#3 of Convergence

Sarah looked at the contract on the table. It was not a bad offer, not really, but what was involved was insane. Some would call it monstrous. Still, others would call it revolutionary.

"Is this even legal?" she asked, the bovine wildkin nervous.

The man sitting across from her smiled, his eyes never blinking. "No. It isn't. but I have the money and resources to ensure you are never caught, and even if you were, that you would be safe and well off after."

"But who would volunteer for such a thing? I mean, why would you give up what you are?"

The man took a deep breath. "They won't volunteer. And after two generations they will be self-sustaining and won't care. I can get you the initial subjects though."

Sarah thought hard about it. The offer, it was so much money, and would save her farm and make her famous in the agriculture community. "What do you really get out of it?"

A smile crept along the man's face, his human features seemed too young for those eyes. "You are perceptive. Good. To begin with we get thirty percent of profits from this venture. But in truth, it is a chance for us to perform testing of our treatments. If this works we will have the basis for a revolution in bio-engineering."

Sarah took a deep breath. She liked the idea and she knew the real reason they had chosen her as a potential partner. Still the offer was good.

"One other thing, if you decline this offer we will still provide you the ten-thousand credits for your time. However, we will never offer you this opportunity again."

Sarah looked at him. He was an enigma, that was certain enough. But she knew, though not sure how she knew, that his offer was not a trick. And she knew there would be further uses for any successful test subject. Picking up the pen, Sarah looked directly into the eyes of the businessman. "We have an agreement, Mr Delacroix."

Ding!

"Order for sixty-two! Look alive ladies!"

Elizabeth rolled her eyes at the chef's imperious manner. Grabbing the food from the bench she quickly walked over to the waiting table, wincing as she saw who she was serving.

"Why hello officer, I have your food right here!"

"Now wait a minute missy, you and I have some talking to do." The large canine spiritkin had a face that meant no nonsense.

"Can it wait 'til after my shift?"

The spiritkin shook his head sadly. "Elizabeth Darcy, where did your parents go wrong?"

"I was running late for work, I need the money for rent!"

"That may be the case. However, you almost ran over three people on the way here on that bike of yours. Give me one good reason I shouldn't have it towed."

Elizabeth cringed. Without her motorbike she couldn't get to work. And without an income she would not be able to pay for rent or keep saving for the new hoverbike that was so much cheaper to run. "Would promising not to do it again do me any good?"

The officer, a large imposing man, sighed. "Last warning. You still have a fine of three hundred credits. Next time I turn that piece junk into a cube."

Three hundred credits! That was over half her weekly pay! Gritting her teeth, Elizabeth forced a smile on her face. "Thanks Daryl."

Handing her the ticket and finally taking his first sip of coffee, the officer half-smiled. "I mean it, Liz. Last warning. And why the hell are you working here? With your training and experience you could be making more money than your father."

"Because nobody is hiring lawyers right now, that's why." Elizabeth responded and promptly turned to continue serving customers. Who was he to tell her how to live her life? Sure, this was not how she had planned her life, but jobs were scarce at the moment. Ever since the Republic had joined the Treaty of Unity things had changed for the worse, at least in her opinion.

She had been only eleven years old when the Council of Juroch had declared the Age of Unity had begun. She had not realised why her parents, both hard-working humans, had not been celebrating as much as everyone else had been. After all, humans and spiritkin were both treated fairly here, even some of her classmates and friends at the time, were spiritkin. Hell, her aunt had married a rather large spiritkin stallion.

It would be a few years later, when she was studying at university, that she had begun to realise how badly that treaty had been for the job market of the Australasian Republic. Even the major capitals like Sydney and Tokyo suffered. With the influx of refugees, immigrants and shift in industry, the Republic had little use for lawyers. What they needed were farmers, scientists, engineers and technomancers, the last being those who combined both magic and science to create new inventions, such as teleportation gates that had revolutionised transport on a global scale.

Now, at the age of twenty-one, Elizabeth was a waitress at a local cafe. A fully trained lawyer, and here she was, serving coffee to police officers who were fining her. Daryl was not to blame, she knew, as he was a great officer and had gotten her dad, the chief of police, out a few spots of trouble over the years. Loyal as a dog could be, she thought, hating herself for the snideness in her thoughts.

