#1 of The Second Era

For all intents and purposes, THIS is the first story of the second age of Rinji's life. It takes place 80 years after the Anthro era, which of course is the first age of Rinji's life. I realize that the non-linear postings of these stories is probably confusing to a lot of you, but I can assure you, I'll be putting together a master journal detailing the chronological order of every story in the whole timeline. Hopefully, this helps bring some clarity to that confusion.

With all that being said, let me give a brief introduction to this story. Basically, most of Rinji's friends and loved ones are dead at this point and he is currently alone. Of course, Pachua is still around but currently MIA. Wanting to find a new challenge to face, Rinji responds to a tip that steers him in the direction of this giant forest, where he will meet a certain kitsune succubus that will have a profound impact on him, among several other "new" characters.

This is the story that kicks off the second age. Hope you enjoy it! :-)

Chapter I

Calmly walking through a remote forest hundreds of miles from civilization, an arctic anthro panther wandered amongst the skyscraper-sized trees. His name is Rinji Pantera, a ninja who possessed the legendary Sharingan eyes. He paced his way past the towering trunks which could produce enough lumber to build a timber metropolis to house millions. All seemed quiet in this gargantuan forest. What he was seeking seemed unlikely to be found in such an isolated location, but all of his sources could only pinpoint him here.

Rinji ran up the side of one of the tall trees until he reached the top. It was much lighter from up there than it was from the ground. He leapt a bit above the treeline and landed neatly on the treetop and looked around. It has been eighty years since he had awoke the Mangekyo Sharingan and shared all those adventures with his old friends. But the life of an immortal comes at the price of being one. For most of those friends and loved ones were now dead. What select few remained, disappeared. He was all alone now.

It was difficult facing each of those eventual deaths, but there was at least one close friend who was still alive. Rinji was amazed at her lifespan, that of the immensely buff and stupid strong Pachua. He certainly enjoyed the few close times they shared together. They hadn't been in contact in a while now, but he was sure that she was out there showing off her physique to those who admired it.

Since eighty years ago, Rinji had matured a lot over the decades. With lots of practice he's learned to greatly control his ocular dojutsu, the Sharingan, and make great use of the enhanced version, the Mangekyo, to the point where he can sustain it for longer periods before eyesight deterioration begins to set in, which lasts from several days to a few weeks depending on how much he uses it. The scripture he read warned him about the cumulative effects of using the Mangekyo Sharingan and that one day, his Sharingan would be permanently sealed. Only the Sharingan of one other in existence would permanently restore his eyesight and make the powers of the Mangekyo permanent. However, he has been unable to find the body of the one who possessed those eyes after all this time.

Not only has his personality changed, but his appearance as well. Despite not aging past twenty-five years, he has nevertheless changed. He had swapped out his casual buttoned collar shirt and jean shorts for a more traditional ninja robe that was flexible enough for use in battle. His chest and arms were covered in bandage wraps and his hair was a little bit longer. The bell he wore for training his stealth skills hasn't made a sound yet. It got to the point where he could make almost any movements and do so without making the bell ring. And while his physical body hadn't aged, his eyes showed all eighty of those years tacked on. His once innocent look had been replaced by one that showed the signs of all those battles he fought in and all the dangers he's faced. He took the crystal he always wore around his neck between a couple fingers and fiddled with it a little while looking around at the scenery.

Now more seasoned and wiser, Rinji Pantera did the only thing in his life that continued to give him purpose: He sought to expand his knowledge and train to become stronger. He, of course, made sure to allow himself room for some of the finer pleasures; chief among them being the muscled ladies. He took in a deep satisfied breath as he scanned the horizon around him. The sun shone brightly in the sky as he looked all around him, but saw nothing from up there. If there was anything to be found, it would be on the ground amongst the trees.

