#23 of The Great Balancing

Chapter1

Three green laser rings passed up and down Kitt's muscular midnight blue frame as he stood in the diagnostic tube of the lab, being watched by his mate Alec and first officer Lauren. The doctor a six foot tall insect looking like a praying mantis with his large pincers and big eyes observed the readings being given off by the scanners.

"Simply amazing...." His voice synthesizer emitted. "I've never seen anything like this before, it's almost as if this energy which his body is emanating has altered his very genetic make almost to the point where he's not even a physical life form anymore."

Alec growled a bit. "Look we've been here for six hours, the assembly said that you could help us find the cure for the plague that has infected our planet and Kitt not turn him into your science project."

"Fair enough Colonels. I have identified the virus that has been unleashed on your world, it is a variation of the Quix virus and it shouldn't be hard to develop a cure your DNA is much simpler than the species in universe 426. However there is a problem..." the doctor slowly trailed off.

"What kind of problem doctor?" Lauren piped up.

"Well as I said Kitt's genetic make up isn't the same as the original species, it will take me several months of testing to even comprehend how it is affecting his body. I have been able to assess the length of time it will take for it to fully take effect." The mantis said.

Kitt stepped down out of the chamber and sighed. "How long do I have left?"

"Seven, maybe eight months at the outside...then the Quix will have adjusted to your make up and begin to disassemble it. I'm sorry."

Kitt nodded and began to get dressed. "Thank you doctor. We will transfer any funds you require to manufacture the cure for our planet." He then quickly leaves the lab with Alec quickly chasing after him.

"Kitt wait, this isn't over yet, we'll find the cure for you." Alec yelled out.

"I know, but I'm starting to feel it moving around inside of me, I can't fight it much longer." Kitt sighed and walked away.

Kitt wandered along the catwalks of the assembly home world, suspended kilometers in the air between the buildings, a cool deadly wind blew through the air picking up Kitt's knee length coat. Passing a into a courtyard in the center of a building looking into the setting orangey purple sky of the planet he sat on one of the benches surrounded by green and red bushes. He sat there for nearly an hour when he felt a presence coming up behind him, Kitt quickly jumps to his feet.

"Why have you been following me?" He said seeing a seven and a half foot tall almost wolf looking creature, with blue fur and a pair of hugely long ears protruding out behind his head and a long slender tail flowing off his body and pointed at the end. He wore a long leather trench coat and dark black sunglasses.

The blue creature pointed his three clawed paw at Kitt and grinned. "You are running out of time."

Kitt backed up a bit. "What are you talking about?" Kitt snapped.

"I've been watching you for months Kitt of the Alistair pack and you aren't ready for what is fast approaching you." The figure hissed out.

"And what is approaching huh? Ever since we came back from Durran's planet we've been hearing more and more about shadowy groups moving about the multi-verse building for a war. Hell even the assembly seems to be gearing up for something. Fuck, mind finally letting me in on it!" Kitt growled harshly, not wanting to fuck around any more.

The blue wolf creature smirked and lowered his paw. "Hmmm much faster than Kitt Redwolf I must say. It took him months of prodding to get him to snap like that. Are you ready to hear it all?"

Kitt shrugs and sighed. "I guess I don't have much of a choice."

"True you don't. Well here it is, you weren't given these powers for just shits and giggles, there is a war brewing, not just any war the war to end all wars. You have been chosen to be the champion of the light, when the time comes you must lead the armies of good against the dark, if you fail then what you would call hell will reign over all existence and the next ten thousand years will be a really shitty time to be alive. Get my drift?"

Kitt nodded. "Yeah I get it. If I'm the champion of the light then who is the champion of the dark?"

"You know who it is already."

"Caster..." Kitt balled up his fist. "Where is he?"

"You also know that, where everyone said he couldn't possibly go. The hell verse."

"Figures...who are you?" Kitt said.

"My name is Night and I was once a champion now I serve the light aiding new champions preparing them for their fight. You must hurry, Caster does not yet know of his role but he is vastly growing in power and will soon take his place in the battle." Night said.

"Is that your entire purpose, is just to say those lines or do you help me anyway else. Train me, teach me some trick to win the battle or something?" Kitt asked.

"Nope, that's it, you already know everything you need to know all that's left is to do it. When the battle began come find me there will be much to do." Night said beginning to walk away.

"Wait?! I'm not going to ask how to find you...but I'm just supposed to walk into hell and bam Caster will walk up and say 'hi'?" Kitt yelled.

"Basically...trust me when the champion of the light walked into their dimension it's not a secretive thing. Good luck."

Kitt watched the blue creature walk off into the shadows and then disappear then shook his head. "Alright Caster, lets end this..."

"You've got to be kidding me!!" Alec exclaimed on the bridge of the Blackstar. "Kitt listen to me, we can't enter that universe, it prohibited by the Assembly. We've been working with them for the last two years and you know their stance on jumping to restricted dimensions it's at least life in prison. Plus we have to get back to home as soon as the cure has been replicated."

"I'm not asking for the Blackstar to go in, it's too dangerous we don't know what's inside the universe, I'm going alone." Kitt fired back.

"The crew that came back from there went insane remember all one hundred of them committed suicide."

"I remember Alec, I've read the file on it. I can't tell you how I know but I know he's there, trust me I'll be alright. As soon as we have enough of the cure your orders are to get back to the home verse and use it on our home. I will meet you there." Kitt said firmly without any heir of nervousness or uncertainty.

"How will you get back?" Alec growled lowly.

"I don't know that either but I have to go." Kitt said walking away.

"You're really going to do it aren't you?" Lauren said leaning against the door frame of the captain's cabin as Kitt sat cross legged on the floor meditating.

Kitt didn't even look back. "Yes I am."

"Well in the history of stupid moves I think this ranks right up in the top three, but you've never let us down before." She said walking over and putting her paw on Kitt shoulder getting a small smile from him.

"Thanks Lauren...there's something else you should know." Kitt softly said finally looking up at her.

"What is that Kitt?"

"I don't think it was chance that you were chosen to be apart of this mission, I as well as Alec both sensed it the first time we saw you. We think you have the ability to ascend like we do."

Lauren nodded slowly as if she knew all along. "I can't put my paw on it but after working and fighting along side the both of you for the last two years, I've felt myself change, I've even gone back and started reading the Hun-gar Ess and it's actually starting to make sense."

Kitt closed his eyes again taking a deep breath. "Good, if things go south for this, go to the Alpha, he will be able to instruct you, that is if you want it."

Lauren knelt beside Kitt and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you, for everything."

Kitt looked back curiously at the female wolf as she padded out of cabin.

In the shuttle bay of the Blackstar Kitt is met by his senior staff, Lauren, Shar, Drek and Alec whom stood inside the door of the shuttle itself. "Colonel on deck!" Lauren shouted out as all the officers snapped to attention as Kitt walked down between the two rows.

Kitt walked up to Alec, dressed in a red and black embroidered vest covered by a sleeveless black trench coat with a hood hanging off the back, his ivory handled katana attached to a strap on his back.

"This maybe the last time we will see each other my love." Alec said almost in tears.

"We will see each other again, at the citadel on the home world, I promise you." Kitt responded taking Alec into a tight hug getting it back stronger from Alec.

"Please come home to me." Alec whimpered not letting go.

"I will, as soon as you open the gate way for me be prepared to run, the Assembly security forces will on you in no time." Kitt said.

"We're ready, we've got everything in place. Be careful..." Alec said forcing himself to let go of his mate and walk down the ramp watching as it slowly closed up.

Taking one last look at the shuttle Alec held back the tear and looked to the command staff. "Alright everyone, to your stations lets save our home!"

The crew burst into cheers and rushed out of the bay.

Alec and Lauren strode out onto bridge watching out of the view screen as the slender fighter looking shuttle enters the white inter-dimensional portal. Instantly the communication display went off showing a Gryphon military officer with a sneer on his face.

"Blackstar, we just monitored an unscheduled ID jump from your vessel to restricted verse sixteen. Explain yourselves." He hissed.

"On behalf of the Interstellar Alliance of our universe I thank you for you aid but we really have to be going see ya around..." Alec cockily said before ending the channel.

"Alec, several Assembly interceptors on approach." Shar exclaimed.

Alec looked to Lauren whom took her seat. "Helm bring us about, all ahead full, let's give them a run for their money!"

The four pylon designed structure of the Blackstar pivots on its axis and the massive engines roar to life as its thrust upwards toward two diamond shaped green armored attack ships. "Blackstar, this is your final warning, heed to and prepare to be boarded." The speakers crackled.

"Drek, lock forward batteries onto the engines of the interceptors in our path and disable them." Alec commanded, and a split second later the large yellow beams of particle energy fire out from the Blackstar's main guns slicing into the interceptor's armor like a hot knife through butter and sending them listing off into space.

"Sir, detecting a Tha'kai battle cruiser on approach, it's locking weapons. Brace for impact!" Shar shouted out then the entire Blackstar shudders as several red pulses struck the octagonal armored hull.

"Alec, hull plating down to seventy five percent, we've got power transfer conduits down on decks nine, twelve and twenty, redirecting power. We have to jump, we're not going to last against all these ships." Lauren barked out.

"Confirmed! Helm target ID drive for home and jump as soon as we're clear! Drek, all weapons fire at will try and disable if possible. Keep those fuckers on their knees" Alec growled out as he watches the chaos on the view screen, blue pulses from the Blackstar followed by the yellow streams firing off in every direction carving out their path.

Suddenly the helms man yelled out. "Jump in three....two...one!"

