The Recruits (Dragon TFTG)

By Crola_the_Snake

Ken lied down in the clearing and sighed. He had the worst day of his life. His car broke down in the middle of the nowhere, when bandits decided to take his stuff. They threw him down a cliff, but for unknown reasons, he survived. However, he is lost and walked for four hours when the sun set, rendering his vision useless. He stumbled through the dark until he found a large clearing

Now he is hungry and thirsty. There's no source of water around nor any trees with fruits. Ken clutched his stomach in hunger, thinking about his life. It sucked. He just graduated college, but there's no jobs available in his state. Then his girlfriend broke up with him. His parents are already dead, and their old house is beyond repair. Thinking there's nothing left for him, he decided to move. Then the car broke down, leading to the worst day of his life.

Ken stared at the stars when he saw a light zip through space. Thinking it was a shooting star, he wished half-kidding for a new life. He closed his eyes and listened to the wind, when a boom ringed through the air, shaking him from his position. He sat up and saw black smoke above the trees. Despite his exhaustion, he stood up and walked over where the smoke is coming from.

A few minutes later, Ben came across a crater at the ground, in the middle of it a human-sized object is found. The object is shaped like an egg, shiny white metal covering its surface. Unaware, Ken approached the egg, descending into the crater. The egg is flawless, the surface reflecting Ben's face on it. Ken decided to touch the egg.

It's cold. Ken was surprised to find the egg cool, since it just burned its way through the atmosphere. A hum came from the egg. Then a circle of blue light appeared on the egg right where Ken touched it. Ken removed his hand from the egg, when blue lines of light appeared beside the circle, forming a large rectangle. Then the part of the egg between the rectangular lines popped out of the egg, falling in front of the egg like a horizontally placed doorway. Ben stood in front of the opening, taking a peek of the inside.

Suddenly, tendrils quickly came out of the opening and grabbed Ken on the arms and legs, dragging him into the egg. Ken tried to grab the edges of the opening, but the tendrils are too strong. Releasing his grip of the edges, Ken was pulled into the egg and hit the wall of the egg. The door of the egg suddenly lifted, covering the opening.

After a few seconds in the darkness, a lamp at the floor of the egg emitted blue light, revealing Ken and his awkward position facing the wall. Ken stood up, arms and legs still clutched by the tendrils, as a synthetic female voice spoke.

"Subject acquired," it said, "Now commencing gravity neutralization." Ken felt a liquid pour over his head. He looked up to see a hole filling the egg with clear water. Ken felt panic as the water rose to his knees. Suddenly a face mask dropped from the ceiling, connected to the wall with a tube. Desperately, Ken grabbed the mask and put it on. The water has already submerged his chest. Closing his eyes, Ken felt the water rise above his face. Ken started to float as the water fills the egg completely.

"Gravity neutralized," the synthetic voice said, "Now commencing injection." ken felt a sharp pain on his wrists and feet as the clutch on him was released. Opening his eyes, he saw trails of blood spill from his wrists and feet. Suddenly pain surged through his body as it begins to change.

His hands are now covered in blue scales, his nails becoming claws. His arms slowly to be covered with scales as they grew slenderer. His feet became covered in scales, as well, nails turning to claws. His legs became more feminine as they became covered in scales. As the changes reached his upper body, two lumps appeared on his chest. New appendages are now growing on his back, webbed with leather-like scales. Spikes grew on his back as the blue scales covered his front torso, waist narrowing and hips broadening. His organs changed as well, changing his male reproductive organ to a female's. An appendage, covered with spikes on the top, grew behind Ken. Her neck lengthened, ears changing to become crest-like. Her mask broke as her face grew forward to become a muzzle. Her old omnivore teeth fell out as carnivore teeth grew in their places, tongue lengthening. The scales covered her face as her hair fell out, completing her transformation to a dragon. Ken, due to the pain and exhaustion, passed out.

"Transformation now complete," the synthetic voice said, "Now commencing transportation."

