Ever since the defeat of the Lord of the Underworld, the people of That First Town couldn't have been more happy. Without the fear of a power hungry tyrant that wanted nothing more than to consume their souls like they were bacon......or candy, the people never felt safer. Remembering their hero, a statue had been built to honor the angel that had saved everyone. Today, the youthful looking angel everyone knew as Pit, a long forgotten hero from a bygone era that was given a second life as a Brawler flew across the town, keeping an eye out for trouble. Too bad he wasn't in a Melee, since everyone loves watching those more."Does that really need to be brought up?" Pit questioned, the following narration distracting him from his flight. "Everyone already knows that I haven't made many appearances as a videogame character and stuff!""Now now, Pit." Palutena's voice echoed in his mind. "Nobody bought the latest game we appeared in, so it's only fair for the narrator to give the readers a good idea of who we are.""I suppose." Pit replied, continuing to survey the Town. "Couldn't he just write a novelization of our game if that would make things easier?"Laughing, the Goddess of Light replied "You know that would take time to write, Pit, and he doesn't have the patience to even consider doing such a thing.....although I've had this one idea." A veil of light shone above Pit as she explained "That First Town appears to be safe, Pit. I want to talk with you about something.""You got it, Lady Palutena." Pit replied as he vanished in a flash of light. ***If the name wasn't too obvious, Skyworld is the realm in which Palutena watches over the people of Angel Land. Returning to the realm of the Angels, Pit was quick to enter the Temple, where Palutena resided. A hallway there, a random maze over there and soon, he found his Lady. "Uh, my Temple isn't like something you'd find in like Metroid. It's just a few hallways, a personal office, and a throne room." She announced, lounging on her throne as if it were a hammock. Sensing Pit nearby, the Goddess of Light was quick to regain her composure, as the youthful looking angel entered, quick to bow as he stopped in his tracks. Smiling, she stood and walked towards him explaining "No need for the formalities, Pit. We've been and are in peacetime."Caught off-guard by the remark the ditzy Godd-"I am not ditzy!" Palutena randomly exclaimed, feeling insulted for being called such a term. Pit slowly rose, ready to run for his life. She might've been a generally mellow Goddess, but if infuriated............she could make the likes of the Majora's Mask seem friendly...Sighing, Palutena ignored the unorthodox parallel, and explained to Pit "I know this might sound a bit blunt to ask, but does a Smash Bros. style Tournament sound?" "Weren't we already in one?""Well, yes. But it would be us, and we would open as many invitations as

possible." She explained.Taking a second to think it out, Pit replied "That sound kinda neat. I could contact the Mario Bros., Yoshi and Sonic to see if-""Uh, Pit?" Palutena quickly interrupted him, knowing where this was going."Yes, Lady Palutena?" He asked.Shrugging her shoulders, she acknowledged "You know those four are busy at the moment, right?....along with Shadow?""Ohhhhhhhhhhhh." Pit replied, remembering the five characters they just mentioned were busy for reasons you don't need to know."But don't worry, we have each other, the Underworld, and more importantly, the RULES OF NATURRRREEEEEEEEEE!" She exclaimed, ready to hold her staff like an electric guitar."He already made that same joke in the prologue and nobody in the comments found it funny. I highly doubt making that same joke about my army for the second time will make it funnier." A feminine voiced echoed through the halls of Palutena's Temple. A voice that lacked the same peaceful aura that Palutena's had."No need to be harsh, Viridi." Pit replied. "We're just doing what the writer thinks is funny and-""His sense of humor is nothing short of pathetic, especially for a human." Viridi responded through her telepathy with a sound of pure boredom in her voice. "Oh, sure. Our game had this kind of humor, but that doesn't mean we should continue breaking whatever's left of the fourth wall. If anything, we should be repairing it.""Maybe." Palutena acknowledged. "But let's stop attacking the writer, Viridi. How does a Smash Bros. style tournament sound? It's been quiet for a good while, so I'm sure the humans would love to watch a competition."For a moment, there was a pause. And the Goddess of Nature replied "Eh, sure. That sounds like a good idea. Ever since Dark Pit joined my army, he's been craving for a fight of some kind. And sparring with my Commanders has only done so much."Smirking, Pit replied "Let's do this, then."***A week had passed since Palutena's Army and the Forces of Nature had made the agreement to hold a fighting tournament. After finding a field to hold it, Palutena's army of Centurions were quick to begin building a battlefield and the stadium for people to watch the fighting. With the completion of the stadium and the announcement of a tournament involving the great egos of their universe, the humans were more than excited to watch the angel clad in white that had saved them all participate in such an event. Watching at her personal seat, Palutena used her staff as a microphone, and announced "Welcome everybody to our first Angel Land Smash Bros. Tournament!" She noticed her every loyal, if occasionally blind loyalty, commander Pit standing at the edge of the battlefield, ready to fight his first opponent. "At my right, you all know him. My right hand Angel, and the protector of this land. Give it up for Pit!" Hearing the excited roar of the