"I don't care what it costs, we need more funding to fortifying or lines of defense. Everyday the Avian's move closer and closer onto our trade routes." The big bulky jet black furred wolf yelled across the room at the room of advisors.

"Senator Earthwalker, there's simply not enough funds for what you suggest, we're still trying to rebuild the fleet after the Dominion war." The lanky lion told the wolf point blank as the chamber doors burst open and four fox generals march in right up the wolf and hand him a data pad, all of them have a wide smile on their faces.

"Gentle furs, I apologize but I must adjourn this meeting until later, there's something I must attend to." The wolf stood up abruptly and rushed out of the room.

Quickly walking down the hall the wolf look back at the generals. "You're sure it's them?"

"Yes sir, it's confirmed the Blackstar jumped back into our space thirty minutes ago and is currently being escorted here as we speak."

"Excellent General. Have research teams on paw as soon as they dock, I want a full work up done of the ship and an analysis of the cure." The wolf said in a hurry.

Watching the massive bulk of the Blackstar coasts the last few meters into the crab like structure of the station as it's locked in place.

"They've been in combat." The black wolf said with his entourage of officers.

"Yes sir, apparently they ran into some trouble on their way out."

"Figures, Kitt and Alec always had the knack for getting into trouble." The wolf said with a grin as the air lock slid open, showing Alec standing in his brown leather flight jacket and blue jeans with Lauren at his side, casually dressed as well.

The wolf walked right up to Alec and saluted him. "Alec long time no see."

"Yeah Tarn, no kidding, we got it!" He exclaimed with a huge smile.

"We'll start off loading the cure ASAP, where's Kitt?" Tarn asked looking for him but not seeing him.

Alec looked to Lauren and sighed. "It's a long story."

Alec told the story walking down the docking ring corridor as one of the lupine officers stopped Lauren in her tracks and pulled her to the side.

"What do you have to report Captain?" he immediately asked.

"Sir, the operation went off without a hitch..." she said not telling him everything.

"I see, I'll expect a full report for you in an hour."

Lauren walked into the darkened briefing room where the Lupine officer stood along with several others. "Interesting report Captain, there were only a half dozen times where you should have completed you secondary objectives and taken control of the mission. Why didn't you?"

"Sirs, I wasn't under the impression the mission was in danger at those times. In fact Colonel Alistair and Drominaz were in complete control the entire time, and it is my belief that you never wanted Kitt or Alec to succeed in the first place." Lauren said proudly and to the point.

"Kitt and Alec is it?" an older brown furred highly decorated wolf said stepping right up to Lauren. "...I believe you objectivity was clouded on this mission, you should have immediately taken control of the ship when Colonel Alistair went off into what was it...?" the wolf flipped through the report. "...a hell universe? Why didn't you?"

"General, the mission was coming to an end and if I may be blunt you were not there, over the last two years I've seen things that you would not believe and it is my belief that Kitt was in more control of the mission than you could ever imagine. Also you should be aware that this clandestine operation has been noted in my full report so if I were you I would prepare to face the consequences." Lauren said.

The group looked at each other then growled at Lauren. "You made a big mistake Captain, if we go down then you will as well."

Lauren nodded. "Sir, I am fully prepared to accept any punishment for the part in this operation. I hope you are."

"He went were?!" Tarn burst out.

"I don't know how else to explain it Tarn. I know it sounds far fetched but seriously, something is happening out there and Kitt is directly tied to it, I think whatever it is, is coming for us, fast and hard."

"We haven't even been able to fully recover from the last one and now we've got to fight a war between good and evil?!"

Alec nodded slowly. "Yeah basically."

Chapter2

Kitt's eyes shot open a piercing white light filled his field of vision; a searing hot pain filled his head as he tried to stand. All he could see was a long white space absolutely void of anything not even lines to tell him where it ended. "Welcome Kitt Alistair. We finally meet." A voice sounded, seeming to come from everywhere.

"Where am I?" Kitt responded back confused.

"You are everywhere, and nowhere. You are between planes of existence."

"How did I get here?" Kitt asked.

"You chose to come here...the path of the Champion is not to be taken lightly it will be up to you to decide the fate of trillions upon trillions of lives. Do you wish to see what you are to fight?"

Kitt looked around and nodded. "Yes show me."

Suddenly the void began to vibrate an seems to dissolved, hitting Kitt with a fierce heat as he saw massive spires of unending rock, rivers of molten magma flowing like water over the infinite expanse of the place. Kitt stood on an out cropping looking down into nothing but an ocean of fire, the sky was a constant swirling massive of sulphuric clouds, crackling with lightning.

Kitt extended his senses outwards nearly being knocked off his feet from the immense dark energy through out the place. Kitt leapt down a few ledges exploring the caves, hearing nothing but soul quivering screams of agony. He came into a large cavern it was difficult to see, rotting corpses laid about while others still alive struggled at their binds, some already having dismembered limbs dangling from the last strands of sinew. Kitt tried not to vomit from the site. "This is what your existence will become if you do not prevail." The voice said in the back of his head.

Kitt growled and pushed on past the cavern into another large expanse but this one was made up of a city, crumbling skyscrapers and the streets ablaze. He spotted a small coyote running for his life from four lead pipe holding demons, for some reason the coyote looked familiar but he couldn't put his finger on it, then it hit him. It was the coyote named Patrick whom he met years ago on the planet Taris, he worked as a double agent for the Lupine government against Kitt but really fell in love, he was killed but Taris security when they closed in.

Kitt's jaw dropped remembering the young pup and how he died in his arms, in a flash Kitt leapt off of the ledge and down onto the street and draws his sword swooping down and slicing one of the demons right in half. The other three stop dead in their tracks turning to Kitt, their eyes blood red, once they may have resembled furs but their scarred half decomposed faces didn't leave much to recognize.

The demon's all lunge at Kitt, whom easily sliced them all down into chunky rotting bits leaving the coyote shaking against a wall.

"Patrick...it's me Kitt! Do you remember me?" Kitt asked only getting a fearful look on his face.

As Kitt examined the coyote closer he saw something that made Kit stumble back, the gapping chest wound left by the high powered sniper rifle round, his ribcage was torn outwards and his internal organs lay dangling in the cavity. "Oh my god..." Kitt recoiled.

"Kitt...it's you really it is...please help me...I have to get out of here!" Patrick pled crawling forward grabbing Kitt's leg, whimpering heavily. "It never ends...please...you have to kill me."

Kitt looked up to the violent sky. "But you're already..."

"You have the power to end his suffering, this is the fate of everyone if the dark wins" The voice said into Kitt's mind.

Kitt nodded and stepped back from Patrick raising his sword in the ceremonial method to decapitate someone and only getting Patrick kneeling down with a smile on his face. "Thank you Kitt...thank you so much."

With one pure stroke Kitt's high polished blade sliced Patrick's skull off his neck and it flopped down on the ground.

Kitt stood there for what seemed as an eternity, looking at the mutilated corpse when he felt a stiff wind blowing past him, he turned to see was looked like a wave, black as space rushing towards him. Kitt pulled up his sword into a defensive position as the wave crasheed down surrounding him it felt like searing fire all around his body.

As it dissipated into the concrete he saw the forms of hundreds if not thousands of black shrouded demons and directly in front of him stood the pale white furred form, of Caster, slightly shorter than Kitt and no where near as well built; he wore a faded and torn black trench coat that extended to his foot paws. "Long time no see Kitt."

Kitt growled as he observed the horde of demons surrounding him. "Yes it has, so these are your new friends huh? What happened to the five hundred ships and all your brethren super soldiers?"

Caster laughed looking to the demons. "They're still here, I made a little deal; their souls for the chance to exact my revenge on existence."

"Revenge on the universe?!" Kitt blurted out. "Do you have any idea what will happen if this place is unleashed? Oh wait fuck it, you don't care. You're just a sick little prick who gets off on misery and destruction."

Caster grinned and nodded. "Yeah, that about sums it up, and don't think your trick about getting me to ascend to over load the super soldier implants will work this time. In fact I should thank you because you set me free, free to be found by the beings in this dimension, free for my true power to grow beyond your wildest dreams."

Kitt sighed and decided that the conversation was going no where and swung his sword up into the air, bringing it down with such a force added with his ki power that the very ground shook followed by a translucent shockwave that ripped through the demons tossing them into the sides of the jagged rock cliffs and building in the city. Then all of a sudden his howls loudly as his golden ascended form rockets outwards. "Enough chit-chat."

"Indeed Kitt." Caster raised a single paw that bet Kitt on.

Kitt's feet lift off the ground as he vaults at the fox sending his paw crashing across his muzzle. Caster flailed backwards a few feet and only laughed with a trickle of crimson red blood dripping down to the ground. "Is that the best you've got? I've been here for three years waiting for you to find me and that is the best you have to offer."

Caster twisted his body and crashed his boot into Kitt's chest and knocked him soaring away through the side of a building. Kitt groaned and huffed as he throws the crumbling pieces of the building outwards with a mighty growl the pieces weighing hundreds of pounds were flung into the air with the greatest of ease.

Dusting off the billowing pulverized concrete, Kitt flew his body back towards Caster coming down no more than a foot from the fox. "I see we're at a bit of a wall here, we are running about even with our power levels and you probably don't know what that means."

Caster snarled and swung his arms out trying to connect with Kitt but only hitting air as the wolf pivoted and twisted his body out of the way. "You are still new to the whole ascended thing. Neither of us can over take the other, neither of us can win." Kitt said spinning around back fisting Caster across the face causing him to sail down to the mud of the street.

