The Movies
A young bear by the name of Shane stood outside of a bustling theatre. He sighed as he slowly started to make his way towards the front of the line. He adjusted his black jacket and ran a paw through his hair, knocking off his hood. He eventually made it to the front and smiled at the woman behind the counter. "How can I help?" The vulpine greeted him with a warm smile. Shane rubbed the bottom of his chin and looked up at the menu of films sprawled above the counter. Before he could say anything, he felt a light tap on his shoulder. He turned his head, only to notice an Australian Shepherd standing behind him, biting his muzzle. He was a little taller than the bear, and appeared to be older than him aswell. His fur was gray, and spotted with black and orange. The shepherd adjusted his sweatshirt and smiled at Shane, "W-Which movie are you gonna see?" He asked, in a timid tone. "I'm not sure, honestly," Shane responded, smiling warmly at the taller anthro, "Just thought I'd use my day off to see whatever crap is on at the movies lately..." "T-There's a rom-com called; 'A Million Ways', but I'm not sure what it's about..." The shepherd chuckled nervously, "Name's Eli by the way." "Shane," The bear shook his paw and turned around to face the vulpine at the counter, "Two tickets for 'A Million Ways'." He handed the woman some money. The vulpine took the money and handed the bear two tickets. He glanced back at Eli with a grin, "Consider it a date, huh?" Eli blushed heavily and nodded as Shane turned back around. "Any food, drinks?" The woman asked, her ears perking as Eli came out from around the bear and handed her some money. "Big popcorn! Oh! And two drinks too!" His tail wagged. Shane watched him with a grin as Eli was given the food. Shane thanked the woman and ruffled the shepherd's hair. They wandered into the theatre, eventually finding their seats near the back. Shane took the popcorn and drinks out of Eli's paws and rested the drinks in the cup-holders installed in their seats, and the popcorn on his lap.
Eli's eyes were drawn to Shane, who was staring at the blank screen with a warm smile on his face. Eli bit his lip and looked down, catching the attention of the bear, "You alright?" Shane asked. "Yeah, fine," Eli responded, looking back up at the bear, "Just...thanks. For this. I don't usually get to hang out with any other people...heh..." "No problem, Eli." Shane shrugged. The movie started shortly after their conversation ending, plunging the theatre into almost complete silence. Shane made himself comfortable in his seat, while Eli shuffled closer to him. About ten minutes into the movie, Eli couldn't keep his eyes off the other. Shane took a sip from his drink and glanced at Eli, "Popcorn?" Eli nodded and thanked the bear as he was given the popcorn. Eli ate some of the popcorn, before resting it on the floor in front of him. He grinned and slowly pushed him the arm-rest separating himself and Shane. Shane glanced at him with a confused look before their lips met. Eli pulled away, giggling cutely, "As I said. Thanks." Shane stared at him, his face flushed pure red. Eli scooched closer, so that they were touching, and hugged him tightly, resting his head on the bear's chest. He sighed softly and stared at the screen, while Shane was looking down at him. Shane pet him on the head and stroked his shoulder, kissing him on the forehead and hugging him tightly. Eli nipped Shane's paw and giggled as the bear retracted it, rubbing it a little as if he was hurt. Eli grinned wider and closed his eyes, eventually slipping into sleep.
