#6 of The Dragon Delivery Team

Sappy titles are sappy.insert triumphant fanfare I did a thing, and I finally finished it. :D

Thank you to everyone who has supported me with this, and a special thanks to a couple friends who edited this for me. This story was a joy to write and I had a lot of fun doing it. To see it come this far makes me feel pretty good. ^-^ I hope everyone has enjoyed it as much as I have!

I'm not sure what I will be doing next. I may be writing an actual short story or two, but The One of Two Kinds will be my next big project. ^-^

This next scene is no longer included with the survey and is for the story. Here's a forewarning: it's also rape. =P I'll be marking the end of it if you want to skip.

Thanks for reading!

Saber blinked indolently as he lay with his back on the bed, legs splayed apart. He listened to the voice guiding him, blindly obeying its commands. As Saber's head lolled back and forth, the figure crawled up with him and sniffed between his legs. He wasn't quite sure, but he swore that the dragon had white scales covering its body.

He struggled to form the words and instead groaned meekly. Rhona... he thought languidly. His mind couldn't function normally and panic began to seize him. A pleasant feeling suddenly shot through his dull body as Rhona lapped at his balls and sheath. Saber tried to object and resist the urges, but his sluggish mind and body wouldn't allow it. Instead he gasped and clenched his toes instinctively, feeling her warm and wet tongue pleasuring him.

Rhona purred happily and stepped between his legs until her face was looking down at him. "I've been waiting a long time for this, Saber," she cooed and offered something in her paw. "Take this. It will help."

Saber tried to pull his head away, realizing the danger, but she held him down and forced him to take the pill. Saber reluctantly swallowed it. Rhona nuzzled him affectionately and grinded her hips against his crotch, rubbing her slit on his genitals. Saber elicited a soft moan as she aroused him.

"I have something else for you too," she said and jumped off the bed. Immediately, Saber tried to get away. He slowly rolled onto his side and grabbed the end of the bed, desperately trying to pull himself to the edge.

But Rhona quickly returned and pulled him back to his original position. She sat Saber up with his back against the headboard and his rear on the bed. He meeped weakly and complained as she grabbed his wrists and connected them to the headboard with leather straps. Then she forced his mouth open wide and shoved a ball into it. Saber tried to whine in protest, but his voice was entirely muffled by the gag.

"That should keep you quiet," she said. Saber struggled against his restraints and wriggled his hind, but Rhona stopped him, holding him firmly as she began to rub her sex against his exposed flesh in an upright position.

"The pill should start clearing your senses soon... but in the meantime, we're going to have some fun," she cooed softly into his ear. Her warm, white body pressed against his violet scales while she rubbed and massaged him pleasantly. Saber groaned and tensed up, arousal and lust beginning to join his already dense mind. Despite not having much feeling in his dull body, he could explicitly feel her gentle and soft touch.

"Just sit back and relax, Saber," she said. "You'll enjoy this."

Saber didn't want to do that at all, but he was powerless. He looked between his legs and noticed that his vision was returning. He could see her soft vent rubbing against his pink flesh. With a muffled hiss of displeasure, he realized that his mouth was stretched open. His saliva coated the ball holding his teeth apart.

Rhona caressed his cock with a paw, gently squeezing and rubbing his flesh while admiring it. "Aislin was right. Your cock is amazing," she cooed and gripped it, guiding it into her entrance. Saber watched and groaned as his tip penetrated her soft warmth. Rhona gasped and speared herself on his erect length, hilting him up to his knot immediately.

"Oh my..." she moaned, adjusting to his girth. Her muscles squeezed and massaged Saber, sending little jolts of pleasure coursing through his loins. "You're definitely bigger than Kale."

Saber winced and stifled a moan. Her tight warmth wrapped around his flesh as she adjusted and gently dipped her hips up and down.

Rhona adjusted her position, placing her legs before his so that she was sitting on Saber. With her forepaws steadying herself on his shoulders, she began to slowly roll and swivel her hips. She nuzzled him, moaning softly into his ear while her warm breath washed over his violet scales.

Saber's body felt frozen as she mated him. He could hardly move his rear with her weight on him, and his forearms were held in place by the leather bindings. He could only watch and groan as pleasure coursed through him.

Rhona's tight sex squeezed him while his cock slid in and out of her. Her soft depths felt just like Aislin's: warm and moist. Her secretions lubricated Saber's length, and she began to lift her hips up and down. Saber winced with pleasure, feeling his tapered tip rubbing against her internal walls.

Saber clenched his toes as his muscles tensed. A sudden spike in his pleasure sent his head reeling. His lust bloomed and he moaned loudly into the gag, his face flushing warmly. Saber cursed to himself, realizing that he was enjoying this. He didn't want to enjoy it, but it felt so good... Another gasp escaped his lips as Rhona bit his exposed neck.

She rode him harder, her hips slapping against his as she impaled herself repeatedly with Saber's thick cock. She lewdly licked and nibbled his neck, moaning softly. The bed creaked with her thrusts as their bodies bounced slightly up and down.

Saber hoped Aislin would hear them and come storming in... but a part of him didn't want that. That part of him wanted to mate with Rhona, to give her everything he had. Saber hissed and shook his head. Why am I thinking like this!? he thought helplessly. He couldn't control his urges, and they were beginning to overwhelm him.

Strange, fuzzy warmth dulled his senses. It didn't feel like his normal lust nor did it feel instinctual. Whatever it was it made him feel nothing but bliss. Saber liked that.

"Enjoying this, Saber?" Rhona asked, caressing his cheek while looking lustfully into his crimson eyes.

Saber hesitantly nodded.

A pleased expression spread Rhona's lips. "Good... now just relax." She slammed against him harder and closed her eyes, quietly moaning her pleasure. Saber's knot slapped firmly against her vent each time she thrust against him.

Saber released a muffled groan, giving in to the pleasant feelings welling inside him. They seemed much stronger than ever before, fogging and clouding his mind in an intense haze of bliss. His senses were quickly returning to him until he felt almost normal again.

Rhona hugged him tightly, pressing her warm body against his. Their smooth scales slid together as her belly rubbed against his. Her rutting slowed down quite a bit as she felt and caressed his body, feeling him up and down. She slathered her tongue over his neck and grunted each time her hips went down on him.

Saber's breathing was ragged as arousal claimed him. He began to thrust against her motions, making Rhona gasp and groan. She suddenly slammed her hips down on him, taking in his knot with a suppressed moan. Her orgasm flowed through her pulsating muscles as her tight sex squeezed him. Saber released a long growl as her sex milked him for his seed. He rolled his hips repeatedly, feeling his tapered tip pushing and pulling deep inside her constricting warmth.

"Cum for me," Rhona cooed encouragingly while sensually rubbing his flanks.

Somewhere deep down inside, Saber knew that he didn't want to, that what was happening was wrong. But he didn't care nor did he give a single thought about it. He winced and felt his cock throb inside her, the first rope of his thick seed spewing deep into her sex. He shuddered with pleasure, feeling his cock pulsing against her tight walls. He groaned and growled, unable to control himself.

"Yes... that's it, Saber," Rhona moaned and wiggled her hips as his warm seed filled her. Her orgasm died down shortly after his began. Saber felt his orgasm beginning to die as well, but his lust and arousal didn't. He felt as if he were still on the brink of pure ecstasy even as the last drops of his seed oozed from his tip.

Rhona nuzzled him happily and licked his nose. "See? Wasn't that fun?"

Saber breathed heavily through his nostrils. The gag made his mouth drool and feel dry. He desired more and could hardly wait. He nodded and began to thrust against her again while she sat on him.

