#24 of The Great Balancing

Prologue:

Day's turned into weeks and then months, life went on. But for the tree wolves that were there at the end it was difficult.

Tarn the Alpha wolf of the Lupine Empire and the current president of the Interstellar Fur Alliance buried himself in trying to piece together everything and forming strong ties with the Assembly of inter-dimensional worlds now that they had ready access to the technology.

Lauren, the former Captain and third in command of the Blackstar had been promoted to Fleet Major also kept herself busy with work training new recruits and updating the current forces with the weapons and tactics of the multi-verse.

Then there was Alec, mate to the champion of their existence Kitt whom had given his life to save everyone; Alec removed himself from almost all contact to the outside world, locked away in his home deep in the forests of the great lupine wilderness.

---^---

Alec awoke in a cold sweat, his chest heaving as he panted, frantically looking about the silent darkened room but saw no one then the reality of his nightmare settled in; Kitt was gone and there was nothing he could have done. Every night was the same dream, he ran with all his strength through the masses of torn metal and dead dismembered bodies during the final battle, he could see Kitt standing in the middle of it but every time he got within a meter of Kitt he'd always disappear; All Alec wanted was to hold his mate and say goodbye. Alec padded through his empty house sitting down in front of his computer opening up the video file from the final battle seven months ago, seeing the two armies spread out over the plains with Kitt and Caster right in the middle; he watched the two duke it out, most of the moves were even too fast for the digital recording to capture. Suddenly Alec stopped the video and rewound it focusing into the few seconds before they began to fight.

"There's something else you should be aware of...this fight isn't about the light or the dark anymore." Kitt said as Alec listened intently trying to enhance the audio. "The fates are using us to enter our plane of existence, they want to rule us." Alec instantly stopped the recording, playing the audio again and again his mind being filled with a deep dark fear.

Lauren sat in her office in the Alliance capitol building on the Lion Home world, surrounded by stacks of reports and data pads. She growled to her self and pushed her chair back looking out the large bay window over looking the span of hundred kilometers of immense skyscrapers of glass and steel, thousands of small flying craft crammed the skies like a highway; she sighed 'who'd have thought trying to rebuild a galactic empire would be so much paper work' Lauren just wanted so much to be back on the Blackstar with Kitt and Alec jumping star systems; with that thought a small tear rolled down her cheek.

The day quickly bled away to the deep red setting sun lowering over the grass lands and the city, Lauren packed up her briefcase and was about to leave her office when her phone began to ring, with a slight growl she stepped back over to her desk and answered it, seeing the image of Alec. "Alec! My gods it's good to see your muzzle again."

Alec smiled, "Yeah yours too, sorry I've been out of touch for so long."

Lauren nodded, "It's no problem Alec, and totally it's understandable; although it would have been nice if you would have told us where you were going."

"I just needed some time to sort things out, listen I'm on my way to the capitol. There's something I need to discuss with you, are you free tomorrow for lunch?" Alec asked.

"Of course Alec, there's a place in sector four I like, I'll send you directions, say one-ish?"

"Sounds good, see you then" Alec quickly terminated the phone call, slouching back into the cramped seat aboard the space liner.

Lauren leaned back in her chair, her dark sunglasses hung across her muzzle bridge as she looked through the menu of the restaurant. Alec came up behind her and put his paw on her shoulder "Hey you."

Lauren jumped up quickly and hugs Alec tightly. "Ooh it's so good to see you!!"

"You too Lauren, or should I say Fleet Major" Alec chuckled.

"Technically you still out rank me, even though you officially turned down the promotion to General." Lauren laughed and offered Alec a seat.

Both wolves sat across from each other chatting about everything that had been going on over the last few months as they eat out along the balcony patio with its glass tables and black uniformed serving staff tending to the other patrons, overlooking the endless fields of yellow and beige grasslands.

"So how are things going with the initiation into the Assembly?" Alec asked as he sipped his glass of wine.

"Fuck, you know, I know they like to be thorough with new universes but the shit we have to do is almost too much. Plus the fact none of our forces are even at half strength yet it's really taxing on us, we're estimating that it'll be at least two years before we're back up to full strength again, we just lost too many ships and people." Lauren sighed.

Alec nodded and looked out onto the grass lands somewhat distantly.

"Anyway enough of my bitching and whining, why was it so urgent that we meet? Not that I mind seeing you." Lauren asked.

"Well, I've done a lot of thinking over the last few months and something keeps bothering me..." Alec started.

"And what is that?"

"...well it has to do with the final battle, I mean from what we had learned about it, it should have ended the entire conflict right, but we're still dealing with the forces from the hell universe, granted it nothing more than a random demon or a couple zombies here and there but the point is they're still here; I researched the past engagements like this and every record of them said that they hell universe was completely shut off." Alec explained.

"It is kind of strange but you can feel it yourself, Caster along with his influence is gone and we haven't been contacted by the fates or any thing from the light side, it's probably just some demons got trapped here when the rift was closed." Lauren said back.

"I know, but I went through the recordings from Kitt and Caster's last fight they said something that was really weird." Alec explained pulling out a small rectangular computer pad and passed it to Lauren, who put the ear phones into her large wolf ears and presses the play button hearing the last conversation.

Lauren looked up at Alec and handed him back the pad. "It does sound a bit odd if not unnerving but we haven't seen any indications that something new has entered out existence."

