Chapter Five

The next morning I woke up on the floor next to Axel, both of us sleeping on the floor of Psy's small hut while he himself remained sitting on the table. His tail lightly slapped against the wood repeatedly every so often, it was hard to tell if he was really asleep. Again, as I've said before, psychic types are weird.

I rose up slowly to sit on the cot, stretching my arms and groaning slightly, then rubbing my eyes a bit as I'm still waking up. Suddenly a feeling hits me and I eep slightly as for nearly the first time since I came to this world, my body tells me it needs to use the restroom, and its not that very first tingle either no, this was the it's happening now weather you're ready or not feeling.

I'm instantly up and shoving my paws between my legs, against a sheath and balls so buried in fur I hadn't even thought I had them there at first I never bothered to look, but that's far from my mind as I'm racing out the door of the hut and across the path into the trees. I stopped inside the bushes and found a tree, aimed and let loose, sighing in pure relief as the sound of water splashing a hard surface rose.

"Had to go huh?" I jumped slightly, trying to hold myself steady then as I turned my head to see Psy behind me on a tree branch. Had he teleported out after me?

"Y-yeah, first time since um, being here really." I answered back and blushed a bit that he was watching me and he made a confirming hum.

"Pokémon are very healthy creatures, we only need to expel waste once every month, but when our bodies decide to do so it is rather dire."

"Felt dire." I mumbled as I finished up and then turned back to Psy, "I used to think I knew a lot about pokémon, but back in my world there aren't very many, only really rich families can even afford to get one, and trainers are a real rarity."

"Why is that?" he asked me in interest then, and I felt a moment of giddiness that I knew things a pokémon like Psy would want to know.

But unfortunately, I didn't know why at all. "I'm not really sure, its been like that since I had been born."

"Very interesting..." He commented again, "In any case, please head back and wake up Axel, we have a day's journey ahead of us to reach our destination."

________________

It wasn't until after halfway through the day that Psy told us we could take a break. The psychic type simply teleported between the tree branches as Axel and I walked underneath along the path. We stayed mostly silent, though Axel and I did chat about a few things here and there. We rested at the side of the path and ate together, Psy just having the apple float in front of himself as he took bites.

I had already finished my lunch and was laying back on the ground just enjoying the sounds of the bird pokémon in the trees when a sudden yell came from the trees.

"Help!!! Someone!"

I sat up quickly and the other two both turned their heads to the forest, just as someone came bursting out. A small Skitty, tail waiving frantically behind herself, which was holding a basket filled with red berries.

"Help me please! They're after me!"

"Who's after you?" Psy instantly asked, standing up, which I was surprised he could actually do seeing as he had only ever been sitting cross legged since I met him and just seemed to teleport everywhere.

"I don't know! I think they want to steal my berries!" The bushes behind the Skitty shuffled again and she darted forward past Psy, ending up taking cover behind me as I stood up and Axel was bristling was the Skitty's pursuers burst from the brush.

"You guys!?" Axel shouted angrily and I brought my paws up instantly as I saw them as well.

It was Machop and his gang, their bodies riddled with cuts and brushes. Machop had apparently been injured on his left eye as it was blackened, and the Hitmontop brothers were both limping as they shuffled out after Machop.

"Ruli!" Machop shouted out, but his tone sounded incredibly relieved than annoyed and he fell to his knees, catching himself with his hands as he panted, "Oh thank Arceus...we found someone else!"

"We've been lost for days!" One of the Hitmontop brothers said and the other added, "Since we ran away we got so deep in the woods..."

"Why were you chasing the Skitty?" Psy asked calmly, but he stayed standing, and I noticed a soft glow had appeared around his hands at this point. As I was behind him it was hard to see, but I imagined his eyes were probably glowing underneath his blindfold too.

"And where's the other pokémon that was with you?" Axel asked then, a distinct tone of distrust in his voice that I did not blame him for. The missing pokémon was Timburr, the one who had struck the Eevee during our first encounter with him.

"He's gone. Don't know where, something else got him."

"Something else?" Psy repeated.