crowd, Pit couldn't help but do a backflip and raise a fist in the air. Turning around, he then saw his opponent. The flawed clone few knew as Dark Pit. The black winged Angel could be seen lifting a boulder much larger than him, but Pit knew just who it really was."And at my left, we have our first opponent. The alter ego of Pit, and second in command to the RULES- uh, I mean, the Forces...of Nature. Can we have some cheers for Daaaarrrrrrrk Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!" Palutena exclaimed proudly. Expecting an applause, Dark Pit held the "boulder" in one hand over his head, but much to his dismay, only a handful of people clapped almost out of boredom, with only one or two people cheering loudly for him.Dropping the "boulder" to his side, it opened up, revealing a pair of eyes and arms as Dark Pit asked "It's because I'm another clone character, isn't it, Cragalanche?" The rock monster shrugged it's shoulders, unable to make a verbal response. "No matter, I'll be launching Pit here into the stratosphere by the time I'm done with him."The two Angels walked to the center of the battlefield, as they readied their respective bows, and prepared to battle. Rising from her seat, Palutena held her staff proudly as she announced "Three!" The pure blue eyes of Pit's met the neutral red of Dark Pit's. Time slowed down as they glared. The two might've worked together in the past to save the world, but ever since his inception, Dark Pit always wanted to prove that he was better than the original. Well uh, that, and he's been secretly traumatized by stories he's seen of himself and Pit being a romantic couple, but that's a story for another time. "Two!" Dark Pit separated the blades of his bow, and slowly took a fighting stance, never taking his eyes off of his "twin". Pit stood his ground, ready to evade a possible attack. "One!" The two continued to wait, there was always one last thing to say before they could attack. Turning their attention to Palutena, she slammed her staff onto the floor, unleashing a teal colored beam of light towards the sky, signaling they could begin. "Let's do this!" They declared. Without hesitating, Pit fired a light blue arrow at the dark winged Angel, only to dodge it effortlessly. Grinning, Dark Pit lashed out, unleashing a flurry of slashes, with Pit barely dodging the assault. A block here, a block there; the twins were moving so fast all the people could see were nothing but the gold of Pit's bow clashing against the silver of Dark Pit's. Finding an opening, Pit struck his opponent with a tornado kick, and watched as his darkside was sent flying across the ground! landing with a thud. Getting back up, Dark Pit took a split second to look around. Noticing a massive club made out of rocks that lay, he smiled, his wings glowing with a neutral green as he flew towards it, putting his bow away as he grabbed the handle of the club. Turning around, he noticed Pit firing another arrow in his direction, only for