She winced and gasped. "Oh, S- Saber!" She quickly pulled away from him, groaning as his knot tugged on her vent until it popped out and released a drizzle of his seed. "I guess that pill is working faster than I thought..."

Saber whined needily, thrusting his erect cock in the air. Rhona grinned and began to caress him with a forepaw. He groaned into the gag and pushed his length into her soft paw pads. She giggled and massaged him, stroking Saber up and down while he fidgeted eagerly.

Rhona couldn't take her eyes off of his cock. She lowered her head and her nostrils flared as her snout brushed against his length. She took a testing lick and shuddered before beginning to lap at his slick flesh. Saber bucked his hips with a lustful growl, enjoying the sensations of her warm tongue on his sensitive member. Pre dribbled out of his tip. She quickly lapped that up with a soft coo.

Then she slathered her tongue across his testicles, rubbing it against the sensitive underside of his package. She coiled her tongue around his orbs and play with each one, making Saber groan with lust. She focused her attention on his stones for a bit before tracing her slimy tongue back up his rod.

Saber clenched his toes as his muscles tensed up. Rhona took him in her maw while coiling her tongue around his cock. Her warm breath washed over his shaft, and her hot, moist maw enclosed around his tip. He bucked his hips harder and felt his length push deep into her mouth until his knot rammed against her teeth. He winced and she slightly gagged. Nevertheless, she continued suckling him diligently.

The feelings and urges coursing through Saber sent his senses running wild. He could hardly think or control himself while she pleasured him with her mouth. With her snout between his legs, Saber watched Rhona bob her head, letting his cock slide in and out of her maw.

Rhona suckled on his cock and began to massage his stones, gently kneading into his orbs while she fondled them. Saber winced and groaned. His second orgasm was already close. Her warm breath tickled his length while she breathed heavily through her mouth. The tip of his length pressed into her throat each time she went down on him, and the back of her tongue focused on it.

Saber couldn't hold out any longer. His balls tightened in her grasp as his cock began to throb. The first thick rope of his seed spewed into her throat before she withdrew his pulsing member from her mouth. He growled lustfully, and Rhona eagerly lapped at his shaft as his semen spilled onto his chest and belly. She rubbed her nose against his flesh, inhaling his scent deeply.

When Saber came down from his climax, he breathed heavily in and out around his gag. He was starting to dislike being bound and wished he was free. The restrictions were rather annoying and he wasn't sure why they were there in the first place. He tugged on the straps around his forearms, grumbling in protest.

Rhona stepped forward and pressed her muzzle to his. "Trying to escape?" she asked as she began to caress and stroke him sensually. She licked up the semen coating his underbelly, cleaning his violet scales.

Saber shook his head.

"Oh... then would you like to mate me again?"

Saber hesitated before nodding. He knew there was something he was forgetting, but he couldn't quite place it. He whined and growled, gesturing to his restraints.

"You want those off?" Rhona asked.

He nodded.

Rhona untied his arms, allowing them to move freely. "Now before I remove your gag, do you promise to keep quiet?"

Saber nodded eagerly.

She untied the gag as well. Saber tested his jaw, yawning and moving it all different directions. "Thank you," he said.

Rhona grinned. "You're welcome, Saber." She grinded her hips against his hard length, making him groan. He gripped her body and caressed her, pushing against her swiveling hips.

"Now, now... You have to be quiet if you want to mate with me again."

Saber nodded in compliance. "Okay."

Rhona smiled as her lustful gaze met his dull, senseless eyes. She stood up and turned around and lifted her tail. As she presented herself to him, Saber immediately climbed to his paws.

"Mate with me, Saber," she cooed softly. Saber would have taken her there and then, whether she wanted it or not. Having her submit to him just made it easier. He gave her vent a lick or two, tasting her flavor, and climbed up onto the white dragoness' back. He brought his hips forward and forcefully shoved his length into her sex. Rhona groaned and winced as he hilted her at his knot in one thrust. Saber growled with pleasure.

Saber didn't give her any time before he began roughly mating her, slamming his hips into hers. His hind paw gripped her rump, giving him an extra boost in his drives. Rhona winced and groaned, lowering her head submissively as he pounded against her with wet slaps.

Saber's forepaws gripped her underbelly and pulled Rhona into his thrusts. His thick cock quickly slid in and out of her slick, tight sex, rubbing and massaging her soft, internal walls roughly.

Rhona moaned quietly beneath him. "Oh... Saber, I n- never imagined that you would b- be so rough."

Saber growled lustfully in response and continued to rut her faster, jouncing her body back and forth. The bed creaked beneath them in time with the wet slapping of their connected sex. Saber could feel his orgasm nearing and drove for the finish like a feral animal. Lust was driving him mad, and he needed to satiate it, to finish inside Rhona.

A loud groan escaped Saber's lips as he pulled himself on top of Rhona's body, forcing her torso down. He held her shoulders and pushed her down with his forepaws while both of his hind paws clenched her rump. He slammed into her, making her groan and wince painfully.

"Nngh... S- Saber... you need t- to be quiet," she hissed softly, trying to calm him.

But Saber couldn't hear her. He continued at his same reckless pace, driving his rod forcefully in and out of Rhona's sex. His climax was close.

Then the bedroom door cracked open. "S- Saber?" Aislin called out worriedly. "Are you al--"

Aislin froze. She stopped dead in her tracks, in her speech, and in her thoughts as she stared blankly at Rhona and Saber mating in front of her. The door was open and the light from the living room shined over the mating dragons like a spot-light.

But Saber never stopped, giving no halt to his efforts. With lewd groans and growls, he rutted Rhona while she groaned too, looking terrified at the gray dragoness in front of her.

"What is this?" Aislin asked in disbelief. Her mouth hung open and moved as she tried to form words, but all she could muster was a weak: "Saber?"

Saber ignored her.

Then Aislin's beautiful green eyes twisted into something furiously primal. "Saber!" she hissed loudly, shouting above the sounds of his mating.

Saber ignored her. He didn't have time to reply; he was nearly finished.

"A- Aislin," Rhona began, "he's n--"

"Shut up!" she hissed angrily, baring her fangs in a venomous snarl.

Saber winced and growled loudly, burying his knot inside Rhona. The white dragoness cried out as he pounded her into the bed, pulling and tugging with his knot expanding inside her.

"SABER!!!" Aislin yelled viciously at the top of her lungs, anger and rage seething from between her bared teeth.

Saber ignored her and bit Rhona's neck as his cock throbbed inside of her, spewing his virile seed, claiming her in front of his mate.

**************************Rape ends here, but it gets a little violent.*************************************

Aislin had enough. She jumped onto the bed and rammed into Saber so hard that he separated from Rhona mid-orgasm and fell over the other side, mewling in pain on the ground. She held down Rhona and pinned her on her back, glaring viciously at the white dragoness as her claws tore into her white hide. Tears of rage, sadness, and remorse fell from Aislin's cheeks.

"You have taken away everything I've loved!" Aislin was angry and emotional.

"Aislin! I just want--"

Aislin cut her off Rhona's pleading by slashing her snout with an open paw. Rhona cried out in pain and writhed, trying to kick Aislin off of her. But the gray dragoness held tightly to her and bit her neck. Blood stained Aislin's claws and teeth.

Saber stood up with a dull aching in his side and watched with confusion. He wasn't sure what was happening and why, but Aislin looked livid. Why is she so angry? he thought.

Rhona hissed and swiped back at Aislin. Aislin parried her attack simply and raked her chest open. "You took away the love of my life, so I'll take away your life!" Aislin growled and bit Rhona's exposed neck again.

Rhona fought back the best she could, but she could only land a few damaging blows, clawing Aislin's belly and flanks with her talons. She tried to throw the gray dragoness off, but Aislin had her wings pinned to subdue the white dragoness.

