The year is twenty-thirty-five, but of coarse I had no way of knowing that, and I could have swore I was dead or on the verge of death at any rate. I am stranded in the middle of some desert, I know I'm not on my planet because Serenity doesn't have any deserts. My leg is broken and I have no way to bind it and to make things all that much worse, I have no food my only saving grace is that I do happen to have my grandfathers walking stick but it does very little in this sandy arid environment. I can see an oasis in the distance, however, there is a good chance I will not make it there. My injury is pretty bad and I am so tired it is hard to focus on what it is I am doing.

"Oh god Treyborn I am so sorry that I dragged you into this mess."I cried.

Reaching the apex of the dune I had been steadily and unknowingly climbing due to my attention being on my broken leg and the events that had transpired over the course of the day, I stepped right over the edge and bounced and rolled all the way to the bottom hitting my head against the sand. At this point you are probably wondering why I am in such a dire straits, well to understand that you must first understand my past and I must warn you it is nothing you could ever expect.

2015 - Lake Turian - Planet Serenity

"What's up Phoenix?" I shouted to my friend as I carved a sandy path down the beach front. Phoenix Talbrak is a Five foot eight inch shaggy Saint Bernard who spends all his free time fishing, so if it was a weekend as it was today or his day off you could usually find him in his favorite fishing spot out on Lake Turian. "Oh hey Howlett" Phoenix said shakily. "You shouldn't sneak up on me like that!" he exclaimed catching his breath." "You scared the hell out of me!"

"I didn't sneak up on you I walked, you were the one facing away from me wearing a headset." I said annoyed. Catching his breath Phoenix took a moment to examine his German Shepherd friend. Standing at about 6'4" Howlett had a standard German Shepherd fur pattern but as far as his colors went he definitely got some odd colors to him for his breed and Canines in general. His colors were Black on top of red, but his red wasn't the normal cinnamon color that others had.

Howlett's color was a vibrant red like the cherry red you would see on a car or maybe a little darker. Phoenix often wondered if Howlett dyed his fur and so he had asked Howlett once and all he would say was that he didn't want to talk about it. His fur was semi long and he had a furtoo on his upper left arm in the shape of a flame tribal around a nautical star at its center and was wearing jungle green camouflage pants with a pair of black combat boots. "What's wrong Howlett?" asked phoenix seeing Howlett's expression.

"I don't really feel like asking you about this I grumbled "You always get so upset."

"Just spit it out already." Phoenix said cutting him off. "I am your best friend, if you can't come to me then who can you come too?" Phoenix asked

"Alright fine. Howlett sighed, defeated "Have you seen Treyborn?" he asked, noticing phoenix tensed and growled very low. "Dude, we have been over this I am not your damn cats baby sitter phoenix spat placing emphasis on the word "Cats".

"No shit asshole and he isn't my "Cat" he's my mate and this is exactly why I didn't want to ask." I growled. "And besides, are you forgetting that "Cat" saved your ass from that fire you started last week?" I reminded him.

"Yeah, I know, you don't need to remind me." Phoenix said remorsefully. "Sorry I was so mean, no I have not seen Treyborn all day." he said. "Why is everything okay?" he asked.

"I'm not sure." I said. "He was supposed to meet me here and he is an hour late, I can't reach him on his communicator." I began to pace behind Phoenix after about a minute he said.

"DUDE! You totally need to chill your shit and sit down you are starting to scare the fish away.

"There are somethings more important than a fish phoenix." I grumbled moodily. "You could at least try to be nice to and about him."

"What and miss the beautiful attempts at you defending him? Phoenix sniggered sarcastically,

Present Day - Location Unknown - Planet unknown

Stumbling through the desert I could feel my life slipping away from me, I hadn't eaten in approximately twelve hours or at least I thought it had been twelve hours my watch broke during my fall along with my leg. Tripping over a rock it was only then that I noticed that I had reached the oasis, crawling over to the water pool I drank deeply from it. I lay silently stifling shrieks of pain, my final thoughts before drifting off to an uneasy sleep were "I can't die out here Treyborn needs me." I must have been sleeping for hours before someone came along and found me but by then I was to weak from pain, hunger and thirst to recognize that I had infact been saved.

