#26 of Diary of an Awkward Youth

Dear Diary,

So Aaron, Nicolas and I went out on our first little adventure around where we live. Things have been pretty interesting around the house, but we felt like it was time for us to explore a little, you know? So yesterday we went out and walked around, wandered a little further from home than mom and dad usually let us and we found something sort of weird. So, okay, Alaska has these places all over the place for people to set up for a night or two so they don't freeze trying to camp and originally, that's what we thought the little shack we found was, but it turns out that this odd little shack is something a bit more.. Well? I guess some people would say sinister...

I don't know how to explain this place, it's got no windows and the floor is like marble, but it's always warm to the touch which is weird, especially in this sort of place. It has shelves with hundreds of books in this weird sort of language.. Honestly I don't know what to make of it, but if I had to guess I'd say it's pretty damn old. I'm putting a little snip-it in this entry too, I recorded what looked like a word out of one of the books. Anyhow, Aaron said it was creepy, he even pointed out a few things that made me and Nicolas twitch, like the fact that one of the shelves had this thing on it called the Pear of Anguish. Apparently it's an ancient torture device!

Something really weird went down here and I don't think I want to know what, but the weirdest part is? This shack is actually still in the borders of our property... Which means technically, everything here still belongs to my family. There's something strange about this place, that's for sure and me and the guys? We plan on finding out what, but for now? Well, we're just trying to adjust to life here. It can be pretty weird, like the other night? I swear I smelled someone smoking a cigar in the bathroom and no one in the house smokes except for our dad and well... He doesn't smoke tobacco.
