Lost friends

The high summit of the White Mountains was windy today. The power and force blowing snow and ice all around the caravan and its occupants like waves on a beach. They were all rapped up so all you could see was a pare of dark mysterious eyes. The men walked on the outside of the carts to protect them from falling off the edge or a surprise attack. The females rode in the carts, bundled with their young in big blankets. The clothes worn were that of middle class citizens, natural colors with little to no taters of frays. The cloaks of the men were mostly brown with black cloth covering their faces. The women the same minus white cloth covered their faces. The crest of there clan was etched in the side on the carts and on the cloaks as well. The crest consisted of a horse shoe print with a sword and arrows crossed in the middle. This let people know their class and occupation. They were guardians of the king's land and friends on the outlands as well. The caravan pushed on slowly, almost on the down hill side of the pass. They topped the hill and could see down in the valley below. I was just coming into spring and the flowers and the tree were blooming. The valley was painted in deep greens pinks and purples, with reds and yellows sprinkled in between them. To the south of the pass was the castle of the king, spiking out of the grown like a gray sword. It was huge, the largest castle in all the kingdoms from the blue sea to the sand hills. The leader of the caravan lifted his fist; the caravan came to a halt. He turned and pointed at two men on the left of the first cart.

"Sweep the road below, make sure it is safe." With a booming voice and a single motion of his fist the two warriors made haste down the trail.

"Sythe!" He called out over the caravan. A young warrior came to his side and stood at attention.

"Yes father?" The boy called out, his cloak wipping about in the cold wind.

"I want you to cover the left, but first tell Brohn to fall back and cover the rear." Another order and a wave of his hand and Sythe nodded and briskly walked back to the last cart. The leader then turned and motioned the caravan to continue moving. With a steady jerk the men pulling the carts sprang into action and fallowed. Sythe nodded his head to Brohn to confirm the order and ran up to new place. He looked ahead at his father and smiled under his cloak, admiring his natural ability to lead.

"I will be like him one day, one day." Sythe said to himself.

It was mid afternoon as the caravan started to reach the first groves of trees. The weather had changed from a windy cold hell to a warmer calmer day. Feeling the change in the air Sythe dropped down his face cover and removed his heavy cloak. He placed them on the cart he was walking next to and removed all of the heavy clothing, leaving him in only his brown loin cloth and his sword draped across his back, his fit young body now exposed to the world. An average height for his age but and beautiful horse to look at, his black fur shining in the sun and his in shape body rippling with every step. Many warriors fallowed him in removing their clothes, putting them on the carts and stretching their arms and breathing deep.

"We will rest here for a moment." The leader said with a low voice, noticing his warriors removing articles of clothing.

"How far are we Thrush from the castle?" A voice called from the back of the group.

"Three, maybe four hours." Thrush called back, still looking ahead. The two warriors returned to the caravan, they had removed their heavy clothes as well.

"Sir, the road is clear all the way to town, and the weather should be sunny all the way." The soldier snapped as stiff as a board while addressing Thrush, showing his discipline in his training.

"Good, take a rest and we will continue shortly." Nodding at the soldiers and turning back to look at the caravan, scanning it over to make sure everyone was accounted for. He looked over to his son who was getting a drink in the creek near by. Seeing an opportunity to talk to his son he started to walk over and stops behind him. Sythe was bent down cupping water in his hands and drinking it slowly as some water ran down his chin. He turned his ears to better hear the approaching horse, turning his head to see it was his father. Standing up he smiled at his father, and shook the water off of his hands.

"Water's nice and cold." He said as he wiped his face off and waited for an answer.

"Good, son I wanted to talk to you about what the ceremony will be like tomorrow. Now I know you have heard about it but there are some things you probably don't know." Thrush said with a very serious look on his face.

"Yes, what are they father?" Sythe chimed in, interested it what his father had to say.

"You know that tomorrow you will be knighted by his majesty and you will be given a place in his army. The things you don't know is that you will not see me for two years when you are given your assignment. I have put in a request that you do not serve under me for your first two years so you can learn respect for your fellow soldiers as well as develop your ability to be a leader." Sythe was taken back by the news and couldn't find any words to say. He stood there like a statue processing the news.

"I know this is a shock but don't worry, I will tell the king of your many skills and abilities so you might get a place on his royal guard." Knowing the news was hard to take Thrush smiled and tried to lighten the mood.

"I...wow...ah...thank you father." The words fell out of his mouth in blurbs and he couldn't hide his face of sadness. He couldn't imagine not serving under his father, he couldn't imagine not seeing him for two years. All this was so hard to take and made him a little weak in the knees.

"I hope you understand why I did this, my father did the same thing and I am now the general of the mountain clans. I did it so you can learn from the leaders in the kingdom to further you skills as a leader. It saddens me to see you like this but I promise it will work out in the end." Nodded and turned away from his son, hiding the ears in his eyes and he walked away. Sythe couldn't move, his heart was torn from the news. He would be all alone in the castle, if that's were he is placed. He slowly made it back over to the carts and tried to look happy, but didn't. The other soldiers looking at him, knowing the news he just received. With a booming voice his father called out the order to assemble and get ready to move out. Sythe quickly shook off the grief and returned to his post on the left of his father, knowing it was a long road ahead of him.