Rinji has been on the trail of a legendary martial arts master for the past one hundred years of his immortal existence, and he has heard many rich tales of the legend known only as "Shade". His renown and fame were known throughout the world in unexpected places, anything from politics and warfare to economics and literature. He seemed to be the silent watcher from the shadows, knowing every move before it is made and no one quite seems to know how he does it. But this is what Rinji seeks to learn in order to further his skills and power. The last Rinji had heard about Shade was that he is the most proficient assassin in the world, able to strike from any angle no matter what the security or defenses.

As the white shinobi panther continued on in the forest, now back on the ground, he could hear something in the distance. Up ahead, at the base of a large tree, a child seemed to be playing by it. Upon closer inspection, the child seemed to be an orange kitsune, his hair spiked to look like flames and his clothing which consisted of a black vest painted with flame patterns and black pants with the same design. He seemed to not notice Rinji walking up behind him as his three large, fluffy tails wagged. But as Rinji neared him, he intentionally stepped on a fallen twig, snapping it. The kitsune's ears perked up, immediately causing him to swing around and look at Rinji with quite possibly the cutest set of eyes he's ever seen. Both fire-red eyes looked at him widely, scanning him over quickly without blinking, yet they seemed to radiate an innocent glow. However, his expression seemed blank as if the lights were on but no one was home. For nearly a full minute, the child kitsune just blankly watched Rinji, seemingly waiting for him to move or something.

"Well, hello there." Rinji finally spoke, breaking the long silence between the two, "Are you lost, young one?"

The white panther knelt down to the kitsune boy's level to show a sign of friendliness as he smiled.

There was a long pause in the fox child. Suddenly, his unflickering eyes blinked and his expression changed from that of awe and confusion to a happy and childish smile.

"HI KITTY!" He said loudly, waving to Rinji despite the fact that he was less than 3-feet away from him.

He seemed to continue to flail his arm aimlessly waving to Rinji before suddenly hearing a slight jingling sound. His expression snapped to his awe and confused face, quickly noticing the small bell the white panther had tied around his tail. The boy gasped, as his expression exploded with glee and happiness, jumping up and down eagerly as if jolted by a sudden sugar rush.

"JINGLE! JINGLE! BELL! BELL!" He yelled out joyfully, "Kitty bell! Kitty bell! Yaaaay!"

Rinji swung his tail around in front of him so that it was within arms reach of the young kitsune.

"Oh yes, that is my tail bell and I suppose I can be a 'kitty'." Rinji replied with a small chuckle, "Do you like it? I can let you play with it if you tell me where your parents are. They must be worried sick that you're lost so far out here."

Rinji untied his tail bell and dangled it in front of the kitsune boy's face as he hopped cheerfully around the panther in a circle. The fox child stopped after a moment, resuming his confused expression instantaneously. He brought a finger up to his mouth and seemed to almost go into a moment of deep thinking.

"Me likey. What parents? Parents? Parents? Parents?" He kept repeating the word, utterly dumbfounded by it.

"Your parents are your mommy and daddy. I'm sure you know who they are." Rinji explained, seemingly taken back by the fox boy's simple nature, "What's your name? I'll help you back to your mommy and daddy."

Rinji handed his bell over to the kitsune. As he saw the shiny reflection off the golden bell, the fox boy's face lit up again and quickly took the bell, jingling it wildly just to hear the sound it made.

"Bell! Bell! Yaaaaay!" He hyperactively jumped around before suddenly stopping and looking back at Rinji with that same expression as before, "Name? Name? What name? Me Pyro. Pyro me! Me likey Pyro! Pyro likey me! Yaaaaay!"

He once again returned to his radiant expression of cheerfulness, "What daddy? Mommy...me likey mommy. Mommy nice. Mommy likey me. Mommy home. Home there!"

The kitsune child pointed off in another direction, toward seemingly endless lines of trees.

"Poor fella, I'll take you to your mommy then." Rinji patted the boy lightly on the head, presuming that he no longer had a father.

"So you're...Pyro? That sounds like a fitting name with the clothes you have on." Rinji said.

The panther looked him over again, this time taking further notice of his military-style combat boots and skull-shaped belt buckle. He figured this odd for a child to be wearing those. But it seemed strange to find anyone out in such an isolated area, nevermind a legendary martial arts master and a child.

