#3 of The Rise of the Silinde

The Rise of the Silinde: Part 3 â€" A new enemy arises

Once again I'm back with another part to the Rise of the Silinde series almost done with history then it should get a lot better, bear with me.

Note: in case you are paying attention to the time line were skipping ahead 300 years, during the past 300 years the Silindes new home has been completed only recently. And also if I have the time ill see if I can't make a map of Mandos (for your viewing pleasure)

200 years till the birth of Spyro and Cynder

The mountain of Mandos, new home of the Silinde

"Sir the new training hall is complete and the archery range has been built." Fingon said

"Excellent that just leaves the portal room." Angrond said checking off another box on the sheet of parchment in his hands.

"I talked to the stonemasons and the miners they say that if all goes well then they'll have it ready in about a month then things will really start rolling." Fingon said.

Suddenly a solider came around the corner looking very worried. "Milord the scout returned a few minutes ago sir...I think you should come see this."

Angrond seeing the worry in his eyes quickly followed along with Fingon

"What the hell happened?" Fingon said seeing a man about 6' lying in the hospital wing covered in wounds.

"How is he doc?" Angrond said to a middle aged man in a white coat

"Not to good he has sword wounds all over his body no by themselves are life-threatening but he has lost a lot of blood and I don't know if he'll make it, I'll try my best though."

"That's all I ask for." Angrond said walking up to the dying man leaning down. "What's your name son?"

The man weakly opened his eyes. "No time... enemy approaches... apes... 1 week..."

Angrond nodded "Thank you don't say anymore, rest now" he stood up and walked to the doctor "do what you can doc."

The doctor nodded and walked up to the man. "We'll start the operation in a minute were going to try and stitch him back together again."

Angrond walked out to one of the many balconies looking across to the Mushroom forest.

"Sir what should we do?" Finrod said with a strange gleam in his eye.

Angrond chuckled "I've seen that look before Finrod and I feel the same way gather the other captains."

"Yes sir." Finrod said happily almost running

If not for the hood shadowing his face Finrod would have seen a toothy grin and the same gleam in his eye. "Time for some fun"

An hour later

"Are you sure they went this way?" Cirdan said looking around

"They should be just up ahead." Angrond said

Walking a bit further they see a group of what they the man in the hospital called ‘apes'

"I see around 50 of them." Elrohir whispered to the others.

"Good that leaves ten for each, should be a good warm up." Elerosse said smirking.

"Hold up before we go and slaughter them we need to consider something." Angrond said.

"What is it Angrond." Cirdan huffed in patiently

"Have ever stopped to consider that there is probably more to them than this?" Angrond said sitting down cross-legged and crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"What are you talking about?" Cirdan asked quizzically

"All our scouts have trained their whole lives for their profession so I really doubt that 50 ‘apes' could be able to not only corner him in a huge forest but beat the shit out of him we need to consider that perhaps there is an army out there somewhere waiting."

"Hhmm that is a good possibility well what should we do?" Elerosse asked

"We're still going to slaughter them but after this I want all scouts to be grouped in sets of three and tell them to act as if the devil were trying to find them." Angrond replied

"Very well anything else you can think of?" Finrod said

"Not at the moment so without further ado let's go have some fun!" Angrond said happily

"YES!"

About 20 seconds later

"That was by far the most boring battle ever." Cirdan said unhappily

"Well what do you expect when five guys come charging over a hill looking like blood-crazed demons there isn't going to be much in the way of a fight." Elrohir said cleaning off one of his arrows.

"More than likely they were scouts so we still should keep our guard up." Angrond said

About a month later

"Sir I just got the report saying that all the rooms, training areas, and blacksmiths are now complete, and all the portal room needs now is the mages required to use it." Finrod said to Angrond who was talking to a scout group that came back recently.

"Good, good I'll go talk to Anarane and see what we can do." Angrond said still turned to the scout. "So you're sure that there are no more apes around here?"

"Unless they somehow managed to turn invisible, were in the clear."

"Very well but keep your eyes peeled for them though don't let them become lax."

"Of course."

"Hey Anarane where are you?" Angrond said walking to one of the rooms in the hall.

"Hold up Angrond I'll be there in a minute." Came the female voice from the back of the room.

Angrond heard water and felt it was slightly warm and steamy so he assumed she was taking a shower. About 10 minutes later Anarane came around the corner in a tank top and shorts and sat down on one of the chairs with a towel still drying her hair off.

"So Angrond what can do for you today?"

"Did you bring another one of the portal gems with you?"

"Of course I never leave home without at least two of them."

"Good so I'm assuming you already know that the portal room is ready?"

"Yes of course I did I'm head of construction you know!"

"Good good well now were going to use it you did tell the mages to get ready right?"

"Yep but I wouldn't be surprised if they forgot we've been gone a long time."

"True but let's hope that they still pride themselves on punctuality."

About an hour later

"Sir a dragon is heading this way i think its Ignitus." Finrod said excitedly

"Really? very well then lets go see him."

They went to a huge balcony that was designed so that about 5 full grown dragon could land easily at the same time.

"Ahh Ignitus my old friend what brings you here?" Angrond asked

"Angrond great news a new brood of eggs is about to be made!"

"Really! That's fantastic but should'nt you be there instead of here?"

"Yes, yes but we may need you help with the birthing."

"Well why didn't you say so lets go!" Angrond said jumping on Ignitus's back. "Finrod your in charge while im gone."

"yes sir! good luck."

"Thanks."

with that Ignitus flew of towards the dragon temple

The rest of the time (from there to Spyro and Cynders birth) was rather uneventful, there was little problem with getting the mages to come through, the apes attacked every now and then but with no success, and the Silindes power rose greatly, so we're going to skip ahead to about 3 months before their birth to when their parents (who I won't tell their names :3) are going through labor.

Remember constructive criticism and so you know this went from a history lesson to kind of a filler episode so if you can survive the torment that I know I'm putting you through you shall be rewarded with a MUCH better series.
