Hey, All! Here is Chapter 3: "Goals set. Ready? Go!" of "College Life!" I spent a little more time on this chapter than others, sorry it's out late, college is making things difficult. Anyway, I spent more time on this chapter trying to develop characters and make it a little more emotionally appealing and get audiences to connect with the story more, sorry it's a little shorter! Thank you to, Shard, for letting me use his character!

Let me know what you think, leave a comment, and I hope you enjoy!

Thanks,

-Vergennes

Chapter 3

Goals Set. Ready? Go!

Waking up to find the other three freshmen fast asleep, Vergennes stretches his arms over his head, letting out a yawn. The sun was shining through the window, casting shadows across the alcohol littered dorm and causing rainbows to appear on the carpet from the glass vodka bottles. The room smelled of booze and musk, stinging the otter's eyes. But he loved everything about it.

Realizing just how sticky his fur was as he squeezed out of the pile on the couch, Vergennes smiles and walks to the shower, trying to be quiet as to not wake the other three. Shard gave out a grunting snore and stretched out over where Vergennes once laid as the otter reached the bathroom. Turning around and laughing to himself, the otter grabbed his clothes and stepped into the washroom and closed the door behind him. That was the best night he had had since their spring break vacation.

Today's a great day already. I'm here with the three furs that I love the most. But it's time to continue working towards my goals for AT and tennis. The otter thought as he stepped into the shower and started lathering his sore muscles with soap under the hot steamy water. Closing his eyes, letting the water run over his face and letting out a long sigh, Vergennes imagines all of the stress (and cum stains) wash off of his body and down the drain.

Slowly, a pair of hands wrap themselves around the otter's muscular torso. Letting off a yell for the ages, Vergennes turns around to find a smiling dragon standing naked with him in the shower.

"Careful, you'll wake the others!" Shard whispers as he takes the bar of soap out of the comically petrified otters hand and lathering himself up.

"Get my back will ya?" The dragon said, turning around.

"Shard! What the fuck!" The otter said, reaching a shaking hand out and massaging the scaly males shoulder blades.

"Yeah. Whatever. Lower man, I can reach that part!" Shard said shaking his arms out a little bit and rolling his shoulders. Moving the bar of soap lower so that he was lathering up the dragon's lower back, Vergennes begins to finally calm down.

"I didn't expect to see you up so early. Especially after last night. Feel alright?" Vergennes asks as he hands the bar of soap to the dragon as he himself turns around, waiting for the return favor. Feeling the soap on his back fur, the otter closes his eyes again as the hot water pelts his chest.

"Yeah, but I don't really remember anything though. All I remember last is you coming into the room, and everyone going nuts over you." Shard said, lowering his hand and the bar of soap to the otters toned lower back.

"Heh, more like busting nuts over me." Vergennes said as he feels his cock begin to stir with memories of the previous night's events.

"What?" Shard laughs.

Explaining the series of events in order from when he got there, Vergennes' member had become fully hard. Turning around to wash his back under the water, the otter wasn't at all surprised to see Shard's familiar ridged cock standing at attention.

"Wow! That's hot. I can't believe I did that. It also explains why I'm so sore back there." The dragon said, stretching his back and starting to stroke his cock. "Hey, I know! How about a little competition now? Who can last longer, except this time with their paws?" Shard said, giving his erection a squeeze and eyeballing Vergennes.

"You sure you're up for it?" Vergennes asked as he reached his paw down and squeezed the dragon's hard member against his.

"Mppf. I won't last long if you do that!" Shard said, wrapping his arms around the otter's shoulders and resting his forehead on his friends.

Stroking both cocks at once, Vergennes slowly thumbs the tips of their erect members. Watching his friend's eyes roll back with pleasure as he increases the pace of his stroking and thumbing. Vergennes smiles, knowing that the dragon wouldn't last much longer. Bringing a hand up, Vergennes pulls down on both of their rising round orbs and squeezes them together. Shard moans as his balls were squeezed next to the otters and pulled down, keeping them from pushing their warm seed up and out of their painfully hard and throbbing members.

"Oh. Verge. I can't hold it back anymore!" The dragon moaned, clenching his fists and eyes as the otter let go of their balls and started fully stroking their cocks together.

Letting off a muffled roar into the otter's shoulder, the dragon shot his seed spurt after spurt onto Vergennes' hand and midriff. Coating the otter's abs in white. Getting heated from his friend's pleasure, the otter moaned and shot off his warm spunk as well, coating the dragons scales in heated pleasure. Blushing, panting and touching foreheads together, the two friends smiled at each other.

