Counter Earth Chronicles

Chapter 68: Will You Please Keep The Crazy To Yourself?! (All Or Nothing Part Two)

Day 232 continued

After the latest 'victim' of the dance competition was carried away, the gorilla continued the very brief orientation at the building's entrance.

"Alright you four these are your contestant numbers. Wear them at all times. Now follow me." The other gorilla said ushering us into the building.

Lurie, Sorren, Tauren and myself attached the numbers to our clothing as we climbed a flight of steps to the second floor of the club. We were numbers 37, 38, 39 and 40 respectively which meant that there were thirty six other contestants competing against us for the grand prize.

We soon stepped into a large 250 x 250 foot room which was completely barren except for its four tall walls, a high ceiling and a pyramid shape on the floor- the dance stage.

"Everyone spread out we will be starting shortly." The gorilla warned. "You forty are the last contestants in this competition."

"What happened to the others?" A nicely dressed stallion next to Sorren asked.

"They all have been slaughtered." The he beast giggled. "Good luck contestants- you are going to need it!"

As the gorilla left the floor, the lights dimmed and the room turned pitch black. Tauren and I started fidgeting nervously not knowing what was to come next.

(Did we indeed come to a slaughter?!)

"Welcome contestants to the Dance Revolution! Are you ready to dance, dance, dance? I am your friendly announcer Mr. Rock and next to me is Mr. Roll our music coordinator for this evening's events. We will be offering the play by play for tonight's competition!"

(Play by play for a dance competition? Now that was different.)

"Our contestants will be playing for a brand new Solstice Solar! This solar powered hover car seats six and can travel anywhere the sun is shining and 200 miles when it is not. Now who wouldn't want one of those Mr. Rock?"

They seemed to come out of nowhere and were everywhere at once. Both the announcer and the disc jockey had bright sparkling clear voices- it was like you could tell they were both smiling as they spoke back and forth to each other. Either that or they really loved their jobs.

As they were speaking a holographic image of a red convertible sports car appeared in the center of the stage and slowly spun around briefly for all the contestants to see before disappearing. It looked quite impressive- especially to Sorren.

"Indeed! It looks like we have yet another lively group competing for the grand prize Mr. Roll, the fourth today."

"That's right Mr. Rock. Unfortunately this will be very last group for the contest. Yeah, that's right- we have run out of contestants and no one else is brave enough or crazy enough to step up. So these forty are it! Which is good- I am about ready to call it quits as well!"

(Damn, those voices were so bright and clear- must be the sound system.)

"Alright Mr. Roll how about we tell our eager contestants the rules of the competition?"

"Thought you would never ask Mr. Rock- the rules are simple the contestants are to dance, dance, dance in time to the music. Anyone who stops will be disqualified. Disqualified contestants will be removed from the dance stage through a variety of means. The last beast standing wins the grand prize. It is that simple!"

Of course they were over simplifying it. As the trio and I would soon find out.

"Alright Mr. Roll let's begin shall we?"

"Righty-o Mr. Rock! All together now! Four, Three, Two, One- GO!"

Instantly the dark room roared to life with strobe lighting flashing on the ceiling, laser lights pulsing on the floor of the dance stage all complemented by a large view screen toward the rear of the room. Oddly the screen did not display the mysterious announcers or the audience who we assume was watching us on the floor above. It only showed us the contestants.

Tauren and I stood gawking in awe unaware that the competition had started. Well I was gawking, Tauren was shaking.

"Looks like contestants thirty-nine and forty are having trouble starting! That's right! The shock and awe gets them every time Mr. Roll!"

"Perhaps we should change the music order and start out with something softer Mr. Rock!"

"Agreed Mr. Roll! Here is one for all the romantics- Wherever you are whatever you do I will be loving you!"

The first song of the contest was a ballad. It was very soothing and very relaxing just enough for Tauren and myself to snap out of our daze.

"Sorren take Alex! I got Tauren!" Lurie ordered.

"Right!" The dragon responded. "Alex!" I reached out and grabbed the he beast's paws. "Follow my movements and do what I do!"