Kendra, stirred from her sleep, rolling over to free her wings. Hold on, wings? She sat up and found herself in the lower part of a bunk bed. She looked around and saw herself in a white room.

Aside from the bunk bed, two chairs are propped up against a table long enough for two people. Numerous thoughts ran in her mind. Isn't she supposed to be in the woods, lost? Wait, she? She looked down and saw her blue draconic body, releasing a sharp scream. Isn't she-he supposed to be a human? And isn't her name Ken? What the hell is going on? She went and cupped her breasts to see if they're real. A wave of pleasure ran through her, suggesting that her breasts are real. She continued cupping them, until she removed her hands out of sheer shame. She went and touched her pubis to see if her male organ is still there. It is only a mere flatness with a slit. A hum filled the air as an automated door opened, revealing a yellow dragon lady, carrying a tray with what appears to be meat on it.

"Oh, it's seems that you're awake," she said, placing the tray on a table near the wall. Kendra looked at the dragon dumbstruck.

"Don't worry, I'm a friend," the yellow dragon said, "My name's Lou." She raised her hand for a handshake.

"Ken...dra," the blue dragon slowly replied, still dumbstruck as she shook hands with Lou.

"Kendra. That's a nice name," Lou said cheerfully.

"What are you?" Kendra asked after a while.

"Simple. A dragon," Lou replied, as if she's telling an undeniable, everyday fact. Kendra raised an eyebrow, even though she doesn't have one.

"Aren't dragons supposed to be big and on all fours?" she asked.

The yellow dragon merely laughed, "Those are just the myths, silly. This is what a true dragon is." She gestured to her body.

"What am I doing here?"

"You, alongside three others, will conquer the Earth."

"Conquer?"

"Well, actually, there's only two of you since one pod was locked up by the humans, the other pod went into the sea. Thanks, crappy teleportation system. But yes, the two of you will conquer the Earth. For the sake of our divine race, you will convert every human on Earth into female dragons."

"Hold on, hold on. Conquer the Earth? I can't let you that. Earth is my home. I can't let you turn everyone into... these monstrosities." Kendra gestured to her body.

"It might take a while, but you will get used to it. Then you will find beauty in it."

"Why would I obey you, anyway? It's not like you could force me to obey you or something."

"Of course, the conqueress has taken precautionary measures."

"Conqueress?"

"Queen Eryn herself is leading the hundred-year conquest that has converted 30% of the civilizations in the galaxy to dragons."

"There are other civilizations?"

Lou gestured to herself. "Evidence. Anyways, eat this and you'll feel good. That transformation looked painful, even on a screen."

"You watched me turn to a dragon?" Kendra said, mouth full with meat, probably venison.

"We watched the two of you turn. It's all seem painful, especially since I felt that same pain."

"You were human?"

"Not human, but definitely not born a dragon. I'm from another system a few thousand light years from Earth. I'm surprised that the queen is willing to go so far out here."

"What's so important about Earth, anyway? We're practically a village in the edge of one of the millions of galaxies in the known universe."

"Only the queen knows of the answer to that. Anyways, let's go meet her." They went out of the room into a hallway that is something straight out of a sci-fi movie.

The floor is a net of metal blocking the wires on the floor, while there are no covers for the wires in the walls and the ceiling. There are two straight lines of light at the lower corners of the hallway, lighting the metallic corridor. There are several doors in the hallway, leading to other rooms.

"Over here," Lou said as they started to head down to the left. They walked for a few minutes when Kendra spoke.

"Where are we, anyway?"

"In the mothership a few million kilometers from the farthest planet here."

"Neptune? If that's how far we are, how did the two of us got here?"

"You know the pod you were transformed in?"

"The egg?"

"It has enough power to teleport you into the aerospace of Neptune, near enough for one of our transporter ships to get you two here."

"Huh." They continued walking and turned to the right at an intersection, when they saw two dragons. A red one is struggling to pull a green one along the corridor, the green one struggling to grab the floor and walls. The red dragon is bulky in build, while the green dragon is slim, almost thin.

"I told you, I don't want to come! I can't let you do this!" The green dragon shouted, as she grabbed the wires on the walls.