As the lust in Saber's mind finally began to clear, he was able to assess the situation. He realized what he did with Rhona, and then he realized why Aislin was so angry. Saber's heart nearly stopped. His mind became and emotional battleground for fear, rage, regret, sadness, and his love for Aislin. And she was about to kill Rhona.

Saber jumped back onto the bed and pull Aislin off of Rhona. Aislin hissed and tried to swipe him, but Saber ended up falling off of the bed with her. Aislin scrambled to her paws immediately and looked down at him with dead eyes.

"I thought you were my mate!" she yelled, "I thought you loved me!"

Those words tore a hole so deep inside Saber's heart that he nearly choked from the traumatic pain. "A-Aislin, I do love you!" he cried, trying to express what emotions he could. He reached out to her.

"Liar!" she clawed his face and gouged his scales in three slices along his muzzle. Saber winced, but he didn't make a move; he hardly flinched. He simply looked up at Aislin with crimson eyes that spoke his contrition.

He could see the tears falling from her cheeks in a stream of sorrow. "I- ... I don't believe you," she stated and sniffled. She couldn't hold her tears back. She couldn't hold anything back. She raised her forearm, threatening to hit him again--Saber didn't budge--but she couldn't bring herself to do it. Aislin turned around and ran away.

"Aislin!" Saber called out. He winced painfully and rose to his feet. Rhona groaned weakly at him.

Horror struck Saber. Rhona's white scales were splattered in blood. Several slashes tore through her flesh, and her neck was painted a solid crimson. She was on the verge of death. Everything inside of Saber told him to leave her there and go chase after Aislin... but he couldn't bring himself to do it.

Instead of chasing after Aislin straightaway, he ran next door and burst in, startling both Ruari and William who were in the middle of reading. They immediately noticed the blood on him, trickling down his snout. Some of Rhona's blood covered his violet hide too from Aislin's paws.

"Saber!?" William shouted and ran up to him. "Are you alright?"

Saber shook his head and could hardly form the words as panic settled in. He was trembling. "R- Rhona needs y- your help. I have to f- find Aislin now." He was shaken and distraught. Everything was happening so fast that he couldn't keep up.

William nodded and followed him into the bedroom. He withdrew his phone and immediately dialed 911. "What happened, Saber?" William asked, but Saber was already running out of the door. He passed Ruari who tried to stop him as well, but he ignored his black-scaled friend.

He had to find Aislin.

Aislin was blinded by her tears as she tore through the freezing night sky. Snow fell in a flurry, speckling the darkness in small, white flakes that glinted from the city's light. Everything was falling apart: her life, her emotions, and her body. She trembled as she flew, shivering. She had no idea where she was going or why, but she had to get away. She wanted to forget everything.

Saber, the love of her life, betrayed her. He destroyed everything that she had ever wanted, crushing Aislin's heart into pieces. She gave him everything in the world that she could offer... Now all that remained inside of her was regret and sorrow. Rhona stole everything from her.

She wanted to go back to how things were. She wanted to forget everything that happened that night, but she knew that things could never be the same again. She lost everything.

Aislin growled and surged to the left, knowing where she would go. She wasn't sure if she would live after tonight, so she wanted to visit her most favorite place.

Aislin reached the other edge of town and glided down towards a lonely restaurant that had been closed since noon--where she first realized that she loved Saber. She landed in the back patio, her paws lightly crunching on snow as she stepped to the corner where she and Saber had sat together.

Warm, fond memories flickered through her mind as she remembered that day. She remembered how Saber had defended her and how he had held and comforted her afterward. But those memories twisted into malicious thoughts infected by the cold. He never really cared, she lied to herself.

Aislin shivered in the cold, alone as she had always been. She could count on her digits how many times she had been truly happy in her life, and three of those times had been within that week... because of Saber. Even now, when he had torn away everything from her, she still loved him. She knew he cared.

She couldn't deny that she loved Saber.

She felt her stomach, reminding herself of their egg. "Can we move on from this?" she asked herself out loud. Tears fell into the snow, disappearing into tiny holes. Blood trickled down her underbelly, dotting the snow in crimson blobs. She wanted nothing more than to make things right again... but Saber blatantly betrayed her.

Anger rose within her again as she thought about what she saw: Saber mounting Rhona. He even released his seed inside her... right in front of Aislin.

She growled and swiped the ground. Then she did it again, and again, and again until she painfully chipped her claws. After that she cried, wailing her somber emotions to the uncaring sky. She couldn't hold herself back--there was no sense in it.

Aislin looked at the blood on her black paws and backed up against the wall and to a corner, staring at herself with horror. I killed Rhona, she thought. I killed her...

She couldn't go back. They could never go back to how things were.

Aislin curled up into a trembling ball, sobbing uncontrollably as her body began to numb from the chilling wind. She was too weak. "S- Saber!" she shouted. "I need you!"

Saber flew all over the city, flying as fast as he could. He searched everywhere, looking for Aislin. He ignored the biting cold clawing at his hide, and he tried to ignore the panic and desperation building inside of him as time ticked away. He had to make things right again. Saber had to find the love of his life.

He knew it was too cold for even a dragon to stay outside for very long. If she didn't seek shelter then... He didn't want to think about it. With a determined growl, Saber continued long past when his wings started aching.

Saber thought of all the places she could have gone. He hoped that she was safe somewhere and warm. He blinked through his tears and soared over the park, trying to find a hint of her trail. Perhaps she came here because it is a special place to her, he thought and landed on a path.

It was lit with dim-glowing lanterns lining down the path. Snow fell and accumulated like a thin blanket over the untouched earth. Saber ran down the path, looking for anything. His breathing was ragged and raspy, and his wing muscles ached terribly. He gave them a rest, continuing on his legs.

But Saber could find nothing.

He thought of other places that held meaning to her--places she had shown him before. He couldn't think of any that made sense. Panic began to settle in. Saber's head throbbed painfully. Then he tried to think of what the most special place would be to Aislin.

A possible location occurred to him: Breakfast Under the Sun. It was where she first opened up to him--where their hearts intertwined. That was when he found out he loved her... he wondered if she felt the same.

Saber didn't hesitate for a second and leapt into the skies. His body was getting colder the longer he continued. He could only imagine what Aislin was feeling...

Warm tears streamed from his cheeks. Aislin... I'm so sorry. Please don't shut me out.

It wasn't long before the restaurant came into view. It was dark and no cars sat out front of it. Saber angled down and landed at the front door, realizing it was closed. His heart sank. Saber cried out and beat his head against the door several times, ramming against it desperately.Where else will I go? Where else could she be?

"Damnit!" he shouted. "Damnit! Damnit... damnit..." Saber cried and sniffled, blinking away his tears. Now wasn't the time to be sulking around. He had to leave and search elsewhere. He whirled around and leapt to the skies again.

But just before he was gone, he heard something... he heard Aislin. He didn't know from where, but he knew it was her. Saber turned back around, his crimson eyes darting everywhere, searching. This time he landed at the back of the restaurant.

Saber immediately noticed blood staining the snow near the corner where they had sat. "Aislin!" he called out, hoping to hear her voice call back.

"S- Saber..." Aislin weakly mewled.

Saber looked behind him and saw Aislin curled up in the corner. His heart skipped a beat. He ran up to her and covered her with his wings as soon as he could. Her maw was coated in blood and so were her paws. She was bleeding along her flank; a small pool of blood formed beneath her.

"Aislin!" Saber sniffled and buried his snout into her neck. "Aislin... I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry..." He gasped and coughed, letting his emotions burst from him. He trembled and shook.

