Moonlight
#2 of One Shots
Here's something that I had written a few days ago and just decided 'What the hell' and posted it. Most of this will have terms that I've taken from Vampire the Masquerade (PC and RP.) And just to get this out of the way so no one comments it to me, Yes, I know that I changed his name at the end, I'll explain that one in the next chapter...whenever that comes around.

The engine of the large personal vehicle roared as it sped through the forest, the large truck swerved through the sparse trees before it jumped a large hill into a clearing that held a small town resting in the center, the headlights lit the way as did the full moon for the vehicle as it roared toward the town.
Inside of the vehicle there were six people in total though there were five in the back preparing themselves for combat, readying their own weapons which were mainly automatic rifles and side guns, they were all dressed in black combat armor, knee and elbow pads along with flak jackets. There were three anthro's and two humans in the back, the first being the closest to the drop down door was a large male panther with piercing blue eyes, on his long-sleeved shirt read with words 'Boss' on the right shoulder, he pulled a black mask over his face leaving only his eyes to be visible but the black mask blended in with his black fur very well.
The panther stood and looked over the others in the back of the vehicle "Alright people, to recap over what we were going to be doing in that town known as HighHill, apparently the entire village has been taken hostage by an unknown faction and it's our job to go in and neutralize them and rescue the villagers before the dead line for the demands of one hundred million dollars and the freedom from prosecutions comes around, as you know neither of these demands will be met so no fucking up. Got it" the panther called out in a dominate tone as his eyes moved over each of the members of his team and they immediately called out 'Yes Sir' in response which made him nod in approval of they're enthusiasm.
Looking up at the driver as the vehicle slowed to a stop about two hundred yards from the town, it having cut its lights off as soon as they broke through the forest and into the clearing so not to let anyone in the town know that they were coming. The panther turned and opened the hatch to the door letting it slowly open on its hydraulics before quickly moving out with the rest of the team right behind him, the vehicles door quickly closed and moved off back into the woods to await for the teams evac call, the panther ordered everyone to gather around which they did quickly.
The panther looked over everyone in his team, the two human men before the large lioness to his right and finally the hyena standing in front of him "Alright, Jack..." the panther looked to the human that was closest to him who immediately stepped forward, he was a normal height of six feet or so with military cut black hair and piercing green eyes "You are on point, take Lisa and move toward the West end of the town" the panthers eyes moved over to the hyena who nodded in agreement.
The hyena was slightly under six foot in height with the normal fur coloration and brown eyes and hair, Lisa and the human Jack immediately pulled they're black masks over their faces before moving off toward the West side of town with their rifles at the ready, quickly disappearing into the darkness even as the moon shined down.
The panther looked back to those that were still with him "Rick you go with Kite here toward the East side of town and well all meet up in the center of town..." the panther pointed toward the center of the town, a large building with several crosses resting on the roof "At that church there"
the lioness nodded before looking over at the human "Com'on Rick" she pulled her mask over her face before pulling the slide back on her rifle as the human moved past her as he pulled his mask over his face.
The panther watched as the four of his team quickly moved to the opposite sides of the town in two teams, he nodded then quickly shouldered his weapon before quickly running straight for the middle of the town, the team having no idea of those inside of the church watching them directly, the two furs staring at them from a large church window from the second floor with smiles on they're muzzles.
"It seems like those 'demands' of ours really did work, if we hadn't of done that, they might not have sent anyone here to try and stop us" the white wolfess said as she looked over her shoulder over the railing to the lower level that held the benches and alter as well as a large group of various furs.
The second black wolfess smiled at the firsts comment "Mmhm, I'm glad people are so easy to manipulate, so long as you have the proper leverage" the black wolf said as her dark red eyes glowed in the darkness before licking over her muzzle "They'll be here soon enough, they think that they're going to surround us and wipe us out in one swoop, basic combat operation" the black wolf smiles as she turned and looked over the railing at the group as well.
The team that had split into three groups had made they're ways to the center of town very quickly, checking the empty buildings with practiced ease and soon they all were crouched down behind the large church, the human Jack looking up at the large building "Damn, you think they like God enough" he asked seeing the two story building before looking at the panther who had just looked back down from looking at the building again.
"Don't know, don't much care either, let's just get in and hurry up and save the villagers then go home and get some rest" the team quickly nodded, liking that idea on all levels before they split up into two groups, the panther moving with the lioness Kite and Rick, the teams move around to the front of her church, stopping at the large double doors that served as the churches front door.