As the day progressed Elizabeth tried not to think about the fine, or how she was going to pay it. Well, she could pay it, but she would do a nice bit of damage to her little nest egg she was slowly putting away. Her thoughts drifted through most of the day, as she thought about the current state of the world and her lot in life.

Ten years ago the Treaty of Unity had been signed, semi-enforced by the Council of Juroch with ambassadors of each nation present. Despite the current job market, the treaty had been a good thing for the world, which had been through almost six hundred years of constant warfare until the Order of Unity forced the treaty. She knew the history, millions killed, enslaved or used in magical experiments. But the truth was it was just that, history. But not a decent war had been fought between nations for over a thousand years. Sure, there was crime, there was always crime. Thus police and military still existed. And everyone knew the baronies of Flemria were always squabbling over something, but that hardly constituted war. So peace reigned, and the violent past was forgotten by the masses. Even the world before Convergence had mostly been forgotten. Most people had even forgotten what had caused it.

For Elizabeth, the treaty simply meant that while those in power grew wealthy, those people needing employment were struggling. She knew a great many people with degrees who were serving as waitresses, burger flippers and cleaners. Unless you had gone into farming or technomancy, your employment required a great deal of luck these days. So here she was, serving ungrateful customers while life went merrily on.

And as she worked, serving customers, she did not notice the silver-haired man talking to the manager.

"Anyone home?" called Elizabeth as entered the door.

"Yeah," came the shout of her housemate, Karen.

Elizabeth smiled, and walked into the lounge room, where Karen was watching the news on television. "Anything interesting?"

"Not really, mainly they are celebrating the ten-year anniversary of the Treaty being signed. And something about Delacroix Industries branching out into technomancy and bioengineering."

Elizabeth shrugged. Who really cares what some big company did? Sure, she knew of Delacroix Industries, it was the world's biggest shipping company and manufacturer of building materials. "So how was your day?"

Karen sighed, her soft blonde curls framing her face. "Boring. I hate working in retail. All I ever get is abusive customers who either expect the world from me or just want to complain. Human, spiritkin; doesn't matter, they're all jerks. You?"

"Got a speeding fine," Elizabeth groaned. "Fuck I hate this city. And waitressing is a bitch."

"Well, you know of anywhere hiring?"

"Not that we can work at. Well, not that we can work at and not end up disowned."

Elizabeth jumped on the lounge and watched the news with her friend. She'd met Karen back in university and the two had struck up a friendship. Karen was an Arts major, mainly in dance, but no one was hiring non-exotic dancers these days. She felt sorry for the poor girl, who had just gone through a tough break up, her boyfriend had been cheating on her for a few months.

Elizabeth had not been in a relationship in years, her last partner had been a herm spiritkin, a feline who had been seeking a more casual thing. Things had not ended horribly, but they had ended. Since then she had remained single, though the odd night out had seen her get laid when she needed it. Both humans and spiritkin alike always had the jungle fever for an ebony girl like her. Still, she did envy Karen's blonde curls and piercing blue eyes.

"So, you wanna order pizza?" asked Elizabeth.

"Sure, I'll grab the menu."

Elizabeth was feeling tired as she walked into the cafe's door the next morning, as she and Karen had been watching movies most of the night. Poor Karen would be worse off as she had been drinking and would be hungover.

It was a quiet day at least, though which enabled her to relax and clean. Even the chef was taking it easy. Then she noticed something.

"Barney, what's that on the window?"

The chef popped his head out and looked to where Elizabeth was walking. "Oh, some guy gave me a hundred credits to have it up for a week. Just a job posting for some farm work."

"Really? They must be desperate if they have posters rather than using the net." She walked up to the poster, curious as to who would advertise in such a way.

Help Wanted, the poster read, seeking strong individuals to help run dairy farm. Successful applicants will be intelligent and able to follow orders. Pay includes 700 credits a week, as well as free board. Please call Sarah Potter on ...

Elizabeth did not need to know more and quickly memorised the number. The rest of the day flew past as Elizabeth could not wait to call the number.