They left their healer with the me to heal and calm my soul as I slept. I awoke with a start, I had expected to be feeling tired and in pain from my broken leg laying beside the pool of water in the oasis. Instead, what I found was that I was feeling remarkably rested I saw that my leg had been bound and there was an IV dripping fluids into my arm to keep me hydrated I coughed hard and said "I need water, my mouth is dry." to the other individual in the room. Looking up from her book the nurse looked at him, smiled and brought a cone shaped paper cup with water into him. "you call that a drink, come on now." I scoffed.

Unaffected by his sudden and abrupt rudeness coming from him the nurse seemed to understand and immediately went and got a huge 64 ounce mug of water, which I guzzled down not spilling a drop, the nurse was just about to ask me if I was going to come up for air when I came to my senses gasped for air and apologized for my rudeness. "Where am I and who are you? I asked

"My name is Mea I am a Nurse here at the Serenity General Hospital." she stated. "

"Wait, what?!"How can that... wait... I was just at Lake Turian this morning with my friends everything was fine how can this be?" I said glumly .

"Sir Lake Turian has been dry for nearly 10 years, in fact, it was one of the first to go you can see that if you just look outside." she explained.

"Today is May 20, 2015 right?" I asked pointedly "No, sir today is June 14, 2035 and I am afraid I must leave now and you cannot leave this room, as of this moment you are under a strict quarantine you are now the property of The A.N.G.E.L.S" Mea said commandingly as she left the room and locked the door behind her.

2015 - Lake Turian

From the distant parking lot off the beach front Treyborn sat in his car watching his mate pacing behind Phoenix and was worried that Howlett was going to be mad at the five foot seven Gray and Black striped Maine Coon mix. He had forgotten to charge his communicator again and had got caught in a traffic jam caused by an accident on the eagle way 60, so Treyborn had stopped and bought him one of the stuffed human toys he loved. Howlett had the whole set aside from the new one so he bought it for him, Treyborn saw Howlett sniff the air and look his way, then he sighed and said to himself

"Well, I guess it's time to go to him." Grabbing the toy and hiding it behind his back after he stepped out of his electric car, all the roadways are solar electric and cars take a charge via a wireless connection from the panels so travel takes no time at all. The governing body over serenity spared no expense to provide and unite and in only five short years had every nation united under one flag, The Anthropomorphic National Gynecocracy Enforcers of Law on Serenity or (A.N.G.E.L.S) were formed and that's when everything changed. Now a Matriarchal Society, Serenity has lived in peace for the last 5 years. As Treyborn approached the two canines across the sandy lake front with his paws behind his back holding the toy, he noted the annoyed expression on Howletts face and as he approached he shouted

"Hey there handsome, How are you?" I waited for Treyborn to get closer to him then said with relief "I'm fine now." "Where is your communicator and why are you so late getting here? He asked mock pouting.

"I am so sorry hon, I didn't mean to be late, I would have called to tell you there was a traffic jam on Eagle 60 but my communicator is dead." Treyborn explained. "But to make it up to you I got a got a surprise for you on my way here, close your eyes and hold out your hands love."

With a curious look on my face I closed my eyes, now normally I would have just sniffed the air to find out what it was. I hated surprises and Treyborn knew that, but I was a bit distracted by him being so late that I didn't even think about it. I felt an oddly familiar weight in my hands and opened my eyes in shock to find that Treyborn had bought him the Rock Star human toy that came out 2 days ago. I had tried to get it, but the stores I went to were all sold out. I had no Idea how Treyborn found this but I loved him even more for it.

Tackling Treyborn to the ground, giving him the biggest, most slobbery dog kisses and it was at that point that they heard a retching from the shore line. "Come on now P.D.A Much!" Phoenix chided.

Oh, hi Phoenix I didn't see you there." Treyborn said shyly "You don't even know what P.D.A means." I said, leaning over in his direction.

"Yeah I do it means Pussy Dog Abuse." Phoenix gibed. "Ugh, no it means Public Display of Affection." Treyborn and I corrected at the same time.

"I know that, bout time you said hello to me Treyborn I was beginning to think you were not going to talk to me anymore. Phoenix stated innocently

"Yeah, you know I probably would have said something sooner, but you know I was busy with my boyfriend and all not only that but you told me you wanted nothing to do with me." Treyborn accused I narrowed my eyes warningly at the Saint Bernard a look that Treyborn did not miss he would have to remember to ask him later what that was about, interrupting his thoughts phoenix said with a grumble.

"Yeah well I just don't want to lose my best friend so that earns you a chance just don't hurt him or I will hurt you." And with a ziiiiing plunk sound out on the water from Phoenix casting his line out, phoenix went back to his fishing.