"You won." Shard said breathlessly, tightening his arms around the otter's shoulder and looking into his friend's eyes.

"Yeah, but now we have to clean up again!" The otter said, laughing as Shard closed his eyes and sighed.

Turning around and washing the spunk off of his stomach, Vergennes traded places with his friend, letting Shard wash off his abs as he stepped out of the shower. Grabbing towels and drying each other off, Shard laughs at the way Verge's fur stands on end as he slips his pants on over his scaly legs. Blushing and throwing the garment in his friends face, silencing Shard mid laugh, the otter slipped on his own pair of shorts and walked out of the bathroom with his half-dressed friend. Clarence and Lance were still passed out on the couch in each other's arms.

Looking at each other, and deciding it was best to leave, Vergennes and Shard walk to the college's Dining Hall to get some lunch. Together, laughing about their friends and enjoying their present situation, the two of them sit down and enjoy the afternoon. Nothing could've been better for Vergennes, but he still knew in the back of his head that his stress had only passed for a moment.

...

One Week Later

Vergennes' performance since the one and only tennis match that the freshman had gotten to play had gone down. He wasn't playing well, and he was frustrated. Not only was he giving a hundred percent to improve his fitness and tennis level, but he was sitting at an eighty percent in the AT program. Three percent away from being accepted.

"I'm doing so bad right now! How do I tennis?" He joked to Shard, Lance, and Clarence, laughing darkly at his pun one night after another dismal evening practice, which had only gotten worse with hurricane like winds making it almost impossible to play.

"Man, shut up. You've been complaining about this for a week now. It's not like we're going to play much more after this because of the conference matches. Coach will obviously want to put the older guys in over us." Clarence said, throwing his tennis bag over his shoulder and walking faster.

"Your mom shut up last night, Clarence." Lance stated, smiling and throwing an arm around his depressed friend.

"Eheh, you think your funny do ya'?" Clarence said sarcastically.

"Come on Verg, what Clarence means is, you've got to stop complaining and..." Lance began, but was interrupted by the grumpy stallion.

"Just stop complaining" Clarence snorted.

"Ignore him. He's just upset I won when I played him today." Lance said, looking at Clarence, who gave him a glare that could cut glass.

"What these two idiots are trying to say, Verge, is that you have to stop complaining and work hard for it." Shard stated, rolling his eyes at the now bickering Clarence and Lance.

"Yeah. I guess. I just feel like I'm already giving one-hundred percent though." Vergennes said, shrugging Lance's arm off his shoulder.

"Talk to coach about it. He called a team meeting tomorrow at three to discuss conference and what us freshmen are doing for the last two months of school." Shard said, now slinging his own arm around Vergennes.

"Yeah, alright. Goodnight, Shard, Clarence." Vergennes stated as he and Lance entered their dorm room. The other two walked slowly up the stairs.

"Goodnight," they both called.

Vergennes had a sleepless night. Tossing and turning in a dorm room that is too hot even for a Jackrabbit, his eyes stayed open for the night. Laying on his side thinking about how his dreams of tennis and Athletic Training seem to be slipping through his fingers, he lays awake until his morning class.

The next day, the players meeting was held in the sports center meeting room, just outside of the indoor tennis courts. Red carpet lined the floor, and soft leather chairs were circled around a large table for all fourteen players and coach Marvin. The lights were dimmed, basking everything in an orange glow. Plaques of past coaches lined a wall representing the college's long and historic sports facility and programs. Although the room was comfortable, there was an air of apprehensiveness that thickened the smell of dust, vinyl, and masculine musk. Sitting at the far end of the table, Coach Marvin puts his hands on the wood and clasps them together as his player's stroll in.

"I'm glad all of you could make it." Coach Marvin stated as three o'clock rolled around. Taking his time to look at each and every one of his players, the cougar waited to say what was next on his mind.

"I called this meeting because I wanted to talk with you all about what will be happening for the next four weeks, leading to the end of the season, school, and conference matches." Coach Marvin said, raising his hands up and lacing his fingers together, resting his chin on them as his ears twitched nervously. Now looking at the four freshmen, coach Marvin crossed his arms on the table.

"During the conference matches, I will not be able to focus on developing you freshmen. I will have to put more time and focus on the people who will be playing these important matches." Coach Marvin stated flatly.

"Because of this, I will have our assistant coach run a practice for you on Tuesday and Thursday, making it so that you at least get two days of practice. I know it's not as much as what you're used to, with practicing every day last semester, but this is the best I can do at this time." The cougar paused.