I did as ordered. Soon both of us were slow dancing to the soothing ballad.

"Like this love!" Lurie said grabbing the bull's paws. "Follow my movements."

*** Wherever you are and whatever you do, I will be loving you! ***

"Careful you two, you came very close to being eliminated." Sorren warned us looking at two other contestants who were still standing still on the stage- apparently dumbfounded or were they hypnotized by the lights or was it just the music?

"Sorry." Tauren and I replied in unison as contestants two and seventeen the horse we had seen earlier and mink simply disappeared from the dance floor!

(Wow, you don't see that every day!)

"And we have our first and second casualty of the competition! Mr. Rock!"

"Yes, Mr. Roll! I just love how those two just faded away- like it was all just a bad dream!"

"I think it was a bad dream for them!"

"Be on your guard and don't take anything for granted!" Lurie warned as the first song ended.

"Well with the close of our first song, everyone out there now has their confidence- right?"

"Then, let's move right along...."

"Hold up! Mr. Rock it looks like our song selection has claimed another casualty!"

The trio and I scanned the room and saw a bat passed out on the floor! That was quick.

"And we have our third casualty! Contestant one has fallen and can't get up! Asleep that is!"

"Gee, and I thought bats were nocturnal Mr. Rock! Thirty-seven contestants left. I think before we bore any beast else we should crank up the bpms! How about a little Paranoia?"

"Let's do it Mr. Roll! Remember contestants to match your movements to the rhythm and syncopation of the music!"

(What did they mean by that?)

As the next song started there was a bright flash and the bat and the previous set were gone! Replaced by a completely new one! Lurie and Sorren ordered myself and Tauren to start moving something; we were no longer slow dancing to some sleepy ballad.

The ballad was replaced by a electronic, artificial, beat driven, pulse pounding instrumental that had to be at least two hundred beats per minute. The transition felt like moving from a crawl to a full gallop instantaneously. Lurie and Sorren were gyrating their bodies to the beat while Taruen and I struggled to keep up flailing our arms, shaking our rumps, but at least we were moving something.

But we weren't the only thing moving. I just happen to look up during the body gyrating to notice the stage had turned into a large circular platform which was moving through a huge long sinuous tunnel?!

(Nice effect.)

The tunnel was mostly dark except that it was illuminated by long yellow arm bands of light trailing the platform or were they supporting the stage?

The new set was odd, wondrous and very, very distracting. Was it real?

**BUMP**

"Hey! Watch where you are going!" A voice said to my left. I had crashed into contestant sixteen, a very brown, very muscular ox while looking at the tunnel. The ox looked like he could give Tauren an easy beat down with just one paw.

"I sorry! I am sorry! Please don't hurt me!" I bleated. Looking down at the ground.

"It is alright little fella! Accidents happen, besides I happen to like apes." He said as he joined me looking at the tunnel. "Hypnotic isn't it?"

"It looks so real! Even the wind from it seems real! It feels like we are actually riding on a platform and could fall off any minute!" I replied. "But that is impossible. It has to be some type of artificial simulation."

"Let's find out for sure!" The he beast said dancing over to contestant twenty three a tan rabbit who was dancing with his lady friend contest twenty four.

(Huh?)

The ox gently tapped the male rabbit on the shoulder. The rabbit looked at him. "Sorry about this. I promise I will make it up to you."

The ox then picked up the rabbit by the scruff of his neck and hurled him off the platform!

"AIIIIIYAAAAAAAA!!" "UMPH!!"

The rabbit screamed as he bounced off a side wall and tumbled backward down the tunnel.

"What did you do to Corey?!" The grey rabbit female said as she ran to confront the ox. She had no sooner stopped dancing then she turned white and shattered into what appeared to be a million little pieces which evaporated when they hit the floor.

"Contestants twenty three and twenty four have been disqualified! By the paws of another contestant!"

"Contestant sixteen you're dangerous!"

The two announcers boomed as the song wore on.

"It's real." The ox said patting me on the head.

"Um, thanks." I said astonished.

