One thing to another led us to this day,

The day where we can finally be able to wield our weapons to their fullest potential. Somehow we got excited on our first day of weapon training.

I know it's not going to be a cakewalk. But for our dreams, we will succeed.

Normal POV

It's morning in the courtyard of the palace. Nobles chitchatting while their children run around to pass the time. And the three friends are no exemption. "Tag you're it, Reyna!" as Rum tags the princess.

"Hey! No fair!" as she starts to chase the others. "Come on Reyna! You can do it!" as Harry cheers on. "Ok!" and she found her target. "Tag you're it, Ku-uya!" as she tags a young lion that is wearing a red cape and a yellow vest. "Oh it's on!" as he starts to look at everybody.

"It's nice being young." A tall lion wearing a gold crown said to Lauan. "Yes it is. But I am afraid that being young distorts reality." As he sips his cup of tea resting at a table. "I believe it's the opposite, Lauran." And the lion takes a deep breath.

"After all, children are our future. That means they can change reality as they want it to be." And Lauran stood up. "I just want this kingdom to prosper, Anli." As the king stood up. And Anli called out to the hare as he was leaving. "All kings want that. Don't you think that being exposed to the outside world can do good to your son and daughter?"

"My mind is set. Don't make me repeat myself, Anli. You may be an ally but..." as he turns around. "I see your presence in Spafera's life as a threat." And he leaves the veranda. "Young people... Can see reality the way I see it. Can be changed for the better or worse. It's a shame you are close-minded about this." As he turns towards the direction where the other went.

"You are spineless and you are not willing to stand your ground and take your chances." And he looks back to the group of children playing tag. "Tag!" one kid shouted. "Good luck to the two of you." As he focuses his vision on the hare siblings.

A few minutes later

The children are lying down in the soft grass.

"*Sigh* That was tiring." As the ursine wipes the sweat off his forehead. And a lion rises up to sit down. "It sure was, but it was fun. Don'cha think?" as he lies back down to the lush soft grass. "Yup! I wonder when can we do this again?" as Reyna looks up. "Oh!" as Harry leaps off the ground to face everyone. "We better get to the main hall. It seems lunch is ready."

"Oh good! I am hungry anyway." As Ku-uya stands up. "I better call dad to join us. See ya." and the lion left the three. "Let's get going then. We'll meet them there." Reyna told the others as the group set off to the royal hall to find the dining room.

Meanwhile in the staircase going towards the main hall of the castle

"Dad!" as the cub approaches his father. "What is it Ku-uya?" as he hugs his only son. "Let's have lunch." Anli nods and smiles, letting the lion cub lead him to the dining room. 'Hmmm. I am curious about that bear that always hang around with Reyna and Harry. I ought to ask who he is later.' he thought to himself.

In the dining hall

The dining hall has an extremely long table stationed at the center of the room. And the room is covered in red carpets, curtains and table cloths that are decorated with gold sigils that would add appeal to the décor of the room. A chandelier hangs above the middle of the room, mostly made of glass that has been delicately crafted by the best glass smiths of the kingdom.

But the glass makes a beautiful effect. When you move the light will shine differently. It seems to be enchanted to change the colors of the light. And at the far end of the room where there is another entrance leading to the garden, you can see a beautiful blonde Lepian that is dressed with a simple but dignifying blue dress with a few gold and silver pieces jewelry to match her gold and silver crown.

"Mom!" as the siblings ran towards their mother to hug them. "Oh hello Harry, Reyna and Rum. You are just in time for lunch." And the queen led the group to a smaller circular table outside the main hall. The table is filled with wonderfully cooked meat along with other dishes such as prawns, oyster and of course a lot of vegetables to go along with the dishes.

"Oh look who's here." As the group turns to their right to find a tall lion well-dressed with a crown and a cub beside him. "Oh, greetings Anli, it would seem that you would be joining us for lunch." As everyone exempt the ursine bowed until he realized a few seconds later that he was supposed to bow.

"I'm sorry." As Rum apologized to everyone. "It's all right. I believe that I haven't introduced the two of you. Aurum." As Fera looks towards Anli. "This is King Anli. The king of Zenemos. Anli this is Aurum Barazan." And after the queen introduced the two. The lion reaches out his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you Aurum. I have to say, you look dashing." as the bear took the king's hand for a shake. Making the both of them smile.

"You can call me 'Rum', my lord." As they let go of each other's hands an unexpected sound came out of a certain person's stomach. "*Growl*" as the lion cub blushed a bit. Everybody grinned and laughed. "Well I see everybody's hungry. Let's take our seats and eat." As the king makes his way to the table.

The group quickly took their seats, Anli and Fera sat beside each other. Rum and Harry decided to sit together while the other two sat beside their parents. "I have been curious for a while." As the bear consumes his food. "How old are you Ku-uya." And the lion answered "I am ten. I will be eleven this winter." And then an idea popped up from the bear's mind.