"So, what do you think?"

"We'd have to move though."

The debate had gone on for some time, with both girls going through the pros and cons of the job offer. It was out of the city, and neither had any real farm experience, but from the sound of the advertisement this had on the job training.

"But I checked out the job, it's double what we each earn now!" Elizabeth pointed out.

"I... let me sleep it on it, ok?"

With that simple request Karen had gone to bed. Elizabeth was not so tired though and decided to do a bit of research into the owner.

As it turned out Sarah Potter was a bit of a celebrity in the agriculture community. A bovine spiritkin, Sarah had begun her career in Federation territory, her ideas having helped many farms she had worked provide a better dairy yield due to increased care of the cows. She had designed better diets for them which had also increased the nutrition of the milk. Her ideas were stolen by a human farming consortium, however, and due to the corrupt legal system in the human controlled Federation she was unable to gain back her intellectual rights and also her royalties.

Sarah Potter had later moved to Australia as the country had always had a strong agriculture industry, even before Convergence. She had done quite well for a few years, and owned quite a few farms. However, as her stolen ideas became widely known her fame, and influence, decreased to the point where these days all she owned was a single farm, not too far from Sydney.

Now, thanks to some investment from some helpful friends Sarah Potter was planning to revolutionise the way the dairy world worked. And was willing to pay top dollar.

"Screw it," thought Elizabeth. "I want out of this shitfest city, and Karen can either come with me or find a new housemate."

"So where are you girls from?" came the question from the owner of the farm.

"Sydney, the both of us Mrs Potter." Karen was nervous about the interview, though she was not sure as to why.

"It's Miss Potter these days, got a divorce a couple years back. But you can just call me Sarah. I'm not the sort who likes titles."

That put the girls at ease. It had been a good four hour drive to get to the farm but the scenery more than made up for it. There were quite a few farms, not all dairy though. Potter Acres, as Sarah called her farm, was not a small one either, with seven large dairy barns and a homestead as well. The three of them sat around a small kitchen table, the inside of the homestead the perfect picture of a farmhouse, with pictures of prize cows, family photos and artworks around. The floor was timber, as was most of the furniture.

"So do either of you have any farm experience at all?" asked the spiritkin. Sarah was dressed in jeans and a checkered shirt, her hooves meaning she did not require any form of boot. As both girls shook their heads she sighed. "Well, I suppose that was too much to ask for. But it's nothing to worry about. Training will be supplied, and I think you both will do quite well here."

"What exactly are the tasks we'll be given, anyway?" This from Karen.

The bovine woman smiled. "At first, it'll be helping me muck the barns, making sure the cows are milked twice a day, any injuries are reported and later on I'll need your help making sure our new cows get properly bred. Gotta keep the herd up in numbers."

"Three of us? For seven barns?" queried Elizabeth.

"Four actually. My last farmhand still works here, but she's got a new job coming up, so I'll need to replace her sooner or later. Once you've got enough training, you'll be given a barn all yourself, or two if you're really good."

"Who gets the odd number?"

Sarah grinned. "Why me of course, but that barn is a lot of work, as I keep most of the research materials into new breeds and how they will make a profit there. Also full of my new designs into milk machines."

"So a no go, then?"

"Correct. Ummm, I do have some small adjustments to the contract though. One of our rooms has an issue with a water leak. If you're willing to share a single room I'll up the pay another hundred credits a week. So what do you say girls, willing to make the best deal of your life?"

Karen and Elizabeth did not hesitate and both made a lunge for the contract before them, and a pen to sign their names.

Elizabeth and Karen did not have a lot to move, which made the transition a lot easier, though at times it could be rough. Neither had enough wardrobe space, and privacy was non-existent. There had been other adjustments as well. The first adjustment had been the perhaps the hardest to adapt to. Both girls were used to waking up at eight in the morning, but now they woke at dawn, and neither was ready for it. However, Sarah was a good sport and offered them some homemade ice-coffee, which tasted so rich and sweet that both girls had to agree it was better than any Sydney cafe. It was as they were being taught they met Nicole, the other farm hand.