The panther nodded to Kite who immediately moved in front of the large doors, the lioness standing tall at six four with large muscles, she made easy work of kicking the door open, the lock being ripped off without any problem or difficulty and the team moved into the church quickly taking up a normal defensive yet offensive position with Rick crouched outside guarding the rear, the others moving in a half circle inside the church with their weapons at the ready. The panther motioned with his right paw to spread out and they did so quickly, Jack moving with Lisa to the left, Kite going to the right while Rick slowly started off with the panther toward the alter at the back of the church directly in front of them with the benches separated just so that the aisle was large enough for three average sized furs could walk down it side by side.
Outside of the town near the tree line a group of furs stand, watching the town closely, a female wolf, a male house cat, a male jackal and a female lizard, they all wore black clothing and all had dark fur and scales and they stood silently, almost completely hidden by the darkness around them. The black wolfess turned to the three to her left before speaking
"It seems we're not the only one's on the hunt tonight...what is a military unit doing here" she demanded in a calm tone before turning to a large trunk behind the three other anthro's, opening the truck that held four different bladed weapons.
"I'm not sure but I know one thing..." the female lizard turned to the truck, as did the others, the lizard picked up two twin curved scimitars "If we don't get in there within four minutes, they'll be dead" turning around and starting toward the town, the black clothed lizard spins her swords between her fingers till she was holding them backwards.
The wolfess pulled a kuma with a long chain attached to it, grabbing the handle of the kuma and pulling it from the truck before starting toward the town behind the lizard with the male house cat behind her, clutching a katana in his left paw and the jackal after him with two large broad swords resting on each of his shoulders.
The four furs were only halfway to the town when flashes and the sound of gun fire ran out from inside the large church, the male cat looking up "Seems like you miscalculated Jessica" came his deep voice as his glowing yellow eyes glared at the building, his mix colored fur swayed as the wind brushed over the group.
The lizard lifted her head, her crimson scales glinting in the moonlight as she gazed at the church "I guess so, I suppose they are more blood thirsty than I thought" she says as the jackal leans forward and begins running toward the church followed quickly by the other three as the flashes and gun shots continued echoing from the church.
Inside of the church Jack quickly looks over the edge of the railing on the second floor, his eyes glare down as the panther fires several more shots at a group of furs slowly surrounding him, Rick already laying face down with blood pouring from his neck and chest, Jack immediately raises his rifle to shoot but quickly freezes as he feels cold breath against the back of his neck.
"Mmm, you smell nice" a chilling voice from behind the human says softly, he quickly spins only to have his rifle grabbed followed quickly by his throat, gritting his teeth and grabbing the white wolfs wrist as she lifted him off the ground with one paw like he weighed nothing.
Jack clenches his eyes as his feet dangle, his right hand trying to pull his rifle from the bitches paw while his left tries to pry her paw from his throat, his rifle sounds off as he pulls the trigger sending a hail of bullets into the wall behind the wolf, not being anywhere close to hitting her as he looks down at the wolf seeing her looking up at him with a smile, her eyes glowing red as she licks over her fangs.
The panther looks up seeing Jack being held in the air, spinning quickly and sending a burst of bullets at the wolf that blinked as she looked down at her chest seeing nearly black blood flowing from her chest, she soon smiled before pulling Jack back and throwing him over the railing. Jack should have fallen to the ground but did not, he soared back over the gap from the walkway he was on to the other one on the other side of the church and out a window before smashing into the ground outside.
The white wolf looked down at the panther before shifting into the shadows and appearing behind him with a wicked smile on her muzzle as the panther spun and ended up in the same position as Jack was before he was thrown, he was lifted off the ground by his throat as his rifle was held firmly with her other paw as he struggled to get air into his lungs while his left paw tried to pry her paw from his throat.
The four furs quickly came to a stop as they reached the edge of town, glaring forward as several furs approached them with hunting rifles and shot guns, the furs eyes were a dark glowing purple as they slowly closed the gap between them and the four blade wielding furs,
the cat looks at to the black wolfess to his right "I don't suppose they'll just let us through, should we split up" he asks while the lizard charges forward dodging several shots that were fired at her with unnatural speed before slashing the opposing furs in several places, slicing they're heads and limbs off.
"Yes, we should, otherwise we'll not be able to save any from that attack squad" the wolfess agreed before the jackal dashed to the left while she dashes to the right, the cat jumping from his position up onto the roof of a nearby house before charging toward the church while the lizard charges straight forward.