Dark Pit to whack the arrow back with a well timed swing. Acting on instinct, Pit was quick to dodge the arrow, as he looked up to see Dark Pit jump into the air, ready to flatten his opponent. Eyes widening, Pit jumped back, performing a series of backflips as Dark Pit's club cracked the platform they were standing on. Landing back on his feet, he barely had enough time to react as he tasted the rocks of his opponent's club, the impact sending him flying into the crowd. On cue, everyone moved out of the way as Pit crash-landed into the seats. Lifting himself up with a slight groan, Pit shook off some dust as he jumped back onto the battlefield, firing off a salvo of arrows at his opponents. Smiling, Dark Pit was quick to dodge the barrage of arrows, before narrowly evading a bow that was hurled in his direction with the speed of a saw blade. Pit landed on his feet, and saw a black mallet at his side. Knowing how to use said weapon, he was quick to grab it, ready for a swinging as he declared "Ready for round two, Dark Pit?!""You bet!" The dual Pits ran towards each other, their unorthodox weapons ready to do some clobbering. Palutena watched, ready to end the fight if things got out of hand. She might've looked bored, but she was sensing something. A great disturbance had occurred somewhere far away from Angel Land, but it was beyond her power where this was happening. A Goddess does have her limits, after all. Especially as a playable character in Smash, given her current placement on competitive tier lists and- "Do we really need to make a jab at that? No one's going to find that funny..." The Goddess of Light asked as she rolled her eyes, feeling insulted at the joke. Anyway, back to the story at hand. So Pit and Dark Pit were still running at each other, ready to whack away. Pit jumped into the air, ready to slam his "twin" around. Dark Pit swung his club, their weapons colliding with enough force to make a miniature shockwave. The people continued to cheer for the two as the fight raged on.***Far off from where the battle was being held, a lone soldier of the Forces of Nature was seen strolling, keeping an eye on the land that Viridi watched over. Her newest recruit was a blue furred jackal, having been intrigued by what the species could pull off. Today was his first assignment; Viridi sensed some kind of power, and she asked him to go check it out. It didn't take long for the jackal to find what she was detecting. A small chunk of gold that radiated a potentially divine light. Picking the rock up, he asked telepathically "Mistress Viridi, are you seeing this?""I can see it.....I think I have an idea of what it is....I'm pulling you back to base so we can get a better look at it. And you've done enough walking." A forest green veil of light shone above the jackal, a sense of warmth comforting him. Before he could vanish, the veil suddenly vanished as the sky grew

dark."Is there a storm coming, Mistress?""No. Something's interfering with my power." Before either of them could react, the jackal was thrown off of his feet as a red sphere of energy appeared, it's power being enough to make distant trees shake. Lightning could be seen, shooting out in different directions as the jackal attempted to stand up. The sphere took the shape of a human figure, as more energy shot out, followed up with an explosion of energy strong enough to send the jackal flying onto his back for a second time. When the energy dissipated, Viridi saw the shape of a red haired man, clad in armor and a dark red cape that touched the ground. Fear came across her face as she realized who it was, and she screamed "Lucario, get out of there  NOW!"He could sense dark energy radiating off of the individual that suddenly appeared, and Lucario didn't want to know what the man wanted. Turning around, he was quick to run for his life, still holding the mysterious "rock". Getting onto his feet, the mysterious man saw the Lucario run off with what he was looking for. Sighing, he snapped a finger, and he began to hover in the air, beginning to fly as he soared off to where the Lucario ran.***Lucario stopped to catch his breath. He must've run several miles to get away from whoever that man was. Taking a look around, he didn't see the individual that had appeared. Breathing a sigh of relief, he walked, hoping to retaking some energy. "He's still pursuing you, Lucario. But he's too far away for now, so I think-" Before Viridi could finish, the man appeared out of nowhere as he landed with a thud, a ring of fire had appeared, trapping the Lucario from escaping. The man rose to his feet, his eyes glowing with a distinctive yellowish green. "I only want the piece of the Triforce you hold, that is all. I'm not interested in a battle." He said. The Pokémon could sense his pursuer's honesty, but he was ready to stand his ground. He raised a paw as it glowed with a yellow. "Have it your way, then." Before Lucario could respond, he found himself pulled into the air, as a blast of pure red lightning came out of his opponent's fingertips. The pain being too much for him to handle, Lucario didn't notice as the man struck him with near blinding speed with a punch to his stomach, launching him into the air. Then he was slammed into the ground, and he attempted to get up, only to see his opponent raise his leg, performing an axe kick that slammed Lucario back onto the ground. His grasp weakened as the piece of what he heard was a Triforce was taken from him. His opponent took the piece, acknowledging with an insult "You could've just given it to me, dog." Satisfied to regain what was his, the man walked away, thinking it'd be a waste of energy to kill his opponent. "Now to find seven more pieces of this Triforce, then my power will be restored. And then I'll find the other two pieces, and Hyrule will be mine.

Maybe this land, too."