How Nicole could still easily work on the farm was a complete mystery to Elizabeth. The girl, obviously Japanese in heritage and perhaps the bustiest girl from Asia she had ever seen. On top of that, she also happened to be obviously pregnant, around six months.

It only occurred to Elizabeth that perhaps this is the reason Sarah had probably posted the job vacancy in the first place, to prepare for when Nicole had to go to hospital to give birth. Nicole was rather aloof from the others, which Sarah would simply explain away.

"Girl was always shy. Won't even tell her friends who's kid it is!" she grumbled.

And so began their new work lives. Each morning and each afternoon they would round up the cattle, which was surprisingly fun thanks to the aid of toy planes. Once the cattle were rounded up each cow would be led to the milk pumps. The pumps hung from the ceiling and were easy to attach, thanks to a near constant amount of suction. Karen found this part of the job hilarious as the cows brayed and mooed in relief and almost swayed as they were milked. Elizabeth also found it somewhat hilarious, but kept her mirth to herself as she noticed Sarah watching their reactions. She did not know why, but Sarah seemed to find it quite amusing as well, though she merely smirked.

Other chores were far easier, such as mucking, which was simply done by hosing the barns down. The liquid manure was then drained into grates and sent to vats.

"The resulting fertiliser is really good on crops," explained Sarah, "so I sell it to the local farmers for cheap. Their yields have increased by at least double since."

"Why not charge more?" asked Elizabeth as she was shooing the cows from the barn after a milking.

"Because I'm not in the fertiliser business, Liz. Besides, the farmers around here need all the help we can get. They also ensure I'm never out of fresh produce for my home cooking, and they 'discourage' other dairy farmers from trying to compete with me."

Elizabeth could not disagree; Sarah's cooking, while all vegetarian, was beyond delicious, and she was feeling the best she had in years from the nutrients. However, it was her treats like the homemade ice cream, iced coffee and milkshakes that were the best tasting, as they were made from fresh milk, which was a wonderful tasting experience.

It was roughly two and a half months into their life on the farm that Nicole had to leave to go to the hospital. One day Sarah and Nicole had jumped into the old ute and trundled off. Sarah had told the girls to do their chores and have the rest of the day off. They could even go into town if they wanted. But, as farm life is so intensive, both girls simply did their chores, had their dinner, a shower and went to bed.

The next morning they were filled in on the details.

"How's the baby?" asked Karen.

"Mother and daughter are doing just fine. However, due to her new duties she won't be working here anymore. I'm gonna have to hire again. That's always fun." The last was said with a slightly defeatist attitude.

"Is she coming back at all?"

Sarah shook her head. "No, her days of being a farmhand are over."

Karen grinned. "In that case, could I have her room? It's been a month and I think Elizabeth and I could use the space."

"Hmmm, seems fair enough. Moving in tonight I gather?"

"I was thinking this morning. Then I'll go and do my usual duties."

"I could give you a hand," Elizabeth offered.

Sarah waved her off. "No, I need you to get your cows done first. I'll give her a hand. Then she and I will deal with the rest of the cows."

"Sweet, my own room!" came Karen's gleeful squeal.

Elizabeth sat in the barn, watching the cows being milked. It was something she found very peaceful since she had come here, watching all the cows mooing as they were milked, some now showing bellies as they were pregnant thanks to some of the bulls. Still it was relaxing. They had such an easy life. Milk, fuck, feed, milk, fuck, feed. And as usual, since no one was usual, Elizabeth began to massage her breasts through her shirt. They felt so good, and seemed even bigger since coming to the farm. Must be the good air and food, she surmised.

Elizabeth thought about it. In all fairness, Karen and Sarah would be at least and hour before they would be out of the house. To hell with it, Elizabeth thought, and she unbuttoned her shirt, revealing the fact that her breasts had truly outgrown her bra, she began to play with them.

Her once C-cup breasts were now a respectable D-cup, and jiggled as she massaged them. One of her hands slowly undid her fly, and she felt her netherlips being parted, she gently, eagerly rubbed her clit. The attention went on for some while, she tugged and kneaded at her breasts, panting quietly, listening to the braying of the cows, until she finally came, juices flowing, she groaned, shivering all over. It had been too long since she had taken care of herself like that.