"No problem, I will be back for YOU later little fella!"

(ULP!)

It was at that point I realized that I should really dance back to my friends- QUICKLY.

I managed to move back towards them as the song ended, nearly out of breath and shocked at what I had seen.

"Tauren! Lurie! Sorren!" I managed to gasp.

"Take deep breaths Alex!" Lurie ordered me.

"Did you guys see that?!" I asked.

"It looks like the boar was correct, they don't play fair." Tauren stated.

"I thought the 'they' the boar was referring to were the originators of the contest." Lurie added.

"No love. It appears that there are three factors at play here. The music, the set and our fellow contestants. We should be wary of all three!" Sorren said as the next song began.

There was another big flash and the set had changed again to a large purple hexagonal platform floating in mid-air with a vertical graph graphic lining the walls of the room.

"Just when you thought it was over! We have some more Paranoia!"

Mr. Rock or was it Mr. Roll (?) announced. It was the same song but heavily remixed and the BPMs were cranked up even more heavily.

"Oh my!" Tauren gasped. "Are we going to die?"

I looked at my friend and just smiled. I was struggling to keep up to the pulse pounding electronic music which by this time had to be over 300 beats per minute. That still didn't stop me from taking in the moment: I was watching a minotaur struggle to dance in time to the music. It was priceless!

After some three or four agonizing minutes the song finally ended and the room fell silent. I was sweating profusely and the trio were breathing hard.

"That was a great set Mr. Roll! and what was better every beast survived."

"That is right Mr. Rock! But I do have a question for our contestants- sweat? Who is breaking out in sweat?!"

Tauren, Sorren, Lurie and I watched as about five beasts out of the remaining pool of thirty five raised their paws thinking they were stopping for some kind of intermission. They were wrong. I started to raise mine hand as well only to have Sorren quickly swat it down and shake his head.

"Hey! What was that for!!!" I started to say to the dragon when the five beasts who had volunteered that they were sweating suddenly and rudely evaporated!

"Contestants fourteen, ten, four, twenty and thirty five have been eliminated!"

"Why is that Mr. Rock?"

"Most beastials don't sweat! We pant! Everybody knows that!"

"Apparently they didn't. What about that one over there- Mr. Rock?"

"You mean that piggy? Yes, Mr Roll they do sweat- but not that much. Hey twenty six, you have breakfast today?!"

(Did the announcers just razz a contestant?! Man, these guys are unreal!)

"I don't get it!" I said looking at Sorren.

"The announcers were implying that the contestants were humans disguised as beastials." The dragon responded. "Even though they did not specifically come out and say it."

"Wow, if that is true their disguises were very convincing." Tauren added as the next set appeared and the next song started.

Every contestant was on their guard after the last stunt. They weren't going to be duped again. The next song was very cutesy. The trio reacted immediately when the first few notes played.

"Oh no, not that!" The bull exclaimed.

"You gotta be kidding me!" The coyote female said shocked.

"Wha? What's wrong?!" I asked my friends.

"It's Caramelldansen!" The dragon said as the set changed again.

"Caramel- what?"

"This song is too, too cute and happy!" Tauren shouted over the beat that was starting to ramp up.

"Alex, hold your arms slightly over your head and swing your legs and rump left and right in time with the beat and remember to smile!" Lurie ordered me.

*** Dance to the beat! Wave your paws together! Come feel the heat forever and ever! Listen and learn it is time for prancing! Now we are here for Caramelldansen! ***

(Oh my gosh this song is too, too, too cute *squee!*)

I thought to myself as the big screen returned to highlight the dancing contestants. The walls of the room projected virtual graphic equalizers which moved in time to the beat of the cutesy song that was playing.

"Nice moves thirty eight."

"Not an ordinary fella!"

The announcers said complementing Sorren. As all eyes on the dance floor turned to look at and admire the dancing dragon.

"Watch it! He's mine!" Lurie said to the prying eyes.

"I think I finally got it! Watch this!" Tauren exclaimed as he swung his legs and butt in time to the music.

"Hey hey! What was that?!"

