#6 of Cats and Wolves

I liked this piece, I dunno why... It was fun to write. I guess I enjoy ruining my character's life. :P...

Anyways, my typical start here: Gimmie a rating, a critique, something please to let me know how I'm doing.

Oh my god. I'm not a feline anymore! Jesus fucking Christ, she even proved it to me. Oh god, I'm a werewolf. She, she bit me, and I'm a werewolf. I'm a god damn freak of nature is what I am! God, what she said. The things I could do. The things I will do. That night. I need to do that. That night. I need to mark it on the calendar. I won't do anything. I'll stay inside away from everyone that day. I'll just lock myself in my room, tell dad not to come in. I'll be fine. I'll just, be in my room, as a wolf, for that one night per month. I need to just stop. Stop thinking about it. It's still a ways away. I need sleep. I need to act normal. What would dad say? God, it's worse than being a fag. He'd probably shoot me! I can't tell him! I can't tell anyone! I just need to keep quiet about it. That's all I can do. I need to keep quiet and get some sleep. It's already midnight. Oh... That means it's the 17th. Shit! One day closer!

WHY ME?! WHY?! I DON'T WANT TO BE A WEREWOLF!!! I WANT TO BE NORMAL! I WANT TO LIVE A NORMAL LIFE! NOTHING SPECIAL! LIKE BEFORE I WAS BITTEN! HELP ME GOD!

Alex was certainly not taking his newfound identity well. He spent most of his time inside, other than going to work on the seventeenth. It didn't help that most of the employees were now avoiding him now that they thought he was gay. He heard every single conversation, whispered between his former friends. Nothing kind at all about him, or Brandon either. In a desperate attempt to at least keep one or two friends, he tried to approach Arron and the other Alex who worked there. "H-Hey guys." He said quietly, waving to them.

Arron looked up from his book that was hidden behind his register. He always had his nose in a book. "Hey." He said in his usual monotone voice, then looked right back down to his book. It wasn't too uncommon for Arron, but he usually did at least ask what was up or something to that nature. Alex on the other hand looked up at him briefly, nodded, then walked away. That was completely out of the ordinary for him. Usually he was the talkative one. Alex leaned on the counter beside Arron, looking up at him for a moment.

"Come on. What? So I have a boyfriend? What's so wrong about that? Not like I'm any different to you guys." He tried to reason with Arron. He was sure others heard though.

Arron paused in his reading and looked to Alex, opening his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Joseph, a not-so-kind asshole who had apparently just gotten there, considering he was just barely in uniform. "Hey fagboy. Heard you were kissin' with some other faggot." He said, and Arron shut his mouth and looked back to his book. Joe snickered a little bit, and unfortunately so did a few other people.

Alex stood up straight, turning to face Joe. He felt a growl starting, and quieted it down. "Shut the fuck up Joe. I'm no different from before that."

"Yes you are, you're a faggot now. A little gay fag boy who wants to suck cock and put dildos up his ass." Joe taunted, filling his cup at one of the pop fountains in the meantime.

Alex couldn't help it this time, the growl was quite loud, enough for a couple kids to look up at him. He felt his fingers curl, his claws coming out just barely. "I said shut the fuck up! So what if I have a boyfriend?" He said, glaring at Joe.

Joe smirked, shaking his head, "Growling? What are you? An inu? Do you play puppy for your boyfriend and do it doggy style? I always knew you were a freak." He said calmly, putting a lid on his

Alex growled again, the corner of his mouth twitching from anger. "Joe. I told you to shut up. Stop with the asshole comments and leave me the fuck alone." He said in a low, somewhat threatening tone.

Joe though didn't take him seriously and walked up to Alex, shoving him out of the way. "Eh go suck cock faggo-" He was cut off as Alex tackled him to the ground, his sharp claws scratching away at Joe's face, occasionally the hands curling into a fist and pummeling the boy. Joe had no time to react, and the fight was over as soon as it had started. Alex was pulled off of Joe by a strong pair of hands on his shoulders. He nearly bit one hand but it moved just in time, and the person pulled Alex into the back room. Though Alex got one last blow in at Joe, right in the family jewels. His last glance at Joe was a bleeding face with one hand over it and another over his crotch, curled up in pain.