Alec grumbled, "I know it sounds far fetched but the fates are beings that we know nothing about, except they are incredibly powerful, what if something came into our universe and we can't detect it, each day we do nothing, it grows stronger."

"Okay Alec, I know you're probably a little fucked up still; I can't justify diverting funds and personnel for a wild goose chase." Lauren firmly said.

Alec's jaw dropped a little, "So you're just going to do nothing, this is serious Lauren."

"I can't do anything, we're stretched way too thin for something like this without any definite proof, however if you can find me some I will do whatever is necessary to stop whatever this thing is." Lauren said.

The two finish up their meals in silence and part ways. Alec walked along the catwalk system running between the buildings along the two kilometer tall city. 'How could she just turn me down like that...' he thought to himself.

Using his security clearance Alec entered into the Alliance building of records and sits down in front of a huge cylindrical computer stack with several monitors hanging off of it and a holographic display right in front of the chair. "Computer research and locate all information on the fates." Alec commanded, the computer quickly displaying several files onto the monitors. "Access files nine sierra." Alec reads through the information. '...Like a soft summer wind the seven rode upon their steeds bringing peace and balance to the world and for a time it was good. But as the currents of time flow on, change is the only constant with good there is always evil; the seven also brought war and pestilence to the land..." Alec sighed reading the ancient archaeological text.

"Computer, save data to account Alec Drominaz four. And access any historical or archaeological files on the Great Balancing and Champions of Light and Dark." Alec said getting a thousand differed records. "Refine search to names of Champions of Light and origins." Alec again read through the short list rubbing his tired eyes from being in front of the computer for more than six hours. "Display records on Kitt Redwolf, Night Halcyon and Terrin Gange." Reading through the sketchy information Alec quickly noted down the co-ordinates and gets up from his seat.

Alec stepped up the rickety ancient stone staircase along the side of the over grown jungle the humid air clung to his white furred body as he makes his way up to the top of the mountain to see a set of orangey brown brick spires extending into the sky along the walk way leading up to an old Buddhist temple; several brown robed monks mill around the outside tending to the gardens. His knee length black trench coat hung around his black pants and blue muscle shirt clad body, Alec stepped up to one of the monks. "Hello, my name is Alec Drominaz; I'm looking to speak with one of your elders." Alec said to a mid twenty year old human.

"Of course, please right this way." He peacefully said leading Alec into the temple; Alec had half expected at least some sort of reaction to his presence, these people didn't seem to get too much contact from other races.

Alec was lead into a long room, with low lying tables along each side, probably their dining room, where he see a very old human, with a long white beard and balding on the top of his head, dressed in the same robes as every other human there. Alec stepped right up to the human giving a small bow.

"Welcome traveler, how may we be of service to you?" The old human said.

"My name is Alec Drominaz, I come here seeking information."

"Ah, of course Mr. Drominaz, please sit." He said offering a seat to Alec and pouring him a cup of tea.

"Thank you, I understand that my mate, Kitt Alistair came here a couple times to receive training. I also worked with one of your priests last year, his name was Kway." Alec started graciously taking the offered seat.

"Yes, we remember your mate, and morn the death of Master Kway greatly, he gave is life to help the champion." The monk said sitting across from Alec. "How may we be of service?"

"At the time of Kitt's death, something else happened that wasn't supposed to. I believe that the fates aren't content to sit behind the scenes any more I believe they are planning to enter our existence if they are not already here." Alec explained.

The old human stroked his wrinkled hand along his beard. "Interesting theory young wolf, how do you propose to find out?"

"I've been researching the past battles and every time I get anywhere it always brings me to one Champion, Night Halcyon, he was different from all the others he started out as a champion for the dark but then changed, he somehow broke the will of the fates; I just have a feeling if I can find out how he did it, it may give me some insight on how to find the fates."

The human nodded and hmmm'd, "Indeed, the one called Night is not an easy being to find, but I will try and help you; please enjoy all this temple has to offer while I find the information you seek."

Alec nodded and stood up bowing to the old monk.

An hour or so passed with Alec wandering around the temple never once feeling like he was an outsider or unwelcome, he could see why Kitt would be able to train so well in this environment. Alec padded down a darkened set of stairs rounding a corner into a small meditation room with a small cauldron of fire in its center and at the head of the room was a huge tapestry depicting a battle all oddly written in Lupine, the focus of it seemed to be this red wolf figure; Alec gathered it was the ancient Kitt. Alec moved out into the open breeze to the edge of a concrete fighting square where five human monk face off against each other.

"Would you like a lesson?" The monk elder said in an old wise tone from behind Alec.

Alec looked back and smiled, "Well, I don't want to interrupt their training."

"It would be no inconvenience." The monk said gesturing Alec up onto the square, the five fighting monks stopped instantly, four of the smaller ones step away from who appeared to be the more experienced of the group, he was about five foot, nine, and a darker tanned skinned human. He bowed to Alec and Alec returned with the same, taking off his boots, jacket and muscle shirt showing off his hard defined arms and upper body.