She cried too. He could hear her sobbing as she embraced him. "I'm s- sorry for overreacting..." She touched his snout where she had clawed him, making Saber wince. Then she stared at her bloody paws.

Saber pushed them away and embraced her. "You didn't overreact, Aislin."

She tried to form a smile, but her quivering lips wouldn't let her. "I... I love you... I love you so much," she whispered faintly, but he could hear every last word. Her words filled him with joy.

"I love you too," he said softly before he choked. His throat clenched tightly as he wept. "I- I love you."

Saber wanted to sit there and cry with her until their tears were dry, but he knew that he couldn't. Aislin needed medical attention. She was shivering and bleeding, her body cold to the touch. He nuzzled her and looked sternly into her dark-green eyes.

"We have to go," he said. She didn't respond. "We need to go now, Aislin." He stood up and helped her to her feet. Aislin could hardly stand--there was no way she could fly, and Saber couldn't carry her.

Saber was worried. They would have to walk to the hospital... and he didn't even know where that was, but he knew that they were at the edge of town, probably the farthest point they could have been.

"Where's the hospital?" he asked as she wrapped a forearm and wing around him so she could walk. He supported her, helping her with each step.

"I'm not... going to make it, Saber," she whispered and smiled feebly at him.

Saber's heart ached. He didn't want to think of the possibility. He shook his head and began to walk with her to the road. "You're going to be fine, Aislin. You're going to make it."

"You're lying to me."

Saber shook his head again, remaining silent.

"You were always a bad liar," she joked, grinning weakly. "The hospital is near the center of town... It's... it's close to the park."

Saber gulped and furiously blinked away his tears. They hobbled along the road, heading towards the center of town. Am I strong enough?

Saber had no idea how long he they had been walking, but it felt like ages. His limbs were nearly frozen--each step was more difficult than the last. Aislin was grinning nearly the entire time until she began to get lazy. Her steps were slower and heavier.

"C'mon, Aislin... we're almost there," Saber encouraged.

"No... we're not," she replied. "We're not going to make it..."

Saber shook his head furiously. "Yes we are!"

Aislin sighed and collapsed.

"Aislin!" Saber shouted trying to lift her back up.

"Go, Saber... go without me."

"You know I can't do that!" He nuzzled her tenderly and hugged her, trying to exchange his warmth... but he had none left in him.

"I'm... sorry that I killed Rhona," she said.

"Aislin?"

"Now neither of us will be there for you..."

Saber growled and shouted. "I don't want anything to do with her!"

Aislin weakly chuckled and closed her eyes. "Aislin?" Saber shook her body, trying to wake her. "Aislin!"

Saber lost all hope. Remorse filled him as he stared at her blankly. Is this just a nightmare? he asked himself. I... I want to wake up... I need to wake up.

It was his darkest moment. Nothing mattered, and anything that existed no longer had meaning to him. He felt alone in the world... if she died... if she dies... Saber sobbed, gasping for air. Am I strong enough?

Then Saber saw two bright lights heading toward them. He blinked slowly and gazed at them somberly. They stopped in front of him, hovering above the ground as two humans suddenly appeared. Saber blinked again. It was a van and those were headlights.

"Are you okay!?" A man shouted, running up to Saber and Aislin. "Holy shit! Rick, we gotta do something. Help me out here!" Saber wordlessly watched them struggle to pick up Aislin. He wanted to protest and tell them to put her down, but he knew that this was a good thing.

It was hope.

He climbed into the van with Aislin, lying over her cold, motionless body. It was warm inside, and they cranked up the heat even more.

It wasn't up to him to save her anymore. He wasn't strong enough.

He blacked out.

When Saber woke again, he was lying on his side on a soft, cushiony bed. Strange tubes were hooked up to his body, penetrating his scales along his forearms. Bandages were taped to his snout where Aislin had clawed him. His head throbbed painfully as he tried to blink away the blinding light. His eyes hurt and his body hurt, but he knew that he was fine.

Aislin! he thought desperately. She was in the same room as him right across from his bed. Her gray, motionless body was lying there, facing him from across the room. Saber didn't even hesitate. He struggled to climb off of the bed--his limbs trembling and threatening to collapse with the strain--but he was soon walking up to her with the tubes tugging against his skin. The machine they were connected to followed him across the room.

Saber's worried gaze stared at Aislin. All of the blood had been cleaned up and fresh bandages covered her gray scales, wrapping around her belly. A blanket covered her midway up her body, just covering some of her bandages. She looked peaceful, and that reassured Saber greatly. She was hooked up to the same machine he was, but a strange mask covered her snout. It looked as if she was breathing through it, but she was breathing steadily.

Saber smiled and nuzzled her tenderly. "We did it," he said to her, feeling tears beginning to fall from his cheeks. He still wasn't sure how she was doing, but he knew deep down inside that she would be okay.

A lady walked in wearing light-blue scrubs and stopped, seeing Saber out of his bed next to Aislin. She covered her mouth, seeming to want to have said something. Saber glanced back at her.

"Will she be okay?" he asked, blinking away his tears.

The nurse nodded, and that made Saber grin with joy. His lips spread apart to reveal a bright, toothy grin as he happily nuzzled Aislin again.

"But you need to stay in bed for a while longer... You are still recovering."

"Can I stay with her?" Saber asked hopefully.

"Uhm... I... One second," she replied and left.

Saber returned his attention to Aislin, smiling happily as more tears streamed down the pebbly, dark-blue scales of his cheek.

When the nurse returned, a man garbed in a white suit, who Saber assumed was the doctor, came with her. He had short, black hair and a pair of glasses pushed tight against his nose.

"Hey there, buddy," he greeted. "How are you feeling?"

Saber turned around and replied, "Better. Aislin's going to be okay?" he asked again.

The doctor nodded with a gentle smile as he walked up to him. He knelt down so he was eye-level with Saber. "Is that her name? That's a beautiful name."

Saber nodded in agreement, grinning.

"What's your name then?" he asked curiously.

"Saber."

He patted Saber's head and said, "That's a good name too. My name is Dr. Blaire." Then he stood back up and walked over to the opposite side of Saber's bed. "You wanted to stay closer to her, right?"

Saber nodded, and then he watched the doctor and nurse move a few medical supplies and machines around before they moved his bed over until it was next to Aislin's.

If Saber had been feeling any stronger, he would have been bouncing up and down happily. But for now, he merely smiled and thanked them. "I appreciate it."

"No problem. But try to stay in the bed for a while. I can't have you hurting yourself!"

Saber climbed back on his bed and lay down on his side facing Aislin as Dr. Blaire and the nurse left. His eyes felt heavy and his head felt like it was underwater. He closed his eyes and fell back asleep. Everything was going to be okay.

Saber woke the second time finding William and Ruari behind him, sitting and talking.

"Hey, Saber," William said softly as he noticed Saber wake. "How are ya feelin'?"

Saber grinned and said, "Much better." He was still hooked up to the machine, and Aislin was still sound asleep. He noticed that they took the breathing mask off of her, and he was glad to see her normal face again.

William put his hand on Saber's shoulder and patted him. "I'm glad you are. You and Aislin gave us quite the scare last night."

"Sorry," Saber apologized.

"It's alright," he replied with a reassuring smile. "Rhona is doin' well too."

"She's alive?"

William nodded. "Accordin' to the doctors, if we had waited a few minutes longer she wouldn't have made it."

Saber stared blankly in front of him. Truthfully, a part of him wished that Rhona had died. What she did to him... what she did to Aislin was unspeakable. But he was glad that she was alive, despite the anger and resentment he held toward her. Aislin would probably be glad to know that she didn't kill Rhona too.