"Please don't make me sad anymore!"

Tauren started blushing.

"It's alright love, they weren't talking about you." Sorren said reassuringly.

"We're talking to you thirty nine!"

"I guess they were!" I said laughing. Lurie, Sorren and then Tauren started laughing as well. I looked at them as the song ended and realized we all were starting to have a really good time.

"SQUEE!"

"Uh oh more casualties Mr. Roll!"

"SQUEE!"

"I see it Mr. Rock! It looks like contestants twelve and nineteen have been Caramelldansen-outted!"

Apparently the song had been too cutesy for a otter and lynx who were passed out on the dance floor huge grins across their faces. Both contestants remains turned into spheres of light which rose from the floor to the ceiling of the room and disappeared. Just as the next song started.

"This one is for all the lovers out there! You know who you are! Hit it Mr. Roll!"

The next song was a very romantic, uptempo love song. The stage turned into a huge blue floating square cubic platform overlooking a chasm that was punctuated by multicolored cubes rising and lowering adjacent to the large cube everyone was dancing on. It was quite lovely and very pretty.

*** Love I just gotta have it I believe in love can't be without it! Come to me make your confession love! ***

There was something different about this song- it was sexy, alluring, mesmerizing and hypnotic. Around the dance floor couples were hugging and kissing in time to the music! The ox from earlier was kissing a monkey probably his lover he had alluded to earlier. I also observed a naga and centaur locking lips as well as Lurie and Sorren! Tauren wasn't about to be left out either as the bull picked me up hugged and kissed me on my forehead in time to the music!

"I love you too my dearest!" I said snickering to the minotaur as he danced and danced. "But seriously snap out of it! This is another trick!"

"Um what?!" Taruen said like he was waking up from a dream.

"We have to snap Lurie and Sorren out of it! If they move from dancing to foreplay to um, well you know- they will be disqualified." I warned the bull.

Tauren put me down and quickly danced over to Lurie who was still locking lips with Sorren. He gave the yote girl a pinch on her backside. I reluctantly did the same to the dragon.

"You back with us love?" Tauren said to Lurie and Sorren as they awoke from their trances.

"What happened?" Sorren asked as the song finally ended.

"Another trick?" Lurie added.

"Yup to narrow down the playing field." I added.

"It sure did work!" Tauren said pointing to several couples on the dance floor who were err... um... uh... showing their fellow beastials just how much they loved their significant others.

I counted three couples a cow and rhino, a wolf and kangaroo and goat and deer had stopped dancing and were enjoying each other's company intimately.

"Contestants thirteen, fifteen, eighteen, twenty-two, twenty seven and thirty-one have been disqualified. But please don't stop we are enjoying the show!!"

"YEAH, YEAH FEELS JUST LIKE IT SHOULD!!!! I mean there is a lot of love in here tonight Mr. Rock!"

"Right you are Mr. Roll! Let's give those who are disqualified private accommodations on us for the rest of the evening and remember the 1620 club is not responsible for any lives that were created as direct result of this music set!"

The copulating couples disappeared from the stage in red shaped beams. Like they had been instantly transported to a lover's sweet elsewhere in the club.

"This club has the most interesting stages. Perhaps we should come here more often." I said to the trio.

"Let's do that at a time when we are not competing against our fellow beastials." Lurie said as she locked eyes with the female jackal she had grumbled at earlier outside. The she beast bared her fangs while staring back at Lurie.

"And it looks like we are coming up on the end of our first hour Mr. Roll!"

"Right you are Mr. Rock! Let's have our remaining contestants line up for some synchronized movements!"

At the top of the hour every beast including me formed a single line facing the front of the of the room (if you can call it that) and waved our arms, shook our legs and wiggled our rumps in unison like a chorus line.

Mostly it was an act for the announcers to see how many of us were left. I also noticed an interesting music selection was playing at the time as well.

"That was Murder on the Dance Floor by Sophia Ellis Baxter! Proving that even humans (in small doses) can make great music every now and again!"

"Are you implying something Mr. Rock?"

"Yes, Mr. Roll. She is a hottie for a human."