"We don't remember, we were lost and scared and suddenly it attacked us all and-"

"Don't listen to them!" The Skitty suddenly spoke up and I looked back at her, she was staring up at me intently, "They're lying, they know what happened. Trust me, they're tricking you. I tried to talk to them earlier before they tried to attack me and they were acting like they couldn't hear me! And their eyes! Their eyes were-"

"That's enough." Psy stated firmly and I saw his hand glow in pink and purple energy, "I already knew they were lying, but its more than just that. Who are you? Why are you controlling these kids?!"

Machop and the Hitmontop brothers panted for a few moments longer, before I heard Machop start to chuckle, "Heh...heheh...very interesting..."

Machop stood up then, wobbling a bit and he grinned, it was then I noticed that his eyes had become completely black except for his red irises.

"Should have figured that a psychic type such as you would have seen us." A dark aura began to glow around Machop's body and I noticed that Hitmontops behind him began to do the same, their eyes also going completely black save their own blue iris.

"Answer the question ghost!" Psy shouted, "What are you doing with these children? You know the rules of hosting."

"They wondered into our territory themselves." Machop made a shrugging motion, which I knew now was just the ghost talking through him. "They were so hungry and lost they readily accepted our hospitality for a few berries."

"You tricked them." Psy snarled and his fist clenched up.

"Tricked is such a harsh word, they still accepted the terms." Machop grinned and he flexed, "It's so good to be young and flesh again. We've quite enjoyed ourselves learning our new bodies."

"Hunger however..." One of the Hitmontops started, "Is a strange thing to get used to..." He was eyeing the basket the Skitty was holding behind me.

"Why don't you just hand over the basket and we can all go on our merry way? We'll let you live your lives while we get to enjoy our burrowed ones." The other brother chuckled and I shivered at how eery it sounded.

"Not gonna happen." Psy said, "Those bodies belong to those children, you will give them back. They've been gone for almost a week, their parents are worried about them."

"And that's not gonna happen either." Machop shot back, the black aura around him growing stronger, "Think you're so tough do you?"

"I could get your Mistress involved in this if you would rather that." Psy stated, the other pokémon seemed to tense at that, but after a moment they growled.

"There's no way for her to reach her! Come on guys we'll take the basket by force!" Machop dashed out at Psy, grabbing him on the arms with both hands and whipping his head back as if to headbutt him. Both of them vanished as Psy teleported before he could even connect the blow. The Hitmontop brothers jumped forward with him, but they paused as their partner vanished, leaving Axel and myself standing between them and Skitty.

I heard Psy's voice in my head then. "Ruli, Axel, you'll have to take the Hitmontop brothers, protect Skitty. Try not to inflict anything permanent, just knock them out and we can deal with getting the ghost types out then."

"No problem!" Axel shouted next to me out loud, fur bristling, "Got some payback to give for you jokers."

"Oh, I guessed by now that you knew these kids but what did they do to you I wonder? Will you go easy on them knowing its against their will though? I can hear them telling us to stop, they don't want to fight you anymore, they say they're sorry for what happened, they hadn't wanted to take it that far. They ran away because they were scared of being punished for hurting you so much." He laughed, "Oh this is so delicious! A group of bullies showed the error of their ways through an even worse punishment then they could have imagined, losing control of their very bodies!"

"You're the bullies here, not them. We'll save them!" I shouted back at him and they both chuckled lowly.

The eldest brother started as he slowly began moving left closer to me, the other brother moving around to the right and closer to Axel. I followed him, keeping my stance and shuffling my feet to keep facing toward him, all at once trying to recall everything that Pangoro had been teaching me. I heard Skitty dash back into the bushes behind us, and the eldest Hitmontop growled.

"There goes the food, damn..." He stared at the bush before returning his attention to me, "You though...I sense conflicting emotions...he wants to fight you but yet at the same time, he does not, he has always found you misunderstood...interesting, he was just following Machop it seems."

I growled lowly and held my stance, trying not to let him trick me. I soon realized my back was against Axel's rear who had been following the younger brother as well. I looked behind myself for only an instant at the Eevee.

"Lost your focus!" The Eldest brother shouted at me and I looked back to see him jumping at me, foot extending out to kick. I ducked and rolled, grabbing Axel's tail at the same time to pull him with me. We fell into the dirt of the side of the path, I coughed a bit as some dirt got in my mouth.

"Thanks Ruli." Axel said as he got up with me, dirt in his fur. "Guess that makes us even."

"Except I didn't get hit in the head by a log." I returned.

