#45 of Pokemon Journey to another world

Journey to Another World 3 Ch. 18 In the end, both trainers had paid up with everything that they had on them, but actual money. They had hoped that by teaming up and battling a trainer that they could finally get some money from someone. So I walked away from the battle with several different types of berries, potions, and several other small knickknacks. I looked back once more before I entered the cave at the two and saw them still cowering together, hugging each other while sitting on the ground shaking. I took a long sigh. ‘Even from where I'm from, people are afraid of me due to my height. Even if I don't do anything and just stand still, people think that I'm pissed off when they look at my blank expression.' Then another but longer sigh. ‘And now with these red eyes, it's even worse. If I'd given it a slight try, I'd probably have made those two piss their pants.' So, shaking my head I turned back to the cave and entered the darkness beyond. * * *

(Flashback)

  • * * "Are you telling me that you don't even have a dollar to your names?!" I asked them in an obvious pissed off mood. The two of them nodded. "And how do the both of you expect to pay me for the win?" The two kids just shrugged to each other then did the same to me. I shook my head and replaced my glasses to fend off the suns rays. "We just thought that we'd be able to beat you and finally get some money." The boy said. "We've lost so many times that all the other people who've passed through this area have beaten us and taken all our money." The girls said next. ‘These guys must be some pretty pathetic trainers then.' I couldn't help but smirk as I thought of that, but then something else popped into my head. I turned around and recalled both Rena and Kit, then turned back to the campers. ‘This is almost like when I was playing the game. When someone or something knocks out all your Pokemon, you end up passing out or whiting out (whatever that means), then wake up back at the last Pokemon center you visited.' I scratched at my chin. ‘Maybe that's what I should do, or what I'm supposed to do right now.' I looked over my shoulder at the way I'd come and quickly shook my head. ‘Ya right. Like I'm going to knock them out, drag them all the way back up cycle road, then drop their sorry asses off a the Pokemon center up there. If I were to do that, I'd be retracing my steps. I just got out of that damn city. I don't want to go back.' "Well seeing as you don't have any money. I'll just help myself to anything else that the two of you have on you." "Wait a minute. That's not fair. You can't just help yourself to what we've got in our packs." The boy said as he grabbed his fanny pack. I looked over to the girl and she did the same. Taking another long sigh I dropped my head, removed my glasses so that I could pinch the bridge of my nose, tried to fend off the headache that was forming, then looked back up at the two. "What's not fair is what I'm about to do to the two of you." I slowly/menacingly walked over to the two. "Right now, I've the legal right to take some sort of prize from the two of you." I looked the girl slowly up and down. "And since the two of you don't have money. I guess I'll just take something else that's precious to you." I placed my hands on my hips and laughed as the girl quickly covered up her non-existent chests. (Authors note: This is one of the times when being tall, having blood red eyes, and the ability to scare the pants off of someone comes in handy.) It didn't take them long to quickly shell out all that they were carrying in the packs, to which I helped myself to what I think would probably sell at the amount that was owe for the win. Though I made sure to at least leave them a few potions so that they could get to a Pokemon center on their own. "Now I recommend that the two of you get to the nearest Pokemon center and get your Pokemon healed up." I slowly walked past them, only to stop and look over my shoulder at them. "Though if I ever hear that the two of you do something like this again, I'll personally come back here and take more than your belongings." I looked the girl up and down again, then made a slicing motion across my neck to the boy. (Authors note: It's ok to let your mind wonder on what I put in here, because your probably right.) * * *

(Flash forward)