"Begin!" The elder shouted out sending both Alec and monk into their fighting stances, they pace around each other looking for an opening, then the monk leapt in bringing his open palm down towards Alec shoulder but had it caught in his strong paw; Alec pulled the monk forward and sent his own fist down along the monk's face only to have it bated away and then his legs tripped out from under his body. Alec flipped backwards vaulting off his paws having only a second to deflect away the monk's leg and spun in behind him swinging his leg out passing right over the monk's body as he dipped below. Both grunt and pant as they battled it out, no attacks ever landing just being blocked or avoided until Alec leapt off his feet spinning his body around about to extend his leg out when the monk expertly timed his own kick that connected to Alec's ribs knocking him down to the hard concrete. Alec rolled over to one knee panting lightly holding his fighting stance.

"At least I know how Kitt got so good." Alec chuckled and stood up bowing to his opponent. Alec stepped down from the square putting his shirt back on looking to the elder "Wish I had some time to stay and train, the style here is really good."

"You are always welcome to return after you find what you are looking for. But for the time being this is all the information we have of Night Halcyon, just be weary when you go to seek him, he is a champion of the light but many dark forces still surround him." The elder explained, handing Alec a small clear plastic computer disc.

"Thank you, I'll be careful."

---^---

Through the observation dome Alec watched the murky red and black depths of hyperspace swirling violently around the civilian transport, soon arriving at the Vulpine home world; Alec makes his way to a small shop on the outskirts of the capitol, the neighborhood was seedy and grimy a very poor section of town. Alec opened the door to the shop taking off his dark sunglasses and stepping up to the counter.

"How can I help you?" The short lanky gray furred fox said, closing up his accounting books.

"My name is Alec Drominaz, we spoke on the phone yesterday about purchasing a few traveling items." Alec said.

"Ah yes I remember, I should have everything you need, although I don't quite understand why my business." The fox questioned.

"Is that any of your concern?"

"No, just wandering why someone like you requires buying these things from the black market and not just requisitioning them from the military. But as you said it's not really my concern..." The fox grinned and pressed a button under the counter locking the door and then lead Alec into the back of the store through a wooden door, on the other side was a concrete room, brightly lit showing off every imaginable form of firearm.

Alec smirked and looked about the arsenal. "Alright, I'll need four python mark two pistols with five hundred rounds of explosive tipped hollow point ammunition; Two M-415 assault rifles, the short barrel ones." Alec said looking at a huge chain fed grenade launcher. "...Four SMG 12s with attached suppressors and one Lupine TacNine particle sniper rifle with a full spectrum digital scope."

The fox quickly jotted down everything Alec was saying. "Cool, you know your shit; I should be able to piece together your weapons by tomorrow. Anything else you need?"

"Yeah, I need a Quatrix 900 wrist computer with full tactical programming."

"Whoa, the 900 series is hard to come by, it'll cost you but I should have one in three days."

Alec nodded and hands the fox a plastic bank card. "This account should cover all your costs and has a delivery address on it."

The thumping of the hard electronic music rocked the concrete walls of the club, Alec stood along the bar in tight black jeans and an open shimmering red button up shirt, sipping at a bottle of beer and hauling away on a cigarette, Alec never used to smoke this much, just the occasional one with Kitt but the stress of the situation just seemed to warrant it. He sighed just remembering how much fun it would be with Kitt along side him.

Alec threw back the last of his beer and puts his smoke out walking towards the washroom to douse his muzzle fur in cold water, suddenly feeling a paw brushing along his rump; he looked up quickly seeing a sexy sleek bright red furred fox grinning and winking at him as he leaned against the wall just watching Alec, whom dried his muzzle off and smiled back at the fox.

"Saw you at the bar; sorry I just had to touch to make sure you were real." The fox said.

"I'm pretty real thanks, enjoying your self tonight?" Alec said looking over the younger fox's toned body, not wearing a shirt only his red fur and white creamy looking chest and stomach fur then his low riding black cargo pants.

"Much more now that I found out you're real." The fox giggled.

Alec grinned to the fox knowing full well what he wanted. "Well what do you want now that you got your touch?"

The fox blushed slightly and stepped towards Alec, stroking his paw down his chest. "I think you know..."

"Yeah I do." Alec mrr'd as he felt the fox's paw reaching down along his abs and to his jeans.

The fox unbuckled Alec belt then removes his paw seductively swaggering away his tail swaying mischievously behind him. Alec knew exactly where he was going and follows into the darkened back rooms of the club where all manner of sex was going on, random furs partially or fully naked moan and groan as they got their rocks off. Alec stopped the fox just under an arch way, he turned and slipped a paw down Alec's jeans feeling his hard sheath and knelt down before the six foot one inch tall pure white furred wolf.

Alec leaned against the arch way as the fox lowered his jeans down just a bit to expose his soft furred sheath and started to stroke it causing Alec to moan as his member started to slide into the air. "Mmmm wolf you're quite large there, I love it." The fox said lowering his muzzle and raking the tip of his tongue over Alec sensitive tip making his shudder in pleasure. The red fox moans as he continually licks the growing canine length.

Alec grunted and pointed his needy cock at the fox's muzzle and edged it forward, getting no resistance as it slid into his hot moist mouth and along his tongue. Alec rubbed the fox's ears and head fur as he bobs back and forth, suckling like a pup. The fox was obviously a pro at this even at Alec's ten inch and thick full erection he didn't even flinch. Alec's hips begin to jerk forward as the first trickle of the metallic tasting wolf precum began to squirt out.