"Oh yeah...guess we're not even." He chuckled then and we both started at the brothers as they both stood in front of us again, grinning with that black aura surrounding them and eyes black.

"We'll have to split them up more effectively..." I said and looked at Axel intently. He looked back at me and he nodded, and we both dashed away from each other, each of us running away down the paths.

The brothers instantly split up as well, the eldest again chasing me down while the youngest chased after Axel. "Oh no you don't!"

I looked back behind myself at him as he was chasing me, making sure he was far enough but never letting him get too close. I was faster than him it seemed, I could use that to my advantage. I kept running for about a quarter of a mile.

I stopped and turned around as I thought we had gotten far enough from Axel and stood my ground, panting slightly as he caught up to me. He however, looked way more fatigued. He panted heavily and as he stopped in front of me, he kneeled a moment as he caught his breath. I chuckled.

"What's wrong, not used to having to breath?"

"Fuck you..." He panted out at me and glared at me.

"See if you can keep up." I snarled and I dashed at him, pulling a fist back to attack.

I punched out, he blocked me with his hand. I punched out with my other paw then and he blocked once more with his other hand, lashing out at me with the one he had just blocked my first punch with and I slapped it away to the side before he could hit me with it. I felt myself get lost into the fight as I let the natural fighting instinct in me take control.

We began trading blows as he would punch out at me or kick. I kept blocking with my arms and legs, which Pangoro had taught me were naturally the strongest parts of my body, the bones within them strong and firm. He kept blocking my attacks with his hands, which had no fingers and were basically small punching bags as it seemed it wasn't hurting him to take the hits. The sounds of our blows boomed around us, the strength being shown between us known only to those that may have watched as we were both so focused.

Eventually I had to double back, jumping backwards to avoid a kick aimed at my head. I panted heavily as he came at me again, not giving me a chance to rest. I moved my head to the side to avoid a punch that barely grazed the head appendage, then lashed out my own punch in the opening to his chest. He flew backward and tumbled a bit along the path, ending up on his rear, stopping himself and holding himself up with his hands, panting heavily. I took my position again and waited, panting heavily still while I glared at him.

"This body is so odd." He grumbled as he looked at his hand and then at his feet, which were covered in spikes, a few of which had left bloody marks on my arms. They were very sharp. "What kind of fighting type has a pillow for a hand?"

He shuffled up onto his feet then and then suddenly he froze a moment, then began laughing hysterically.

"Oh! Is that how you work?!" He laughed out loud and suddenly he jumped into the air, turning around in midair to land on his head, balancing on that spiky point on the very top of his head, arms holding him steady. He then turned with his arms and then wrenched himself as hard as he could in the other direction, beginning to spin in place. His legs reached out as he spun, and suddenly I realized. This was how a Hitmontop actually fought, those spikes on his feet, spinning at such a speed would be very dangerous.

"Here I come!" He shouted out as he spun and suddenly came towards me, amazing that he could still move so fast while spinning on his head like that. He kicked out at me with one of his legs as he came close.

I dodged, rolling to the side, as he flew by me. There was no way I could just block those kicks. If I didn't miscalculate and get stabbed by one of those spikes, then the other leg would join in and just kick me straight on as he spun.

I stood up as I watched him trying to regain control. Apparently spinning was hard to control, he was having difficulty turning.

"Come on how do I..." He was trying to turn around but instead his head top caught the ground and he ended up rolling to the side of the path into the bushes.

"Oh come on-crap!!!" He shouted out and I heard a rustling on the end of the bushes and his voice as he yelled in panic.

I rushed to the bushes and jumped through, barely stopping myself as suddenly a steep cliff met me. I held my arms out to balance, but I was tipping forward slowly.

"I got you!" Suddenly a fan like tail slapped be back away from the cliff. I fell to the ground and looked up to see Skitty, looking at me worriedly and panting, she must have had to run quite a ways to catch up to me and Hitmontop.

"Are you okay?" She asked me and I nodded and sighed thankfully.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you." I stood up and crept closer to the edge of the cliff, looking over the edge. It wasn't exactly a completely vertical cliff, it was more like a steep hill into the forest below. I could see Hitmontop at the bottom, battered and bruised from his tumble down the hill. He wasn't moving, but I assumed he was probably okay, just out cold.

