THE FOOLISH TOADS

"Appalling!" cried the noble Earl of Toads "We ask God for a king and get a log! "All day it sits and does nothing at all! "And we are leaderless within the bog!"

"Fear not!" replied the attaché of birds. "We can provide you with a regal Lord! "We only ask submission to his laws. "And tribute fair, just what you can afford."

"Hazzah!" cried out the toad with limbs raised high. "It shall be done before the night shall fall!" The crafty avians sent them a stork. Who then proceeded to consume them all.

Wise Aesop told this tale, its wisdom rings 'Tis better log, than stork is, as your king.
