The first rays of sun came through the window and woke Shane.

Half asleep, he realized that he had fallen asleep on the floor.

His first glance fell on Akira, who had fallen asleep on the sofa.

Ari slept beside him on the couch.

He noticed that someone cuddled him.

'Who is this? It can't be Akira', Shane thought.

He looked at the hands and saw the coat color, it was Shakiria, who cuddled Shane, her chin was on Shane's head.

'Why is she doing this? We barely know each other.'

He gently placed her hands aside and tried to get up without waking Shakiria up.

Shane padded cautiously step by step forward.

He gently shook Akira to wake him.

"What? ... I'm awake," yawned Akira.

"Please not so loud Akira, don't you think Shakira and Kai should stay with us?"

"We barely know them."

"Yes, I know, but I like Shakiria, she seems to be very nice. Kai is also fine."

"I don't know."

"They are experiments of the humans just like us. Then we can go to the Lupains."

"Without me, if the Lupains arrest me, they will kill me."

"This would happen to us too," said Shakiria.

"We have captured countless Lupains. That was our mission," Kai said.

"Until they locked us for dissection" Shakiria said.

"I have killed about 150 of them!"

"150? That much?"

"Timor, Sev and the others killed several hundred," said Kai.

"The Lupains will understand, it was not you, the humans did this. They have used you, they have used us."

"And if not? I can fight against maybe ten Lupains with my Lupain weapon. Now I only have a gun," said Akira.

"Don't fight anymore, I don't want you to kill one more Lupain, General Myers is our enemy," Shane said.

"Yes, I know Shane. I know you and the others. You're like me, with no memories and no past. But these other Lupains ... I do not know if I ever will or can return."

"We'll be fine, especially with Ari," Shane said.

"I need to talk with you two."

"With us?"

"Yes, please follow me. Shane wait here," Akira said, walking out the room.

They went outside.

Shane followed them discreetly and looked through the window.

"What's up?"

"Shane should stay with you, it's too dangerous for him. He is not a warrior, nor a soldier. I will go again in the bunker."

"What will you do there?"

"You've seen Sev, the others are just like him. Just as I was before. I have to get them out of there."

"What about the Lupains?"

"Forget the Lupains, they have long given us up. We are not like them, we can't even talk with them. We are strange. Why should they help us?" Asked Akira.

"There are also normal Lupains there in the bunker, they were captured, until they end up like us."

"If I could kill General Myers, this whole project would be over."

"Why are you so sure?"

"I just know it. Some people, even down there, working as Carol and O'Hara, they are on our side. They are not the only ones. If I go down there I do not know whether I'll be back. With only human weapons I won't get far. "

"Why are you doing it anyway?"

"Look at us. What these and other humans have made of us. This man named Myers is just insane. I have to stop him."

"That's why you want to go down there, to kill a human?"

"No, Carol said down there was a new species. If I can I will stop it."

"You're not an army, the Lupains will stop them!"

"What if the Lupains come too late? They know as much about this species as we do."

"What should we do in your opinion?"

"Shane has an apartment far away from here. He got it from Carol. Drive by car or run there. Don't follow me and take care of Shane. You have enough money and weapons there for months," said Akira.

"We barely know each other?"

"Yes, I know. But I have such great fear that something might happen to him. With you it is safer than with me. You have money, weapons and a good hiding place, no one will find you in this area."

"Okay, Akira thanks for the trust, we will take good care of Shane."

"And maybe of Ari too, I'll talk to him. If he can't say what I want to know I'm leaving. You can try with him to contact the Lupains. You ought to hide in the apartment in case something goes wrong."

"What can go wrong?"

"They might know of you, just like me."

"Understand."

"I go back in and talk to Ari. Tell Shane nothing, I want to teach it to him gently," said Akira.

Shane went back into the living room and sat down on the floor, he began to cry.

Akira came silently closer to him.

"What is it Shane?" Asked Akira.

"I heard you. You just want to go back there again."

"I have to stop them, Shane. Understand it."

"You don't have to go there alone."

"But I have to, what if the plan with the Lupains does not work. What if they don't listen to us and Ari is no help."

"We haven'tt even tried it yet."

"Try to understand, I have to do it. Alone I get easier in there."

"Maybe you die!"

"I don't even know who I am, I have nothing to lose."

"Just because you don't care whether you die or not, it doesn't mean that I don't care too," cried Shane and pushed Akira aside.

"You won't decide where I go!" Shouted Shane, throwing the apartment keys and the USB stick at Akira.

Shane ran furiously past Shakira and Kai.