Caster swirled his body around tripping Kitt's feet out from under him and leapt upwards placing both his powerful feet into his chest. Kitt back flipped from the blow and gripped down to the ground and lands on his feet again.

Caster grinned. "I think you are mistaken Kitt, you aren't fully aware of exactly what I have become." The white fox balled up his fists as his eyes rolled backwards, around him a ring of fire, then suddenly a massive explosion sent Kitt flying away, as the entire city was ripped up from it's foundations. Kitt hovered in the air watching as Caster's clothes ripped and tore as his body grew bigger and bigger, doubling his size. His eyes flashed with read hot rage as out from his back bursts two of the large dragon type wings made of what looked like falling fire.

Kitt's jaw dropped as he sensed the immense power being thrown out from the creature's body. "Fuck me!" Kitt yelled as he cupped his paws to his side forcing every bit of power he could muster, creating a brilliant huge golden glowing orb with tremendous energy in it. As Caster's vicious glare locks in on Kitt, he released the easily fifty foot sphere.

Just before the massive blast could land Kitt was jerked back into the deafening silence of the white void, his fierce golden aura silently pulsating around him. "I could have ended this!" he yelled out.

"It is not yet time Kitt; you do not understand the task at hand. It is not as simple as destroying your opponent. We know your mind is nearly ready to comprehend the battle but it is still not open to what are the consequences of it. Go now, the one called Night will help you."

Within the blink of an eye Kitt stood in his normal form in front of Alec, Tarn and Lauren as they sat in one of the strategic briefing rooms on the Lupine Home world.

"Hey..." Kitt said softly as the three wolves stared in sheer amazement. Suddenly Kitt simply collapsed to the floor his eyes blankly gazing to the ceiling.

Chapter 3:

"What happened to him?" Tarn asked as he Alec and Lauren look at Kitt through the observation glass in the infirmary, his lifeless body just there, no feeling at all.

"We don't know...there is no physical damage, nor mental damage, he simply isn't there. Although from reports on where he went I'd theorize that his consciousness couldn't handle it and he needs time to figure out what happened." The wolven doctor explained.

"How long until he wakes?" Lauren asked.

"Unknown, he's strong but it's simply out of our range of understanding."

Kitt opened his eyes slowly with a soft groan, he looked around finding himself in a large satin covered bed, surrounded by a very modern and stylish apartment and to the side in an easy chair sat the huge bulky blue wolf looking creature 'Night' thumbing through the Hun-gar Ess.

"Glad to see you could join me." He said.

"You guys sure don't spare any expense, where am I?" Kitt groggily said as he sat up realizing he was naked under the thin sheets.

"Well it comes with the territory. You are in my home, a parallel dimension to your own. It is used as a training ground for the army of the light."

"Okay, I can believe that but, uhm, why am I naked?" Kitt said hugging the blanket around his waist as he sat up.

"Think of it as a rebirth, a symbol that you are to begin again. Plus it's a good way to get your attention. Let's go, there's a lot we have to do."

"Uhm, how about some clothes?" Kitt asked as Night stood and goes to walk out of the room.

"Make them...It's really quite simple..." Night out stretched his arms as his baggy black cargo pants and skin tight muscle shirt seems to illuminate then dissolves into the air showing Kitt every inch of the blue wolf's body then with the same effect a circulating stream of white particles surrounds the outline of a long sleeved hooded top and pants which quickly solidified over his body.

"Damn!" Kitt exclaimed. "You have to teach me that!"

"I told you when I first approached you, the training and skill is already there, now it's only a matter of realizing it. Now c'mon."

Kitt hesitated for a moment then stood up letting the sheet fall away.

"Think of it as if you were going to create a ki blast only use your energy to create your clothing." Night instructed with a little less than obvious grin at Kitt's form.

Kitt concentrated on his task, balling up his fists and took a deep cleansing breath and to his surprise it was easy, over his body a purely black dress suit appeared.

"I told you it was simple." Night responded with a toothy smile.

Alec sat in a silent vigil constantly at Kitt's side, barely eating or sleep. While Lauren and Tarn spend hour after hour battling in Tarn's training room.

"Focus Lauren Focus!!!" Tarn bellowed out. "You have to feel the attacks before they land."

Lauren climbed back to her feet with a groan holding her side. "I don't understand Alpha, how can I just know where your next strike will come from when you're so fast."

Tarn sighed and lowered his fighting stance. "Alright, you remember when you were instructed on how to stalk somebody, you were told in order to be unnoticed you had to anticipate the way the target moved. Apply the same technique, lets start slowly observe my body movements."

Lauren and Tarn extend their left arms locking at the wrists; Tarn slowly began to pace back and forth making Lauren follow his moves. As their forms became more and more complex, Lauren adapted quickly countering blow for blow until the point came with lighting speed, she twisted Tarn's tree trunk like arm around and locked him muzzle to the floor.

"Good!" Tarn chuckled out and with the same speed pulled away and spun to his feet lashing his fist out which is instantly blocked by Lauren. "Very good captain, you're learning. Let's speed things up!" Tarn smirked and lunged forward.

Alec was jarred away by a hand on his shoulder he turned sharply in the uncomfortable hospital chair, seeing an older human male, slightly grey stubbly hair atop his head wearing dark orange robes and a wise look on his face.

"I'm sorry to disturb you. I figured he would be like this." The man said softly looking at Kitt.

Alec blinked a couple times not having the faintest idea who this person was. "How...who...?"

"I am sorry, I am Sakul Kway, Kitt came to my temple on earth to train."

"You're human aren't you? No to be rude, I've just never met one before." Alec said.

The old man nodded. "Yes I am, you must be Alec, Kitt spoke of you often."

"Do you know what's happening to him?" Alec questioned, his eyes locking back on his mate.

"He is caught between life and death; he is being conditioned for the conflict ahead. Kitt's mind and essence is under going the final stages of his ascension. We must hurry if we are to be ready." Kway said.

"Ready for what though, I don't understand what is about to happen. I know it's a war, but I do not understand how we are to fight it." Alec sighed.

"The war will be fought here in this material world. The thing about it is that it's about us as living beings the only thing that will be different is that it's not living beings that we will be fighting, demons are our opponents."

"I'm not surprised about that; I'm grown to just except that this won't be a conventional war. But how are we to combat forces of pure evil energy?" Alec asked.

Kway returned the same sigh. "With heart, courage and steel..."

"Some how I thought you'd say something like that..." Alec responded and taps the COM link button on his wrist band. "Tarn this is Alec, convene the war council we have work to do."

Kitt being led by Night walked out onto a massive glowing white floor outdoors seeing row after row of white robed beings all of them having a set of feathery white wings folded behind their backs all of them made up of every imaginable species, furs, humans and other assorted aliens.

"Champion Alistair, meet your army." Night said gesturing his arm out over the thousands of soldiers.

"My army?" Kitt gasped.

"Yes, yours. All of them have been trained for decades for this one moment where you would arise and lead them in the war. They are at your command, as am I" Night said bowing slight followed by each and every one of the winged beings.

"Night, I don't know how to command an army like this; I don't even know how to fight our enemy."

"Then let's get you acquainted with the enemy." Night said leading Kitt off the field into a smaller room, completely empty. "I wasn't just someone randomly chosen for this task you know..." Night started back fisting Kitt across the room crashing him into a wall.

Kitt grunted as he landed on one knee looking with a harsh glare at the blue wolf as his clothes change into a black and red trimmed martial arts uniform, his arms uncovered showing the massive bicep and forearm muscles. "You were a champion as well; you fought for the other side. I thought there was something different about you."

"That's right...in my day I fought for hell, I slaughtered thousands of innocent souls mercilessly. Question is how you feel about that." Night said with a glare.

Kitt stood up taking several stepped forward right up to the much taller Night. "I've learned over the years that the past, no matter how horrific doesn't necessarily make the person he is today."

"A wise thought but you've put a lot of trust in things you do not understand, how do you know I'm not just tricking you?"

"Instinct basically..." Kitt said just as he sensed Night's energy shift and slid his body out of the way of the massive arms of the wolf as they swept threw the air.

Kitt bent his upper body backwards as Night's leg passed over top of him and followed through, flipping his body backwards hooking his legs in a hard arc, Kitt's feet connecting with Night's jaw line and sending his careening to the floor.

Night summersaults backwards and flipped to his feet crossing his arms as two; three foot long blades began to materialize out of the back of his paws.

Kitt's expression went stone serious seeing the weapons come out of no where and had to react quickly as Night is instantly rushing against him slashing the razor sharp steel blades down at him. Kitt frantically dodged and flipped out of the path, pushing his body to its limits. Night swept one leg out from under Kitt, making him loose balance and is thrust down to his knees barely able to block the next strike, catching Night's wrist before it sliced open his rip cage.

Night pushed down flexing his large muscles as Kitt kept him steadily in place, growling fiercely. "Do it Kitt, you know you have me, stop trying to make your power defeat me and do what you have to do to put me on my ass!" he yelled out.

Kitt inhaled deeply as he starts to over take Night and tossed him away effortlessly igniting his ascended form, the force of the golden aura exploding outwards sent Night reeling into the far wall of the room and dented the wall. Kitt stood up his golden furred form setting in his hard sharp fiery red hair being blown around. Kitt opens a single palm as his aura began to form the outline of a katana blade which manifested quickly and he swung it around into a very aggressive stance.

"About time." Night smirked and launched himself forward.

After what seemed like hours sparring in the room, Kitt and Night retire and find themselves back at Night's apartment, talking the night away.

"You said that the only reason I was not ready for the fight was because I wasn't ready to understand the consequences of it, what did you mean?" Kitt asked softly.