The black wolf jumped through one of the windows on the side of the church immediately throwing her kuma into the air cutting down several furs who were standing over a large female furs body, moving over and pulling the mask finding that the large lioness had been shot in the stomach before being stabbed and cut with axes and hand scythes. Standing up and looking around at the small room that she had jumped into seeing the door was open to the main hall, she was in the priests study and could even see the house cat run into the aisle with the lizard behind him followed quickly by a hail of bullets while the jackal jumped through a window on the other side of the church.
On the alter sat the white wolfess with blood staining her muzzle as she smiled to the three furs that had busted into the church, turning and seeing a fourth come out of the room in the corner of the church but her smile didn't fade as she saw the fourth. Slowly standing up and licking over her muzzle as she gazes over the dead body of the panther from before who was laying lifeless in the aisle, the four furs glared at the wolfess. A figure of a fur crawling away from the alter could be seen as well as the glistening of blood from the moon shining in from the windows
"Well I see I'm not the only one on the hunt tonight..." the white wolfs voice came, covered with an amused giggle "So what, you four followed the scent of blood...or are you all just passing through" she asked looking around from one fur to another as the purpled eyed furs begin pouring in from the outside through the door behind the lizard and cat.
Jack slowly pushed himself up, the front of the humans masked drenched in blood as it poured from his mouth, the throw from the second floor of the church really doing some damage, he could feel that some of his ribs had been fractured if not broken from the fall he had, moving to his knees and pulling his mask from his face and tossing it aside as blood ran down the corners of his mouth. Wincing and slowly pulling his flak jacket off and tossing it aside, just wearing that heavy thing made it even more difficult to breath, he also tossed his rifle aside before setting his right hand gentle on the left side of his chest but he didn't have time to catch his breath as he felt a gentle paw move over the side of his neck making him freeze before jumping away which was a bad idea as he fell onto his right side in pain, clutching his left side.
Looking up with his right eye as he kept his left clenched from the pain that was shooting from his left side, his eye laded on a black wolfess standing before the moon in one of the most ominous poses he could have ever seen, the black wolfess smiled down at him as her crimson eyes glowed and her white teeth were bared showing her elongated fangs as the human turned himself onto his back with gritted teeth.
The black wolf stepped toward the human "You know, I normally have to just take what's left after Kayla in there is finished, I'm glad you came out here..." the wolfess looked over at the window he was thrown through "If without your consent" turning back to the human and licking over her fangs before she starts toward him.
Jack rolled onto his knees and was ready to dash away when a paw gripped his left side, the sickening sound of cracking bones could be heard as he cried out in agony, he was pushed onto his knees as the paw gripped his side firmly with a much gentler paw pushing his head to the right, exposing the left side of his neck completely. Jack's eyes went wide as he felt a pain shoot from the side of his neck followed by a warm flow of what he knew as his blood, his body convulsed slightly as the pain in his left side slowly went numb, his body shutting down from not only the pain but from another unknown reason, Jacks eyes move to the left, his left eye seeing the wolfesses ears and part of her head as he felt her suckling on the side of his neck, drinking down his blood.
Jacks eyes closed as he felt his life slipping away, the wolfess just drinking down his blood more and more without any sign of stopping till he was dead from blood loss, gritting his teeth as his mind began to go blank and began to repeat over and over that he was about to die without any way to stop it. Soon he felt himself going completely limp before his eyes snapped open with a renewed defiance, his right hand slowly moving to his right boot and pulling a large combat knife from it before gritting his teeth and thrusting his blade back toward the wolfesses head.
Inside the church the wolfess had dashed forward throwing her blade toward the feline and lizard as the jackal charged toward the white wolf that was the groups target, the feline ducked under the soaring kuma's chain as the lizard jumped over it letting the kuma and chain slice through all the furs behind them with the purple glowing eyes. The white wolfess laughed and jumped back onto the alter before pulling two daggers from behind her back just as the three furs jumped at her from two different directions, the lizard and feline coming from the front while the jackal came from the left. Spinning around and throwing both the daggers, one toward the jackal and the other at the feline but she quickly pulled another set from behind her back as the thrown weapons were quickly knocked away, the feline moved forward and unsheathed his katana as he went to strike but nearly a yard before reaching the wolfess he immediately jumped straight up showing a glint of metal right behind him.
