Anyone who is familiar with "The Passionate Shepard to His Love" by Christopher Marlowe will recognize how this poem was formed. It's said that in order to become a great writer, one must first try to mimic the works of other authors/poets so as to gain an understanding of how the medium works. I wrote this poem as both tribute and practice to this famous piece.

I hope all who read this enjoys.

The Passionate Alpha to His Mate

By Keskron

Come run with me and be my mate

And we will howl the nights away

Through forests, glades, meadows, plains

Woods, or cliffs on seashore banks.

And we will run among the flocks

Of creatures living 'gainst the clock.

Upon the grasses, to whose blades

Whistle tunes and serenades.

And I will make thee our own den

And raise a pup, or two, or ten.

A pack of hunters, and a home,

Our territory which we roam.

Your coat is laced with finest fur,

It gives you such a great allure.

Calloused paws who smell of rose,

Walking 'mongst the loose-lead groves.

A tail to nip when I am bored

To show whom I, of all, adore.

And if I may reiterate,

Come run with me and be my mate.

The lupine's love shall kiss the stars

For we will sing throughout the hours.

Please answer soon, for I can't wait.

Come run with me and be my mate.