"I also realize that you freshmen have only gotten to play one match this year. As I've said before, this is because I want consistent results and I believe you are not quite there yet. All of you ten who are playing these conference matches in these coming weeks, I expect to see you every day for practice. The weekends you may have off." The cougar said, looking around the table.

Vergennes brought his elbows up onto his knees and buried his face in his hands, resting his forehead on the table surface, almost curling into a ball. Trying to conceal the mix of anger, frustration, and depression that begins to contort his complexion into an ugly grimace cast in an angry shadow. His eyes begin to water.

I'm losing my dream of becoming a professional tennis player! I've only gotten to play one match, and now I'm not going to be able to practice every day. I need to be able to practice if I want to reach this goal!

He thought angrily, pressing his palms against his eyes.

I've been giving 100%, and I've been working harder than anyone on this team, and I'm not even going to get to practice! They're trying to take away my dreams here!

The sound of chairs gliding across the red carpet brought Vergennes out of his emotional reverie, but he didn't move to get up. Voices faded into the distance as the players walked out, leaving Vergennes sitting there with his hands pressed tightly on his watering eyes. One last chair glided across the carpet, and footsteps made their way over to him.

"Vergennes. Are you okay?" A hand made its way to his shoulder, patting him lightly.

Taking a deep breath, the otter removed his hands from his watering eyes. Feeling foolish for crying, he quickly wiped his tears on his arm. Looking up, Coach Marvin was standing next to him giving his shoulder a squeeze.

"The reason why I was so apprehensive about this decision was because of how you would react to it." The coach said, pulling out the chair next to Verge and taking a seat, looking at the younger otter. "I know that...you've been putting in so much effort Vergennes, but this is something that I have to do for consistent results. The others know what these conference matches are like." The cougar said, looking down at his thumb.

"It just feels like...I give one hundred percent... and I don't get anywhere with tennis!" The otter complained to coach Marvin slowly and sadly not looking at the older fur.

"I know Vergennes, but you're doing so well. You're the most improved on the team. I would even say you have the most passion as well!" The coach said, reaching out a hand again and resting it on the otter's shoulder.

_I'm the...most improved._Vergennes thought, closing his eyes tightly and pressing his hands against them again.

_I have the most motivation._He thought as he braced himself to look at his coach.

"My whole dream and goal... coach... is to go pro. This has been my dream since I started tennis when I was eight." The otter stated, wiping his eyes and looking sternly into the cougars.

"Verge, I'm glad that you have this huge goal. But set up a few smaller ones, like making the playing team." The cougar said, patting his shoulder. "If you want to go professional, you have to be on the court five hours a day, and do other things outside of tennis as well." Coach Marvin said, standing up. "I don't know if you'll make it, but if you are going to fight for it like I've seen you do before, maybe you'll make the playing team next year." The cougar said, walking away.

"I have to go, Vergennes. Keep your head up and continue to work hard." The cougar said, disappearing from view as he walked out of the room.

I'll show him. I'll show them all. Vergennes thought, clenching his fists on his knees.

Getting up and walking to the bathroom to straighten himself up, Vergennes' eyes began to water again. Bending over the sink with his hands resting on the sides, the otter stares at a strangers face in the mirror.

_Is that really me?_He thought, squeezing the sides of the sink tighter, making his knuckles go white. The face in the mirror a stranger to him.

I'm failing at the thing that is my life. I'm failing at the thing that I love most. I'm failing at tennis. I'm just a failure. I'm an... underachiever. The otter closed his eyes tightly. Grimacing as his mind is fighting itself within him, tearing him apart.

No! Vergennes thought while he raised his paws up, and brought them down hard on the sink angrily with a loud thud!

_I will achieve my dreams!_His palms hit the sink again.

I will go pro after my four years here. Another thud came as his paws were left stinging from the blow.

If one-hundred percent isn't enough on and off the court...I will give one-hundred-and-ten percent! Bringing his paws down one more time to the sink, Vergennes opens his eyes and presses his nose against the mirror. Looking closely into the eyes of the stranger looking back at him.

I will succeed with hard work. I believe in myself. I will achieve my dreams.

Turning the water on cold, Vergennes runs his throbbing hands under the current. Splashing some on his face, he turns off the sink, and walks away from the underachieving otter left in the mirror.

If I work hard enough, I know I will be able to succeed. He thought again as he opened the door to the beautiful spring day, and stepped out to face his new life.

I will give one-hundred-and-ten percent.