"Go home! Kitty see mommy!" Pyro tucked Rinji's bell into his pocket and quickly dashed around the tree, coming back with a sort of small backpack on, "Go home. No want boom. Kitty no want boom. Boom bad."

The backpack suddenly extended what looked like a pair of wings and jets attached to it, "Mommy home. Kitty play with Pyro. Me take kitty home."

Before Rinji could react, the kitsune seemingly blasted off with some sort of jetpack, leaving a huge smoke trail in his wake as he zoomed off.

"H-h-hey! Wh-what boom?!" Rinji shouted to Pyro, but the kitsune was far out of hearing range.

"Was that a jetpack?!" he asked himself.

The white panther coughed as his fur was nearly blackened by the massive smoke cloud from the blastoff. Rinji could suddenly hear a loud beeping sound nearby. As the trail cleared slightly, he was able to see glowing red dots all over the tree beside him. Suddenly, a massive explosion went off as the tree tumbled down, creating a domino effect on some other trees nearby as the thunderous crashes of the skyscraper-sized lumber fell. Rinji managed to escape the humongous explosion and falling timber with his quick reflexes though. He patted off the heavy smoke that coated his fur and took a second to realize what he just saw: a child with high-grade explosives that was stronger than C4 and a jetpack that he didn't exactly see every day. Perhaps if he followed the smoke trail left behind by the rocketing kitsune's jetpack, he could find some more answers.

Rinji crouched down, then used his strong legs to propel him skyward into the trees. Rinji then wall-jumped off various trees as he chased after the vanishing smoke trail, moving at high velocities. Though he could easily move a great deal faster, he wanted to preserve his strength and figured as long as he could see the smoke trail, he would find him. Rinji zoomed past everything in the forest, dodging large boulders and trees gracefully and with ease. Finally, he saw a large mansion come into view. But it was humongous, even for a mansion. As he got closer, he could see it reaching up almost as high as the treetops themselves. He saw it was actually just a 5-floor building, but each floor was very tall. He could see the door up ahead, a door made for a giant from the looks of it, and the doorway he estimated to be almost twenty feet. At the base of the tremendous door seemed to be another smaller door for normal-sized people, which at last he saw Pyro and another fox standing there. Rinji descended from the trees and landed right in front of them. He saw before him an elaborate mansion, the price of which could've been in the hundreds of millions! The luxurious design was made for someone who wanted a special getaway in the middle of nowhere.

This other fox spoke up with a feminine voice, no doubt Pyro's mother, "Is this the nice man you met, Pyro?"

"Yes! Looky! Bell! Bell!" Pyro pulled out the bell he received from Rinji and showed the female fox he stood beside, "Mommy like? It shiny!"

He happily jingled it around for the vixen to see.

"Oh yes, it's very nice, sweetie" The vixen smirked, obviously fixing her attention on Rinji before her and Pyro, "I never thought that such a stud like you would be out in these woods."

She giggled, walking over to Rinji. The white panther got a good look at the voluptuous kitsune and his eyes went wide in spite of himself. She sported 3 tails like Pyro but that was all that was similar. She had the body of a curvy and busty goddess!

She licked her lips seductively, reaching out to feel Rinji's exposed chest from his open shirt, "You really must workout. I like a buff guy, someone with big strong muscles."

She leaned close to him, giving Rinji a close-up view of her generous cleavage, which seemed to practically spill out of her tiny little top, which looked to be like a scrap piece of cloth tied around her breasts. The vixen shifted her legs, swaying her hips, bending more to show a little more of her perfect rear, which was only covered with a tiny pair of short shorts with a visible red g-string just under that. She had knee-high high-heeled boots, which she loved using to add a little more sensuality to her sexy stride.

"You must be...Pyro's mother?" Rinji said, suddenly feeling a drop of sweat crawl down his forehead.