"Quit your yapping, sissy!" The red dragon said, angry at the other dragon, "We ain't doing anything for now. YOU will be the one conquering Earth."

"But I mustn't!"

"Hey Demi," Lou shouted from the distant. The red dragon raised her head and saw the yellow dragon. Her anger disappeared, replaced with cheerfulness. She released the green dragon and waved her hand.

"Hey, girl!" Demi greeted back, "How've you been?"

"Good, thanks. The subject and I went along well."

"Wow, you're lucky," She looked back at the green dragon, "Meanwhile, this sissy refuses to come with me. Why would they assign me a wimp like her?"

"Because the others are busy. And you're the only one who's lazy enough to be free."

"Ugh, I hate this job."

"You'll get used to it." Kendra approached the green dragon.

"Hey," she said, "I'm Kendra, what's yours?" The green dragon looked up. She remained silent for a while until Kendra spoke again.

"Don't worry, I'm the other dragon from Earth," she reassured her, "You can trust me."

"...Emily..." the green dragon slowly said, "Why are you calm about this?"

"Well, there's nothing we could do right now, given we are dragons now. Are you female in origin, or...?"

"I think I was female back when I was human. Why did you ask?"

"I was a dude back at Earth."

"Oh."

"Hey, Lou," Kendra looked at the yellow dragon, "Can you explain Emily here what you told me earlier? It seems that she doesn't like the lady over here."

"Who are you calling a lady, huh, punk?!" Demi shouted, stretching her arms. Lou stepped in front of Kendra and raised her hand.

"It's okay, Demi. Just let me talk to the girl."

"Hmph." Lou approached Emily and explained her about the situation. After Lou explained what she explained Kendra, Emily looked back at Kendra.

"And you're fine with this?" she asked.

"Well, there's nothing we could do about it," Kendra placed her hands behind her head, feeling the scales there.

"I mean, we're already dragons and stuff," she continued, "Why not just jump in?"

"You've got to be crazy to believe that! You're gonna let us turn all humans to female dragons? Don't you even consider the feelings of other people in this?"

"Of course, I consider it!" Kendra is now angry, "I know that people will be scared, if not kill us on the spot!"

"Then why?!"

"Because I hate my life, okay?!" Emily took a step backwards, Kendra taking a step forwards.

"I just went through the worst year of my life!" she continued, "My parents are dead, my girlfriend broke up with me, I have no job, my house is in ruins, my car crashed in the middle of the nowhere, I got robbed, I haven't eaten a thing before coming here and becoming a freaking dragon. Oh and a female, at that, too. Do you think your story's any worse?!" Emily had tears falling from her face, her body shaking. She then turned and ran off.

"Oh great, the sissy ran off," Demi said.

She looked at Kendra, "And it's your fault, so I'm getting you later." She then stormed off, following Emily. When the metal banging went silent, Kendra looked down.

"I'm sorry I got angry like that," she said.

"It's okay," Lou said, placing her hand on the blue dragon's shoulder.

"When someone's life is suddenly altered, he or she is most likely to be stressed out," she continued, "And you just went through the worst in your life. I'm surprised you aren't crying nor freaking out right now."

"Dudes are hardy when it comes to emotions," Kendra said, looking at Lou with a slight smile on her face.

"I guess I broke down because my emotions got messy, being female and all," Kendra looked back at the long corridor, "Will she be okay, though? Emily, I mean."

"Well, the ship's large enough to get lost, but other than that, she won't be likely to end somewhere dangerous."

====================================

Emily is running blindly along the corridors, unaware of where she is going. She doesn't care, she just wants to get out of there. Out of the ship and back into her life. Exhausted, she stopped by a nearby door.

But then her family won't accept her like this, she thought. She noticed an white glow on the wall across the door. She looked through the window of the door and saw merely a light of white. Unsatisfied of what she is seeing, she entered.

She entered a large chamber in the ship, met by hot gusts of wind. Looking down at the source, she saw a ball of white fire. The platform she is standing on extends to near the center of the room, where a control panel is located. Looking back below, she realized that the ball of fire below looks oddly similar to a star.