"Are you saying you wouldn't be adverse to a little interspecies romance Mr. Rock?"

"If it was with her indubitably! Mr. Roll!"

"Well with that profound statement not excluding, let's see how much longer our contestants can last! Mr. Rock!"

"Indeed you are Mr. Roll- we have twenty-two contestants left including contestant twenty six who looks like he needs food badly and contestants thirty nine and forty who look like they are just now learning how to dance!"

Tauren and I blushed as the announcers singled us out from the crowd along with the piggy from earlier who was still breathing heavily.

"Alright every beast show me your performance!"

"Four, Three, Two, One Go!"

With that hour two began. The dance stage and set changed once more into a large floating circular platform suspended in air. Adjacent to the stage were large vertical columns rising from a mysterious pit below the stage to the space above it! It gave the impression that all the contestants were really floating in air.

"Interesting choice for a set." Tauren commented.

"I wonder why they chose this one?" Sorren commented.

We didn't have to wait too long to find out. The next song selection was so vile, so nauseating, so disgusting that I don't even want to recount the lyrics here. Suffice to say a portion of the contestants stopped dancing during the middle to the end of the song to run to the side of the platform to vomit.

Sorren and Tauren were equally nauseated but managed to persevere. It was our coyote female who needed help. I ran to Lurie's side as she started to dry heave trying to prevent her from placing the contents of her stomach on display for the public.

"Come on Lurie! Think happy thoughts, the grand prize, beating your rival! Cruising around with Sorren, Tauren and me. If you toss your cookies now, that will all end!"

The coyote female took two gulps of air and managed to keep from showing everyone in attendance what she had eaten for dinner.

"For anyone who wanted to know, that was My Rectum Isn't Large Enough To Hold All of Your Crap by Lira!"

"That was, is and forever will be the ultimate break-up song Mr. Rock!"

"Right you are Mr. Roll! This is also the song that separates the cubs from the adults!"

"I am not a cub!" Lurie said recovering.

"No you aren't love!" Sorren and Tauren said in unison.

(Way to go Lurie!)

"Let's see we took out three with that one! Contestants three, six, five, when you are finished tossing your cookies you are all done!"

Apparently those contestants weren't allowed to finish either as the trio and I helped Lurie recover we observed the jackal female alleviate the announcers from having to clear the floor! This brazen beastial walked over to one of the vomiting contestants and kicked them over side of the platform!

"Did she just do that?!" I asked Tauren and Sorren in a state of disbelief.

"You mean if she just kicked that cougar off of the stage you're right." Tauren responded.

"I think Alex's ox friend threw the zebra and alligator off the stage after her." Sorren responded. But look there is one more!

Contestant twenty six also had been affected by the nauseating breakup song.

"Hey Mr. Rock! Even our piggy has been eliminated!"

"Yeah Mr. Roll! It looks like he didn't need another meal! He has had too many already!"

"Clean up aisle six!"

(Damn, that was evil!)

"Every beast ok?" Tauren asked.

"I will be love." Lurie said regaining some sense of composure.

"Eighteen contestants left." Sorren said checking his math.

"I wonder what they have in store next?!" I asked.

Truthfully we did not want to know.

"Moving right along Mr. Roll."

"Right you are Mr. Rock! Ok dancers try this one!"

*** Why don't you save me, save me! Oh uh oh oh! Why don't you save me save me! ***

The next set of songs in the second hour had a peculiar theme to them which didn't take the others long to figure out. The set changed once more, but unlike the previous songs the stage and dance floor weren't fixed; they kept changing from one visual to the next. First we were moving forward down a cave whose walls were geometric in shape and it kept changing. First they were star shaped, then circular, then square then, triangular.

The scene then changed to a large cube punctuated by rotating numbers and then to a slanted horizon that was punctuated by rows and rows of flashing numbers. This 'digital abyss' continued as the song ended and seamlessly flowed into the next song which was another interesting selection.

