Planet of Magic chap 2
"We're nearing the market now" said Dak as he and Anya landed the ship and hopped out of the cockpit due to it lifting when opened. "how much money do you have brother?" asked Anya. "I got about 50,000 dollars but I plan to buy more magic. From what I heard, a single orb is worth 10,000 so I should have about five orbs by the end of today." said Dak as they walked into market. They couldn't land the ship in it because the market place was a narrow alley instead of an actual wide market. Shops lined the walls of the alley none the less. Finally, he found a very rich looking merchant who was selling magical orbs. "can I help you?" asked the merchant kindly. She was a kangaroo and wore a red tank top shirt with blue jean pants. She had her right ear pierced with a large thin gold ring that was about as big around as a human wrist.
"What kind of magic do you have?" asked Dak. "Well I got lightning bolt, healing rain, acid cloud, you name it." she said. "If you have a spell already, I can upgrade it by merging the same spell in you again. This can be done three times per spell" she said. "I'll take two fire balls then and two lightning blasts and finally a acid cloud" said Dak. After spending all his money, he was holding his orbs. He took about three minutes merging them all into him but he had the magic power racing in him none the less. He now has a fully upgraded fire ball, a level 2 lightning blast, and level one acid cloud. Suddenly, they heard a voice yelling.
"Step right up folks and try your magical orbs..." shouted an elephant from a podium. "The fifth annual magic contest is about to begin." he said. "I'll join!" shouted Dak as the elephant saw him. "and my friend, indeed you shall." said the elephant as he went over the rules. "You may battle with any means you see fit but this is mostly a magic contest. Please treat it as such. Also, you are not to kill your opponent." and with that, the contest was on. All the combatants were lead to an arena where thousands of bystanders were watching them. "Let the battle commence!" shouted the elephant.
Almost instantly, magic started blazing around the field, launched by several competitors eager to show they were superior. "Now to try my acid cloud!" shouted Dak as he flung his hands up into the air and a cloud of acid vapor was sent crackling across the ground towards a target in front of him. It hit a heavily armored rhino man and his armor was melted off of him. "Now for a level two lightning blast" said Dak smiling as he powered up his spell. The electricity surged around his right arm, every now and then emitting sparks. He flung his arm forward and sent a surge of electricity towards a rat girl blasting her into a wall and pinning her there with static electricity. She went limp but was still alive.
"Now for my final magic..." said Dak holding up both hands stretched to the sky. "level three fire ball!" an orb of fire and magma formed over him, again not harming him at all as it hovered and began to grow to enormous size. It was now the side of a car instead of a beach ball. "HERARGE!" grunted Dak hurling the ball with his magical energy at three cat sisters who were powering up a spell combo. The ball hit them directly and exploded into fire sending all three cats into random directions and skidding across the floor. "We have a winner!" shouted the elephant as Dak fell to his knees. "But it looks like he spent to much magical power, he'll need a quick rest." said the announcer as Dak crawled out of the stadium.
"Brother, you can't use such high level magic repeatedly. It drains the body" said Anya as she poured cool water on Dak's forehead. The elephant announcer approached him smiling. "Well done mister Dak, you win the prize... a sacred spell. There are 15 in all...." Dak sat up and looked at the elephant. What kind of spell?" he asked. "The spell of time stop. It stops time for one real world minute giving you time to defeat an opponent or flee. Everything in time except it's caster is frozen in time so you can do whatever you like for one minute in your time before time unfreezes." and with that, the elephant presented a platinum orb Dak took it and merged with it. As he did so, his fur color changed slightly brighter. "How much magic can one person merge with?" asked Anya.
"It is believed magic is the life force of this planet and when one merges with magic, they merge with the planet's life itself. The higher level a magic is upgraded, the stronger the bond to that element of life is. There are more fire spells than simply fire ball but your brother is greatly connected to the spirit of fire as it is. The sacred spells are said to be the physics of the planet. Merge with all 15, and you literally become the god of the planet itself. Each time a person wins the contest, they are promoted to a higher rank and given stronger opponents. Win 15 tournaments... you win all 15 sacred spells.... The tournaments are held once the current reigning champion dies and his sacred magic is restored to orb form. Will you take on level 2?" asked the elephant. "Not now..." said Dak.
The elephant smiled. "My name is Haki By the way. The tourneys are held once every week. This was the first." he said a he walked away.
"so brother, how's your magic recovered?" asked Anya. "well enough...." Said Dak "But I feel such power from the time stop spell... it's as if I actually am made out of magic..." he sighed and stood up. "Come on, let's go home....