"Harry will be turning ten in a few days' time. We are going to travel to the Avilis River so. If you can, why not join us?" and the cub started to nudge his father. "Can we?" as the lion smiles widely and nods. "Yay!" as Reyna jumps up "The more the merrier and it'll be way more fun with Ku-uya around." And the four children nod.

The queen on the other hand stares endearingly at the lion. 'I wish Lauran can be like this.' And then out of nowhere the lion calls out Fera's name eyebrows raised. "Oh. Sorry" as she forces a smile to make the lion feel better but he knows her better than that.

"Oh don't do that to me Fera. I have known you for the longest time. I know what are you thinking, but sadly you know that it's just not possible." And then the lion pulls the queen to a hug, the hare was hesitant at first but then she returned the gesture a few moments later.

"Uhhh Mom/Dad/Highnesses?" as the other four speak their phrases simultaneously. The two childhood friends broke away trying not to look at one another, blushing deeply with an embarrassed look at their faces.

"Dad by any chance is Harry and Reyna my half-brother and sister?" and the hare siblings followed up with a similar question to the queen. 'I don't get what is going on, but I feel a tense atmosphere coming from the two.' as the only person who did not catch on, Rum thought to himself.

"N-no my dear." As the queen tries to continue eating normally. "W-we are just good friends is all." The lion started to sweat bullets. Suddenly there was a person who popped out of nowhere. It was the great magician Jalkaw approaches the group while stroking his black beard downward. "Long time no see Anlistenus." And he grins at the king. It seems that he hasn't seen the king of Zenemos embarrassed for a while.

"Come with me now." As the wise cracking albino lion motioned the king to come with him. They went to the far side of the room to speak privately and then the wizard opened his mouth "Awww old friends must be a nice thing to have, I find it cute that you two still acted like a couple. Just like back then."

"Don't tease me like that Kaw-Kaw!" as he jabs the wizard at the arm. "Hey, hey that was uncalled for." As the wizard strikes back. "When are you going to tell him?" and the king cleared his throat and said "I don't know. I can't break my son's heart again, his mother just "died". But in reality she left us."

"*Sigh* Oh well, I hope that you both can be happy or happier than me." And he poofs out of the scene. 'I hope' he thinks to himself as he returns to the table. "So." As Ku-uya speaks up. "What are you two exactly?" And finally Anli fessed up. "Me and your mother are actually best friends."

"See your grandparents met me in this city." As the queen points at the city in front of them. "They had a son and that son happens to be my one and only friend. When I was a child I had a nice life. I grew up being the center of attention. Being a nobleman's child is not as pleasurable as the others say to be." And she took a deep breath.

"I am not proud of it. But I had no choice, every time I go to a gathering. I feel like I was lying to myself. I wish to be greeted genuinely instead of chasing after my parent's riches. Eventually, I went to the park where I usually spend my time bent under the corner where I always cry." The lion and hare started to smile as nostalgia takes them.

"There was a particular lion that came to me that day. "Hey. Are you ok?" as he pats me on the back. I nodded my head sideways to say no, of course he would ask me why. And I said "Because I have to pretend instead of being myself. I can't speak my mind and I am not free to do what I want to do." After that he told me to stay here and wait for him."

"I waited for a short while until he came back with a piece of bread and an apple. "Here." As he hands the food to me. "Thank you. What is your name?" as I ask the cub. "I am Anlistenus Vasan. People usually call me Anli." And the girl almost choked as she heard the cub's last name. "Vasan! You are a Prince!"

"Of course that came to me as a surprise that a prince from a far-away land just gave me food. Not only that but he surprised me even more as he asked me this question. "Are you happy with your life?" And he held my hand. "N-no." I replied."

The children listen attentively as the other two started to get lost in their memory land. "Ummm..." as the lion waves his hand in front of Fera snapping out of her daze "Oh sorry, anyhow I never would have thought that someone would ask me "Are you happy?". I nodded frantically. Suddenly he grabbed my hand to lead me to the castle. The king at the time is Arrolus, your grandfather was actually the one who forged the alliance between the 'Leoan' and the 'Lepan' races."

"My friend directly led me to the room where his parents stay. He yelled out Mom and Dad. Then two Leoans came to me and asked for my name. I am nervous as it is the first time I met royalty. And Anli just smiles and I finally spoke up. "I am Spafera Xalome. It's a pleasure your highnesses." And they asked me this question. "You are suffering are you?"

"How did you know?" The two nods at me and led me to the table where they invited me to sit. "My dear, I know it's hard to be one of the nobles. We always have to put up a fake front for the sake of others." As the lion starts the conversation. "Spafera.." the lioness called out to me."

"If you can't speak your mind then how are you going to expect for people to respect you out of respect instead of petty things like riches." I widened my eyes as I heard the lioness gave me advice. And that is the answer I was looking for. "Th-thank you! Your highnesses!" I gave them a bow. "Your most certainly welcome my dear." The lion replied.