She relaxed, sitting against the hay, replete from her pleasure, until the milking machines gave the signal they had finished. She grinned, and buttoned up her shirt and did up her fly. She wondered why she had been so tempted to give into her pleasure. What if she had been caught? She put those questions aside, realising that she had chores to do. In silence she worked, getting the cows off the milkers and back out into the fields. As she ushered the cows out into the field she saw that Karen's cows were still waiting outside their milking barn. The same went for Sarah's and Nicole's.

"What on Earth? They should be done by now." Elizabeth grumbled and then began to walk to the house to investigate when she heard a loud mooing from Karen's cows. She paused. No, she could not leave the poor cows bloated with milk like that. They were just animals and deserved a kind hand. With a sigh, she just realised she'd have to do it all until Karen and Sarah finished. Resigned she got to work.

Several hours passed, Elizabeth running from one barn to the next, getting the cows all milked and sorted. It was hard work, but easy work at the same time. The cows followed orders, and seemed eager to be milked. Simple creatures, she thought.

It was nearing mid-afternoon by the time she had gotten the cows back into the fields. She was exhausted, and had left the mucking. Sarah and Karen could do that themselves, she thought with a groan. As she entered the house she began to walk upstairs, then heard it.

Karen's voice, moaning out in pain. Elizabeth did not waste time and quickly ran upstairs, and froze. The door, wide open, gave her a perfect view. Karen was bent over the bed, her belongings scattered and uncared for. Karen was looking away from the door, and moaned louder and louder. Behind her, panting, was Sarah, grunting as she slid one of the biggest cocks Elizabeth had ever seen in and out of her friend's dripping hole. Elizabeth darted out of the doorway, hoping she had not been seen. Blushing from head to toe, she crept to the bathroom, planning to have a very loud shower.

As night drew on, Elizabeth relaxed in the lounge room, having made a salad for herself. Topped with apple pie and ice-cream. She was hungry and the others had yet to come downstairs. As she finished her dessert, she heard a polite cough from behind her. Turning, she saw Sarah, dressed in pyjamas and freshly showered.

"Oh, ummm hi," was all Elizabeth could muster.

"Mind if I have a seat?"

Elizabeth could not help but laugh at that. "It's your house Sarah. Don't ask permission."

"Thanks." Sarah sat on her favorite couch. "You saw?"

Elizabeth nodded. "Thought Karen was in pain at first. Wrong on that count, wasn't I?"

The bovine girl giggled. "Yes. Quite. You're not upset?"

Elizabeth pondered the question. It was a fair one. "Yes. I'm fucking pissed."

Sarah looked at her hooves. "I'm sorry. I know she's your friend and -"

"I don't give a shit who fucks who, Sarah. You guys left me to do all the fucking work!"

Looking up, Sarah was perplexed. "Wait, what? You're not angry I slept with your friend?"

Elizabeth shrugged, regretting the action as her breasts jiggled. "What do I care? But why did I have to do all the work?"

"You milked all the cows?"

A nod was the answer. "Though you two can do the mucking."

"Fair enough. You have tomorrow off. And you get a bonus in your pay."

"Bribing me to not make a fuss?"

Sarah nodded. "Yes. And to keep what you saw between Karen and me private. I have a reputation in these parts."

"Fine," Elizabeth sighed. "But we need another farm hand."

Sarah raised an eyebrow. "You actually care for this farm, don't you?"

"It's a job. But the cows are gentle creatures, they deserve some kindness."

The meaning was not lost on Sarah. "Thank you."

Elizabeth grinned. "Now, would you like to know her top positions?"

The farm's owner blushed and grinned. Their conversation would go late into the night.

The months flowed onwards. Elizabeth treated her friend and her employer with respect, though she could never resist a bit of gentle teasing. Sarah hired a young farm hand, another human girl by the name of Melissa. A redhead in every sense of the word, she was a firebrand and delighted in playing pranks. It was, all in all, a perfect job.

Then, like all things, it changed.