"I know now is not the time to talk about it, so whenever you and Ash get to feelin' well, stop by and talk to us."

"We will."

"You look terrible."

Saber grinned. "You're not so bad yourself!"

William chuckled and patted his shoulder again. "I think you're worryin' too much about Ash. She's going to be fine, Saber."

Saber nodded. "Thank you, William."

"Anytime. Ruari and I just stopped in to say hi. We don't want to hassle ya too much, so we'll be leavin'."

Saber turned and said, "You're not hassling me at all... I'm glad you're here."

William smiled softly. "That means a lot, but ya need your rest. We'll be back soon enough."

Saber nodded with a sad expression. "Okay."

William patted him between the horns. "Take care!" William said and left with Ruari, who also said goodbye.

Saber wanted to talk more with them, but he realized William was right: he needed to rest. He laid there for a long time, relaxing and thinking. The hospital staff brought him snacks that he eagerly ate, and he eventually had a healthy dinner. He thanked them and continually asked about Aislin, and their replies were always that she will be fine.

After Aislin slept through that entire first day, he wondered if they were really telling him the truth. He couldn't help but to worry anxiously about her, but he knew it was out of his paws. It wasn't up to him anymore.

Later that night when most of the medical staff had left, Saber decided that it was time for him to be close to her again. He didn't care what they said.

Saber crawled onto her bed and on top of her blanket, dragging the tubes connected to his forearms with him. He embraced her from the front, wrapping his forearms and wings around her lovingly and protectively. He nestled himself within her loose grasp and smiled, pressing the tip of his snout to hers.

He felt much more comfortable with her and quickly fell fast asleep.

Saber woke early in the morning to hear a disgruntled argument between two men out in the hallway.

"I don't care if the government is paying for them! It's ruining my equipment in there! I want those two out, along with that white one!"

"Sir, they're not yet fully-recovered. It will take another few days, especially for the two females. They both suffered extensive damage to their bodies."

"I told you I don't care! They're just dragons for God's sake! Take 'em to a vet, not a hospital. We don't need their filthy bodies tainting our equipment."

"I will not release them until they are ready."

The other man growled. "Then get that purple one out of here today. If he can get up and move around like that, then he's been ready."

"I doubt he will want to leave. Those two are mates... really close ones at that."

"Does it matter? Make him leave."

"He is free to stay. I cannot force him to leave."

The man growled again. "I will have your ass the moment you slip up. Watch yourself, David." Then Saber heard footfalls storming away down the hall. Another pair of footsteps stepped inside his room, and Saber closed his eyes tightly shut, pretending to be asleep.

"Your heart rate beats faster when you're awake, you know," the doctor said, seeing through Saber's ploy. "I'm sorry you had to hear that."

"You're not going to make me leave?" Saber asked hopefully.

Dr. Blaire shook his head. "Our Head doesn't like dragons in his hospital. No matter what he does, you're free to stay until your mate is ready to leave too. Don't let him scare you."

Saber nodded. "Thank you..."

"You're welcome. Aislin should be waking up tomorrow; she just needed a lot more rest than you," he reassured. "I still need to keep those IVs in you until we've flushed all of the drugs out of your system."

"Drugs?" Saber asked worriedly.

"Yes. There are still traces of two highly potent chemicals mixed within your blood, some tranquilizer and aphrodisiac." He noticed the confused expression across Saber's muzzle. "You ingested a drug that impairs your bodily functions, and also one that amplifies your sexual arousal."

Saber clenched his claws angrily, remembering how he was unable to do anything... how Rhona simply had her way with him until he was having his way with her.

"The mixture of those two can only indicate a certain situation... and I've contacted the police about it."

"Y- You did?" Saber's face flushed warmly with embarrassment.

"I had my suspicions when three dragons suddenly came to the ER in the middle of the night. The substances you took actually interact with each other, and they are both commonly used together for sexual assault. After we had some tests done, the results were conclusive."

"So... you know?" Saber asked, feeling ashamed.

He nodded. "I can assume what transpired, but I'll leave it at that."

Saber sighed unhappily, wishing he could forget that night.

"Everything's going to be alright, Saber. Rest easy now," he said and left.

Saber sighed again and pulled himself closer to Aislin. He closed his eyes, but found that sleep wouldn't come to him. He eventually had to get up and use the restroom, finding it rather difficult without making a mess since the toilets were meant for humans. And it didn't help that he had these tubes pricking his scales. The whole experience was rather unpleasant, to say the least.

But when he returned to the bed, he saw Aislin's emerald eyes staring back at him. Saber froze and his mouth dropped. His heart beat quickly as he looked into her vibrant eyes.

"Are you just going to stand there and stare at me?" she asked playfully, though her voice sounded a little rough, almost as if she had to force every word out.

The biggest, toothy grin spread Saber's cheeks, and he had to refrain from bouncing like a giddy hatchling. He nuzzled her lovingly and licked the tip of her nose. "Aislin!"

She smiled, bringing the warmest and fuzziest feeling to Saber's heart as it leapt for joy. He licked her nose repeatedly, unable to contain his excitement.

She chuckled and pushed his head away. "Not all at once!"

"Sorry... I missed you."

Aislin looked around and groaned painfully as she shifted onto her back. Saber looked at her worriedly. "I'm fine..." she muttered while wincing. "How long was I out?"

"A whole day and a few hours," he answered.

She sighed and stretched a little bit, quickly noticing the tubes in her forearms. Then her face scrunched confusingly. She lifted the blanket and her eyes bulged as she meeped.

"Aislin?" Saber asked, wondering what she was doing.

She glanced at him, and Saber could tell that her face was flushed. She was embarrassed about something beneath that blanket, and she wouldn't show him. "N-Nothing." She pulled the blanket up higher until it was over her chest.

Saber grinned. "C'mon Aislin! You know I've seen every part of your body!"

"That doesn't matter!" she huffed.

"And touched..."

"This is different!"

"How so?" Saber pressed teasingly.

"You don't want to know anyway," she hissed. "Trust me."

Saber gave up, deciding not to push her further. She was still recovering after all! He sighed in defeat and climbed up onto the bed with her. He laid his head on Aislin's chest and curled up with her, relishing in the warmth of her body.

Aislin exhaled slowly and nuzzled him affectionately. She embraced him, gently kissing and licking his face. Saber covered her protectively with a wing.

"I don't care what you did, Saber... I love you no matter what."

Saber's grasp tightened and his claws poked into her gray scales. "Aislin..."

"Yes?"

Saber gulped uneasily. "I... I have something to tell you... about what happened."

Saber could tell that she was impatient, but she tried not to show it for him. "What is it, Saber?" She held his paw reassuringly, melting Saber's heart as he opened up to her.

His eyes moistened as he recalled those awful memories. "Rhona... she drugged me... I was..." He pinched his eyes shut and whimpered. He didn't want to admit it, and he could hardly form the words. Aislin nuzzled him comfortingly. He finally managed to say, "I was raped."

Aislin's chipped claws clenched Saber's paw so hard that she drew blood and made him wince painfully. "What?" she asked, a fire burning in her eyes. "She did what to you?" she growled.

Saber tried to calm her. "Aislin! It's over now... we're okay!"

"I knew something was wrong with you... I knew that you would never do that..." She began to cry; tears streamed down her cheeks. "I knew you wouldn't betray me... I'm... I'm so sorry..."

Saber tilted her head so she looked into his sincere, crimson eyes. "Aislin, we're past that now. There's no need to be sorry anymore."

She nodded and wiped her tears away. "I'm... I'm glad I killed her."

He gulped, realizing that Aislin didn't know Rhona was still alive. He wanted to tell her the truth... but he had to wait until a better time. He remained silent, cuddling with his mate.