For some reason, he felt like he must have this woman. This unbelievable vixen leaned against him, her enormous breasts squishing up against his own chest. She took immediate interest in the white panther without even exchanging names yet. Rinji felt himself fall in an almost intoxicated state. There was something thick in the air, the smell of cherry blossoms and the aroma was so alluring.

"Not exactly, but I raise little Pyro as if he were my own. Isn't that right, sweetie?" She giggled, reaching down to tickle Pyro under the chin, making him laugh happily.

"P-pleased to meet you...I'm Rinji." The white panther introduced himself, but he felt like he was already battling his sex drive and sudden overwhelming lust for this vixen.

The temperature felt like it had risen ten degrees, his body felt hot and wanting to satisfy his primal lustful urges. He tried to fight it off but it was easy to see he was starting to get a hard-on.

"You can call me Keezah, hon." Keezah replied, introducing herself, "I think you may have heard of me. It just depends on how often you enjoy porno movies or visit the strip club where I work at."

She giggled, reaching down to grope his rising bulge, "Tell me, handsome, what brings you around here? I'm sure it's not all this way to see me, is it?"

She teased him, tracing her finger along the shape of his cock from the tip to base.

"Can't you sense it, babe?" A deep, heavy voice came from behind Rinji.

This whole time he was so entranced, he didn't feel the pressure in the air suddenly increase. His breath almost fell short as he saw the shadow that loomed over the side of the mansion, nearly overshadowing two floors of it.

"This guy's powerful, and I know a powerful guy when I sense one." came the voice of a massive blue beast with a thunderous stomp from behind, as he looked down at Rinji.

"I can tell there's more to this guy than meets the eye if he can find where we live; that and he moves a lot like Shade." Keezah said, as she had watched Rinji leap effortlessly off the trees through the air, merely using a fraction of his speed.

"His power feels a lot like his too. I can practically taste it in the air." the hulking beast said as he flexed his immense pecs on a whim, pumping them out to almost twice their size, "Tell me, who are you here to see? Shade or me?"

He brought up one of his immense arms, flexing a behemoth bicep that was more than twice Rinji's entire body size.

"Here, hon, let's ease down a little so you can breathe. You look like you're suffocating." Keezah giggled, making the heavy aroma in the air dissipate as Rinji regained control over his sex drive.

"And here I was having fun flexing my power." the muscled monster chuckled, relaxing his muscles and making the heavy pressure in the air fade.

"That's better." Rinji said as he took in a deep breath and let it out, his toned chest muscles rising some, showing off a little of his own pecs.

"Well to be honest, I followed the smoke trail here from Pyro's jetpack." Rinji corrected.

Keezah giggled, "All the same, this entire forest is still quite secluded."

"So you know where this Shade character is?" The white panther asked, looking up at the muscular giant with interest.

"Figures, I was hoping to see what you got, stranger." the buff beast cracked his knuckles, his fists bigger than Rinji's whole body as well, "Just in case you ever change your mind about that death wish, you can just call me Vasil, but some call me Big V."

Vasil grinned, sticking out his lengthy tongue to lick the top of his pecs.

"You're just overflowing with power, huh?" Rinji observed as he gazed over the colossal specimen's body.

He stood naked with nothing to hide, especially the sheer massive size of his manhood which in its soft state was larger than Rinji's body many times over. The only thing that probably wasn't larger than Rinji's entire body was Vasil's head, which seemed to actually be a normal size.

"Come to think of it, I think I have seen you before, Vasil. Yeah, you're the guy who cracked a whole continent in two!" Rinji exclaimed, suddenly recalling a few years back how the whole planet shook from what was presumed to be tectonic plates shifting, but was actually caused by Vasil punching a whole continent in half.

"Yep, that was me." Vasil seemed to modestly shrug, taking a moment to crack his neck, or what was visible of it, "I wasn't even at full power - that was maybe a small percentage of my real strength."

The titan echidna leaned forward, crunching his rippling, bulging abs, pumping out those monster truck tire-sized muscles.