"Come on, Karen, get your ass moving, I need to use the shower!" Elizabeth shouted through the door. Karen and Sarah were now openly lovers. Karen had delighted in this and began to wear sexier and sexier clothing, sometimes just to tease Sarah and sometimes it was enough that Elizabeth and Melissa would go out to the local tavern just so they would not have to listen to the bestial moans that came from the master bedroom.

Elizabeth knocked on the door again. "Karen? You ok?"

The door creaked open. She listened. A quiet sob met her ears.

"Karen?"

She opened the door, and there was Karen, in her pyjamas, curled up in the shower. Sobbing.

"Karen?" Elizabeth walked in, and knelt beside her friend. "What's up?"

Karen sobbed and pointed to the sink.

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. What was up? She got up and went to the sink, then felt her heart skip a beat.

A pregnancy test. She looked at it. Positive.

"What am I gonna do?" Karen sobbed.

"I... Karen... holy hell. Weren't you using condoms? Or the pill? Or something?"

"I was! I was using the pill since Sarah was too big for condoms. Obviously they didn't work."

Elizabeth nodded. She remembered when she was younger that she was told that most of the contraceptive pills available did not work with spiritkin. Something about their magical nature or something like that. "What do you want to do?"

"I don't know. Elizabeth, tell me what to do!"

"Me? Karen, it's your child. And Sarah's."

Karen went silent for a moment. "I should tell her, shouldn't I?"

Elizabeth nodded. "Well, that depends. Whatever you decide, I'm your friend and I'll help out."

"Thanks. But... I should tell her. Help me up?"

Elizabeth would never forget the fight that followed. She and Melissa had remained outside but there was no hiding the words coming from the house.

Sarah had been joyed at first, but Karen had decided she wanted an abortion, as her parents would kill her for having a non-human child. They were immigrants from the Federation after all. The subtext that spiritkin were somehow less worthy of life had set Sarah off. She and Karen had fought all day, and only when Elizabeth and Melissa returned from looking after the entire herd had it quietened.

Melissa walked up to her room in silence, wanting to avoid the fight. Elizabeth, a friend to both, decided to see how it went. She walked into the lounge room. Sarah and Karen were sitting on the rug, leaning back on the couch.

"Ummm, so... can I get you guys anything?" she asked.

Sarah looked up, eyes stern. "A drink. But not too much. I'm gonna have to drive."

Elizabeth looked at Karen, eyes red from crying. "She... she's gonna drive me into town tomorrow. Then if the doctor confirms it... we..."

"You don't need to say anything Karen," Elizabeth interjected.

"Thanks."

"Elizabeth," Sarah quietly spoke. "You and Mel, I want you both to take some time off. Two weeks. Starting the day after tomorrow. And... give us some space."

Elizabeth nodded, understanding.

* * * *

Elizabeth and Melissa drove in silence, the redhead at the wheel.

"Think they'll be okay?" Melissa asked, breaking the emptiness.

Elizabeth sighed. "I hope so. They make a good couple. Why do people keep getting knocked up there?"

"Huh?"

Elizabeth laughed dryly. "When Karen I first started there was another girl, Nicole. She was pretty pregnant, and had to leave when she gave birth."

"Sarah's kid?"

"Don't know. No one did. So what are you doing with your time off?"

Melissa giggled. "I'm taking a trip to Flemria. Hear they like humans with big assets there."

The words drew Elizabeth's eyes to Melissa's frame. Sure enough, just like Karen and herself, Melissa's bust had gone up several cup sizes whilst working at the farm. "Damn you're a slut."

"Hey, just because I like having something between my legs that doesn't use batteries doesn't make me a slut. You look like you could use a break too. Why not come with me?"

Elizabeth shook her head. "Nah. Seeing my folks. Besides, most of my friends are in Sydney and it's been ages since we caught up."

"Your loss. I'll be sure to have enough fun for the both of us."

"Somehow that doesn't surprise me. So will you be able to pick me up?"

"Shouldn't be a problem, just email me the date and time."

"Cool."

They continued to make small talk as they drove. Elizabeth realised she missed the the farm the further she got from it. Still, the break would be good, and when they got back she could hang with Karen again. Yes, the break was just what she needed.

******

"She's gone?" Elizabeth asked, looking at the letter.