I sighed and sat down again, crossing my legs and Skitty came to me again, "You've got some injuries..." She noted worriedly.

I looked at my arms and legs a moment to access my damage. The spikes from Hitmontops legs had given me a few scratches, some deeper than others, but they were already healing noticeably quick. "I'll be fine, they'll heal quick." I looked at her and smiled, "Are you okay though? They were after you to begin with."

Skitty looked to the side a moment, her tail whipping out to scoop up her basket again, the handle settled nicely on the large bump of her tail. "I'm fine...thank you for protecting me back there."

"It's fine, just so you know though, I don't think it was their fault. They're apparently being controlled it seems."

She nodded. "I gathered that from everything he had been saying..." She said softly and looked away and I looked at her a moment.

"Um...are you okay?" She blushed then and her tail seemed to wiggle with the basket.

"Y-yeah...just figured um...I don't know...nevermind."

I tilted my head slightly and couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "Okay..."

We sat together as we waited, the sun was starting to go down, and we heard a sudden voice call out to us. "There you are!"

It wasn't any voice I was familiar with, so I rose slowly and Skitty hid behind me as we both started out into the forests trees as a blue glow began to come towards us quickly. As the figure drew closer I could see the blue flames glowing all the top of its body, shaped in the form of a chandelier. The middle of its body had yellow glowing eyes. Was this another ghost type pokémon? I had never seen this one before.

She stopped in the air in front of us, looking at us a moment before she floated down to the Hitmontop.

"You impudent fool. Get out of that child, you know better."

The black aura surrounding Hitmontop jumped away from his body, taking shape into another ghost type, a small candle like one with a single blue flame on the top of its head.

"Sorry...Mistress..." It said dejectedly, refusing to look up from the ground.

"Go home at once, you and your brother and sisters will own up to your foolishness once you're all accounted for." The larger ghost said sternly and waved its long appendage at the smaller one.

"Yes Mistress..." And with that, the small candle slowly vanished. The large ghost type then waved her candles at Hitmontop's body, a purple glow surrounding him and lifting him up in the air. Slowly, she brought up to the top of the hill to us and back out onto the safer pathway.

The Mistress, as it seemed she was called, slowly placed Hitmontop on the ground before addressing me. "I'm sorry for the trouble he has caused, rest assured he and his siblings won't be allowed to haunt for ten years."

"Ten years? Geeze..." I asked and thought a moment, "I mean...sure they did something bad...but ten whole years is a really long time..."

She chuckled slightly, one of her candles coming up to her main body a moment as she did, "Oh child you misunderstand, ghost pokémon are without age. Haunting is like life to us too, to not be able to haunt is like being told not to breath for you."

I nodded, "Okay, I'll trust you on that." I simply stated and continued, "So, you're the Mistress I heard Psy speak about earlier?"

"Mistress Chandelure, at your service young one." She did a bit of a bow and I found myself blushing suddenly.

"Um...okay..."

She giggled, "Forgive me...but yes, I am the Mistress for the woods, which basically means, that all the ghost type pokemon in the immediate area all answer to me. Those naughty candles that have possessed your fellows are my children, and if it wasn't for you, they'd be getting to live their lives, but it is good you stopped them. They used trickery to get those bodies."

"What do you mean?" I asked then, "I'm confused on how this happened..."

"Well darling, there's something to explain first. While haunting is indeed something ghost pokémon love to do, there comes a time when we simply just...want to live. To breath, feel, and experience a life. We are ageless, so time is meaningless. To be able to live a life and feel the exhilaration of something done successfully, or a life lived to its fullest, is something we long to have."

She hovered over to do a small dance around Hitmontop then, his body glowing purple once more, "So it is with such individuals, like this poor boy here, that we strike deals with, deals in which we in return get to live in their body, either cooperatively, or them letting us take full control while their mind just kind of fades away." She completed her dance then, Hitmontop's body ceasing its glow as she sighed.

"In such, we get to live as someone else. Sometimes, pokémon come to us willingly, either tired of life themselves or they have done something so horrible or lost something so precious they just can't take living in their life anymore. We make a deal, in which we do something for them, and in return, we get to live with them, or have their body to live our own. This is how us ghost types evolve, through the experience of life. I have been for hundreds of years, and have led many separate lives. My children are young, even for ghosts. They are foolish and do not understand the nature of their misdeed or how to interact with the living. Given time and the right host though, they will learn right from wrong."