"You're an echidna, right? I don't think I've ever seen any of them as big as you." Rinji said as he evaluated the sheer size and proportions of Vasil, mentally comparing him to a normal echidna.

"I'm not actually full-blooded. I'm a hybrid unlike my full-blooded lover here." Vasil motioned over at Keezah, who was busy adjusting her tight little top on the verge of popping off from her expanding bosom.

"My tits are feeling full again, hon. You promised me you'd milk me tonight." Keezah said.

To make a point, she gave a little squeeze to her humongous breasts and a large spot of milk stained onto her top. Rinji couldn't help but feel aroused again by the sight.

"What is it? Oh, yeah, right, hybrid thing. We're part of a species from a planet in a different dimension from this one. A few of us, like myself, came here thousands of years ago and bred with some of the natives. Fast-forward a while and here we are." the vixen said, smirking once again, teasing with her milky breasts.

Rinji blushed a little, seeing the flowing milk soak her top; he still had a bit of a sexual urge that needed great satisfaction.

"That's interesting." he said, still staring at Keezah's milky juggs with hypnotic enthrallment.

Oh, how he wanted to be like a happy kitty with a saucer of milk at that moment. He was beginning to feel like an ordinary housecat next to her just thinking that.

"You know, if you're here for Shade, you might not walk out alive, right?" Vasil said, his voice suddenly broke Rinji's trance with the comment returning to the potential death wish to see Shade.

"H-huh? What about not being alive?" Rinji quickly snapped his attention to the hulking echidna.

"If you're going to fight Shade, you should know he doesn't fight those who doesn't match his standards. He just kills them." Keezah added, crossing her arms under her heavy milk-laden breasts.

"He must be quite the interesting teacher then." Rinji chuckled, liking how Shade's reputation is exactly what he surmised.

"Good luck then, hon, you're gonna need it." Keezah said as she suddenly leaned in and gave Rinji a good luck kiss on the cheek.

"If you don't survive, I just wanna let you know that you're cute and sexy...and your cock is really nice." she giggled, signaling to Pyro to come over from playing in his sandbox.

The kitsune fox boy just finished a little sand castle before wobbling to his feet and walking over to them.

"Little Pyro here will lead you to Shade, the rest just depends on if you're strong enough to live." Keezah said as she winked at Rinji before heading into the gigantic mansion through the smaller door.

"Yeah, if you can beat Shade, then I wanna fight you myself. Shade's never lost before, at least from what I know. Trust me, I've fought him at least several times and I never came close to beating him." Vasil contributed, giving Rinji a confident tap on the back with his massive finger, sort of like a pre-game confidence pat.

"You play with Shady?" Pyro asked curiously with his same curious expression, "Shady fun! Shady give me candy! Shady best friend!"

Pyro cheerfully jumped up and down again. "We go now! You play with Shady!"

The fox boy began to run around the mansion, looking back to urge the white panther forward.

"Play! Play! Play! Kitty play!" he called back to Rinji before vanishing around the corner of the mansion.

Rinji paused for a moment at what he heard from Keezah and Vasil, thinking the sheer power those two had then imagined what he could expect from Shade. He started walking to the corner of the mansion and turned past that corner to see a massive garden filled with hundreds, possibly thousands of different species of plants, flowers, and various other floras. It was like walking through the mythical hanging gardens for the white panther. Some types of flora he saw were seemingly of an alien, perhaps ancient origin. There were even supposedly extinct plants still thriving perfectly in this garden paradise. He eventually heard water as he passed through the football field-length garden. It sounded like splashing as if someone was swimming. Beyond the garden was a tremendous Olympic-sized swimming pool with just one person swimming in it. Though, the person he saw in it was a purple female with very noticeable red streaks in her hair. She sped about through the pool faster than any fish Rinji had ever seen, she swam faster than any medal-winning Olympic swimmer he's ever seen. As she came to a stop at the edge of the pool, she pulled herself out, revealing a curvy, voluptuous body reminiscent of Keezah's yet her species was that of an echidna also.