"This isn't your standard fight Kitt; it is not just us versus them. The fight between good and evil has many different levels. You as the champion will be confronted with difficult choices, because in the end it is about our perception about what is good and what is evil..." Night explained, pouring two glasses of a thick red alcohol and passing one of them to Kitt.

"Be seated." Tarn said to the group of fifteen of the highest ranking military officers in the Alliance as well as Alec and Lauren. Tarn looked around the group sitting at the large round oak wood table then gestures to Alec whom stood.

"Thank you all for coming on such short notice. I know I have not been back for very long and I've tried my best to get caught up on everything that's happened in the last two years and I wish it could be under better circumstances that I gather you all here but they aren't. We are on the brink of yet another war..." Alec began and was met by the quiet murmurs of the officers. "...please listen, as we have not much time to get organized. This fight is one that sounds far fetched and more or less absurd but it is very real, in the coming months we will start to see a force unlike anything you've encountered before this force is for lack of better terminology the undead, demons from a forsaken dimension much like the literal definition of hell."

One of the vulpine generals chuckled to himself looking to his colleges. "You've got to be joking me. An army of the dead, what is this going to be the ultimate battle of good and evil?"

Alec's face never wavered from its dead serious glare. "We know for a fact this isn't unheard of, we have detailed records of a conflict of this magnitude occurring about ten thousand years ago."

"And you believe we're heading into another? How can you be sure that this fight is even going to be our own?" another officer asked.

"Because, of how closely the last couple months have matched up with the records of the last war and also in my dealings with the InterVersal Assembly I know they are aware of the onset because of the massive build up of their forces. So something's going to happen and soon." Alec explained.

The vulpine general again looked to his colleges and then to Alec. "So what is your plan of action? How do we fight the undead?"

"Over the last day I've been scanning through the records of the last war and apparently it's not exactly the undead...for these demons to manifest themselves into our existence they're physiology has to become like ours so meaning they can be destroyed. It is my intention to go back out and make contact with the Assembly and ask them for their assistance." Alec explained.

"Didn't you leave on the not so best terms the last time?"

Alec sighed. "I didn't say it was going to be easy. We've outlined tactical plans and probably entrée points for an inter-dimensional gate way as large as they will need to get a sizable force into our universe."

The meeting broke up with a slight uneasiness in the air as Lauren looked to Alec. "I guess we should get ready to go."

Alec shook his head slowly. "No, this time it'll be only I and Master Kway. You need to stay here and continue your training; we'll need all the power we can get."

A day later Alec stood aboard the bridge of the Blackstar surrounded by the bustling crew as they prepare for the jump, Master Kway stood beside Alec slightly overwhelmed by all the people.

Alec adjusted his dress uniform having not worn it in almost three years. "Are you ready Master Kway?"

"As ready as I will ever, I just hope we can convince them." Kway responded.

"Me too" Alec turned his chair to the forward helm station. "Ensign, prepare for ID jump, tactical station, red alert; they probably won't be too happy to see us."

Kitt sat meditating across from Night, both their eyes shut tightly. It was weird, so much time had passed it was getting harder and harder to focus on anything but the battle ahead, everything had begun to blur; Kitt could start to feel his mind changing as if it wasn't contained by his body he could touch any being out there, yet every time he tried to focus on the ones he loved it all came back to Caster in his demonic form.

Kitt's eyes shoot open as he realized he was alone, a cold sweat covered his body. He saw Night coming out of the shower with only a towel wrapped around his waist his fur matted and damp from the water. Kitt couldn't help but letting his eyes roam over the tight muscular body.

"Is everything alright?" Night asked. "You've been meditating for hours."

Kitt nodded and drew his legs up to his chest. "Yes, I can't seem to remember anything before I arrived here, it's like I've been here my whole life."

"What do you think you're forgetting?" Night questioned kneeling next to Kitt.

"I don't know, it's really confusing, I keep getting other people's thoughts mixed up with my own, and it's hard to concentrate." Kitt said.

Night smiled and leaned over kissing Kitt on the cheek. "Don't worry Kitt; everything will become clear with time."

Kitt smiled and turned his head meeting Night's elongated muzzle.

Night cupped his paw behind Kitt's neck pulling him closer, laying over top of the broad chest of Night; both of them passionately exchange kisses.

Kitt held his body up on his paws looking down at the sly and sexy blue wolf grinning wildly. "Oh the benefits of being the champion."

Giving the same grin in return, Night rested his big three clawed paws behind his head. "Indeed..."

The Blackstar roared through the inter-dimensional portal in front of the steel plated planet of the assembly home world. "To Assembly council priority, this is Colonel Alec Drominaz of the ISFA Blackstar." Alec called out over the open communication frequency.

Almost instantly Alec was met with the image of the gryphon creature that they had dealt with through most of the time spent there. "Colonel, how nice to see you again, surrender your vessel and prepare to be boarded." He said quite to the point.

"Listen Lythanal, I know when we left a couple weeks back we didn't leave on such good terms but if you will allow me to explain..." Alec started.

"You know very well that I cannot bend our rules about entering restricted dimensions, I say again surrender your vessel." The gryphon said again.

Alec looked to Kway as he stepped forward. "Sir, if you will...access your historical database and bring up file 62111carnis located in the gold sector of your computer banks; I believe that will give you all the reason to bend the rules."

"I don't know who you are old man but how do you know about Gold sector?" Lythanal asked curiously.

"Please sir, we have very little precious time."

The gryphon looked down at the computer screen on the side of his desk slowly his muzzle turned from doubt to complete seriousness as he looked forward. "Colonel, you are cleared for standard orbit, I will convene the council immediately." He quickly ended the communication.

Alec looked to Kway, very confused. "What did you show him?"

"Everything that is required to know we're serious."

Chapter 4:

Master Kway and Alec stepped out into the center of thousands of politicians all scattered about in a gigantic stadium in the center a round steel table where to primary figures of the Assembly government sat. Lythanal stood to meet them shaking Alec's paw as they approach.

"Colonel Drominaz of the Interstellar Fur Alliance, verse 781" Lythanal announces, his voice booming over the loud speakers.

"Thank you." Alec started looking over at the table. "I am here representing my government on a very grievous matter. I believe you all are aware of the war that is brewing and I believe it will be our only chance to survive it if we all work together."

"What do you mean?" The Chancellor of the entire assembly stated.

"I've watched your military forces gathering for over two years, I know you know something is coming" Alec said then looked back to Kway.

"If Lythanal could play the file I've requested I think you will all know what we are talking about." Kway said looking at the Gryphon whom goes to a computer pad at the edge of the table.

With a quick flip of light the image of Kitt Redwolf, appeared in a huge projection in the center of the stadium, he stood there in the ancient Lupine military uniform. "Ladies and Gentlemen of the Inter-Dimensional Assembly, I am Fleet General Kitt Redwolf..." The recording began. "...it has been long since I have stood before this Assembly and I trust not much has changed, some of you will directly remember me and some of you will not. If you are seeing this recording then the time has come and the army of the dark is moving again. I beseech you to listen to who ever has brought you this recording, and join forces to combat this evil. I thank you all and I wish you all luck in this war..." The recording flickered and dissolved back into the projector leaving the entire room dead silent.

The Chancellor stood up looking to his advisors, nobody saying a word. "Colonel Drominaz...you have our support..."

Alec and Kway walked triumphantly out of the central government building followed by several military officers when Alec stopped dead in his tracks as the sky suddenly darkened and streaks of lighting coursed down, striking the sides of the glass buildings.

"Kway, get down..." Alec said unbuttoning his uniform top and tossing the jacket to the side, leaving him only wearing his pants and tank top.

Standing along the wide platform of the building, Alec spoted four spindly lanky, torn black robed figures stalking forward, each one of them carried a jagged bladed scimitar like swords. Alec balled up his fist tensing his arms. From the side a squad of Assembly security burst out shouting for the figures to halt, getting only a silent uncaring glare from one of them as the platform started to shake and the steel around the squad started to buckle and the uplifts skewering three of them on the two foot girders the others are blown away by an intense energy blast sending the last remaining soldiers tumbling the ten kilometers to the bottom of the city.

Alec growled and began to step forward; the four figures that up close look like they might have been wolves at one time, mutilated and degraded muzzles, they spread out surrounding the pure snow white furred Alec. They stood there for no more than a second before they unleashed a series of vicious attacks which Alec narrowly navigated between, evading the slashes and jabs from each of the four deadly blades.

Flipping up in the air, Alec quickly snapped a strong ki bolt that blasts a deep pothole in the steel of the platform the demons leapt out of the explosion range and Alec landed hard on the steel.

"Colonel, we've got a problem, multiple jump points forming and we've got several incoming hostiles. Assembly attack ships are already closing, please advise." An officer on the Blackstar said into Alec ear piece microphone.

Alec grabbed the wrist of one of the demons and shoved his boot into his side and then blasted him away with a powerful ki wave. "Confirmed Blackstar..." Alec panted. "Coordinate with Assembly command and aid in the fight, prepare for ID jump." Alec turned just as the moment one of the jagged blades slid through his thin shirt and sliced into his body causing him to yelp out in pain.

"Bitch!!" Alec yelled out and grabbed the bare sword and twisted it around ramming it through the rub cage of the demon. Alec pulled hard on the sword ripping it back out of the lifeless body of the demon then instantly swinging the blade around quickly executing the remaining three demons.

Alec looked up from the diced demons as through the clouds hundreds of bright burning balled of fire begin raining down upon the city, crashing through the tall building and sending shards of metal and glass on to the populous trying to escape the chaos.