"Yes. She left two days after the procedure." Sarah was sitting on the couch, drinking something that smelled like it would be close to pure ethanol.

"But... She didn't tell me!"

"I didn't know that. But there is the letter."

Elizabeth looked at the letter again. Karen was gone. She had broken up with Sarah after the doctor's visit, packed her things and left. There was no explanations in the letter, but Elizabeth knew none were needed.

"So what happens now?" Melissa asked, drinking a milkshake.

"I hire a new farmhand. Again."

"That's it? Damn it Sarah, she's my friend! Didn't she leave a forwarding address or something?!" Elizabeth shouted.

The bovine woman shook her head. "No. I'm sorry Liz. Are you going to quit?"

Elizabeth had thought about it. But she had looked for work while on her break, and still, this was the best thing going. "No. You'll need me here. God fucking damn it."

Sarah nodded. "Thank you."

Elizabeth smiled, but she new she could no longer see Sarah like she did before. The departure of Karen hurt too much.

The weeks that followed should have been tough, but while Sarah scoured for another farm hand the three of them were able to keep the farm in good condition. The fresh air once again did wonders for Elizabeth and Melissa's bodies, both returning to their nice curvy figures they had begun to lose while on break.

Sarah recovered quite well from Karen's departure, though she spent more and more time in the research barn, in her quest to improve the quality of the milk she sold. New vitamins came out, supplements, and the quality did improve, eventually allowing the hiring of not just one but two new farm hands, twin sisters named Carrie and Rachael.

However, something seemed off. Elizabeth had been at the farm for about a year and a half now, and she began to notice things. The most obvious was that Sarah only hired women. That alone was not too odd, as women were just as skilled as men. But all the women had been human, not a single spiritkin had ever been hired. Even when Melissa left the farm to study abroad in Flemria another girl had replaced her. Isobelle, a cute little blonde with curls similar to Karen. And that was when Elizabeth began to notice something odd.

There was no hiding it; every time a girl came to this farm she grew curvier, bustier. At first Elizabeth had attributed this to an improved diet and the copious amounts of milk they all drank. On a whim, Elizabeth, now senior farm hand, had begun feeding the girls watered down milk, barring Carrie. True to her suspicions, all but Carrie had begun to lose some of their curves. And, once their figures were back to normal, they had intense cravings for the milk again, Elizabeth included. Unable to stop herself, she stopped the experiment.

The milk was tainted. Elizabeth was shocked to discover that. But why? And with what? After all, if all that happened was they got curvier, well, that was not a huge problem. She had once gone to ask Sarah about it, but something had stopped her. Now sitting on the hay, no one nearby, she listened to the cows, and blushing she reached to tease her own breast. What she felt make her freeze.

Her nipple was wet. She looked down at huge E-cup breasts. Both nipples. Both wet. Shivering in fear, she raised her finger to her lips, tasting it. She looked up at the cows still being milked. There was no way it could be true, but it was.

She was lactating.

Elizabeth stood, ignoring her open shirt. What was going on?

She looked at the other barns. Sarah would be at her cow barn for now. Elizabeth looked towards the research barn. She needed answers.

She quietly walked up to the lone barn, noticing for the first time that the barn was not a wooden building like the rest, but merely had a wooden facade. It was steel, and still new. She walked to the door. It was locked.

She blinked. The barn had no barn door. She looked at the door in front of her. It was the only door in. No barn door was available for the cows.

"What the hell is going on, Sarah?" she whispered to herself.

It was too weird to back down now. Leaning back, she kicked the door. Finally it gave. Elizabeth, shivering in trepidation, walked in. It was a dark office and lab. and behind that she could see the faint lights of the milk barn. But nothing was right. Looking around the office she saw notes, chemical formulae, estimates for something simply called 'produce'. She heard more mooing. But it sounded off, as if mimicked. She opened the door to the milking barn, and flicked on the main light.

She instantly regretted doing so.

Stall after after stall lined the barn, with milk pumps hanging above each one. Some were active, some were not. But they were all too small. And not built for cows, she realised, seeing the lack of four suction cups but rather only two.