He climbed over the wall of the scrap yard and disappeared.

"What's with him?" Asked Kai.

"We have to run after him," said Shakiria.

"No, you look after Ari. I'll handle it," Akira said.

He ran through the junkyard gate and looked around, but there was no trace of Shane.

'Where did he go?', Akira thought.

He concentrated and scented Shane's track.

He ran through the streets without camouflage.

A waitress dropped all drinks in shock as he ran past a cafe.

"A Lupain" she cried.

Guests were running in panic in the cafe, her expression seemed so frightened as if she had seen a ghost.

A man ran away of Akira, he fell several times on the ground and just ran on.

'What's going on here? Are humans so afraid of me?' He thought and ran on.

Shane's trail led Akira in a small side street.

"Shane are you here?" He shouted.

But he got no response, he looked behind a green garbage bin.

But Shane was not in the alley.

'Where is he?' Akira wondered and looked around.

He noticed a fire escape, it leaded to the roof of a skyscraper.

'Whether he went up there?' He asked himself and sniffed one of the rungs.

"He must have gone up there, I can smell it," he said quietly to himself.

Akira climbed along the fire escape, on the way up he ran past a window. A woman was cooking a stew there. When she saw Akira she dropped the cigarette from her mouth.

He ignored her and kept climbing until he arrived exhausted on the roof.

"Shane!" He snorted.

"Are you here?" He asked.

"Go away!" Shouted Shane.

Akira walked slowly toward the voice, but nowhere Shane was seen.

"Shane where are you?" He asked.

But Shane did not answer, Akira ran to the end of the roof and looked around.

Nowhere was Shane. A low wail he could hear underneath the roof.

Shane sat there lost in thought.

"Shane, come up."

"Leave me alone."

Akira carefully climbed over the roof on a narrow ledge and sat down next to Shane.

Shane turned his head to the side and slid to the side.

"This is a beautiful view right?" Asked Akira and crossed his legs.

"It's just a human city."

"Listen, I'm sorry, it was perhaps too selfish, just to want in there again."

"Yes, it is!"

"It's just so strange to have someone who might miss me. I don't have much on this planet. Our memories are away and we will never be the same as before."

"What about Ari, he can tell you who you are. Maybe you still have a family?"

"I don't even know if it was worth saving him. Maybe humans have done something with him too. Maybe he never wakes up again or is unable to speak."

"Even if he doesn't know who you are, maybe he knows your family?"

"I don't want to get to know any strangers, especially after all that I've done for the humans. I couldn't even imagine that they want to see me again."

"That may be, but promise me simply that you'll never go back to this base. You don't have to stop these creatures and Myers. You've already done enough. Without you the three Lupains wouldn't be here today."

"Shane, you took care of me and saved my life. Without you, I would have bled to death miserably. You helped me to free Ari, although you didn't have it. You wanted to free the two from the lab. In fact, you have saved us."

Shane moved closer to Akira: "I'll stay with Shakiria and Kai, only if you stay with us too. We somehow get help from the Lupains. They will free the others, destroy this species and the military."

"All right little one" Akira said, putting his arm around Shane.

Shane looked forward and gently put his hand on Akira's leg, Akira put his hand on Shane's.

"You can see from here even the junkyard," said Shane.

"Yes, but there is something wrong", his eyes fell on a fire that was in the junkyard.

"We have to get there, the others are still there."

Both climbed onto the roof and ran down the fire ladder.

"Let me go ahead", panted Akira, "I want to see what's going on."

Both ran without stopping all the way to the junkyard.

Gunshots rang out from the square.

"This is certainly the military, I have no weapon. You Shane?"

"No!"

"Damn what should we do now?" Asked Akira.

"We need to look after them."

Akira looked through the door, he saw dozens of dead people, they had completely normal clothes.

He went in cautiously and grabbed one of the guns.

His eyes fell on the burning Hammer.

"Kai, Shakiria, are you here?" Asked Akira.

"Who killed all these soldiers?" He wondered.

He went up to the house with his gun raised.

"Shane, you can come, here is no one anymore."

Akira turned backwards.

"Shane?" He asked and got no answer.

He ran back and noticed a known odor.

'Oh shit. The Lupains were here', he thought.

He looked out of the gate, but Shane disappeared.

He could still hear how someone raised his arm and hit him in the back.

He fell to the ground and saw some Lupains in unknown armor.

Shane was arrested by a white Lupain.

He could still perceive as Shane tried to free himself and called his name.

Then he closed his eyes and lost consciousness.