They reached the walls of the castle and continued around to the gate. The caravan was met by the sound of horns blowing in the towers to announce there arrival as the gate keeper called out that the general was at the gate. Slowly the gate fell and slammed against the ground, making a dull thud. The order was given by Thrush to move on and the caravan crossed over the bridge. The streets of the city surrounded by the walls quickly surrounded them as they pushed there way through. People were calling out to them to try and sell there goods. An array of species walked around, wolves and cats and Bovines and other horses combed the streets. Sythe had been here before but it still was over whelming and exciting to be here. His time he was not so enthused though, his mind was still stuck on the news given to him up in the pass. He knew that most of the men that were made to serve under the king in his royal guard never left the castle. He hadn't seen many of his friends that he grew up with in three or four years. His best friend went to join the army and ended up here and has never been back. The thought of his best friend only made his heart even sadder. He was absolutely in love with Onych his friend and was devastated when he got the news he was leaving to go to the army. He remembered how they would spend the summer playing in the trees and would fall asleep in the tall grass. A smile came to his face as he thought about he first time they made love. How it was snowing out side and this father was at the town meeting and he was supposed to stay home with Onych. They kissed for the first time that night, making Sythe true to Onych and not sleeping with anyone else since he left. With the thought of that his heart threw out a spark of hope, he was here in the castle and so was Onych. He might be able to see him, and if he was to be stationed here, he might get to work side by side with him. The thought put a big smile on his face and he picked his head up and walked so proud and excited all the way up to the palace.

The palace was a fine place to look at, and even finer place to live Sythe thought. He looked up and the ceiling and the cloth hanging from it. The hall they walked down was giant, stretching a massive thirty feet in the air. Soldiers lined the hall ever ten feet, dressed in armor that was shinny and impressive. He smiled at the thought that he might get to were one of those. A big hit with the men he thought and he stared at them. The group of men finally reached the doors at the end of the hall way and two guards opened them. They walked through into a room that was massive. It had many hall ways leading in different directions and each was marked by a sign next to it.

"General, you will be staying in the west hall, the rest of your men will stay in the north hall. Dinner is at nine and if you need anything there will be maids there to assist you." The guard said and saluted Thrush.

"Very well." Thrush motioned his hand and the guard bowed and left, he then turned and looked at his men.

"I will see you all at dinner, get some rest and get your stuff put away." The men nodded and with out a word started down the north hall way. Sythe was the last one to walk by his dad and he looked at him and smiled.

"See you at dinner." His happy mood made his father look at his strange but then he smiled back and turned to go down the hall to his room. Sythe hurried down the hall to get to his room to put his stuff up so he could start to search the castle for Onych. He hurried as fast he could with all of his stuff over his shoulder. When out of no were a big set of arms grabbed him and pulled him into the corner. Sythe was slammed up against the massive body and brought into a big hug, almost squeezing him to death.

"Huh, get off me, get off right now!" Sythe blurted out. Then the body spoke to Sythe and he froze, the voice was very familiar.

"Is that the way you treat you best friend?" It was Onych, Sythe couldn't believe it. He turned and hugged back not even looking up to see his face.

"I can't believe its you!" He said with excitement and he hugged into the massive horse. He then realized he scared the crap out off him and pushed out of his arms.

"You could have just popped out from around the corner instead of scaring me to death!" Sythe put his hands on his hips and tried to keep a straight face but he couldn't.

"You look so mad at me I can tell." Onych said sarcastically and reached out and pulls Sythe back into another hug.

"I missed you Sythe." He said holding him close.

"I missed you too."

They stood there and help each other for what seemed a long time when Onych broke the hug and looked down at Sythe.

"You don't have a boyfriend do you? Cause that would suck for me." He said smiling.

"No, I haven't had one ever since you left." The Statement made Onych smile even bigger.

"So it is safe to kiss you then right?" He reached down and locked lips with Sythe, not giving his a chance to respond. Sythe reached up and grabbed the back of his head and held him in the kiss, his tongue escaping his mouth and diving into Onych's. Onych picked up Sythe and laid him up against the wall. Sythe dropped his gear and rapped his legs around Onych's well build waste. The two horses were lost in the moment and two guards walked by and were startled at what they saw.

"HHMMM! Shouldn't you two get a room!?" Onych and Sythe broke the kiss and blushed and Onych let Sythe down.

"We were just on our way there." With a nod the two guards started down the hall. Onych looked at Sythe and started laughing.

"Grab your stuff and I will show you to your room." Still laughing he turned and started walking down the hall. Sythe quickly gathered his bag and started after him. Walking a little behind him to admire his body in his little loin cloth and how his white and red fur was almost perfect. Standing ten feet he was a big horse and had the equipment to match. Sythe always was so turned on by his body and his size, and how he could say anything and make it sound so hot.

Only standing seven feet Sythe was quite a bit smaller that his friend but he was also four years younger too. They had been friends for a long time and they were each others first. They would only get to yiff once or twice a month due to training but when they did it was absolutely amazing. Sythe could remember being so sore and hardly being able to walk the next morning after many of them.

Sythe ran up behind Onych and wraps his arms around his waist, throwing him off balance a bit.

"Gods, I missed your sexy ass so much!" Sythe smiled as he squeezed Onych's waist.

"I missed you too." He smiled and grabs Sythe's arms and pulled him to his side.

"Here you are, this is your room sexy." Onych pushes the door open and waves the young horse in.

"Would you like help putting your stuff away?" Onych said in a sexy tone.

"Mmm, yes please." Sythe inquired back, looking at Onych from over his shoulder. Both horses walked in the room and the door slowly closed behind them.