In the back room Alex's manager shouted at him almost the whole time, telling him the standard procedures to go by and what he'd done wrong. If another employee is bothering you, you sort it out without fighting or you have a manager help resolve it. Blah blah blah. Alex stopped paying attention after the first few words, though he did recognize a particular couple of the last few that were said, "go home." He sighed angrily and took out his phone, dialing home and telling his father to come pick him up. He merely stated that he'd gotten off early when asked why, and his dad said he'd be there in a few minutes.

I think I might've gotten fired yesterday. I beat the shit out of Joe, and damn it felt good. Asshole has bugged me for way too long. He got what he deserved for all that time bothering me. I told him to stop, but he dragged it on, so I mauled his face and kicked him in his balls. Totally worth being fired for.

I just need to keep an eye on the calendar. I'll be fine. I should be. I hope so.

Alex's week didn't get better. Today Alex's father took a phone call from Brandon, who was wanting to know if Alex could go out tonight. When Alex returned from his run, later than usual because he felt like running extra laps, his father had a few choice words to say to him. "You're GAY?!" He practically shouted when Alex walked in the door.

"What are you talking about?" Alex immediately tried to cover.

"Your fucking boyfriend just called! That's what I'm talking about! So what? You're some gay boy now?"

Knowing the cat was out of the bag now, Alex didn't answer at first. He started heading for his room, shoving past his father. "I didn't want you to know." He said. "I knew you'd think I was a freak." He said, slamming his bedroom door and making sure it was locked. He heard the door rattle a few times, then nothing. Alex fumed silently in his room for a few minutes before he took out his cellphone and dialed Brandon.

"Hello?"

"Brandon! How did you get my home phone?" He asked.

"Phone book. You weren't answering your cell and I wanted to ask you if you'd want to go out tonight. Though I guess you might be a little mad at me, huh? I'm a bit disappointed you haven't told your own father even." Brandon answered.

Alex scowled, "Not the time, but yes I do still want to go out tonight. I need to get away from home. Just meet me at the coffee shop around eight, is that okay?" He asked.

"How about nine?"

"That's fine. Bye, I need to go." Alex said, disconnecting the phone before Brandon could say goodbye.

Later that night, after evading his father and sneaking out of the house. Alex waited by the coffee shop for his boyfriend to show up. He had his hands shoved in his pockets and was watching the clock tower not far away, counting the minutes until Brandon would show up. He would‘ve been inside, but the shop was closed today for some reason. It was during normal hours, but nobody was there and the lights were out. Thirteen minutes left. Twelve, eleven, ten, nine, eight-... A drop of water landed on his head, distracting Alex. Another few drops of water all around him, and then suddenly the sky opened up and let loose a torrent of rain. The poor feline was soaked before he made it to the nearest overhang, and the downpour continued until 9:10, at which point it lightened to a light sprinkle. Alex was not pleased. His boyfriend was still not there, now ten minutes late. He was also soaked, and he did not like the feeling of wet clothes on wet fur. 9:20 came, still no Brandon. 9:30, Alex was now sitting under the overhang. 9:45, Alex was beginning to wonder if Brandon had stood him up. 9:47, Brandon was running towards Alex, who stood up. "You're late." Was all Alex said when the white feline stopped before him.

He didn't speak for a moment, panting lightly and catching his breath. "Sorry, there was a last minute announcement, and then I got stuck there with a mess to clean up. Assholes wouldn't let me go even when I told them I had a date waiting." He explained.

Alex sighed angrily, looking down. "You could've called." He said.

"I know, I'm sorry, I didn't think it would take me that long to get out of there. Thank you so much for waiting for me though sweetie." He said, and stepped forward, hugging Alex to himself tightly.

Alex, after a moment, hugged back, and then started shaking lightly in Brandon's arms.

"What's wrong?" Brandon asked.

"Everything." Alex said through a sob, and was suddenly crying in Brandon's arms, still holding on to him tightly.

"There there... It'll be okay." Brandon said quietly, patting Alex's back and putting his chin on Alex's head.