*** You make me lose, make me lose my self control- oh oh oh! You make me lose my self control! ***

Tauren soon realized what was going on. "Lurie close your eyes and just dance!" The bull said as he wrapped his arms around her. "Don't look at any of the visuals just dance."

"Now, that's evil." Sorren said as he moved next to me.

"What the wha?"

"You didn't pick up on the theme? The last two songs Self Control and Save Me in concert with the rotating visuals were designed to eliminate any other beast that hadn't vomited but were still feeling quite queasy." The dragon said to me.

No sooner had I thought about it-

"BLARFF!!!"

"It looks like we got another one!"

"RAFF!!!"

"And and another one! No one has the stomach for good music these days!"

"That's mean Mr. Roll."

"Why thank you Mr. Rock."

"Contestants twenty-one and twenty-five you might want to see a healer at your earliest convenience!"

"Oh and we will be sending you the cleaning bill!"

"So, it's like that Mr. Roll?"

"It's like that Mr. Rock!"

The announcers playful back-and-forth banter flowed into the next song.

*** It's like that y'all! Like that y'all- that that that that y'all! Cause it's my night, no stress, no fights I'm leaving it all behind! No tears, no time to cry just making the most of life! ***

The set had turned into a giant fish bowl encapsulating the stage and all us. Outside of the bowl schools and schools of fish swammed around it like we were under the ocean. The set complemented the song perfectly.

The syncopation, the beats of the song were unlike anything I had ever heard before! Tauren, Sorren, Lurie and I ignored everything going around us and were lost in the music and that moment. Nothing else existed outside that club- the theater district, World One or Counter Earth.

"Every beast ok?"

"It looks like we didn't lose anyone this time Mr. Rock!"

"Uh oh here comes the danger shark! Mr. Roll!"

"That is right Mr. Rock! The danger shark is looking for the weakest dancer of this group to devour and after that last song I think that it is you number twenty-eight!"

The announcers said as a nervous raccoon stared eye to eye at a large shark who looked like it wanted to chow down on the 'coon.

"Uh oh! He got into the fishbowl!"

"Watch out!"

The raccoon ran around the dance stage in terror as the large shark somehow pursued him back and forth in the fishbowl to the amazement of myself and the other dancers.

"Help, help!" The beastial screamed, "It's after me!"

After running through several contestants the coon tripped and slammed right into the side of the bowl knocking himself out. The shark hovered over his body before moving in to devour him. Both disappeared.

"And contestant twenty-eight has been eliminated! Not by the shark, but by his own clumsiness!"

"Did that just happen Mr. Rock?"

"Yes it did Mr. Roll! Just kidding everyone. Contestant twenty-eight is just fine until he realizes he was duped by an illusion!"

As the contestant was eliminated, the set transformed again the stage was now a large gold colored circle with multicolored spheres, half circles and arcs in the background. All moving in time to the music.

"Still plugging away I see!" They jackal said dancing over to Lurie Tauren, Sorren and myself.

Lurie nodded.

"Good dear, try your hardest not to get eliminated you absolutely must make the top ten if not the final five." The jackal grinned.

"We intend to." Lurie growled back over the pulse pounding instrumental song that was playing. "Hey shouldn't you be dancing off somewhere?"

"Don't be so rude love. Let her stay a while maybe she has some information on some of the other dancers." Tauren chimed in.

"Oh I like him! Is he yours?" The she beast asked.

"They are ALL mine." Lurie said gesturing to Sorren, Tauren and me.

"Wow, you have quite the harem- a bull, a dragon and a, a what are you?" The jackal asked looking directly at me.

"Um, I'm a lemur!" I quickly shot back as the song abruptly ended and the next one began.

"Hmm.... curious. Its mouth did not move." The jackal female said.

"That is our Alex. Forever the practical joker!" Tauren nervously said.

"You are all so adorable especially this one he is a great dancer!" The she beast said as she kissed Sorren on his nose. Look out honey I may be back for this one!" The jackal female said dancing away.

"Uh what was that about?!" I asked.

"I think she was sizing up the competition." Lurie surmised.

"I think it was sabotage!" Sorren chimed in.