Alec pulled the fox off his cock and aggressively stood him up and turned him over pressing him against the wall, quickly pulling his cargo pants down around his ankles and rubbing down his firm rump. The fox moaned and pushed his butt back against Alec's hard canine dick. Alec licked his lips and gripped the base of his bushy white tipped fox tail and positioned his ready cock against his tight tail hole.

"Oooh yeah wuffie give it t me!" he yelled out.

Alec grinned and thrust his hips forward, spearing the fox on his thick meat making his yelp out in ecstasy. The lustful wolf growled into the fox's neck fur as he slid every inch into the fox's tight rear then pulling it out torturously slow and then back in each time building his speed and power until he's lost in his mating instinct; Alec's hips blurred as he pounded away at the fox his knot growing larger and larger, wrenching the fox open.

Alec felt his orgasm building quickly and wrapped one paw around the base of his knot as the other pressed down on the fox's back keeping him perfectly still until he slams himself forward, shoving the fox flat against the wall and making his cry out as Alec's cock exploded inside of him sending seven months of pent up ropes of white hot juices into the fox's body.

Alec kept the fox pinned against the wall for a good fifteen minutes near continuously filling him before slowly sliding out of his tail hole and letting the fox slump down panting heavily, his tongue lolling out of his muzzle as he smiled up at Alec. "Wow that was awesome!" He yipped out.

Alec merely grinned and petted the fox on the head. "Yeah it was fun, thanks."

"Can I get your number?" The fox asked.

"I'm uhm going to be out of town for a good long while...but thanks for the fuck." Alec said flat out zipping up his jeans and walked away, leaving the fox sitting against the wall with Alec's cum splattered all over his ass.

"That's everything Mr. Drominaz, thank you for your business." The gray arms dealer fox said as he handed Alec the two cases of equipment then what looked like a silver arm bracelet with a computer screen on it.

Alec smiled and nodded, clasping the computer around his wrist, it taking up most of his forearm. "No problem, I'll have to come back to you more often." He said before putting the cases in his car and then drove away

Along the packed highway, Alec hung his arm out the window of the car as the wind whipped by carrying his head fur and the heavy bass filled trance music pumping along when Alec spotted a suspicious black sedan with heavily tinted windows following him so Alec simply and quickly changed lanes exiting the highway with the sedan in hot pursuit. Alec took several hard turn, taking advantage of the fast highly maneuverable sports car he was driving eventually coming to screeching halt in an alley and bursting out of the door with his side arm drawn.

The sedan pulled up a second later all four doors bursting open and several black suits dressed alliance security agents climb out followed by Lauren, dressed in a similar suit.

"Major..." Alec said.

"Why the chase Alec, you had to know it was us." Lauren coldly said.

"I just didn't want to pull right over on the side of the highway for all to see. What do you want?" Alec said getting right to the point.

"I know what you're planning on doing and I can't let you into that universe, it's too dangerous."

"How exactly am I supposed to get the proof that the war isn't over yet if you won't let me do what I have to do?"

"Listen, this is insane, you want to go into a universe which even the Assembly hasn't charted yet and are afraid to even get close to. There's races in there that are millions of years old you won't last even a second." Lauren tried to reason.

"I'm going to say this very slowly Lauren, if I don't go and find away to fight this thing it won't matter what the Assembly is afraid of, we'll all die. Now are you going to let me go or....?" Alec growled.

"Alec listen to yourself, you aren't Kitt. Yes he was chosen to fight a battle by powers we can't even comprehend but that doesn't mean you have to throw your life away for it...let him go!" Lauren growled.

"Fuck you Lauren, you don't know shit," Alec growled and turned away opening the door to his car only to have it kicked in by one of the security officers.

"Last chance Alec, stop this or you're under arrest." Lauren pled.

Alec bares his teeth to Lauren and with lightning speed sliced his elbow right into the muzzle of the lion officer, knocking him two feet back to the concrete. The others raced towards Alec all being batted away by the much stronger and faster wolf. Alec stood there barely a foot from where he started, only Lauren and himself standing. "You can't beat me Lauren, I know you've gotten a lot stronger in the last seven months but don't think you can compare to my abilities."

"I know Alec...I know...I had to try and save your life...I'm giving you just this one, from this moment on you are going to be hunted and when we catch you, you will be placed under arrest." Lauren sighed.

"Fine...see you when I get back. Just do me one thing and keep your eyes peeled." Alec said climbing into his red sports car and revving the engine before tearing off out of the alley.

The trip to the multi-verse took nearly a week for Alec to weave and hide his identity and equipment, stowing on pirate and cargo ships but eventually Alec found himself on a small grimy merchant space station hanging around a dead, desolate asteroid on the far fringes of space. Alec laid his equipment out on his bed, making sure everything was there, pushed a button on the wrist computer he had gotten on the Vulpine home world.

"Access assembly map data from directory seven," The computer responded casting a holographic representation of the galaxy he was in, sparkling stars and brightly colored nebulae flow through the air of the dank motel room. "Focus sector Alpha and correlate to the assembly travel network." Alec watched a second image superimpose itself over the galaxy scrolling through some text information, he read through it the same time dialing a number into his phone. "Hey Marcus did you get my email?"

A hazy static filled image of a male raccoon popped up on the screen right on the wrist computer. "Yeah Alec...what's with the transmission it's all fucked up."

"Sorry, have to run on the beta channels I don't want anyone picking this up." Alec responded.