"Ah, thank you Mistress Chandalure, for finding them." Psy's voice suddenly spoke out and I looked up to see him sitting in a tree, tail flopping lazily as always. His face however had a large black bruise on it. It seemed Machop had managed to get in his attack after all, but other than that, there did not appear to be any injury on him.

"Psy! Is Axel okay?!" I called up to him and the psychic type nodded to me.

"Yes, Axel is okay, a little battered, but he defeated his opponent. He is watching over them. They are back along the path. Please return and we will have the Mistress extract her children from them." Psy teleported then and I started to run back, Skitty behind me and Mistress Chandalure hovering Hitmontop along as we went.

________________________

"Return home to your brother and wait for me." The Mistress told both her kids when she had pulled them out of the younger Hitmontop and Machop, both of whom were laying off to the side, passed out, with the older Hitmontop as well.

"Yes Mistress..." The two small candles mumbled and began to fade, but before they did she interrupted.

"Oh, wait though, where is your last brother?"

"He got to inhabit that forth one that was with them...he had a big log..." One said softly, still dejected.

The other seemed to think this might be a chance to lower her punishment. "He went off on his own and went west, back to the town."

"Perhaps he is going to attempt living as Timburr, I will attempt to let Hypno know, he can extract him." Psy stated.

"Tell him to be careful, I doubt he would be willing to let himself be taken out of this chance." Mistress Chandalure advised before she waved at her two kids, "Back with you then, I will follow shortly."

The two candles then vanished and she did another small bow to us all. "I shall take my leave then, thank you for bringing this to my attention Psy, I will be sure to discipline them for their actions." She looked directly at me then, "You though...what is your name?"

I blinked, "Um...I am Ruli."

"Ruli, hmm? I will tell the ghosts to watch out for you. If you ever need assistance with...things...please find me." She bowed again directly to me.

"A-all right...thank you...Mistress."

"It is no problem." She giggled and she rose up into the air then, and floated off into the trees, vanishing from sight soon after.

"Okay then." Psy stated, slapping his tail once more and gathering all of our attention. "Skitty, I am glad you are okay, but I'm afraid here is where we must part."

"Very well." Skitty nodded and she looked to me, "Thank you again Ruli, Axel. I will be sure to tell everyone I meet about both of your bravery."

I blushed, I wasn't used to all this, "You don't have to..." I rubbed the back of my head and smiled.

"No no, for young boys you were both very brave." Skitty stated and smiled at us both, before scooping up her basket again and turning to leave. "See you later hopefully!"

With that the pink cat dashed into the bushes to wherever it may be she lived and Psy spoke again, "Now for these three." He held out a hand and it began to glow green, waves of energy flowing from it and washing over the Machop and the two Hitmontop. After a few minutes, all three of them began to stir slowly, and Psy stopped his healing, waiting as the three pokémon slowly woke.

"What...what happened?" Machop groaned, holding his head as he sat up, "I don't remember a thing..." He sat there a moment and looked at Axel, then at me.

"Ruli? What the hell is happening?" He groaned and shook his head in his hand, the two Hitmontops trying to shake their own heads clear.

"You were possessed by a ghost." Psy informed them, "Do you remember the deal you had struck with four Litwicks?"

"Litwicks?" The elder of the brothers started, "Those little things with candles? They had food...we were so hungry..."

"They told us we could have the berries if we gave them something back. We didn't think what they had meant was giving our bodies."

Machop gathered enough sense and looked around, "Where's Timburr?"

"Apparently he may be back home, but still possessed." Psy said, "Come then, I'll take you all home. Teleporting is a little jarring at first but it's the quickest way."

Psy teleported between the three of them and reached out to touch two of them with his hands, then the other with his tail.

"Wait, wait..." The elder Hitmontop started and Psy paused.

"What is it?" He asked and the brother looked at me.

"Ruli...thanks...I can remember everything and what I was doing though I wasn't in control. Doesn't seem the one controlling Machop was so nice, but..." He looked down at the ground, "I just wanted to say I'm sorry...for everything up till this point...after what happened a week ago, I've regretted treating you so harsh, I don't know why I did it all, why any of us did it really, we've all been stupid...I just wanted you to know I'm not looking for forgiveness but I was hoping I could...I don't know...start over or something..."