"Fuck!" Alec yelped out as he's forces to leap to the side and into the air as one of the rocks seared the walk way in half. Alec barely has time to react seeing Master Kway gripping for dear life a steel rod sticking out from the side of the remains of the walk way. "Hold on!"

"No! Get out of here you must get back to our universe you and Kitt are our only hope." Kway shouted out.

Alec growled and gasped as he saw the old human let go of the rod and fall along the side of the building only to be crushed as a molten fire ball slammed through the building and into him followed by the entire building toppling over upon it self. "NOooooooooo!!!" Alec yelled out and turned having only a second to put his paws forward to launch a huge ki blast to vaporize a fire ball that was coming right for him.

The shuttle rocketed off the ground, revealing the scene of the entire planet being pummeled to death. As Alec cleared the planet he saw the intense fleet battle, the Assembly fleet being decimated but odd looking ships nearly pitch black which resembled a cross between a sea crab and a spider, with sharp spines protruding from their hulls.

Quickly Alec docked with the Blackstar as several powerful blasts rock the battleship. "Shar report!" Alec shouted out over the calamity on the bridge.

"Alec, hull plating down to forty percent, we've lost two starboard interceptor guns and tracking hull breeches on decks 17,18 and 31. We have to get out of here." The silver fox yipped.

Alec took his seat in the command chair and opened a communication channel. "Assembly fleet command, this is the Blackstar we need to withdraw.

"Confirmed Blackstar, return to your universe we will follow as soon as possible."

Alec nodded to the helmsman as he controlled the huge ship through several defensive maneuvers. "Prepare for ID jump!" Alec ordered.

The white vortex blasted open but just before the Blackstar could make it, a big blood red energy beam struck the ship cutting a huge hole right through the thick armor plating. The entire bridge exploded in a rain storm of sparks; only by sheer momentum did the 'x' shaped ship coast through the portal.

Kitt jolted up in bed, startling Night from his contented slumber.

"What is it Kitt?" Night asked putting his paw on Kitt's back.

"Something happened..." Kitt panted in a cold sweat.

"What did you sense?"

"A battle with the dark, somewhere out there..."

"Anything else?"

"I don't know, I felt someone in pain, I don't know who he was." Kitt responded.

"It will be alright, you're almost ready." Night comforted with a soft kiss on the cheek then climbed out of the bed still completely naked.

"Where are you going?" Kitt asked.

"Just for a walk, I'll be back." Night said as he materialized a pair of jeans and a t-shirt over his body.

Night padded out on to a landing that over looked the greenest of rolling hills. He waited a few moments before someone approaches from behind.

"Does he know yet?" The voice softly said.

"Of course not, what do you think I am? New or some shit?" Night sarcastically responded.

"Not at all, Caster is almost ready..."

Night turned around to see a lanky six foot tall cloaked figure with no discernable facial features.

"You're a fucking prick you know. The fates will never let you get away with this." Night responded.

"You leave them to me, just do as you're told and maybe I might release you from this pathetic existence." The figure responded.

"You're going against the rules...you could destroy everything." Night hissed but his ears perk quickly up then turns to see Kitt walking up.

"Who were you talking to?"

"No one Kitt...are you ready to continue?" Night quickly changed the subject.

The bridge was pitch black only the flickering of some of the monitors and the random sparks from torn wiring gave light. Alec grunted as he pushed his body up off the floor. "Shar, Drek, is everyone alright?!" he coughed out.

"Yeah Alec, we're in one piece." Drek called out as he helped Shar to her feet.

"System's check." Alec said stumbling to one of the computers.

"Weapons down." Drek reported.

"Helm and communication inoperable..." Shar sighed.

"Navigation is out as well." Alec said slamming his fists down on the flicking control panel. "Okay, Drek see if the main corridor is clear and start searching for survivors, Shar try and get communications online. I'll go to engineering and see if we can get moving."

The panther and fox, along with the two other bridge officer's still alive nod and head out.

Alec huffed as he wrenched open the massive pressure door that separated the engineering section from the rest of the ship in the event of an emergency. Carefully negotiating the debris Alec locates several of the crew still alive and tells them where to go, then turned to the core of the ship, a clear armored glass tube that surrounded a sphere of golden discs all bolted together enclosed in rings which normally would be spinning but were stone still.

Alec quickly found a functioning terminal seeing the report and pressed the com button on his wrist unit. "Shar, it's bad down here, but the core is intact."

"Well that's good news." Shar responded.

"Except for the fact the magnetic stabilizer rings aren't functioning. If we don't get them rotating, the quantum singularity will rupture and vaporize us." Alec sighed.

"Joy...I'll get started on reinitiating the stabilization protocols." Shar said. "You need to get to power relay forty seven omega and jump start it though."

"I'm on it!"

"Alpha, inter-dimensional gateway detected in orbit." A voice called out over the intercom system in Tarn's training room.

"Confirmed, we'll be at command and control." Tarn responded, looking at Lauren.

The pair took off out of the white expanse of the training room and quickly arrived at the Lupine space command building, lined with holographic displays showing images of the ships around the planet, in one of them the picture of whole planet with a rotating cone representing the portal.

"Has any ships come through yet?" Tarn asked.

"Negative Alpha, we don't believe it's the Blackstar though, the energy readings are way too sophisticated." One of the officers reported.

The portal pulsed as a series of vessels emerge followed by more and more.

"Incoming hail." The wolf said putting it on the speakers.

"Interstellar Fur Alliance, this is Assembly tactical fleet seven, we've come upon request of Colonel Alec Drominaz."

Tarn smiled. "Sweet..." he ordered one of the officers to open a channel. "Fleet seven, this is Tarn of Earthwalker, Alpha of the lupine people and acting President of the Alliance, welcome.

"Thank you Mr. President, we offer our services to you in the up coming fight."

"Excellent, please come down planet side, we have much to discuss." Tarn said but hmmms to himself. "Commander, where is the Blackstar?"

"Sir? Last transmission we had with the Blackstar she was heading back to this universe, she has not returned yet?"

"No she hasn't..." Tarn looked to Lauren whom rushed off to start looking for the Blackstar.

Alec leapt down one of the service tunnels passed some ruptured pipes venting gas. "Shar! I'm almost at the access port, how are we doing for time?"

"You've got five minutes until we have a critical breech." Shar urgently barked.

"Shit!" Alec yipped leaping over a pile of broken panels and tubes.

Alec reached a small computer console next to a panel of plastic glowing computer chips. "Alright, I'm here, walk me through it Shar."

"Okay, first, access the protocols for engine restart.." Shar explained as Alec listened to every word typing quickly on the keyboard.

"The system's all fucked up, the protocols aren't functioning!"

"Alright, damn, try initiating the engine test program, let's see if we can trick the computer into thinking we're starting the core for the first time." Shar said quickly.

Alec smiled briefly as the monitor flashed to life and a series of numbers and commanded scroll by. "Nice, start up procedures begun. Now what?"

"Now you have to replace the jumpers chip to configuration nine, there should be schematics on the console, hurry you only have two minutes!"

Alec looked over the image of the panel and quickly began ordering the plastic chips.

The entire ship began to creek and shudder as the large steel sphere began to emit beams of white light.

"Forty-five seconds Alec, the core is going critical!" Shar yelled.

"Fuck!" Alec grumbled getting the last chip in place and slamming the 'enter' key, but nothing happens. Alec stepped back a moment. "Work you piece of shit!" he snarls, kicking the panel door closed, suddenly the monitor flashed again reading 'Engine test begun.' The golden steel rings creek as the slowly move around building up momentum. "Shar! Core stabilization field at thirty percent and rising, we're in the clear." Alec sighed in relief.

Kitt sat alone in a beautiful garden letting the warm sun soak into his dark fur, his mind drifting to the ends of existence, he couldn't help but focus on a specific region of space but couldn't figure out why; something was so familiar. Suddenly it clicking, Kitt heard a voice calling to him through a mist. Kitt's eyes burst open. "Alec!"

Kitt stood sharply up and with his new found abilities he teleported right in front of Night as he stood in the shower, the steamy water pouring over his blue fur covered sculpted body. "How long have I been gone?!"

Night turned around slowly with a grin on his muzzle. "Gone from where?"

"I know you've done something to me, I want to know why!" Kitt snapped.

"Calm down hon... I haven't done anything." Night said stroking the back of his paw down the side of Kitt's muzzle only to have it thrust away.

"Don't' touch me, I can't believe I was so blind. And to think I actually enjoyed what we did." Kitt snarled.

"Okay you want to know?" Night started. "You aren't what you used to be, the Assembly doctor even said you physiology wasn't like your species. You are a champion you must give up everything you were, cuz in the end you aren't even a part of your world anymore."

"Fuck that! I still love Alec and I'll be dammed if I'm giving that up. Now return me to my universe."

"It's not that simple, the rules of the game have changed, if you go back now, the virus that infects your physical body with hyper-accelerate and you will die."

Kitt balled up his fists. "So what's the point of me even being here? The battle is being fought out there."

"You have to wait for the right moment to return, it will take only a couple hours for the virus to kill you."

"So I'm stuck here, just watching everyone get slaughtered?"

"Unfortunately yes Kitt. I was only trying to make it easier on you by clouding your memory." Night sighed.

Kitt nodded sensing that he wasn't getting the whole truth but he never got it any way so he just walked away.

Chapter 5:

The battered and scared ruins of the Blackstar drifted helplessly through the black void of space, Alec, Shar and Drek along with the hundred or so survivors they could find sit in one of the mess halls they turned into a make shift command center.

"So where are we?" Alec asked as he helped put a splint on an injured deer's leg.