Maybe this is what powers the ship, she thought. She looked at the waist-high fence at the edge of the platform. If this is a star, then it must be hot. She began walking to the edge. Even dragons must not be able to sustain that much heat. Emily grabbed the fence. Her only choices are joining the dragons in the conquest, or dying. She tightened her grip. She prefers the latter option. She went over the fence, hanging over the colossal fire that seems to be willing to eat her. Closing her eyes, she released her grip.

She felt weightless for a few seconds, before something hit her. Then she heard beatings and a groan. Emily opened her eyes.

She's not dead? She looked up to see a bulky red dragon struggling to fly up with her wings.

"You!" the only thing that Emily managed to say.

"Oh, dear," Demi said, frustrated, "you're heavy for a sissy!" After a while, Demi landed on the metal platform, releasing Emily tired.

"Oh God," Demi said, lying down at the metal platform, "Let's not do that again." Emily sat down beside Demi and stared at the searing star below them.

"Why did you save me?" Emily said, "I thought you hated me."

"No I don't hate you. Annoyed sure, but then, you're under my watch. I can't let anyone under my watch get hurt. I oughta learn stuff, like responsibility," Demi sat up, "That's why I gotta protect ya and the other pal, even if she's not on my list." Emily started to see it. Demi's behavior reminded Emily of someone from her life.

"I don't care if you don't want to help conquer Earth," she continued, "If you're under my watch, you don't go nowhere without my permission. Is that clear?"

"Yes ma'am," Emily replied. Demi stood up.

"Good. Now let's get out of here."

====================================

"Ugh," Demi whispered as she walked along the corridorst , carrying a tired Emily on her back.

"Just when I thought I'm done carrying this girl... Oh, my wings..." Demi looked at Emily, Emily reminding her of Lou when they were recruits in the army.

Lou was a wimp back then, unable to fire a blaster with yelping. The other dragons in the camp teased her about that, as well. Unable to look away, Demi stepped in to protect the wimpy yellow dragon. Ever since then, they became friends. They have always helped each other during the conquest, Demi's brawn and Lou's intelligence balancing each other.

"Hey Kendra, look! It's them," a voice heard a distance from Demi's location. Faint bangs of metal are heard as the other two dragons came into view.

"Oh no," Lou said as she saw Emily.

She looked at Demi, "Is she okay?" Demi looked at her passenger, smiling.

"She's just tired from all that running," she said, "Had to carry her all the way here."

"Oh thank the elder goddesses she's okay. I'm so worried." Demi placed her hand on Lou's head and rubbed it.

"You're always worried, whether for yourself, for others, or for that mixtape you lost a few days ago. I guess that's what made your charm."

"Thanks, Demi." Kendra approached the red dragon.

"I'm sorry I got mad at Emily," she said, "I never meant what I said."

"Well, occasional venting of anger is not bad once in a while, just make sure you don't hurt anyone," Demi said.

"I guess with everyone happy here," Demi said, "I think we could go to the queen now."

"But what about her?" Kendra asked, pointing at Emily, still asleep on Demi's wings.

"Just let me drop her to her room and you two go ahead meet the queen," Demi said, "The queen specifically requested to meet the both you and Emily at separate times, anyway." Demi continued to walk ahead, while Kendra and Lou walked to the opposite direction.

"Why are the hallways empty, anyway?" Kendra asked after a few minutes of monotonous walking.

"Many of the dragons are asleep right now," Lou said, "Although you will find a bunch going graveyard shift."

"Oh." They continued walking. After ten minutes of walking, they reached two metal doors at the end of a long corridor.

"This leads to the bridge of the ship, as well as Queen Eryn's throne," Lou said.

She looked back at Kendra, "Are you ready for this?"

"Well, I'm here, so..."

"Good. Kendra, meet the queen of the dragons and the conqueror of the stars, queen Eryn Camicer." A hum fills the air, before a gust of wind blows as the doors opened...