  • * * "Well that ought to teach them a lesson, ‘Always anticipate for the worst and plan an escape rout'. I don't remember how many times that saying saved my butt." I looked around the cave and didn't see any light, indicating an exit. "Now where's that exit?" To which I began to walk around or should I say, look around. The first thing I saw was what was obviously a small strait pond, that ended at a cliff that seemed to be used for a start to a rock climbing wall. ‘Well isn't that odd. I'd need to swim all the way over there, just to get in some rock climbing practice.' Then something else popped into my mind. ‘And why would someone actually put something like that there in the first place?' I looked down at the water and could still see that there was dry flakes of the gift Kit had given me on my face. So I knelt down to the water and froze. ‘That's right. I haven't let Feebas out of it's ball in quite some time. I bet it's pretty mad at me for not doing that.' So I unclipped the ball and released it into the water. When Feebas materialized in the water, it didn't even look up at me as it splashed around in the water. ‘Well I'm glad that it isn't mad at me.' With that I knelt down to the water and began to scrub my face. ‘Something in the back of my mind is telling me that I should take a closer look a those hand holds, but for right now I need to get Rena and Kit's wounds looked at. And the only place to do so is in Hearthome city.' With my mind made up I finished washing my face, recalled Feebas, started looking around again for the exit to the cave, or at least hoping to find the exit in the cave, and plan on how to get there once I saw it. Eventually I found a set of stairs that had been carved into an incline of a small hill. There were many footprints in the loose dirt there, so I followed them. Only to be surprised by what I saw or should I saw who I saw there at the top of the hill. It was the professor that I'd seen on the television several days ago. ‘This is my chance. I can finally ask him more about that Pokemon that he was talking about.' So I quickly made my way up the stone steps and found him with his face down in the dirt, closely examining a rock with a magnifying glass. "I'll need to take a few of these samples back to my lab to prove my theory, but... It does seem that there are several of the same elements in this rock as the ones I've collected through my travels." He sat up on his knees and placed the rock that he'd been looking at in a pouch in his pants. "Now if I can only find proof that those two Pokemon do exist, I'll be able to put that little whipper snapper in his place." He said to himself as he stood up and clenched his fist. I cleared my throat. "Um, professor." The man looked over his shoulder at me. "Ah another trainer by the looks of you. Did you know that Mt. Cornet may be the origin point for the whole Sinnoh region?" He then started to scratch his head. "Wait a minute. What am I standing around for. I need to get back to my lab and get this sample analyzed." He looks back at me and smiles. "Sorry. I wish I could chat but I must really be going." He then stepped around me and was to the first step before I caught up and grabbed his shoulder. "Wait a minute professor. I need to know...‘Do you really believe that one of those legendary gods resides here in the Sinnoh region?' And if you believe that, where can I find it." A slow smile spreads across his face. "Ah a fellow believer. Well I'd love to stay and chat but I must really be going." He turned and took another step before he stopped and looked over his shoulder again at me. "Though I will leave you with this. ‘If there is such a god. He must reside somewhere on high. A place where mortals can't easily get to.'" He pointed towards the ceiling of the cave. "Such as the top of Mt. Cornet." And with that he quickly took off the same way I'd come. "Well that was certainly helpful. At least now I have a better idea as to where to look for it." I looked down the hill and over to where the hand holds were. ‘Normally when going up to face the final boss on the top level, they usually have strong guardians there protecting them. So I'd better get Feebas to evolve soon and come back here to see if those hand holds are the first step in ascending Mt. Cornet.' I smile to myself, ‘It's almost like the story of Mt. Olympus with Zeus being my intended person I need to talk to.' So making a final mental note about the area where I'd need to return to, I went down the next set of stone steps and out the exit to the cave. I threw both my hands into the air and stretched up on my tippy-toes. "Man it's great day to be alive." Then moved my arms as far behind me as I could. "And now all I have to do is..." I looked out in front of me and couldn't help but smile. The whole area around the outside of the cave was all hilly and wooden bridges, like the ones that you see people are to scared to cross, lined the area. ‘I guess I have no choice but to cross these bridges to get to my destination. Oh and what's this? I spy with my little eye two hikers. That means that I'll probably be going up against some rock types, Zubats, and a Machop or two.' I shook my head. "I don't really want to go up against those guys though. Plus, judging by the amount of sunlight left, it'll be nightfall be the time I finish battling them...Unless.' An evil smile crept across my lips as I turned around and walked back into the cave. "CAN'T STOP. EVERYBODY OUT OF MY WAY!!!" I yelled as I weaved around as I shot out of the cave like a bat shooting out of hell. The first platform I came to the guy was so terrified of my passing that he jumped off the hill and fell down to the water a few feet below. "NO BRAKES. WATCH OUT!!!" I shouted as I came to the next guy on the hill leading down to the ground below. He wasn't as lucky as he decided to jump off the hill entirely. The sound of several branches snapping was heard a little later as I rode down the stone steps to the ground below. I only had a small chance to look back and could see that several other trainers were shouting something at me form the hilltop. And as fate would have it, I didn't see the large yellow tree at the bottom of the slope. !WHAM! Nothin but starts as far as the eye could see. "No mommy. I don't want to visit aunt Jena's house again. My cheeks still sting from the last time she got a-hold of them." * * *

(Meanwhile in another world)