Shar humms to her self as she tried to make sense of the static riddled display. "Best guess is somewhere in our galaxy, thankfully but way beyond mapped space. I'm not sure yet but it looked like there maybe some sort of ancient hyperspace network in this region.

"Alright, I want jump engines online in an hour.

Tarn sat across from the Admiral of the Assembly tactical fleet as he briefed him on the enemy.

"What I don't get is if this is a force from hell, why are they using conventional weapons, why wouldn't they just blow through us with some sort of magical plague or something like that?" Tarn asked.

"We don't know, for some unknown reason they have to adapt to our methods of combat." The gryphon said. "That's really not the issue right now though, we need to begin mobilizing and formulating a strategy. We do know that they cannot make inter dimensional jump points of their own, sensor scans of the attack on our capitol seem to indicate energy patters that harness and require a massive nexus of energies such as black holes or quantum junctures which are natural energies such as wind that collects in a corner of a street. We have taken detailed scans and have determined the presence of only one such point within striking distance of your Alliance and it is right in orbit of this planet."

Tarn looked to his advisors and nodded. "Well at least we know where the battle will be held. I will start organizing the defense immediately."

Lauren sat in a steel chair next to the bed where Kitt's body lay, her eyes closed in a deep meditation, desperately searching for her commanding officer and her friend but even with her new skills she could not locate him. "Damn you Kitt, where are you when I need you." She said aloud and then sensed Tarn standing at the door way.

"What did you say Captain?" Tarn asked.

"Nothing Alpha..." Lauren said quickly.

"You've been sitting here for over three hours; you care for him deeply don't you?" Tarn said putting his large paw on her shoulder.

"What? No sir, I don't I mean I do but not in the way you mean...we could just really use his help." Lauren responded trying to find the words and not matching her eyes to Tarn's.

"If you really want to have the abilities he does you must let go, nothing can be suppressed..."

"I don't know why I love him..." Lauren sighed. "...I know I can't have him but with working for him for the passed four years and gone through what we have...he's put his life on the line for me and the crew countless times. Now the one time he needs us we can't help him." Lauren said in a flood of emotion.

"I see, there has to be more though, your feelings run deeper than but you don't have to confess them to me. Just know that he is strong, stronger than anything I've seen before, he'll make it through. Now how about we carryon on with your preparations, there's not much time." Tarn said comfortingly.

Alec lied underneath one of the consoles on the bridge of the Blackstar or rather what was left of it, trying to re wire the computer "How about now?"

The computer monitors all over the bridge flicker, several broken panels spark as power was restored; the lights flashing on and off for a moment then become stable.

"We're in business!" Drek exclaimed. "Guidance, jump engines and communications all coming on line."

"Alright, lets see if we can get this bucket of bolts moving." Alec said pulling himself out from under the console and dusting himself off. The limping Blackstar creeks forward as the two functioning engines burst to life.

Kitt grunted as he zipped along the hilly green grass terrain trying to escape the serene paradise prison. His slender midnight blue grey form rounded a bend only to nearly slam head long into Night whom floats down in Kitt's path.

"Where are you going?" Night asked coyly.

"I'm getting back to my mate, step aside." Kitt said calmly.

"And how do you propose to do that?" Night fired back, crossing his bulky arms, only dressed in a muscle shirt and baggy cargo pants.

"I can sense the boundaries of this place, I can break through them."

"I'm afraid I can't let you do that, it's not time yet."

Kitt drifted down to the ground his thigh length leather coat blowing in the warm breeze. "I'm tried of you people dictating when my time is, I'm going to help Alec and if you want to keep my here then you'd better put your fist up." Kitt said taking a step back.

Night sighed and shrugged, lowering himself down to the grass. "I know there's no changing your mind..." Suddenly a fierce cyclone of wind whipped up around the blue furred wolf as his body grew, his muscles growing almost doubling in size, Night's eyes burning red and his hair becoming a thick mane of shinny black spikes.

Kitt took a step or two backwards and gasped at the sensation of Night's power.

Night hissed and quick as lightning lurched forward sending a punch that collided with the scrawny in comparison wolf, casting him along the ground digging a deep trench into the ground and Kitt slammed into a rock out crop causing it to collapse on top of him. Standing there in the warm wind Night waited as the crumbling mounds of rock along with the very ground began to shake then pure white beams of light shoot out from the spaces the over ten ton boulders lift up on their own levitating by Kitt's energy, he stood, his body clad in a light grey muscle shirt and black pants; he howled out as the boulders are cast towards the hulking Night. He barely had time to flinch, spinning around with one leg that shattered the boulders to dust.

Kitt stared down Night as a heavy pulsating white flame surrounds his body, his hard ripped biceps tensed; he whipped his arms forward firing off two powerful energy balls, which impact at Night's feet and exploded gutting a five meter diameter hole into the ground.

Appearing behind Kitt, Night batted the grey wolf across the back. Kitt yelped as he tumbled to the ground catching the grass with his paws and flipped himself over onto his feet as Night was right there launching his clenched fists out. Kitt expertly deflected the attacks away, dipping down to his knees and sweeping his legs out one after another; Night simply stepped over them but didn't see the final movement of the set as Kitt braced one paw on the ground and thrust his leg into the bright blue wolf's chest sending him stumbling a few stepped back followed by and invisible concussion wave which puts a dent into the field of grass.

Night shook his muzzle rolling backwards to avoid Kitt's foot paw as it crashes down, Night vaulted into the air and soars away with Kitt in hot pursuit.

"Why is it so important that I say here?!" Kitt yelled out as the two wolves flew into the sunny sky.

"This is the way it's been done for hundreds of centuries, who do you think you are to change things?!" Night said suddenly coming to a dead stop and casting a series of energy shots as Kitt twists and flips around avoiding each red bolt then soaring right passed Night by a foot before swinging his powerful leg around only to have it caught in Night's paw then is sharply pulls down towards the ground.

The grass fields rushed up quickly as Night whipped Kitt's body down the rest of the way but Kitt reversed the toss at the last second; Night yelped as he felt Kitt forcing his body down in the blink of an eye colliding into the field, the sheer force of the impact collapsing the earth into a half kilometer bowl.

"I thought I was the champion, I though it was my choices that will win or loose the battle..." Kitt growled as his ki peeked and his golden aura flared out, his fur turning a shinning gold, his hair becoming thicker and spiking out in a fiery red color, he outstretched his paw creating two brilliant blue ball of swirling immense energy. With a loud yell Kitt brought his paws together the two spheres connecting and casting out a four meter wide single ball of energy that zoomed down into the crater. When it detonated the initial flash could be seen for miles followed by a tremendous shockwave that ripped the earth up and instantly vaporized it. The dust slowly settles showing a three kilometers of former lush green plains turned to a clean cut waste land and the epicenter of the explosion where Night had been pushed even further down leaving a hole which appeared to lead into an underground cave system.

Kitt rushed down into the caves standing in the light from the gapping holes his aura pulsating with a heavy bass thump. "Where in the rules does it say you are to try and kill me huh? Although if the conversation with your little friends is an indication. I don't think there are any rules this time." Kitt barked into the echoing darkness only having a second before Night leapt into the light locking both into a vicious melee, both wolves turning and pivoting, swaying their limbs out in an attempt to hit the other.

"You don't understand shit!" Night panted his fur matted with sweat and dirty.

"Bullshit, I want to know what's going on!" Kitt said as they leap up out of the hole, Kitt with barely a scratch on him.

"You know for a fact Caster is nothing to you now, you could take him without breaking a sweat." You're real problem is named Gabriel." Night called out.

"Was he a champion of hell like you?" Kitt asked.

"No, he's a fate and a nasty one, he's going to use your fight with Caster to enter our plane of existence. If he does, what would happen if the Dark would win, would be like a pleasant blowjob." Night yelled out letting his charged up form fade away to his lathe sleek normal body.

Kitt let his ascended form drop a moment later. "Why don't the fates stop him?"

"They can't, he isn't just a fate, and he was the first, the most powerful. I only helped him in the hopes you can stop him, it's also why I've tried to keep you here, I'm trying to bide us some time."

"For what?" Kitt asked.

"Until you and Alec are ready to take him on." Night sighed.

Five days of sluggish travel through hyperspace, Alec had barely slept as he tried to keep his ship in one piece. He sat on the table with his command staff, Shar and Drek. "Have we crossed into fur space yet?"

"Not yet, we're still six days out from any useable communication relay." Shar sighed running her paw along her dirty muzzle.

"Great, any luck getting engine four and six online?" Alec asked.

The big purple panther shook his head solemnly. "Negative, the fuel injector are two badly damaged, we could try and start them up but they'd probably blow up in our faces."

"Alright, slow and steady wins the race I guess...or at least doesn't get you vaporized." Alec tried to joke.

A knock at the door caused them all the turn. "Excuse me sirs...long range sensors are detecting something strange in hyperspace." One of the vulpine crewmen said.

The three walked out onto the bridge, Shar immediately taking up the sensor station or what was left of it.

"We didn't know what to make of this, at first glance it appears to be normal hyperspace noise but we ran it through several filters and it almost looked like something is folding a pocket of hyperspace over on itself."

"I agree Alec, I don't know how though, I've never seen anything like this before." Shar confirmed.

Alec scratched his chin fur and extended his senses out into the pocket and was nearly knocked off his feet, Drek caught him and held him up by his shoulders.

"What is it?!" Drek exclaimed as the crew all jumped up.

"It's them...they've made it into our universe. How fast are they moving?" Alec panted holding his head.