Aislin eventually broke the silence. She held his paw firmly and squeezed it, turning so she looked at him. "Saber... I'm worried about our egg."

Saber nuzzled her tenderly. "I'm sure it's fine, Aislin," he replied reassuringly.

"What if something happened to it?"

"Aislin..."

"What if it died?"

Saber growled tersely and gently bit her neck. He didn't want to think about that. "Our hatchling will be fine... He or she will be beautiful, just like you. Let's get some rest," he said. She agreed and turned so her back faced him. Saber embraced Aislin from behind, draping a warm wing over her body. He nuzzled her and closed his eyes.

Saber woke a few hours later when the morning sun was shining brightly through the crack in the curtains. He noticed a nurse preparing a tray of food for the both of them. There were a few different types of fruits and a weird, brownish-gray concoction in a bowl.

As the nurse left, the doctor came in with a clipboard. "Morning, Saber. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to ask you to move back to your bed for now. We need check up on Aislin."

Saber nodded and climbed off of the bed, but he could barely contain his joy as he beamed. "She was awake earlier!" he declared happily.

"I noticed a change in her heart rate..." he mumbled, flipping through his papers. Then he looked at Saber and grinned. "But that's good news!"

Saber nodded again and watched Dr. Blaire scribble onto his clipboard. He was looking at the machine connected to the strange tubes. Then he went to Saber's machine as the purple dragon stepped out of his way. The doctor adjusted a few things on it, and Saber stared at the spots where the tubes dug into his scales.

"What are you doing?" he asked curiously.

"Adjusting a few things to keep your body healthy," he answered.

Aislin groaned behind them, waking up drowsily. She yawned and looked over at them, smiling softly at Saber.

"Ah, Aislin! I'm glad to see that you're awake," Dr. Blaire said as he returned to the foot of her bed.

Aislin acknowledged him and asked, "Who are you?"

"My name is Dr. Blaire. I've been caring for you while you've been asleep."

Aislin growled, "Are you the one that put this... thing inside of me?"

Saber watched with a confused expression. What thing?

Dr. Blaire nodded with a small smile. "Yes, I did. The catheter was necessary to keep your bladder drained, since you were out for an entire day. Now that you're awake, I can take it out as soon as you want."

Aislin eyed him nervously, and then she glanced at Saber. She didn't look very happy. She sighed and said, "I would like it out now... please."

Dr. Blaire nodded and put down his clipboard. He washed his hands and then withdrew some light-blue, stretchy gloves from a box. "This is going to feel rather uncomfortable, so please bear with me, Aislin."

She nodded.

He came back to the foot of the bed. "I'll need you to scoot up closer to me and lie on your back."

Aislin complied, though she didn't seem to like where this was going. The doctor removed her blanket and directed, "Now spread your legs for me."

Saber watched with his mouth wide. "What are you doing to her?" he asked worriedly as Aislin exposed herself to him. He didn't like that one bit, even if he was a human.

"I'm taking her catheter out. Would you like to watch?" he asked amusingly.

"No!" she growled. "He can't watch."

"I thought you two were mates?"

"We are!" Saber said, padding up to Dr. Blaire excitedly.

Aislin hissed in protest. "I don't want him to watch!"

"Okay, okay," he chuckled and motioned for Saber to step away. "Sorry, Saber."

Saber sighed and away, giving Aislin a look of dissatisfaction. "You don't want to see it anyway," she grumbled.

But that only made Saber more curious. The doctor told him to turn around, so he reluctantly did, waiting until he was done.

"Sorry about that," he apologized as he finished. Saber turned around as soon as he could, but Aislin was already lying on her side again while Dr. Blaire took away a long, thin tube and a bag.

"I'll be back momentarily to discuss a few things with you two. For now, I would suggest that you eat your breakfast... it may not look appetizing, but it'll help you feel better."

Saber grabbed the trays and joined Aislin, already pestering her about the thing that was inside her. She grumbled with irritation and hungrily ate her food. He picked at his food as well, enjoying the fruit but not so much to weird gravy-like concoction. It tasted bitter, but there were delectable chunks of meat hiding inside the brownish liquid.

Dr. Blaire returned just as he had said, but this time he brought a different man dressed in a navy-blue uniform. A shiny, golden badge was pinned to his chest, and around his waist was a belt with tools Saber had never seen before.

"This is Officer Harvey, the policeman who responded to the 911 call at your home. He would like to speak with you before legal action is taken."

Saber and Aislin greeted him, but Saber felt a pit forming in his stomach.

"Who is the white female?" he asked and withdrew a pen and notepad.

Aislin answered, "Her name was Rhona." He asked her to spell it out, so she did.

"How is she affiliated with you?"

"She was a coworker."

"Did you attack her?"

"Yes."

The policeman nodded and put away the notepad. "After talking with Dr. Blaire, the evidence we received is more than enough to put her in jail for quite a long time. Along with--"

"What do you mean 'put her in jail'?" Aislin interrupted and snarled. "Isn't she dead?"

He shook his head. "No, she is not."

Saber felt Aislin's claws tear into the bed as a low, rumbling growl stopped at her throat. Saber held her paw in an attempt to comfort her.

"Don't worry, though. There will be no legal repercussions taken against you, as you acted in self-defense. She will be behind bars for at least the next half of her life."

Aislin jerked her head away and stared at the wall with her brow furrowed angrily.

Dr. Blaire turned and gestured toward the door. "If there is anything else, please come to me."

The police officer nodded and took his leave.

"Is she here?" Aislin asked the doctor.

"Rhona?"

Aislin nodded. Her lips were slightly curled back and her eyes were blazing.

"No, she was transferred to another hospital," he answered definitively. Saber was about to object to that, as he knew that she was here and that Dr. Blaire was lying, but he quickly realized why that was a bad idea.

Aislin snorted and turned her back towards him and Saber.

"But let's talk about some good news." Aislin didn't bother budging, but Saber looked at him intently. "You two will be able to leave here in two more days. Your recovery is going well, and you've both surpassed our expectations."

Saber smiled happily and nodded. "Thank you."

"You're both definitely looking much better than when I first met you."

Saber looked at Aislin and remembered that night. "Who... who were the two that saved us?"

"Hm?"

"There were two men that saved Aislin and I... I want to thank them."

The doctor withdrew his clipboard and turned back several pages. "I'm... I'm not sure. I'll talk with the front desk." He turned to leave and said, "Get some rest!"

"I've gotten enough rest," Aislin grumbled beside Saber as he left.

Saber nuzzled her and said, "Not yet."

She smirked and turned back around so she could cuddle with Saber. She nuzzled him tenderly and closed her eyes. "You know what I want to do instead?"

Saber gulped as her hind paw rubbed against his genitals, groping his balls. Saber whined needily. "A- Aislin... we can't right now." She continued despite his objection. Saber shuddered as her toes curled around his hardening flesh. She stroked him up and down gently, feeling him with her foot. "Aren't you feeling sick?"

"Maybe a little bit... but this is definitely helping."

Saber blushed warmly and gasped as she rubbed the tip of his erect cock with her toes. She kissed him, drawing all sorts of lustful feelings from Saber. It felt like it had been ages since he shared an intimate moment like this with her. His heart was fluttering with elation.

Then a nurse rushed in. Saber broke away from the kiss immediately and looked at the girl, who looked equally as surprised.

"Oh! I'm sorry..." She checked the machine hooked up to Saber, looked at them, and left.

"See!" Saber grumbled and rolled over so his back was facing Aislin.

Aislin sighed. "Then what are we going to do?"