  • * * "CLEAR!" ZAP. A body jumps a foot above a bed with the sound of a single beep. "Damn it kid, hang in there. CLEAR!" ZZZAP. The body jumps again, and this time there is two beeps. "That's it kid. Come on back." The beeps fall silent again. "Doctor I told you. He's a big boy. He needs a lot more juice than what's normal to get his heart going. Sock it to him." A women yells from the door. The doctor looks back and see the boys mother being held back by two nurses. He slowly gives the mother a nod, then turns back to the boy. "This would hurt like hell if it were a normal person." He turns to the nurse standing by the defibulator. "Ok nurse. You heard the mother. Lets light this boys candle. CRANK IT UP!" The nurse gives the doctor a scared look but nods and turns up the amperage. "Full...power...doctor." She says in a shaky voice. "Alright everybody. Hold on to your britches! !CLEAR!" !BOOM! * * *

(Back to the other world)

  • * * "Youch. Anybody get the name of that tree that hit me?" I said as I slapped my forehead. "Wait a minute. Where'd this bandage come from? And for that matter, where am I?" I would have said but the only thing that anybody would have heard would be a bunch of moans and groans. I was in some sort of white cloud. Almost like I was in some sort of white out storm. You know, the kind of storm where it's snowing so much it looks like a blanket of white all around you. Then ever so slowly the cloud of snow slowly started to pull away from me and I was able to make out some details of where I was. At first the only thing I could see was a bed that I'd apparently been lying on. ‘No wonder I felt like I was lying on a cloud. This bed is heavenly.' Next came the fact that it was a hospital bed. One of those that has guard rails on either side to prevent someone from falling/rolling out of bed. Then finally the whole curtain that was pulled around the bed. There was the slow but steady beat of something to my upper left and when I looked up I saw a heart monitor as well as an IV drip. ‘Damn. Did I hit that tree that hard?' "How is he doctor? Is our master going to pull through?" I heard Rena ask someone. "I don't really know Miss...." "It is Rena, the person standing next to me is my sister Jenavee, and that bitch of a Ninetails that is hiding outside the room is called Kit." I almost winced as I could see the pissed off look of both Jenavee's and Rena's faces. No doubt Rena had told Jenavee what Kit had done to me when we faced off against those two trainers. Otherwise I doubt that she would be hiding from the two girls, as she had stood up to them in the past. "Well Miss Rena. I'm not to sure about the boys condition. You see, I've never come across someone's vitals that read quite the same as your trainers." "And what is that supposed to mean." Which was Jenavee's concerned voice. "That's just it. I don't know what it means." I heard the sound of shuffling paper. "His brain wave pattern show two distinct wave lengths." There was a long pause and I could just see the two girls looking at each other dumbfounded. "What I mean to say is that one pattern shows that of someone who's in a deep coma. The other is just of a person who's just been knocked out." Just then I heard the sound of something like a pencil going over paper. I looked to my right and saw that there was a brain wave scanner scratching away at some paper next to me. It almost looked like one of those seismometers (or in other words, one of those machines that measures the strength of an earthquake). "I do not care about brain waves. I...we want to know if our master is going to be ok or not." Then I heard someone gasp. "UNHAND ME Y...YOU FILTHY LUCARIO!" I heard the distinct stressed voice of the person who most likely was the doctor. ‘Oh would someone shut him up. There are people who're trying to sleep in here.' "Rena set him down. I think I just heard something." Came Jenavee's voice. ‘Rena set the poor man down. I'm fine.' "You are right Jenavee. It is week, but I definitely heard something. Do you think it is him." "I do not know. Let us check and see if it is him." I heard someone's cloths being ruffled then a gasp. "What the heck do you Pokemon think your doing. You can't go in there. Disturbing him might cause..." "Shut it doctor. There is no harm in looking to see if our master is ok." To which I couldn't help but smile. ‘I guess a little bit of me is rubbing off on you Rena. Come on in, I'm awake.' Just then both Rena's and Jenavee's head popped through the curtain and they looked at me. ‘Well it's about time the two of you showed up. I was wondering when you were going to stop fouling around with that doctor and actually look in here.' "Did you just..." "I most certainly did." Then in unison. "DONOVIN!" With that the two girl practically did a super girl right on top of me. Effectively forcing any remaining air that was within my lungs quickly out. Which pretty much sounded like a large belch, or a frog being stepped on. (Author: I can't help it. It's so wrong but it sounded so funny. Thanks again Bobby for that day. Where ever you are.)