"Understandable. Anyway, I did what you asked for although it wasn't easy; looked like there isn't much data on that part of universe 002 except for the fact there's never been any official missions into it, something about certain classified hi-def scans. I don't know anything more about it, sorry dude." The raccoon explained.

Alec sighed and leaned back on the bed. "Alright, send me what you got. I'll hit you back in a couple days before I go."

"Gotch'ya wuffie stay safe, there's a lot of heat after you right now." The raccoon said with a smile before ending the communication.

Alec collapsed out on the bed, lighting up a cigarette and stared at the water stained cracked ceiling, sighing to himself and slowly drifting off into an uneasy sleep.

The next morning, Alec was woken by the beaming deep orange glow of the closest sun that got in through the domed outer roof of the station; he stood up and stumbled into the shower letting the heavily recycled water beat down through his soft white pelt of fur. Alec activated the speaker for the wrist computer to the Assembly new network instantly finding a story depicting pictures of himself and a two-hundred thousand credit reward for his arrest.

Alec growled and climbed out of the shower throwing on his tight black cargo pants a highly flashy red silk shirt then putting on his shoulder holster with his two large silver handguns and covering them in a short shinny black leather jacket. Alec padded down the promenade of the station his sunglass covered eyes constantly scanning the masses of scummy alien that milled around tending to their illegal deeds and eventually coming to the docking ring of the station where several of the ship pilots hung around making repairs and adjustments to their ships.

Alec walked right up to one of them, tapping him on the shoulder. The scruffy grease splotched human looking alien turned around from the open panel he was rewiring.

"What do you want?" he bluntly said.

"My name is Alec; we spoke a day ago about a trip." Alec said looking behind him.

"Oh you're the fur, or whatever you people call yourselves. So you want to get into one of the core galaxies? That's not easy the jump co-ordinates aren't exactly easy to get a hold of." The human said cockily.

"I already have them...can you do it?" Alec said

"Of course I can, but the real question is can you pay for it and more importantly why do you want in there?"

"That's not any of your concern and all I need are the account numbers." Alec responded quietly.

"Good, meet me back here with your gear tomorrow morning and we'll get going. Oh and by the way, with a famous muzzle like yours hanging around I'd suggest a little more discretion than the GQ clothing you're wearing."

Alec sneered a bit but didn't say anything but to turn around and walk out of the loud hangar bay back towards his apartment, getting a really weird feeling. As he approached the door he saw it slightly open and with a silent fast motion he drew one of his pistols and slid around the door frame but didn't see anybody in the room. His equipment had been ripped apart and tossed all over the place.

"Fuck..." He growled and began to pack his stuff back up hearing the old wooden floor boards in the hallway creek with footsteps then the loud cocking of several guns soon followed but the cracks of gun fire as the bullets rip through the flimsy walls. Alec dove behind the bed, reaching one paw out taking several pot shots into the hallway then grabbing one of the submachine guns he had laid out and pulled the trigger riddling the wall with high velocity bullets.

Alec climbed to his feet and turned to the window putting several rounds through it, showering the street in glass then Alec pivoted around seeing three figures passing the large holes in the wall; Alec reacted quickly tossing the heavy cases out of the broken window then twists around drawing his second pistol unleashing a quick burst of gun fire killing one of the attackers the others rush through the door way as Alec leapt backwards out of the window continuing to fire on the way down the two stories waiting until the last moment to back flip and land on the rusty steel plating of the deck plating denting it as he landed.

The rough looking pilot just was finishing polishing the light red hull of his small ship when the sounds of gun fire echo into the hangar then Alec bursts through the blast doors carrying two large duffle bags. "Can't wait until tomorrow we gotta go!"

"We?! Fuck you; I ain't going any where with you!"

Alec growled and tossed him one of the bags. "Triple your fee, just start the ship!!" Alec turned putting two rounds dead center into the chest of a mercenary spraying his blood all over the wall.

The pilot, not having much choice climbed into his ship starting up the engines with a high-pitched whine. Alec followed quickly and the circular shaped ship rocketed out of the station.

A couple hours of hyperspace travel, Alec stood in the cargo hold of the ship making sure nothing was damaged when the human pilot hopped down from the bridge. "What the fuck have you gotten me into?"

"Look I'm sorry, they won't be coming after you I assure you." Alec sighed and slapped from ammo clips into his hand guns.

"Yeah, well you're money better be good that's all I know or I'll space your furred ass."

"How long until we're in position to make the jump?" Alec asked.

"Three hours until I reach an energy junction strong enough to make this kind of jump."

"Good, is there a place I can get some sleep?"

"The bunks are in the back. I'm sure you'll probably turn your high priced nose up at them but better than nothing." The human harshly said before going back up to the bridge.

The three hour span passed so slowly for Alec as he sits alone in the crammed cabin, huddled in the corner, several tears run down his face. 'Was this right? Is he just not able to let Kitt go?'

"Yo wolf, we're in position, come to the bridge."

Alec wiped his face of the tears and inhaled sharply going up to the small two seated command station of the bridge, littered with computer consoles displaying the various systems aboard.

"You have the co-ordinates?" The human asked being handed a small rectangular plastic disc which he slid into a reader in front of him. "Here we go..."

