#1 of Vessel Explained

I was going to write a story about The Council of Species, one of many big things in the world of Vessel, but it ending up being more of an explanation. I think I explained it pretty well, despite being kinda vague and incomplete in some parts, but I plan to write more and they will help to clear everything up. I still will be writing a story about The Council of Species soon. If you have any suggestions to make it better, like explaining some parts more, then feel free to comment. I am a new writer, obviously, and I need criticism.

The Council of Species is a meeting of many gods in the world of Vessel. The gods that come to this meeting each represent a species of mortals living in Vessel. There is one god for each species, and they each have their own duties and responsibilities to maintain their species. Due to this there are many conflicts between them, and they must meet every week to come up with compromises. These meetings are the only way for them to avoid starting wars and keep up good relations.

The leader of the council is and has always been the god of all beasts, Beasdius. Beasdius is a hybrid of all species and acts as the middle ground between all the gods. Beasdius has no biases towards any one species and is able to offer effective and fair comprises to any situation. Beasdius sits at the head of the council overlooking all the species at the table.

The table is split into two sides, Predator and Prey. Prey is considered any species that is on the lower half of the "food chain", and Predator is any species on the upper half of the "chain". For example the god of rabbits and the god of mice are on the same side of the table, whereas the god of lions and the god of humans would are both on the other side of the table. Also the more exotic or rare the species is the further it will sit from the head of the table. God of humans, god of wolves, and god of rabbits are much closer to the head, whereas god of aye-ayes, god of sugar gliders, and god of scorpions would be towards the other end of the table.

Despite being able to come to comprises, many species still harbor hatred and hostility towards others. All want what is best for their species, and many times some feel that they are getting the short end of the stick, and other will take everything that they can at every chance. This leads to high tensions within the council, and Beasdius must do all he can to prevent wars between the species.