"Why do you say that love?" Tauren asked the dragon.

"Because my nose itches badly!"

*** This is a journey into sound.... Are you ready? Ready for the race? Are you ready? Uh Uh! Oh! Oh! Are you ready? ***

"Oh no!" Lurie and Tauren scream in unison as Sorren started sneezing uncontrollably.

AH CHOO!! AH CHOO!! AH CHOO!! AH CHOO!! AH CHOO!!

"Alex!" Lurie said grabbing me.

"Lurie!" Tauren said grabbing us both as we danced away from Sorren quickly.

I didn't know why those two were being so dramatic until I noticed a red flash coming from Sorren's nose! He was spewing flame!

The dragon was literally burning up the dance floor! As the remaining dancers around him tried desperately to avoid being torched.

"Whoa look at number thirty-eight! It's like he is allergic to the music!"

"Yeehaw!!!!"

Sorren kept sneezing for about half a minute. Before he finally stopped and rubbed his nose.

"The dancing dragon had a allergic reaction to something Mr. Roll!"

"Was it the music Mr. Rock?!"

"It was something Mr. Roll! Fortunately no one was injured!"

"Tell that to those three contestants who are on fire!"

"So that is where that burnt smell is coming from!"

During his sneezing fit Sorren torched three contestants setting their clothes on fire- a lizard, donkey and a unlucky lamb who had his clothes burnt to the crisp as well as a portion of his wool. They were all staring angrily at our dragon.

(Yikes!)

"Well, is it against the rules to give your fellow contestants the newest HOT look eh, Mr. Rock?"

"No it's not Mr. Roll, but those contestants stopped dancing to put out the fire on their clothing. I am afraid numbers eleven, thirty and our sheep friend twenty-nine are disqualified."

"Too baaaaaaad!" Mr. Rock said bleating like a sheep.

"SORREN!" Lurie, Tauren and myself all screamed in unison as our friend, the torched sheep and the other two contestants were hit by what looked like a laser beam and shattered into a million bits of light.

(Nice effect.)

"Avenge me!" Sorren said as he disappeared from the dance floor.

"Additionally number thirty-eight has been disqualified because he stopped dancing to sneeze and torch his fellow contestants."

"Aw, he was doing alright until half way!"

With that hour two ended and the announcers made the remaining dancers form a single line facing the front of the of the room as the next song started playing.

*** Do you know me? Baby the way that I know you? Honey, I promise I will always be true... I'll be your mother and your father, be your sister and your lover... I'll be everything that you need... I'll be you heart and your soul I won't be hot or cold.... I look for you wait and see... Do you know me? I will never let you down! ***

"Wow this is getting serious Mr. Roll!"

"Yes you are Mr. Rock, looks like we are almost into the top ten- not that many contestants left. It looks like it all end will end this hour!"

"Four Three Two One here we go!"

Hour three began with just fourteen contestants left; we were getting close to the end and the competition was getting vicious.

Lurie on the other hand was mad, really really mad.

"That bitch! I am going to destroy her!"

"Calm yourself dear. She is not playing fair and there is no reason for us- any of us to resort to her level." The bull said to his lover.

"Hey, I thought it was the High Evolutionary's edict that you furies love one another!" I added.

"Don't remind me!" The pissed off coyote growled.

"Besides love, despite the special effects Sorren and the other disqualified contestants are just fine and are probably in the audience watching, so let's do the best that we can to try to win this thing." Tauren said squeezing his 'yote girl.

Lurie tried her best to keep her mind on the goal. But you didn't have to be a casual observer to realize the she beast was mad and still stewing.

*** Uh ha! Music gets the best of me, but guess who gets the rest of the me? There is no need for jealousy- music gets the best of me! ***

(Man this is a great song too!)

*** Oh oh my baby you know you make me smile. But is the music we are making that is driving me wild!! Music gets the best of me! ***

I didn't have time to comfort or reassure Lurie despite wanting to because I would soon have my own problems to deal with.

**BUMP**

"Hi there little fella! The ox said as he deliberately danced into me. IT'S LATER!"