The ship shuddered and vibrated as the inter-dimensional jump engines come online, in front of the ship a small pinpoint of light appeared followed by a violent explosion of white light that condensed into a pure white disc then quickly enveloped the whole vessel.

---^---

The red ship surged through the portal into a section of star dotted space behind a thick crimson red veil of a nebulae, the closest planet was in eye's view a barren rock with a heavy clouded atmosphere, capped with massive glaciers; the space around it was cluttered with huge asteroids orbiting the world.

"Sensors detecting no active technology or life forms in the system, are you sure this is where you need to be?" The pilot asked.

"Yes...I think so..." Alec said staring intently at the ball.

"It looked like there might have been life down there at one time...I'm detecting several gigantic city structures and a couple orbiting stations none of them have any sort of power running to them, from the geographic and atmosphere scans there's high levels of neutrino particles probably from some sort of nuclear or graviton explosions, but they happened what looked like a million years ago or so. It looked like the air is breathable down there though."

Alec leaned back in the co-pilot's seat. "Set us down at 124 by 12 by 43."

"Yes sir." He said sarcastically.

With a roar the ship's landing struts extend, sending a billowing cloud of sediment into the air from the thrusters. The view out of the windows was that of a gutted waste land of what was a vast city, larger than either Alec or the human had ever seen. "Wait here, I'm going to look around." Alec said standing up.

"No complaints with that here"

Alec changed into dark black combat fatigues and slapped in a magazine into his assault rifle, dawning a stylish combat visor instantly feeding him with navigation data and terrain assessments. Alec stepped down the loading ramp out into the hot steamy ancient air of the dust ball world just the feeling of the ground was like being in a dessert. Alec stalked down on of the streets between the half decomposed skyscrapers, masses of steel and rock lay strewn about the city.

It was weird, he had no idea where he was going but Alec couldn't help but to be drawn into the heart of the city to what appeared to be a temple of some sort large arch way's lined either side of the pathway leading to the thirty meter tall door way, the building was easily bigger than the citadel on the lupine home world roofed with a sort of tear drop shaped dome of glass. "I thought you said the sensors didn't detect any active power sources down here?"

"They didn't, although it's possible that the radiation of the nebulae could have affected them." The human responded into Alec's ear piece.

"So if they didn't detect that then we don't know what else is down here." Alec growled.

"Basically..."

"Great..." Alec unlatched the safety on his rifle and stepped up to the door seeing several spot lights around the door way. Alec braced his paws against the huge heavy doorway thrusting all his strength forward and wrenching the three ton door in. He swung his rifle up seeing something that shouldn't have been there, on the inside it was pristine, absolutely spotless, a red silk carpet extended to the center of the kilometer wide open space which was made of a green blue pond and surrounded by a thick green forest.

Alec stalked forward; the sounds of birds ring over head. "Holy shit..." he whispered into his mic, suddenly realizing the communication channel had been cut.

"Who are you?" A booming deep dark voice called out through the paradise.

Alec gasped and took cover against one of the large palm trees at the edge of the lake. "I come seeking the one called Night."

"And what's your beef with him?" The voice called out again.

Alec blinked looking about, not expecting a being that's over a million years old to speak that that. "I want to know about the Fates."

"Do you think you can handle them?" The voice said.

Alec growled. "I can ascend if that's what you're talking about."

"It's not!" The voice suddenly right behind Alec, he turned sharply only to have a huge blue furred leg crash through the stock of his rifle and crush into his ribs, knocking Alec right through the tree he had hid behind and skipped him right across the quarter kilometer pond to the other side.

Alec groaned and turned over his head swimming in pain as he saw a figure standing over him, a tall furred covered being, the features darkened by the intense sunlight beaming through the glass ceiling. "Who are you...?"

"You wanted to find Night, and you got me. I know who you are Alec Drominaz; prove to me Kitt was right about you." He chuckled.

Upon hearing Kitt's name Alec's eyes burst open to full intensity as his aura flashes to life in a brilliant white flame, illuminating the whole space and showing Alec the hugely built blue furred wolf, with his spiky long hair, a trail of white fur running under his muzzle down his broad chest. Alec's body vanished from under Night appearing right behind him and swatted his fist across Night's back following up with a powerful ki blast that hurled the blue wolf to the grass.

Night climbed to his foot paws and turned to Alec with a grin. "You might be as powerful as I was told."

Alec tore off his combat vest and tosses his weapons into the water, leaving only his black muscle shirt over his hard toned frame. Balling up his fist Alec growled pushing his energy up, small ripples of water start to course out followed by torrents of waves crashing against the shore, Alec's aura phased from its icy white color into a heavy shiny golden yellow. "Come get some!" Alec snarled out.

Night inhaled sharply launching himself out at Alec, his fist racing out ahead of his body. Alec's eyes widen as he saw the attack coming and spun down just a few inches letting Night's fist pass right over his head and launched out his leg crashing into Night's chest then belted him across the back of the head, knocking him right to the bottom of the pond with a huge splash.

Alec hung in mid air for a few short moments before the pond began to bulge and burst outwards with a large ball of energy right at Alec's face whom barely had a second to block it with his paw and cast it off to the side where it detonated, vaporizing several meters worth of the forest, then from above Night slammed into Alec sending both of them crashing hard into the forest floor.