Saber sighed too, covering his erection with a wing so anyone passing by their door couldn't see. He really wouldn't have minded relieving a little tension... but they had no privacy!

Then he noticed a remote to the TV nestled in the top right corner of the room. He never even realized that there was a TV! He grinned and grabbed the remote, turning the TV on. He flipped to the same channel they watched at home.

Aislin grinned. "I suppose this will do for now."

The day passed by slowly, but Saber was alright with that. He was happy to have his mate back. They watched cartoons for almost the entire day while they both took a few naps. They ate their food when it was given to them. Lunch and dinner were much better than breakfast: their meat was in its solid, regular form.

Aislin began to worry about their egg again, so the next time Dr. Blaire came around she asked him about it.

"When did you copulate?"

"About four days ago now," Aislin answered.

He nodded and said he would be right back. Dr. Blaire returned wheeling in a machine.

"Now, this is something I've never done before, and I'm not sure if it will work. Can you lie on your back, Aislin?"

Saber climbed off of the bed and stayed on the opposite side of Dr. Blaire.

She nodded but kept her legs tucked respectfully against her body this time. Dr. Blaire put some gloves on and then applied a gel to Aislin's belly, rubbing it in circles.

"What is that?" Saber asked curiously.

"It's going to help us see the egg. I'm not sure if we'll be able to see the beginnings of your hatchling yet or not. From my limited knowledge, your egg should be laid in about another week."

Saber grinned happily at Aislin. He had no idea that it would be so soon!

The doctor turned the screen to the machine on and withdrew a remote-like tool, pressing it to Aislin's belly. "After the egg is laid, it will be about four to five months before it hatches," he explained as images popped up on the screen.

Saber could see their egg in black and white. It was perfectly formed and looked unharmed.

"Hmm. Let me try this," Dr. Blaire said and flipped a switch. Then Saber saw what looked to be a miniature dragon, but its body was only slightly developed. There weren't any claws, talons, horns, or even scales yet. Saber held Aislin's paw, looking at her excitedly. Her eyes were beaming with pride and joy.

"That looks like a healthy baby to me!" the doctor said, allowing them a moment to admire their hatchling. "What are you two going to name him or her?"

They both chuckled and Aislin answered, "We haven't thought of a name yet."

Dr. Blaire turned off the screen and cleaned up Aislin's light gray scales. "Well, you still have quite some time before you have to choose."

"Thank you, Dr. Blaire," Saber said, smiling happily.

"No problem," he responded and began to haul the machine out of the room. "I'll have to remember that this works!"

"What will we name him or her?" Aislin asked Saber as he rejoined her on the bed.

"I don't know... I like the name Jailyn."

"That's a stupid name," Aislin teased. "What about Lionel?"

"That name isn't any better!"

They tossed a few more names back and forth, each one seeming to be less fitting than the last.

Aislin sighed. "This will be harder than I thought."

Saber nodded.

The sun soon set and most of the staff had gone home. Their light was shut off, and their door was shut this time so they could sleep peacefully, but neither Aislin nor Saber felt like sleeping.

They cuddled intimately, gently caressing and kissing each other. They were finally alone and the door was shut, giving them all the privacy they needed.

"C'mon, Saber... we can make it quick. It's not like they'll come barging in."

Saber gulped and shook his head. "This is not the place to do it! We're still recovering, Aislin... You almost died."

"Which is why I want to live a little!" She rolled on top of Saber, taking the dominant position. "We're alone right now... and I miss mating with you."

Saber groaned as she spread his legs apart and situated her crotch between them, gently rubbing his sheath with her slit. "I want nothing more right now than to mate with you... but we're in a hospital! We still have these tubes sticking out of us!"

"Are they that distracting?"

"No... but... I think this one measures my heart rate." He pointed to a flat circle that was stuck to his chest. A wire came out of it and ran to the machine next to his bed. "That's why the nurse came in here earlier."

"Then let's take it off," she said, reaching for it.

Saber stopped her. "If you take it off, then they will come in here and wonder why it's off!"

Aislin grumbled unhappily and sighed in defeat, returning to Saber's side. "You're no fun."

Saber nuzzled her affectionately. "We'll have plenty of time after we've recovered to mate. I don't think Dr. Blaire wants us to physically exert ourselves."

Aislin mumbled something beneath her breath and grabbed the remote, turning the TV on.

Saber sighed with relief. He would have gladly mated her, too, but he was afraid of the repercussions.

It wasn't long before they both dozed off for a well-rested, night's sleep.

In the morning, Saber woke to Aislin nudging him, finding himself wrapped in her wings with a blanket covering their lower ends up to their chests. He felt warm and comfortable, grinning as he nuzzled Aislin. She licked the top of his head between his horns.

"I noticed that you're sleeping well again," she said and touched the erection poking into her belly.

Saber blushed and pulled away. "Sorry!"

She licked his nose. "I'm fairly certain we're past that."

Saber looked away and sighed. "I suppose you're right."

"Rebecca is here to see us."

He looked behind him and saw his blonde-haired, human friend. "R- Rebecca!" Saber's face flushed warmly. It felt as if someone could scald themselves just by touching his cheeks! She was giggling at him and covering her mouth with a hand. She walked up and knelt beside the bed.

"I didn't realize dragons could get morning wood too."

"Y- You noticed?" Saber asked nervously, making sure he was still covered as he hid beneath a wing, embarrassed. Aislin chuckled beside him.

She nodded. "I kind of walked in before Aislin covered you... It's okay, Saber. It's only natural!"

"So I've been told..."

"Anyway, I wanted to drop by and see how you're doing," she said and patted him on the back.

"How did you know we were here?"

"William told me what happened... I'm really glad you're okay," she said sincerely, her eyes and face speaking for her. "You've both really opened my eyes about dragons in general. If it weren't for the both of you, especially you, Saber, I wouldn't have ever realized how cool you guys are."

"You've shown me a lot of kindness that most humans wouldn't even think of," Saber replied warmly. A soft smile spread his lips. "Thank you, Rebecca."

She smiled back at him and grabbed his shoulder firmly. "Thank you."

"So you met William?" Saber asked curiously after a moment of silence.

She nodded. "He's working for me! He stopped by yesterday and I hired him in."

"I'm glad to hear it."

She patted him on the head and waved to Aislin. "I better get going now. Get well soon, you two! And stop by again sometime!"

Saber and Aislin said goodbye as she walked away.

Aislin had a big toothy grin across her muzzle as she stared at the ceiling.

"What's gotten into you?" Saber asked teasingly. He embraced her again, nuzzling her neck.

"I'm... I'm just happy that William has a job again."

Saber nodded. "Me too."

The morning passed quickly. After Rebecca had left, their breakfast had arrived. It was the same weird food as it was yesterday with some fruit. They ate it as they watched cartoons.

Out of the corner of Saber's eye, he noticed a golden dragon walking past their door. It was Kale. Saber gulped, realizing that he was probably there to see Rhona. He looked extremely depressed. His tail was drooping low, and as was his head. Saber felt sorry for him, but he hoped that he wouldn't notice them or that he would at least not come to visit them. If he was here, then that meant Rhona was here: Aislin couldn't find out.

To Saber's relief, he never stopped in. But to Saber's surprise, Ruari stopped in instead, just before he had to leave to the post office.

"How are you two feeling?" he asked, standing at their bedside.

"Much better, thanks," Saber replied. "Did you find someone to cover for us?"

He nodded enthusiastically. "It wasn't all that difficult, really. I employed two of my old friends, and they are more than happy to substitute you for the time being. They're also willing to exchange a day or two for you both during the week for the next while."

"That sounds great, Ruari!" Aislin said happily. She nuzzled Saber and licked him. "Now we can finally have an entire day with each other.