"Now will you excuse me. I will speak my mind." I looked at Anli and hugged him. "Here is my way of saying thank you." I pecked him right at the cheek, after that I said my goodbyes and closed the door.

"Eventually I was approached by the king. Asking me to meet his son, I was hesitant at first but I accepted and surprisingly enough I was not the only person who was nervous. Then I saw the most adorable hare I ever laid my eyes on."

"And that person was your father." As she looks at the siblings. "We hanged out together. Me, Lauran and Anli. After a few years Lauran proposed to me and I said yes."

"There you have it. That is how we and your father met." The children clapped as Harry remembered something they should have not forgotten speaking of Leoans. "We are late!" as the boys ran towards the wizard's chamber. Then the two ran so fast that they ended up crashing through the door.

"Ok then. Next time I won't tolerate tardiness. Am I to be understood?"

Aurum's POV

I am actually happy that I can get to use the Earthbreakers once more. "Ready?" our teacher asks us. "Ready." And we brought out our weapons. "First step is..." we were in suspense as out teacher pulls out a few books out of a shelf. "Reading."

We and especially me, are disappointed at what events just transpired. With a sigh, we made our weapons disappear.

"Why reading?" I asked the lion and he sighed. "It's best for you to know what you can do with your weapon. A weapon is only as good as it's wielder after all. Now get started!" I frantically get the stack of books on his table to make him shut up as fast as possible.

So far I have been reading for a short while, I enjoyed every minute of it. I did not know that some weapons are actually live creatures. And for one as well, magic can be performed with your weapons, amplifying the power and intensity of the spell. But the most intriguing of all is that some of these weapons can change if the user learns how to use their 'desires'.

And beside me is Harry. Snoring as he drools on the table, of course he covered himself with a tall book. Pretending to read, I also saw another sleeping figure right at the mage's table. "Wow. No wonder Harry sleeps in classes, he may be smart but he can't get it if he does not pay attention. I better tell this cat to stop sleeping in front of his students." I sigh returning to my good read.

These books are no joke. It has got to be at least 6 inches and the pages are of the sizes of small canvases. I even think that it might take 4 days just to finish a book this big. But I thought wrong. In fact I was able to finish a book by sundown. "Finally!" I closed the book hard enough to make a loud boom.

"Yai!" I startled the other two in the room. I just shrugged at their reaction stretching my back right after I got off my seat. "Oh! It seems we have a reader over here." As my teacher looks at me. "So here's a reward for you." And he hands me a regular sized book. "This book is a compilation of basic exercises that improves your ability to use your weapon."

I thank the wizard only to see him blush, a light shade of red while he scratches the back of his head. "It's n-nothing" and he turns to the prince. "AS FOR YOU!" he slams two books of the same size as I read were placed on the table. "YOU HAVE BEEN SLEEPING IN CLASS AGAIN. SINCE YOU GOT YOURSELF A FEW HOURS OF SLEEP, YOU'LL HAVE NO TROUBLE READING THESE!"

"AWW COME ON!" as the already-grouchy prince lifts up the gigantic books. "Class Dismissed." Right after he told us we are dismissed I raced to the door to make sure Harry will have an easier time carrying his books. "Thanks" and we left the room.

"This sucks! I have to read these!" as Harry started to stomp around. "Your fault for sleeping in Sir Jalkaw's class. Again." "You know I am not fit for heavy reading." And we approached the main hall once more.

"Oh look who slept in class again." A perky female voice I know too well started to tease my classmate. "Come on pinky! At least you don't read ridiculously huge books for class." And then the smaller hare shrieked at her brother as she attempts to assault her brother.

"Take it back!" I quickly grabbed the girl right at the back of her dress lifting her with one arm. "Can you give me a break you two? Seriously my arms feel heavy thanks to having me to yank the both of you in the air just for you to stop fighting." And then they heard a sound of laughter.

"It seems that Rum might be the eldest among the three of you." And I see a familiar pair of felines approach us. "Oh good evening my lord, Hi there Ku-uya." "Hi Rum! Are you ok over there?" the cub ask me.

"Yup. But I think we ought to get to the table, that class made me so hungry that if a certain princess keeps struggling I might be tempted to eat her." I leered at Reyna while bearing my teeth. "Don't eat me!!! OK I WILL STOP!" She immediately stopped struggling as I slowly put her to the ground.

Normal POV

'Ursans are scary!' everybody thought to themselves as they continue to sweat looking at Rum. And immediately he smiles at everyone "Let's go eat." And then all of their fearful thoughts turned into the most peaceful images. 'and cute.'

And that's how the first day of training ended.

A few hours later.

"I WISH I HAVE READ THE BOOK!" and the poor hare prince did not get to sleep until dawn, finishing his assignment. "Oh well. I ought to do better if I want to get out of here." As Harry drags himself to bed, not bothering to cover himself.

And behind his door was a smiling lion swinging his tail slowly back and forth. "You can do it, my student." the white lion closed the door gently, leaving the tired Lepan to his peace.