"Roughly fifty AU an hour, if it is them, they'll reach the Alliance worlds in four days." Shar said coldly.

"Remember what I said about slow and steady winning the race?" Alec said getting nodded from Drek and Shar already knowing what Alec was going to say. "Bring all engines online and get us to the Lupine home world!"

The space around the Lupine home world seemed like an impenetrable wall of war ships, both Assembly and Alliance, over twenty thousand ships all poised to strike. Tarn and Lauren remained locked in the training room, darting along the expanse at supersonic speeds, dashing in quick melees. Tarn couldn't help but be amazed, it took Kitt and himself months and years to be able to do what Lauren had done in a few short weeks.

Lauren growled and bared her teeth as she pushed off her feet doing a perfect gymnastic front flip over Tarn's head, swinging out a ki bolt right to his back, knocking him to the hard floor as Lauren lands softly down on one knee.

Tarn picked himself up and dusted himself off. "Where the hell did you learn that?"

"I saw Kitt pulls that one off last year when we got into some trouble." She responded.

With a loud urgent beep the intercom in the room goes off. "Alpha! Please report to communication immediately.

"Sir, we just received a message from the Blackstar. It's hazy but the security lacing is correct it's them." The major quickly rambled off.

"Lets hear it!!" Tarn exclaimed.

"To Lupine command, this is Colonel Alec Drominaz, code gold priority, they're on the move..." heavy static clouded the transmission but is quickly corrected. "...say again, enemy force on approach from hyperspace beacon, feline kappa niner three six; ETA three days." Alec's distorted voice called out.

"Send a reply, whether they'll get it or not..." Tarn ordered quickly. "Confirmed Blackstar, your message was received, we'll be ready, get here as soon as possible." Tarn said looking at Lauren as she nodded and turned around heading off to ready the forces.

Kitt sat in Night's home, meditating seeing the moving demon army but still couldn't find Alec specifically. "Why can't I see him?" Kitt asked knowing Night isn't far away.

"I don't know, I can't sense him either." Night sighed.

"He's still alive, I know it. I have to go back..." Kitt said.

"You know what it will cost you..." Night replied looking out the window.

Kitt looked up, opening his eyes to Night's back as he turned looking him dead in the eyes and for the first time without worry, doubt or hesitation; the task at paw was like a window onto what had to be done.

Night nodded in acknowledgment. "Alright I'll make the preparations."

The entire Lupine home world was a bustle of activity as the populous was evacuated before the battle leaving only the fighting forces on the planet.

Tarn, Lauren and the commanders stood in a briefing room rattling off status reports. "Okay people listen up, long range scans have confirmed the movement of a massive fleet heading out way, they will be able to jump into our space in seventeen hours. With current Intel on their technology they will only have one point to jump and be able to put ground forces on site which is fifty kilometers north of capitol on the timbre planes. We will organize both fleet and ground detachments to hit both at the same time. Lauren..." Tarn explained before gesturing to the female wolf.

"Thank you Alpha, the only thing which we are unsure of is this..." The holographic display shifted, showing an image of what looked like a purple and black swirling storm cloud and at the tip of it a purple metallic octagonal box. "...from analysis this is bigger than the entire home world, we're guessing it's some sort of planet killer device. We must not allow that to get anywhere near the home world. Any questions?" Lauren looked around only seeing stone cold dedication to the fight and she responded with a confident smile. "Good...let's get to it then." Lauren barked.

The room emptied leaving Lauren leafing through photos of the planet killer. "

"He'll be here..." Tarn said.

"I know, he has a knack for being fashionably late." Lauren responded nervously.

"I want you to go and get some rest." Tarn ordered.

"I can't Alpha, we've got too much to do, plus I have to keep training."

"Understood but you've been up for four days, I'm not giving you an option..."

Lauren backed down and nodded, yawning a bit. "Yes Alpha as you wish."

CHAPTER 6:

Tarn and Lauren stood in their combat uniforms, black fatigue pants with white and gold armored vests. The long open field covered by column after column of Alliance and Assembly ground forces, troops, tanks and tall mechanized armored suits all holding their tight patterns awaiting the demon army. Dark storm clouds rolled in over the tall mountains of the Lupine home world, followed by a stiff uneasy wind.

"They're coming" Lauren said her hair tied tightly back as the entire army saw what looked like a disc of light suddenly form in the air followed by a bright flash as the disc ripped open over the sky dropping in a mass of black robed demons all formed to look like the rotting corpses of former furs. The sound of the painful moans and fierce growled echoed loudly.

The armies faced down against each other, then out of the void in the air the slim white furred form of the fox Caster floated down, resting upon the grass. "You know you have no chance of winning!" Caster yelled out to Tarn and Lauren. "You're champion isn't hear and I have the entire army of hell behind me."

Tarn bared his teeth, sensing the already loosing space battle going on in orbit and the massive planet killer cloud approaching. "That may be but we're still going to mop the fucking planet with your sorry ass Caster!" he barked as he raised his paw signaling the artillery batteries along the cliff sides to fire. Loud cracks almost like thunder rang over the land as the massively barreled weapons launched their volleys of high explosive rounds into the demon ranks, setting off patterns of billowing fire balls and casting dirt and rock high into the air.

"Tank batteries open fire; particle projectors put them on their knees!" Lauren snarled into her microphone, followed by the booming of tank barrels recoiling after firing their loads and the high pitched tone of the particle generators charging up before raking the demons with yellow streams of charged atoms.

The barrage of weapons fire stopped with one command from Tarn as he surveyed the damage, hundreds and thousands of rotting corpses laid strewn about the land but still thousands more still stood poised to rush and Caster still in front.

"Guess it's time to get bloody." Tarn said as he and Lauren inhaled sharply both up them kicking up their energies, Tarn quickly ascended into his bulky huge super being form with his rippling muscles and sharply pointed head fur, his eyes a fiery red color and Lauren with her slender female form but still quite defined a heavy blue aura whipping around her body.

Caster grinned from across the field and didn't even lift a paw as his army began charging across the field towards the Alliance army which also sends then into a fury of firing off every weapon they had tearing huge gapping trenches and holes into the scenery and taking out ten to a hundred demons at a time but still more rushed forward.

The demon army quickly closed the distance and collided with the Alliance forces sending every solider into action firing off in every which way as the demons with their horrifically designed swords, axes, knives and everything else; ripping the flimsy mortals to pieces in gushes of blood which quickly pour out and stain the once green grass.

Tarn and Lauren quickly vault into the action. Lauren soared down into a group of demons as they swarm one of the armored tanks; she growled as her foot whipped across the face of one of them casting him into the air while she forced two blue ki bolts into the chest of another, tearing him in half.

Tarn snarled as he found Caster floating above the chaos smiling, he thrust himself forward and tackled the fox across the back, shoving him down into the ground. "Let's get it on bitch." He howled.

Caster easily picked himself up, dusting his torn trench coat off and snickered to Tarn. "You really think you can even come close to laying one of your feeble little paws on me?"

Tarn stayed a couple meters in the air his golden aura flaring aggressively around his body, not saying a single word.

"Awww, no sarcastic remarks or jokes. I guess only Kitt likes to play like that." Caster leapt up to Tarn and slammed his fist across his muzzle but before he can be tossed away Caster grabs his leg and swung him around tossing him along the ground. Tarn grunted and rolled over feeling intense pain from Caster's hit but doesn't have time to think about it much as he's forced to roll away before the fox's feet came crashing down upon him.

Bursting to life Kitt's body convulsed in the medical bed thrusting up into a sitting position. The doctors quickly came rushing in with in a mere second, throwing a thousand questions at him. Kitt simply blinked and stood up. "I have to go."

"Colonel Alistair aren't you going to want some clothes and weapons?" One of the doctors asked.

Kitt looked back and shook his head. "I have no need for them." He turned away and walked out the door, his body glowing as he created a black suit over his body with a knee length light jacket over top. Walking right out of the base he was bombarded with the mental flashes of the battle going on in orbit and on the ground and looked up into the sky suddenly lifting off his feet and blasting into the air.

Tarn's body limply collapsed against the side of a tank, the deafening sound of his army being slaughtered flooding his ears; blood trickled down his muzzle as his ascended form shudders and phases back to his normal one due to his bottoming out power level. He looked defiantly at Caster as he walked forward towards him.

"Why persist? You have no hope in winning just give up, there's nothing you can do, and you've lost." Caster mockingly said, batting Tarn across the chest knocking him to the ground.

"I will fight you with my last breath!" Tarn exclaimed barely climbing back to his feet.

Caster raised his paw for the one final strike when a hard energy blast struck him on the back sending him through the side of a destroyed armored suit. He looked up seeing the panting muddy form of Lauren hanging in the air her hair ratted and hanging in her face.

"We're not done yet Caster!" She yelled and cupped her paws at her side generating a huge ball of blue energy there. Caster grinned and stood up awaiting the attack. Lauren howled out as the ball emitted streams of pure light around then she shoved her paws down casting the massive beam down on the fox, it quickly enveloped him creating a huge energy explosion that carved out a six meter creator into the ground and Caster floating there above it not even scratched.

The white fox grinned and raised his paw, using his telekinetic abilities he pulled Lauren forward with a yelp and gripped her by the throat. "Silly little wolf, you can't even ascend what made you think that an attack like that would harm me?"

Lauren squirmed at the grip, choking as her airway was compressed. Tarn wanted to help but couldn't even move his body. Caster was about to snap Lauren's neck like a twig but suddenly dropped her and turned away, the entire demon army stopped dead in its tracks and flew to the edge of the battle zone.