The wolfess blinked as her eyes followed the feline as he jumped up in front of the lizard, as her eyes drifted up she didn't see the black wolfesses kuma until its blade pierced her chest, the white wolfesses eyes shot open as wide as possible before looking down as blood sprayed from her chest and back, the kuma's blade had pierced her chest stabbing through her heart and out through her back without any trouble. As she looked at the blade the jackal jumped behind her and with a mighty swing of his left arm he took the wolfesses head with one of his broad swords and before the wolfesses head even hit the ground her body disintegrated into dust and faded from existence leaving only the four furs standing there, none seeming happy nor excited in any way by the turn of events.
The black wolfess pulls her kuma back into her paw as she walks over to the alter where the other three were standing "Is that it, all four of us were called out here for this" her voice showed great disappointment as well as disgust while she looked over the blood stained place before looking over to the left far corner seeing a shivering figure curled up.
Soon the other three furs had looked over to see a female hyena curled up in the corner of the church room shivering noticeably as tears stained her cheeks and her tail quivered between her legs, looking to the other three furs before the feline turned and started toward the hyena. The feline stepped toward the hyena before pausing to look out through one of the windows seeing that in the graveyard there was another of the team, a human laying still against one of the large gravestones, motioning with his right paw to the outside making the other three look out from the closest window before the lizard and wolfess moved outside leaving the jackal and feline to clean up inside and deal with the hyena.
Outside the two female furs look down at the humans body seeing him clutching a combat knife firmly as blood stained his left shoulder completely from the bite wound in his neck as well from his left side from another large gash, looking over his body seeing that he wasn't moving before the wolfess turns to the lizard
"Guess we could only save one, though this..." kneeling down and looking at the human's combat knife seeing blood staining it "This blood isn't his, it's already been long dead, at least from the scent. You think he was able to take out one" the wolf asked before standing up while the lizard rubbed the top of her muzzle with the palmel of her left sword
"Mmm, can't really say but it would look that way, too bad he's dead, might have been useful to us...if he really did kill one, might just be one of the slaves blood" turning the lizard looked back at the church as the humans eyes slowly opened back up.
"Ya know...I thought I could just sit here and die in peace but no~" he said with a weak voice but sarcastic tone as his head tilted back to let him see the wolf and lizard as they stared down at him with glowing eyes "I got you two nattering on about me like I'm already dead, can't you make stabs at me when I'm actually dead, that bitch wolf wasn't easy to fucking kill ya know."
The two females stared at the blood stained human as he spoke and soon the wolfess kneeled down in front of him placing the tip of her kuma against his chin "Well he's not dead but on his way to unlife, we should kill him now otherwise he'll be a bit more of a threat" Jack just stared at the wolfess as she spoke, he didn't seem surprised at her words or even the least bit interested.
At the time the wolf stood back up the cat and jackal were moving toward her as was a silent third figure, a tall dragoness with pure white scales that were covered in black robes, she stopped in front of the human as he stared blankly at her, the black wolfess having stepped aside to let the dragoness through. The dragon pulled her hood back letting her violate eyes glow in the shining moonlight, kneeling down and looking at the human whose eyes had grown dim as his life continues slipping from him
"I am Serri, these four behind me are as follows, the lizard is Jessica, the feline is Eric, the jackal is Shiv and the wolf is Victoria. I must apologies at the circumstances that had lead to us meeting when we never should have but as it stands you are dying..." the human blinked once, his eyelids moving slow as his head moved down so he could look into the dragons eyes while she spoke.
Tilting his head to the left a bit as the dragoness Serri pointed out that he was dying and him just happening to mention 'Really, I had no idea' this making Serri smile showing her long fangs before moving her head back, her left paw moving through her long dark crimson hair that disappeared down her back
"Well now you know human and you also know by now that the wolfs that you came up against in the church were not human, neither are we and soon you will not be either..." Jack listened as Serri spoke, she talked slow and in a very pleasant manner which calmed him down even though he was mere inches away from death.
"I am before you know human to offer you a second chance..." this statement brought several shocked looks from the four furs behind her as they looked toward one another before down at the dragon and finally at the human who seemed uninterested, "Now human, the choice is yours but time is very limited, ask yourself this question, 'Do I want to live'" the dragon left it at that, allowing the human to chew on that as he remained silent.
Jack stared at the dragoness, his eyes blinking slowly as his breathing became shallow before he spoke "'Do I want to live'" he repeated before looking at the dragon after a pause "...Yeah, that'd be nice" this strange way of saying 'yes' brought a smile to the dragons lips before she moved forward bearing her fangs
"Welcome then Alexander" she said pushing the humans head to the side and sinking her fangs into the side of his neck.