The human pilot stood outside his ship feeling the very ground being rocked by heavy explosions. "Wolf! Yo Wolf!! Can you read me?! I'm getting the fuck out of here!!!" he said scrambling into his ship and powering up the engines as a huge blast wave was seen soaring into the sky then explodes shaking the air.

"I think your ride is leaving." Night panted.

"I know...listen, I didn't come here to fight you, and I need your help." Alec responded with a huff, his paws held out in front of himself in the same position as he fired his last ki wave.

"Do you even understand what is going on here; you came here looking for me, what makes you think I can help you?" Night responded.

"No I don't, I just have a feeling is all, something is wrong, the great balancing didn't work, Kitt died for nothing." Alec sighed and floated down in front of Night.

"You're wrong he didn't die for nothing...but you are correct about the great balancing, the fates changed the rules using Kitt and Caster to open a gateway from their dimension into ours." Night explained.

"But how, or more importantly why?" Alec asked.

"Try spending four billion years on the side lines of your former existence and see how bored you get. They want full control again, well more specifically, one of them; the most powerful fate of them all. The others are too afraid to stand against him, so basically it's just us." Night chuckled as he looked Alec over.

"Why you? What makes you so special, other than the fact that you were once a champion?" Alec asked looking the big blue wolf creature dead in the eyes.

"Because, I helped Gabriel enter this realm again...not willingly mind you, it was my job for millennia to guide and train the champions of the light; Gabriel came to me because I could do it without anyone else knowing; if I didn't well what you saw of the armies of hell...he'd do worse to me." Night sighed and sat down.

"Well so you've let the ultimate evil into our world to save your hide, great...how do you suppose we stop this?"

Night laughed. "Well for one we can't do it alone, neither of us can hope to be as strong as them...but Gabriel forgot about a few loop holes in the game. I just hope we can exploit them before it's too late."

The pitch black city park suddenly flashed as if it was day light, a glowing orb appeared out of no where, yellow lightning streaks out from it then as quickly as it had begun it dissolves into the air, leaving a dish shaped hole cut into the ground and a kneeling crimson red fox like creature there, his long bushy tail curled around him. He slowly stood up flexing his paws, looking over his naked form. He looked up to the dark cloudy sky and inhaled the polluted air and grinned. "I'm here..." he said to himself and threw his arms into the air yowling out as his energy flared high into the trees.

The fox walked down the street wearing a shiny black ankle length trench coat and mesh tank top showing his black furred chest off, he looked around the dirty scummy street and saw what looked like an abandoned building but the front of it lit up with the club name 'hell zone' the line up extended down and around the block all of them dressed in punk and grubby clothing, waiting to get into the heavy metal pumping club.

He walked right through the line up a few stepped to the massive four hundred pound grizzle bear bouncer, getting boo's and threats called to him as he cuts up the line. The bear looked right down at him and crossed his arms. "Back of the line foxy" He growled deeply.

"I don't think I'll be doing that, step a side." The fox said.

"Get the fuck out of here, the only way you're getting in is over my dead body. Now piss off before I break you in half." The bear leaned over the six foot tall fox.

"If that's your wish..." The fox smirked and went to walk right past the bear but had his shoulder grabbed by the massive paw. The fox reached back and grabbed the bear's wrist and with his other paw whipped around and sliced right through the elbow joint of the bear causing him to roar in pain. Holding this bear up by the limp arm the fox sent his large heavy leather boot right up into his muzzle spraying blood all over the wall and the fox's trench coat then grabbed his neck and viciously twists it snapping the bear's spinal column in an instant.

The fox grinned back to the crowd as they all run for their lives as he licked away some of the blood splatter that hit his muzzle and entered the club not being challenged again. The club was three floors of black metal; red strobe lights flickered in time with the heavy dark music. The fox slinked right up to the bar signaling over the bartender who was a chubby short wolf that only wore jeans and a leather vest.

"What do you want?" He said looking up at the fox seeing that he was covered in blood. "Holy shit buddy are you alright?" he exclaimed.

"Yes fine, I don't think your bouncer is feeling to well though, get me a drink right now." The fox snarled.

"What do you mean? What'd you do to him?" the bartender answered back.

"He's pretty much dead, guess you'll have to find a replacement." The fox grinned.

"You son of a bitch!!" The bartender yelled as he reached under the bar top drawing a mean looking double barreled shotgun.

The fox simply grabbed the bartender's wrist pointing the gun to the ceiling as he fires it; the shot being heard over the music and sending the patrons of the club scrambling for the exit but all are cut short as the door slam shut on their own and lock.

The fox smiled. "You aren't going anywhere." He lifted the wolf right off his feet with one paw and takes the shotgun placing it against his chest and pulled the trigger, ripping the bartender's ribcage out his back.

The fox turned to the helpless crowd with an evil smile, still holding the shotgun. "I'm definitely going to like it here." He said.

Out side of the club all that could be heard was the blood curdling screams and gun shots.

Lauren jumped up in bed feel a torrent of violent deaths and an immense power unlike anything she'd ever felt before. She quickly threw on a pair of grey track pants and a top going to her computer punching in the number to contact Tarn, not being surprised when he answered right away. "I take it you felt that too." Lauren said.

"Yeah I did...what do you think?" The big black furred wolf said with a bit of a sigh.

"I'm thinking Alec was right...I'll head to the office and start tracking this thing down"

"Good, I will get an emergency council session called. Here we go again..." Tarn said getting only a nod from the blonde female wolf.

