Warning: This chapter contains a bit of violence, homosexual references and may be sensitive to those of Eastern background, as I have gave a dragon a Japanese name for a Chinese dragon god with the European trait of loving jewels.

WTF is wrong with me?

This self-questioning and warning has been brought to you (and myself) by the author.

Braedon quickly shoved his bag and books into his locker. Yet another bad day. It seems that these things are happening more and more often.

Braedon weaved his way through the crowd, keeping his tail close and his wits closer. When he made it outside into the fresh air, it was almost a sign of release.

Almost.

The moment was short-lived, since Braedon saw three types of primates standing near the tree he and his group normally hung out under. And through the gorilla's legs, he saw Amato with his nose bleeding.

Something was stirring in Braedon's gut. But it wasn't anger.

It was white hot fury.

He stormed up to the three primates, which were a gorilla, an orangutang and a chimpanzee, and shoved the gorilla around to face him. It is time to stop the school bullies in their act.

"Don't touch him ever again." Braedon threatened, growling to add to the threatening factor.

The gorilla, the leader of this small group, laughed loudly, his pride almost unmatched. He looked back down at the black fox, leering and smiling evilly.

"And what are you going to do about it, huh? Pass out as soon as this fight starts?" He teased, laughing afterwards obviously thinking that it was funny.

The other two laughed after a small delay. It only served to make Braedon's fury flare hotter, an impossible task for anyone.

"'Ey!" Someone behind Braedon yelled.

Two sets of footsteps followed, both belonging to two of Braedon's small group of friends. The one on Braedon's right was Leonardo, a lion of both extreme pride and extreme loyalty, and on Braedon's left was nicknamed 'Scales,' possibly the most richest student in this school by several hundred thousand Fasotae (A/N: the currency of this fic. Think of it as dollars). They only call him 'Scales' because his actual name is far too damn long.

But now the odds were even.

Braedon stood opposite the gorilla, Leonardo with the orangutang, and Scales with the chimpanzee. The tension was thick in the air, and the school soon started to slowly gather around, as they could feel it too.

Braedon decided to give them one last chance to leave before violence erupts.

"Leave now, or be beaten. Your choice will determine what happens." The fox leered back, grinning and punching his open paw in anticipation.

More and more of the students began to crowd around them and, luckily, one of Braedon's female friends took Amato out of the position he was in. Someone started to chant the word 'fight,' hoping to get everyone else to chant along with them. They succeeded, and soon it became a small chant to a full on series of shouts.

"Fight! Fight! Fight!"

And so it was that the three versus three would commence.

The two groups lunged at each other, most emitting a sound relative to species. A roar from Leonardo and calls from the apes. Fists were flung left, right and centre. Some were ducked under, some hit the anthro they were fighting and others hit the ones they weren't fighting.

The teachers that were in the area tried to call it off, but to no avail. The six students would not listen.

That is, until something happened.

Braedon raised his fist to punch the gorilla when said anthro's eyes widened and his body stopped. The fight soon stopped and the crowd gasped. The gorilla raised a shaking finger past Braedon's head and to his fist.

"What is that?" He asked, his voice close to breaking.

Braedon turned his head over to his fist and that's when he saw the reason why.

His fist was covered in darkness!

Braedon was so shocked that he unclenched his fist, making the darkness dissipate into thin air.

'What was all that?' He thought. He didn't have a whole lot of time to think on it, since him and the other fight starters were sent to the one place they feared most.

The principal's office.

They left him for last. And he kept wondering why.

His father sat on his right, looking at the surroundings from his chair. His mother, on the other hand, was typing away on her laptop on the novel she was clearly working on. Braedon himself was looking at the clock, watching time just tick by.

The office door was opened, the gorilla walking out almost whimpering. Two other, more bulky gorillas came out, obviously his parents. Azaz stood, ready for them to be called in. Braedon's mother closed her laptop, placing it into her laptop bag, and stood up. A white-scaled dragon in a business suit stood in the doorway. The principal, in all his pride or glory.

"Braedon, you ready?" The dragon asked.

Braedon nodded and stood. Together, the Reischer family entered the office, the door shutting ominously behind the dragon. Each took a wooden chair around a fancy oak desk. To be honest, Braedon was surprised that there wasn't any jewellery boxes around the office. The principal placed his elbows down onto the desk's surface.

"Now, as you must be aware, Braedon was in a fight this morning. However, that is currently in a secondary position, as of now." The principal began.

Braedon's eyes widened and he gasped at the principal's words.

"B-but, Mr Shinryu.... Surely the fight...." Braedon began, but his mother's hand on his shoulder stopped him from continuing.

"Yes, I know, the fight is the more pressing matter. However, you are smart enough to not get into scuffles such as this. And every student on Loscade should be smart enough to not fight." The principal continued. He breathed out, a small puff of smoke coming out of his nostrils. "However, it is what happened that stopped the fight is what I want to talk about."

Braedon's parents looked at the teenage vulpine, who wanted the chair to swallow him to avoid the gazes.

"What happened, Braedon?" His mother asked sternly.

Braedon really didn't want to answer this. But, he had to.

"I was going to punch the gorilla in the face, but, before I could, my fist covered itself in darkness." Braedon explained.

"And did you hit him with it?" His father asked.

Braedon shook his head. "No. I was shocked enough that I opened my fist and.... the darkness disappeared."

Braedon's father sighed and laid his head in his paws. "Where's that crazy panda when you need her?" He mumbled.

"Well, now that it is out of the way, time to talk about the fight." Mr Shinryu said.

Later:

Braedon collapsed into his bed, exhausted from the lecture from his parents.

He does know better. But no one ever hits his boyfriend and gets away with it.

No pay and no training for two weeks.

However, it was a fair price to pay. Although his father had a rough spar with him for Braedon losing his temper before the fight, it was well worth it.

His phone started ringing. Braedon picked it up and looked at the name on the screen.

It was Amato.

Braedon accepted the call and placed it to his ear.

"Hey, Amato." Braedon said into the phone.

He could hear crying over the other end.

"I-" Amato began over the phone.

"Do not apologise to me, Amato. It was not your fault." Braedon snapped. "And whenever it comes to you, I would do anything for you."

"But you, Scales and Leonardo got into trouble for fighting. I don't want it to happen again." Amato said, not crying anymore.

"But it was worth it. I would get into trouble just to see you either happy or safe."

There was a short pause, broken by one word from Amato. "Charmer."

Braedon chuckled. With that out of the way, they soon talked a small part of the night away before finally hanging up on each other and falling to sleep.
