#2 of Genetic Children

The Character Korm is mine! Please dont steal him :D This chapter contains some of Korm's daily life activities as he takes a day off from work. It also contains a very light description of a female. If you shouldn't be reading this then DON'T. (You know under 18's and narrow minded people).

Enjoy the second chapter if you wish. Also thanks to the almighty Google and Wikipedia for help in translating some words.

Morning came and Korm dropped his arm out of bed and slapped the alarm off, why had he bothered setting it anyway? He didn't have work but oh well, he could go grab his shopping today. He threw the covers back and slid his legs out of bed only to realise that he had slept on the book and his back was killing him.

A hand covered his face, slowly slid down and eventually fell off his chin. Damn he felt like crap. It always happened when fell asleep reading, after standing and stretching tall Korm continued on to the shower. During his shower he began thinking about his experiment that was finishing itself and his distraction grew until he forgot about his need to shave.

Dressed in his black Rip-Curl jacket and generic black jeans Korm went out his door, turning he put his key in the lock and listened to the deadbolt slide home into the wall. Then he remembered the mail, a heavy sigh escaped him and he unlocked the door and grabbed his mail from the side table. Flipping through it he ticked them off in his head:

Bill-phone

Bill-power

Bill-water

Junk mail

Postcard?

He was mildly interested in the junk mail and pushed the postcard inside his inner jacket pocket while he observed that JB-Hi-Fi had 60% off all cds, and 40% off all dvds now that was worth checking out. The junk mail was thrown into his big green wheelie bin as he strode down the footpath and headed into town. His watch beeped reminding him that he had today and tomorrow to enjoy his freedom before he could get back to his ‘Daughter' and start synthesising her.

Strolling past the school he noticed several children staring out the windows, just like he had done for many years. The shops were fast approaching growing up out of the car park like a huge in-organic forest filled, like a forest with everything that people needed to survive.

He was quickly in command of a trolley with a squeaky wheel that had a tendency to want to drift to the right, but after he had half filled it, it began to behave a bit more. He didn't take much notice of the people around the shop except for a young girl six or seven years of age by his guess that had features that he imagined his ‘Daughter' might have judging by the genetic codes he had review. Brindle hair and freckles, long legs for her age and an inquisitive looking face, when she noticed his looks she stuck her tongue out and was scalded by her mother who offered a friendly smile to Korm by way of apology.

Three bags in one hand and a large green canvas bag in his other, Korm began to lug the groceries home. The weight didn't bother him probably about 30kg's but he didn't have too far to go and he enjoyed the exercise, though he did get more stares as he passed the school. Once home and un-packed he flicked his mouse to bring his computer out of sleep mode and opened FireFox, scrolled to bookmarks and opened Yiffstar. The website was always a curiosity though the stories turned him on he used it primarily in his exploration of interactions between the ‘anthorpomorphs', Furries and humans. It didn't hurt if he enjoyed his work.

Several hours of trawling the site and making notes in his notepad proved to be enough for him. Korm realised that outside of work he really didn't do anything important and decided that in the morning he would head in even though he wasn't need, he could at least monitor the project and possibly start some of the synthesis early. He could take an inventory of the chemicals he would need (not that he hadn't already done it) and move them into the synthesis chambers. More to the point, he would probably sit in front of the computer watching the pairing and sketching what he thought and hoped she would look like, even directly modifying the DNA of the aesthetic parts there was never a guarantee that the subject would look exactly as the formulas said it would, it takes just one minute change, two strands that clash even in the most miniscule way and the subjects looks, age and mental capabilities can be drastically different.

The clock told him it was way past the hour when all good workers should be in bed, so after pressing Alt-Ctrl-Delete and putting his computer in sleep mode he retired once again to be, clicked the T.V, set the alarm clock and picked up his book once more, he fell asleep with a picture of his ‘Daughter' in his minds eye.

In his dreams, the wild, twisting dreams of those that possess an active imagination, he experienced a semi-romantic relationship with an anthropomorphic feline. Probably as a direct result of falling asleep thinking about one.

Korm ran his large hands along the light fuzz covered arms of the jet black feline laying beside him, receiving a sigh of what he guessed, was pleasure.

A mumble issued from the form beside him. He could feel that they both wore no clothes and the covers were not on the bed but he couldn't shift his view from the back, arms and shoulders of the form beside him. The mumble came again, he couldn't make out what she was saying, as with most of his dreams the massages that the people in them tried to convey were always mumbled, always just out of reach to his mind. Somehow he knew there was a storm raging outside, though he couldn't hear the wind or rain, he could see the window over the feline's shoulder but even though the curtains were pulled back and restrained, they were blocked in some way, he couldn't see out. His limited view was dragged back to her shoulders; it was as if he wasn't in control of his actions, which was very common for Korm's dreams. Brushing against his hand, he felt the female's human, fur-covered hand lift his away from under her breast and place it against her lower stomach, she left it there for a while and then his body withdrew it and he heard another mumble issue forth from her, catching only the last few words.

"Cytogenetics, Nomen and Murilegus." He knew the meanings of these words; Cytogenetics is a form of genetics that deals specifically with the study of the structure and function of the cell, especially the chromosomes resulting in genetic inheritance. Nomen was an easy one, it is Latin for name, and Murilegus was a word meaning "catcher of mice" from the 8th century. The feline was telling him he was she had inherited the name of Murilegus she was a cat. But why was she saying this, he knew she was and he sensed that she knew that he knew. He felt her began to roll over, he legs went first and slowly the rest of her body followed he could see the slight bump of her stomach and the pit of her navel and the perky rises of her breasts, she continued to roll until her head was last to turn, he saw her nose and could see that her eyes were shut but as they flickered to open he was rudely awakened.

BZZT! BZZT! BZZT!

Just as the dream was about to reveal something to him it always happened this way, he jumped out of bed in his boxers, grabbed his notepad off the desk and scribbled down the notes of his dream to preserve them. He had a file of dreams on his computer, his dreams had been of this particular feline a lot lately, ever since beginning his work on the project. Dreams were a curiosity he believed that his unconscious mind was piecing together patterns and fragments from his life and trying to show him the solutions to his daily problems, but this one wasn't these dreams had a different substance, a new feeling to them that he hadn't felt before they started. After transferring the written notes to his computer file, the page was scrunched and binned and he set about readying himself for an optional day at the Lab.