"Where are we going?" Alec asked as he hopped over a chunk of rubble slowly being withered away by the high winds.

Night looked back momentarily before carrying on. "To get where we're going we need to find a gatekeeper, these are beings that populate existence and have special talents that allow them to open portals to places that even an ID drive cannot reach."

Alec panted trying to keep up with the blue wolf as they approach what was a building at one time, the entrance blocked by a pile of massive rocks sprouting with pieces of steel beams probably part of that same building. "And there's one on this planet?"

The blue wolf shook his head starting to move the rocks tossing them effortlessly to the side uncovering a long stair case that descends into the belly of the planet, over hung with rusting pieces of pipe and wires. "No, but since your ride ditched you we need to find alternate means of travel." He said starting down the rickety stair case.

As the pair moved further and further down the stairs the outside light grew dimmer and dimmer until Night held his paw up as if holding a torch his palm beginning to glow illuminating the path soon show a massive chasm seeming to stretch into infinite, the walls layered in windows and buildings interconnected in a maze of catwalks and train tracks. Alec walked closely behind Night not wanting to get lost as they navigate the network. "This was our main staging area for our armies, from here we sent out battalions of troops against our enemies..." Night and Alec finally came out into an arena size room with a raised ring of dusty gold looking metal etched with a forgotten language; and with a mere blink of an eye the powerful spot lights turn on beginning to show the true size of the room, looking big enough to fit an entire city in, the walls and ceiling covered in craters and blast holes. "...this is also the place where I fought my great balancing." Night explained with a mournful sigh as he came around a three meter tall section of the steel floor that was ripped up and melted into a vertical position.

Alec just gasped at the shear dimensions of this place and the damage that had been done to it. "Will the jump point still function?"

"I'm pretty sure...I must warn you we're not going into the most friendly place, watch your step, not all of your powers will work there as the gatekeeper is very paranoid of champions." Night explained stepping into the ring soon after being enveloped by the portal.

Lauren has to cover her muzzle to keep her from throwing up as she stepped into what was left of the club; the floors covered in pools of crimson blood, torn limbs hung off the bar and from the rafters while the bodies they once where connected to litter the floor. "My gods..."

"Major...we don't have any fucking idea what could have done this..." One of the detectives said stepping over one of the bodies before it was scooped up and placed in a body bag.

"Neither do I...were their any witnesses, how about video surveillance?" Lauren asked as the two exited the building.

"Nothing, no one saw anything and all the cameras seem to go blank at one time so we're nailing this slaughter to have happened at around one a.m. last night." The bobcat detective said.

"Thank you, please keep me posted." Lauren said getting back into her car and taking a moment before whipping her gun out pointing it to a blood red fox, with black ear tips and neck fur sitting in her back seat. "Who the fuck are you?" she growled.

"Please...put it away...you saw what I did in there, do you think that is going to harm me?" The fox chuckled.

Lauren bared her teeth but knew he's right and put the gun away. "What do you want?"

"Well I thought I'd check up on what kind of fun I'll have while I'm here; since Kitt is already pushing up the daisies and your Alec is no where to be found."

"So what are we going to duke it out right here right now?" Lauren asked.

"No, no...that wouldn't be very sporting of me. I'm just letting you know that I am here; the name is Gabriel by the way. You will sit by and watch me slowly kill off every single person in this pathetic galaxy then it'll be your time and you know what's even better, there's nothing anyone can do to stop me" The fox laughed out loud as Lauren whipped her paw back growling in rage forming a ball of ki in her palm but he was already gone. Then she saw the officers and on lookers to the crime scene suddenly begin to convulse and spit blood from their muzzle the yowls of pain and agony rip through Lauren's ears, one by one each of them collapsed in heaps of blood stained fur.

"No!!" Lauren yelped out. "God damn it Alec where are you?!"

Speeding into the capitol building Lauren dashed out of her car and burst her way into the meeting Tarn was having with several of the other senators. "Lauren...what's wrong?" Tarn asked seeing her near in tears and panting heavily.

"He slaughtered them all, every single one of them....I couldn't do anything, Tarn we're in deep shit and I don't think there's anyway out of this!"

Tarn rushed over to her quickly dismissing the other senators and shut the door, grabbing Lauren by the shoulders and shaking her gently. "Calm down Lauren, breath...what do you mean? Who slaughtered them all?"

Lauren gasped for breath, not ever seeing that much carnage caused by one person so quickly. "He...he...he called himself Gabriel. I don't know what he is, he told me he was responsible for what happened last night then he made...oh my god..." Lauren collapsed to her knees crying. "...thirty people just explode from the inside, I felt every cell popping from the inside out, he tore them apart; and...and...there was nothing I could do!"

Tarn looked at her, never seeing Lauren this distressed from violence before. "Listen to me..." he started, kneeling down next to her barely getting a response. "Major!" he shook her a bit finally getting through. "I need you, now listen here, nothing is unstoppable do you hear me, I want you to find this thing, tell me and we deal with it together. I've gathered every ki barring fighter in the Alliance they all felt him and they want to stop him. But we can't do that unless you find him, do you understand me?!"

Lauren wiped away the tears and nodded. "Y-yes sir..."

"Good, just calm down, we'll make it..." Tarn said hugging Lauren looking out of the windows of his office just knowing this was going to get worse.
