travel with Rai. The offer could not be passed; how could she say no to the King to protect the child she had already been watching? Well, mostly watching. Often, she had been busy doing Guard matters, or Rai snuck off on his own, or she was... hungover. Though the effects of the highs had dwindled down to being completely negligible, the poison morning after feelings got worse, as if her body was getting less able to resist the poison.

At the barracks, a brown satchel was sitting on a table across from her bed, which had a chest sitting in front of it for her to put her items in. She was filling the satchel with some basic stuff from her personal chest. Plenty of money that Tyon had given her, some food rations, which were basically just a few berries. A little note at the bottom of her chest caught her eyes. She picked it up and read it, "I left a little extra something for you in your chest as a going away gift. You'll need it. P.S., feel free to contact me whenever you need more. You know the price for it. Sincerely," and it was signed with a stain of lips kissing the paper, Dalon's own grime leaving a mark on it.

At the bottom of the chest, a little brown pouch laid there, and she looked around suddenly with fear. Though, it was pointless, because everyone else was gone doing field training. What was in the chest was obvious, why the hell did Dalon put that in the freaking barracks?! Anyone could've looked inside! Crazy bastard. She still grabbed the pouch and threw it in her satchel, then tied the package to her waist with satchel's strings, and went on her way to find Rai. But before she stepped out of the barracks, she suddenly fell down to her knees, and coughed harshly. Sies covered her beak with a wing, and when the coughing stopped, she looked down to her wing, and saw blood.

"W... what?" she began shivering with fear.