Rinji quickly put two and two together, remembering Vasil calling Keezah her lover, and suddenly realized what the female aquatic goddess before him was: Vasil and Keezah's daughter. The purple beauty emerged from the pool, drying herself off with a towel as the water dripped off her wet fur and her eye-catching curves. She walked towards Rinji upon noticing him, wearing only a slingshot bikini with such tiny straps that barely covered her sexy frame. Her breasts looked like they were about to slide out from under those straps any second. After flinging her hair back, she took a good look over the white panther and over to a path leading into the forest.

"I guess Pyro's leading you somewhere, huh? I'm guessing since you're here, you got past my parents. I'm Nikita. You can call me that or Nikki." Nikita introduced herself, pointing over to the path leading into the forest, "Pyro ran off that way, the kid still probably thinks you're behind him. It leads to Shade's training area, so be careful there, you don't want to interrupt his reading - he really hates that. I'd like to talk more and you're really cute looking and all, but I need to head back to training myself. Maybe if you're not dead after seeing Shade, we can sit down and chat a little."

She winked at Rinji before diving back into the pool and repeating her high speed laps around the pool.

Rinji didn't really have enough time to say anything, and he didn't want to lose track of Pyro either. So he silently took off with great speed and caught up with Pyro within seconds. The little kitsune ran with a childish hop-skip method, eventually leading Rinji to a large lake with a waterfall coming off the nearby mountain. This area was more than full of surprises because he could not have ever imagined such a grand waterfall with a pure, crystal-clear water lake in this area. At the top of the waterfall, on a rock's edge was a black figure sitting in a relaxed laid-back position.

"Shady! Shady! Shady! Kitty want play!" Pyro yelled to Shade, not even thinking if he can hear him over the roar of the crashing waters.

The black figure was reading a book, of which title it was, it was too far to see. But he quickly closed it and set it down on the rock to see what brought Pyro to the training area. As the book was lowered, Rinji could feel a piercing gaze almost looking into his soul. The ominous feeling it caused him was palpable. He knew immediately that it was Shade and it was as if he was staring into the face of Death itself. Before Rinji could even blink, Shade appeared right in front of them. Did he just teleport? His appearance came as a surprise to the white panther, he was a short black hedgehog but he appeared far different than any regular hedgehog. Shade was probably a foot or so taller than Pyro but he barely reached the top of Rinji's chest.

His hair was like a sort of crest-shaped bangs hanging off his forehead with a medium-length going down the back of his head. His clothing was quite similar to what Pyro was wearing. He had a pure black vest on, black pants, and military-style combat boots; even the skull-shaped belt buckle was there too. On his back was a high-powered sniper rifle taller than he was and on his belt was a pair of holsters containing single-action revolvers. What was very noticeable were the bandages that covered his entire right arm up to the shoulder, and strange S-shaped white fur on his chest with an odd line going straight through the center with a small white spot a bit after the end of that line. Finally, the thing that sent a mortal chill down Rinji's spine was his stare, those emotionless eyes with this neutral unchanging expression that looked like he just immediately read Rinji over like a book.

"Another one comes to challenge me?" Shade spoke, though there was no emotion or feeling behind his voice, "I haven't seen a direct challenger in centuries."

Both of his arms were crossed and unmoving.

Rinji shrugged off the feeling he was getting from Shade's soul-flaying stare. He wasn't afraid and he was more than ready to face this man. His eyes shifted from blue to red as three tomoe appeared around his slitted pupil, an indication of his Sharingan activating. He knew that his kekkei genkai would be put to the ultimate test.

"So, at last I meet the only Sharingan user in existence. Your eyes are quite reputable." Shade said.

His previously curious demeanor became one of cold calm that rivaled Shade's, "I am Rinji Pantera, and you must be Shade. I have come to seek your knowledge and face you in combat. Do not take me lightly."

Rinji immediately took up a fighting stance and prepared for anything.

"Pathetic." Shade simply uttered as the sound of a gunshot went off.
