The sun was bursting through the glass window, making it's way across the bedroom, slowly creeping up a messy bed, and into the sleeping face of a lightly chocolate colored wolf named Zazu. He sat on a bench but was too tired to even notice there was a girl what looked like about his age sitting on the other side of the bench. He took a quick glance at the girl then looked away so he wouldn't look like a stalker of some sort but also to get a good enough of a look at her. She seemed to be a black wolf with charcoal like color fur and shiny, bright black hair that went down just a little bit after her chin. She had a white skirt like top with black and white stripes down the sleeves, short black shorts, what appeared to be dancing shoes, and long white socks that almost went up to her knees. But despite her gothic appearance, she seemed to have a gentle face and personality yet be able to hold her own if things got ugly. She also had a little white ribbon wrapped around her right ear. Zazu figured that she would look like a zebra from far away with her clothing and fur. He then stared at the ribbon and something inside his head seemed to start moving the gears of his brain. He found her to be odd, but not of her appearance, but because he thinks he's seen that ribbon like that on someone's ear and delicate face a while back ago...

*10 years prior* (note: This story is in a human timeline, ex: 1-100 years)

They don't seem like their too much bigger than us though." The worry seemed to vanish as the two relaxed when they thought they heard some voice in the wind...

It was a young and shy fae who was hiding behind a nearby tree. The fae started to speak as she slowly revealed her self from behind the tree. "I was... maybe wondering.. If I could play with you two? ..I just moved in from down the road and my dad wanted me to.. Make some friends." Zazu noticed she had a white ribbon attached to her right ear then the wolf and dragon looked at her for a moment to study her a bit, then looked at each other then back at the fae. Zazu then perked up a smile then walked a couple steps closer to the young pup until they were arm length apart. "Of course, we would be happy to play with you." He then stuck out a paw at her and the little fae perked up her ears then stared into the boy wolf's eyes to see if he meant it. She could tell he wasn't lying and tears started to swell up in her eyes when she then quickly hugged Zazu while tears ran down her cheeks out of happiness. "Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!" The fae continued to hug him Zazu while he had a look of confusion on his face, then he looked back at his friend who just shrugged his shoulders and said. "Hey don't look at me, I thought that might have been normal with your kind." Zazu then looked back at the girl who was still holding him tightly. "Ummm... So what do we call you?" The young fae quickly came to her senses and blushed brightly and let go of the confused and slightly blushing boy.

"My name is Anca." she said while doing a curtsey. "What are your names?" Kaiser walked next to Zazu then put his arm around his shoulder. "My name is Kaiser." The dragon said then pointed to his friend with still a little red on his cheeks. "And the guy you just glomped is named Zazu." Zazu just waved since Kaiser already introduced him. Zazu then noticed a couple small wet spots on his shirt then looked at Anca who still had a few tears in her eyes. "Hey Anca, were you crying a little?" Anca didn't even really notice until she put her finger in her eye and noticed it was wet. "I guess I was, I was just so happy that you two decided to be my friends I was overcome with happiness and started crying." She started smiling brightly while the other two looked at each other until Kaiser said. "You sound like you've never had a friend." Anca's smile disappeared as she slowly hung her head down and shook it slowly. It was quiet for a few seconds until Zazu bumped Kaiser with his elbow. "Well you've got two friends right here." Anca looked up with sparkling eyes then saw truthful smiles across their faces and started to swell up with tears again then made a group hug with them. *The three friends were just about inseparable for the next two years until Anca had to move back again, but Kaiser and Zazu knew that one day they would met again.

Zazu then looked at the girl again and noticed some similar features then looked and saw a white ribbon on the girl's ear. He practically had an internal war deciding if he should mention the name ‘Anca' to see how the girl would respond but how embarrassing would that be if she wasn't. Zazu deeply regretted even speaking to the girl since she was reading him like a book with that piercing eye of hers. He must have been scared stiff cause it took him a few seconds to even notice the girl was talking to him. "Hey guy, can I help you or something I mean you said my name?" Zazu shook his head to get his thoughts back together. "Yeah, you wouldn't happen to remember a wolf named Zazu by any chance?" The female wolf then had a puzzling look in her eye then suddenly had a shocked look on her face. "Zazu? Is that really you?!" Zazu nodded and smiled at the same time. "Yep it's really me." Anca gave out a little squeal and hugged Zazu tightly. "Oh my goodness Zazu, it's so good to see you!" Anca was hugging him so tightly when he was off guard that he started to lose oxygen yet he managed to let out a sentence. "Yeah, but doesn't this seem familiar." Anca giggled a little and let him go. "Sorry, I seem to do that every time don't I?" Regaining sweet breathe again, Zazu nodded and smiled at her while noticing the same little childish smile and delicate face then he and Kaiser met back 10 years ago. His trip down memory lane was interrupted when Anca asked him something about Kaiser.

"So where's Kaiser? I almost always used to see you two together. Even when I went to go wake you up at noon, I noticed you two stayed up all night together." Zazu chuckled as he remembered those days.

"Well he left out of town for a couple days but might be back tonight." Anca tipped her ears down a bit. "Oh well I was hopping I could see him again."

"I'm sure you will." The two then locked eyes for a couple minutes until Zazu's phone rang. He looked at the caller ID. "It's my mom." He picked it up. "Hello?"

"Hi Zazu, so anything new?" A smirk went across his mouth.

"No, not really."

"What do you mean not really?"

"I just bumped into someone."

"Oh really, do we know them?"

"Yeah you do."

Anca started smiling widely while Zazu couldn't help but stare in her deep red eyes that used to be piercing but now are calm, soothing, and instead act like their pulling him in.

"Well I'm just checking to see how you're doing so we'll see you home soon."

Was it cause him, Kaiser, and Anca can finally be friends just like old times? Or was it cause he felt something emotionally strange about Anca and wanted to see if the feelings were true?

"Well my parents won't be home for awhile so you can just come with me back to my house if you want." Anca nodded then the two went out of the mall then drove back to Zazu's house. When they arrived at the house, Anca couldn't help but stare at the house. "This place looks the same as it did about 10 years ago and it brings back so many memories." Zazu smiled then stared at the house. "Well there's going to be more memories made now more than ever." Anca then looked over at Zazu who looked like he had something troubling on his mind. "What's that supposed to mean?" The wolf then blushed a bit then quickly answered. "Oh nothing, I was just thinking out loud." The two then went inside while Anca looked at every little corner in the house with delight while she remembered all the crazy things they used to do.

"Well Kaiser will show up soon so I guess get ready to see your favorite dragon again." Anca giggled and stared at Zazu wondering what he might have been doing all this time that she has been gone. She could only wonder while Zazu was deep in thought as he kept going back and forth wondering if he should tell Anca what's going threw his head or not. The thinking was interrupted by the ringing of Zazu's phone with another text from Kaiser. "Aw man." Zazu said with depression in his voice. "What's the matter Zazu?" "Kaiser can't make it cause his parents what him to stay at his house for the night so he can unpack his stuff." Anca pinned her ears down. "So much for our little catch-up slumber party." Zazu looked over at her and noticed a slight look of sadness on her face. "Well... we can still maybe catch up if you want." A secret smile jumped on Anca's face as her ears pinned up.