Nervously, she walked to the first stall.

"Oh my god!"

Before her was the truth. Sitting in the hay, butt naked was a young woman, her breasts engorged ridiculously. One breast was in a suction pump, the other, nursing a child. At least, she thought it was a child, but it was of a species Elizabeth had never seen before. Two tiny nubs of horns grew from its forehead, and a small cow-like tail flicked happily as it fed. But otherwise, human.

The woman looked up, her narrow brown eyes showing faint signs of recognition. After a moment the look vanished.

"Nicole?" Elizabeth said incredulously.

"Moo," came the woman's reply.

Elizabeth took a step back, hearing a moo from the stall behind her. Turning she saw a redheaded woman moaning and mooing as she was sucked on by both suction cups, milk flowing from them in an unnatural manner.

"Melissa?! What's happening?"

The woman looked up, fear in her own eyes, she moved her mouth to speak, but only a loud moan came out.

Elizabeth began to piece it together. All the girls, all the humans, why they all left and why their bodies changed on the farm. They were not employees. They were experiments! Sarah was insane!

Then she heard it. A pleasured moo. She sobbed inside, recognising the voice. As she walked by some of the stalls she saw girls she did not know, some pregnant, some nursing the inhuman children, some still flat bellied and being milked. Finally she found the source of the noise.

"Karen?"

Sitting in the hay, her blonde curls frayed and her hair longer than ever, was her best friend, naked like the rest. Two suction cups molested the girl's breasts, sucking out rich milk. But then Elizabeth saw it. An unmistakable bulge in the woman's abdomen. She was still pregnant.

"Moooo," came Karen's voice, her eyes semi-vacant.

Elizabeth took a step back. She had to get out. Tell the police!

"Damn it Liz, why did you sneak in here?"

She slowly turned. Standing there, wearing nothing at all, was Sarah, her cock hanging limply. However, she was also holding a stun-gun used to knock out unruly bulls.

"What... what have you done? What the hell is this?"

"A new strain of extremely good tasting, high vitamin and calcium milk that sells extremely well in certain circles."

"But -"

Elizabeth did not get to finish her sentence, as the next thing she knew was a surge of incredible pain, followed by nothing at all as blackness took her.

"So how's the project coming along?" asked the silver-haired man, walking through the barn.

"Quite good, not one escape, not one death and still no one knows what we're doing. Just another three batches and the herd will be self-sustaining. We've genetically mapped the new breed and they are indeed a hybrid. Though they lack any real intelligence. They are cows. Hucows as I like to call them."

"You've done well, Sarah."

The two stopped in front of a stall. Inside was a woman, moaning and mooing as two suction cups milked her endlessly. Her belly was huge and only six months pregnant.

"Is this the one who gave you trouble?"

Sarah nodded. As usual she wore nothing in the barn, though the man wore a suit. "Yes. Bessie here was perhaps my greatest student. Never would have turned her if she hadn't figured it out."

"Really?"

"She cared about her job. Bright too."

The man blinked. "She's your special request, isn't she?"

Sarah nodded. "Before every conception I've laced the girls with gene altering drugs so they give birth to the hucows. Bess here will deliver our first set of twins. But I want her next calf to be unaltered. Mine."

"May I ask why? She does belong to both of us, after all."

"She's bright. I want my kids to have the same trait. One day they'll be running this farm, you know."

The silver-haired man smiled crookedly. "I have no real problem with it. The money keeps coming in, so do as you wish. But tell me, how did you perfect the treatment to create the hybrids?"

The bovine wildkin shrugged, her breasts jiggling. "My first subject was a bio-chemical genius. However, she got kicked out of university for a brawl. I hired her, learned from her then well, Nicole is a fine producer of milk."

"No witnesses. We'll do well. Might I have a copy of your research notes in regards to the hybridisation though?"

Sarah nodded. "Yes, I've left a copy on my desk for you."

He smiled. "Then I will be on my way. I'll leave you to your farm, Miss Potter."

As he left, Sarah looked at Bess, and entered the stall, grinning. "Care for a bit of fun?"

The woman, her ebony skin shiny with sweat and leaked milk could only say one thing.

"Moo."