The Alliance army nearly completely obliterated, look around at the demons wonder what's going on when out of no where a heavy boom thunder like sound is heard off in the distance, then like a jet plane, the black form of Kitt came rocketing in and he soared down right in front of Caster.

"It is time..." he simply said in a stone cold tone.

Caster smiled. "Oh I agree, we've been apart for far to long."

"There's something else you should be aware of...this fight isn't about the light or the dark anymore." Kitt said.

"Oh and what is it about?"

"The fates are using us to enter our plane of existence, they want to rule us." Kitt said never budging as Caster growled and paced around him.

"How do you know that? Our fight has gone on for millions of years there's nothing different about this one." Caster said.

Lauren crawled over to Tarn and helps him to his feet, looking at the completely changed Kitt, she could now sense his power and it was incredible yet peaceful he looked as if his power had permeated every cell in his body and was radiating a white light.

"I'm not here to change your mind about fighting, we both know very well it has to end here, I just thought you should know that you are the target to be used. Now please let us get this over with." Kitt said.

Quickly both armies moved to either ends of the smoking battle ground, Kitt at one end of it in front of what is left of his army and Caster at the other with his. Kitt turned to Tarn and Lauren as she held Tarn up. "Sorry I'm late." Kitt said wincing in pain as he clutched his chest.

Lauren leaned Tarn against a truck and grabbed Kitt quickly. "What's wrong?!"

"It's the virus, when I re-entered my body it accelerated it, I don't have much time..." Kitt said panting a bit.

"You can't die on me Kitt, I won't let you!" she whimpered out.

Kitt looked up at her and stroked the back of his paw against her cheek. "Don't worry it'll be alright, just be strong."

"I love you Kitt!" she cried out hugging him tightly.

"I know Lauren...I know..." He whispered and lets her go turning back to the task at hand.

Darkness set over the planet as if it were being wrapped in a shroud, the planet killer ship had gotten through the fleet and was wrapping itself over the world.

Kitt looked to the sky then to Caster balling up his fist and cracking his neck then with a burst of intense energy both Caster and Kitt charge at each other, clashing in the middle of the battle ground, Kitt whipped his fist out and cracking it across Caster's muzzle. Caster reeling from the attack spun around swinging his leg but passed right over Kitt as he bends his body backwards. The two exchange quick punches and kicks for almost a minute solid before the both wind up at the same time, both fists colliding causing a massive earthquake shockwave to rush outwards as the two slim figures are cast away from each other.

Kitt and Caster land skidding to a halt facing each other on one knee. Neither one even phased by it. Caster sneered and lifted up the carcass of a tank with his telekinetics and launched it at Kitt, whom responded by stopping it with the same technique and tossed it to the side with ease.

The midnight blue grey wolf leapt up into the air, thrusting his arms to his side then quickly down to Caster riddling the ground with small explosive ki bolt, making him flip and dodge again and again. As the last one hit the ground Caster was momentarily distracted and didn't see Kitt as he swung down behind him and hit him with a hard uppercut to the jaw followed by an energy blast that skipped the small fox across the body and debris littered ground.

Caster's energy exploded outwards as he launched into the air with a fierce yowl, staring down Kitt as he rushes forward. "You know Alec is dead don't you?"

"What?!" Kitt replied back with a snarl.

"You didn't know? Well I guess you wouldn't, being away and all in your comfy little light side training dimension. But we took care of your little Blackstar as they were trying to escape the Assembly home world." Caster grinned and drop kicked Kitt into a broken down armored vehicle.

Kitt threw his energy to the sides, shredding the vehicle to scrap, panting, trying to keep composure, and feeling the virus quickly breaking down his insides. "You lie!"

"See for yourself." Caster grinned and projected the image of the Blackstar nearly making it into the inter-dimensional portal before a powerful energy beam sliced right through it and an image of Alec being tossed from the command chair as a fiery explosion happened on the bridge. "Haven't you wondered why you can sense him anymore?" Caster grinned.

"You fucking bastard!" Kitt fiercely growled as his golden aura slowly began to surface. The dark clouds above the battle field began to move and swirl around as if a hurricane was there and Kitt standing their balling his fists up.

"Yeah I am, too bad you weren't here, and you could have save him. But that's how the light side works, prefers it's champions to be absent when they ones they care for most are in trouble. He's dead and it's your entire fault." Caster yelled out.

Kitt's rage skyrocketed as he jerks his body forward his golden ascended form blasting outwards in a blinding light which could be seen from orbit. "I'm going to rip you limb from limb!" Kitt hissed and even faster than Caster could see he slammed his knee into the fox's chest and clubbed him down to the ground, quickly picking him up and tossing him easily into the air, growling loudly as his aura grows bigger and bigger his paws glowing more and more. "Eat this bitch!" Kitt yelled out throwing his arms forward for a second it seemed to everyone time completely stopped but then as if slowly speeding up they see Kitt braced hard against the ground as a thick golden energy beam began to leave his paws.

Time rushed back to normal as a earth shattering boom was heard for miles and equally a flash of light followed by the golden stream of energy which is easily twenty meters across launched out completely covering the fox and blast right through him right into space, exploding and destroying many of the ships in orbit, the force of the explosion rocked the entire planet like a massive earthquake.

At the end of it the entire battle field was clear of any remnants and all of the debris had been thrown into the air from the concussion of the blast. Kitt stood there paws held in the same position the attack had been launched in then the weakness took over and he collapsed down on his stomach. Caster's body suddenly thuds limply no more than a meter away. Both fighters completely drained.

The dark cloud of the planet killer ship all of a sudden becomes darker as he began to collapse on the planet. Lauren and Tarn quickly rush up to Kitt as he shivered and convulsed.

"Kitt! No, hold on...don't give up yet!" Tarn yelled out.

"It's done...Caster's dead..." Kitt forced out.

"No, it's not done, Alec is still alive...he's on his way now, we got word from him two days ago." Lauren blurted out. "Hold on for him."

"I, I can't...I can't fight anymore..." A tear rolled down Kitt's cheeks as he tried to ball up his fists. "I just wanted to hold him one more time....please...tell him, I love him." Kitt said as he inhaled sharply and yelled out in pure pain then falling limp in Tarn arms.

"NO!!!!!!!!!!" Lauren howled out.

The heavy rumble of the cloud descending on the planet, Tarn stood up and hugs Lauren as they look up, at their final moments.

"How much longer?!" Alec yelled out over the creaking and rumbling remains of the Blackstar as they rocket through hyperspace.

"30 seconds Alec! The ship is falling apart, we're loosing structural stability on pylon one and we've got hull breeches on decks, 9, 10, 11, 12 fuck almost all of them!" Shar growled out.

"Keep going! Divert all power to the stability force fields even life support." Alec ordered harshly.

"Aye sir!" Shar quickly said back.

With a spark and a roar the hyperspace gateway opened up and the crumbling Blackstar roared out into the space around the planet as it's slowly enveloped the planet.

"We're too late!" Shar exclaimed.

"No we're not, set autopilot on the command port of that cloud, it's in section 54x4x129, set the core to over load we're going to take this down. All staff get to your escape pods!" Alec quickly ordered.

The one hundred crew members still alive on the Blackstar rushed down the hallways cramming into the rectangular escape shuttles and are quickly blasted out into space as the their ship and home rushed into the cloud, Alec watched intently as he saw the ship collide with the octagonal structure and exploded in a violent burst of green and blue energy that balled out in a cloud followed by a brilliant ringed shockwave.

From the ground Tarn, Lauren and the rest of the population of the planet looked up at the sky seeing the almost beautiful explosion from space then witnessing almost like a spider web being set on fire the cloud dissolving and bursting back out into the atmosphere.

The army cheers out as they're impending doom was turned to dust and followed by a warm rain while Lauren and Tarn stood solemnly over the body of Kitt.

"We did it..." Tarn quietly said.

"Yes we did...." Lauren replied.

Alec's pod along with the others were recovered quickly and brought down to the planet. Alec walked into the reception area of the citadel, expecting to see Kitt but only saw Tarn and Lauren standing there, still in their combat vests.

"Where's Kitt? Caster's dead right this is over right?" He said knowing something was wrong.

"Caster is dead...but...the price was high. Kitt is...is..." Tarn said trying to hold back the emotion.

"No, he can't be...he's the champion, it can't be, please this is some kind of joke right?!" Alec quickly pled.

Lauren rushed up to him and hugs him tightly. "I'm so sorry Alec, there was nothing anyone could do he gave everything he had."

Alec burst out into tears hugging to Lauren tightly. "I can't believe it; he promised me he'd be here. I...I...oh my god NO!!!!!!!!!!"

"I know Alec I know, he told me to tell you he loved you very much, he tried to hang on long enough to see you one last time but the virus was too much." Tarn said putting a paw on Alec shoulder, several tears rolling down his cheek.

Alec, Lauren and Tarn stood there in the hall, Alec collapsing to the floor.

Several days later Lauren Tarn and Alec stand along a cliff ridge overlooking the ocean, in front of them was a long wooden bed with Kitt dressed in his favorite suit and trench coat, his eyes closed.

"I've never known anyone like him before...he just brought out the best and worst in people." Tarn began.

"He gave everything for us and got so little in return..." Lauren said right after.

Alec's face fur matted with tears as he held a flaming torch. "He was the only one I ever truly loved." Alec softly said as he shakily stepped forward and placed the torch into the kindling at the base of the bed and it quickly began to burn. "Good bye my love, my partner, my soul mate..." Alec simply said then turned away, trying to hold everything back as Kitt's body was consumed by the flames in front of the slowly setting sun, giving the sky a deep reddish purple tone.

THE END....