I stared at him a moment, watching him as he looked at the ground, waiting for me to answer. I sighed and started, "Hitmontop...I'm not Ruli...what I said that day is the truth, I don't know how I got here, or who I really am. If you're really sorry, then when we find out whatever it was that happened and fix it and bring him back, then say you're sorry to the real Ruli...and maybe try being his friend instead...I think he'd appreciate that instead of being bullied, don't you?"

Hitmontop nodded quickly, "Y-yeah...I will!"

Machop remained silent the whole time, but he too was staring at the ground. I couldn't tell what he was thinking, but I hoped the message got through to him too.

Psy chuckled slightly and he smiled a bit, his mouth curving just slightly to show it, "Well said...now back home with you three." With that Psy teleported and brought the three others with him.

Axel and I waited patiently in relative silence for Psy to return, which happened about an hour later just at the start of night.

"Good job you both." He stated upon his return, "You fought well today and brought the children who had harmed you back home. Everyone in town knows what happened today. You'll be happy to know Ruli, that everyone there is very thankful, I expect you will see a much different reaction from everyone now."

"That's good..." I said lightly and Axel nudged me.

"You've been all silent and brooding all day, what's wrong?"

I paused. I suppose I could say it in front of Axel, but what had been really bugging me the last hour was everything that had just happened and how it could even possibly connect to my situation. Could I possibly be a ghost type that had just tricked Ruli into living in his body and I just couldn't remember and just thought for some reason I was human?

"I'm wondering now...if I might be a ghost type...that took over Ruli's body..."

Psy chuckled "It's a theory, but that's not possible, you would remember it if that was true, and I would be able to tell you were possessing him."

I thought about that I moment and nodded, "Yeah. You're right."

"That's all that bugged you." Axel grinned, "If you told me I could have told you that myself."

I smiled and relaxed a bit, rubbing the back of my head, "Yeah, I suppose you could. I'm sorry to worry you."

"We would've reached our destination by now if we hadn't been interrupted." Psy said as he appeared in front of us both, "It's too late now to continue traveling safely though, so we shall set up camp here. You both get some sleep. I don't need sleep, so I will watch over us tonight."

__________________________

They want you to forgive them? A deep voice in my dreams spoke out to me in my sleep. For years of torture and abuse, they just want you to forget about that and let them be your friends?

I looked around wildly in my dream, looking for the source of the voice that sounded just like mine, but deeper toned, as if in the distance.

"Ruli...?"

The voice laughed, sounding like it was coming from multiple directions all at once. No no, I am something greater. And you...you are the only thing...standing between me...and what I desire most...

"What do you mean?"

You'll find out soon enough...do you remember what they told you?

"Who?"

You don't? Hah! This will be easy then. Be seeing you soon...

I woke up right then to the morning light shining through the trees, gasping out as I awoke from the near nightmare and sat up.

"Ruli?" Psy asked me just a few feet in front of me, "What is wrong?"

"I...had a dream?" I looked at my paw a moment to assert I was still a Riolu. I suddenly couldn't remember anything of the dream, the memory of it passed into nothingness like dust carried in the wind.

"A dream?" Psy stared at me a moment, "I didn't feel any dream...I've been here all night."

I kept trying to remember, to bring back what the voice had said, but I couldn't. "It's gone...I can't remember anything about it...but I think it was a warning?"

"A warning." Psy repeated, and he hummed, "Troubling...but unfortunately, we can't head it can we? We have to find out who you are and why you, a human, are here."

I looked to Axel to be sure he was sleeping, "I...I don't know if I can...I feel...odd."

"What do you mean?"

I shook my head, "I don't know...I just feel that this isn't the right way to go about this."

Psy stared at me, "I am not sure what to do myself Ruli, but trust me, where we are going will give us some answers. You have to trust me on that."

"I do." I nodded and looked at him, "I'm just scared of what may happen to everyone I've met so far."

Psy smiled, "You've grown attached to us quickly, you've made friends with the towns people quickly. Perhaps we can find a way to bring back the real Ruli while keeping you here in this world as well." The psychic type chuckled lightly.

I looked back to Axel and thought over, once again, about everything that had happened so far. Although I knew Psy's comment was incredibly unlikely, I couldn't help but hope there was a way.