Saber nodded with a toothy smile. "Thank you, Ruari."

"My pleasure! My job is much easier than what William described it as. The lousy oaf probably had trouble with the basic arithmetic!"

They both chuckled.

He smiled softly at them and fiddled with his forepaws. "I uhm... I'm really glad that you two are well, and I'm glad that you two are continuing to be strong mates. You both remind me a lot of William and I... so it's soothing to know that you care so much about each other."

Saber returned the soft smile and climbed off of the bed to hug Ruari. He wrapped his wings around his friend and nuzzled him. Aislin even climbed down too, hugging Ruari from the other side.

"Thank you," Saber said.

"It means a lot to us, Ruari," she continued.

When they withdrew, he bounced excitedly. "I'm glad I met you." He glanced at the clock and said, "Woops! I am going to be late if I don't hurry. See you soon!"

They said goodbye and crawled back up on the bed together, careful not to tangle the tubes sticking out of them.

Dr. Blaire came in pushing their lunch on a cart. "I see you've had some visitors today," he commented. "I never knew a pair of dragons could have so many friends, especially human friends."

"Why's that?" Saber asked curiously, taking his tray of food.

"Well, I've actually never seen any human visitors for a dragon, and only a few dragons have had visitors. You two are quite the pair!"

Saber blushed and smiled, and a faint grin tugged at Aislin's lips.

"I tried to find the two men that rescued you two, but I haven't had any luck. No one here knows them or has seen them since."

Saber looked down disappointingly. "They're the only reason we're still alive... I wish I could at least tell them that."

Dr. Blaire smiled softly and knelt down at the foot of the bed. "I'm sure they know that. If they were seeking a reward, I'm sure they would have come back here to see you."

Saber nodded. "Thank you," he replied.

"Now, would you like the IVs taken out of your arm?" the doctor asked, gesturing to the tubes.

Saber nodded excitedly. "And Aislin's too?"

Dr. Blaire shook his head. "She's a bit behind you in her recovery. You're free to leave the hospital now, if you'd wish."

Saber grinned happily. "That's good news..." He looked at Aislin with a soft expression and continued, "But I'll be staying here with my mate."

"I figured as much," he said, chuckling. "Here, hold out your arms."

Saber did as he was told and felt the two needles leave his scales on both of his forearms. Saber sighed with relief and rubbed his scales. His arms felt a little numb, but it was nice to be able to move them freely.

"Thank you," he said.

The doctor smiled and replied, "You're welcome." He stood up and hauled the cart out of the room. "Aislin is recovering spectacularly as well, so she'll be free to go tomorrow."

Saber and Aislin smiled at each other happily as he left.

"I'm going to do so many things to you tomorrow..." she cooed and licked the tip of his snout.

Saber smirked and nuzzled her. "I can't wait."

Aislin and Saber ate their food in peace while watching cartoons.

Later that afternoon, Saber decided to go exploring a bit. He kissed Aislin and excitedly padded out into the hallway.

The hospital seemed entirely different out of his room. There were nurses, doctors, and other faculty members everywhere. It smelled odd, too, but it was a cleanly sort of smell. It was like walking into a whole different world!

But that wasn't the reason for his venture; he wanted to find Rhona.

He noticed a few, strange glances at him as he wandered around, but Saber didn't really care. There were a lot of human patients. Saber didn't see any other dragons.

As he approached the end of the hall, he peeked into the last room and saw a dragon with golden scales sitting in a chair: Kale. Then he saw Rhona limply lying on her bed. Saber gulped and stepped in.

Rhona hardly looked anything like herself. She was wrapped in all sorts of bandages, tubes were sticking out of her to two different machines, and a mask covered her maw, assisting her breathing. She looked half-dead.

Kale was the first to notice Saber. He jumped down from his chair and growled protectively, standing his ground so Saber couldn't walk any further.

Saber stopped. A hurt expression crossed his face.

"What are you doing here?" Kale growled, his teeth bared.

"I... I came to see Rhona," Saber said. He wanted to turn around and leave, but it was too late now; he was committed.

"She doesn't want to s--"

"Kale," Rhona weakly called to him. "It's not his fault."

Kale huffed and returned to his chair, eyeing Saber adamantly.

Saber ignored Kale's malicious stare and walked up to Rhona's bedside. She looked even worse up close. Her blue eyes seemed faded as if she were still clinging to life. Her normally pristine, white scales looked worn and dirty.

She weakly smiled at him. "I'm glad to see you again."

So many different emotions tossed and turned inside Saber. It felt like his stomach was flipped upside down and twisted into a knot. He gulped, feeling a lump in his throat. Anger made him want to lash out at her, but he suppressed it the best he could. He had thought about this, about what he wanted to say if he ever saw her again, but it was all stuck in his throat.

"I... I can't... I can't forgive you for what you did," he finally said, meeting Rhona's eyes. "We all nearly died that night... what were you thinking?" He blinked hard a few times to keep himself from crying. "Why would you do that?" he asked crossly.

Rhona sighed and looked down at the bed, not daring to meet his glare. "I... I really wanted to mate with you. I never meant for it to go so far... I never wanted anyone to get hurt."

"What were you expecting!?" Saber asked and raised his voice. He was failing to subdue his emotions, and he could feel them seeping out of him. He wanted to strike her right then and there.

"I--I don't know," she stated.

"Did you think that Aislin wouldn't do anything? Did you think that you could just walk out of there after... after what you did to me?"

"You wouldn't mate with me any other way... I had to take the chance."

Saber choked on an abrupt growl. "You're sick, Rhona... Aislin told me about Noland, how you stole him away from her... You hurt her, and you knew it." Saber grit his teeth together, a slight snarl curling his lips back. "Even after that first incident, you tried it with me... I thought you wanted to be Aislin's friend, but you were really just trying to get closer to me! All you cared about was mating with me!"

Saber growled and tried to settle himself down. He had never gotten so worked up before. The scales around his face felt hot. Rhona only stared blankly ahead, a dead expression. "You were too blind to see the consequences because of your selfish desires. I wanted to be your friend, but you destroyed that chance. I never want to see your face again."

Saber heard her sniffle and noticed that Rhona was crying. "I'm... I'm sorry." She sniffled again and wiped her tears away, covering her face with a paw. She sobbed and coughed, making Saber feel disgusted.

"You can be sorry in prison." He whirled around with his brow furrowed angrily while he snarled. Just as he exited the room, Kale padded up behind him.

"Saber," he said.

Saber turned and glared at him. "What?"

"What... what happened?" he asked timidly. "She won't tell me... I'm sorry for acting hostile toward you earlier... I didn't know it was her fault."

Saber told him a brief summary of what had transpired, leaving out a lot of details.

Kale's expression changed completely. It softened as his head drooped low. "I'm sorry... I didn't know." He looked damaged, but at that point Saber didn't really care.

Saber turned to leave as Kale walked solemnly back into the room. He breathed deeply in and out to calm himself and soon returned to Aislin, acting as if nothing had happened. He felt immensely better to have gotten that off his chest.

The afternoon passed by slowly and so did the evening. It was really boring being unable to do anything. The farthest Aislin could walk was the restroom. Knowing that they would be out of there the next day only made it worse for them.

By the time night rolled around, Saber was glad to find it easy to sleep. Aislin was even asleep before him, curled up on his chest. He had a few pleasant dreams before waking up the next morning, feeling lively and excited.

Dr. Blaire prepared them for release, removing all of the things connected to Aislin's body. He gave them each a new set of fresh bandages and breakfast and said that they would have to wait until a little after lunch time before they could leave.

Aislin tested out her forearms just like Saber had. She grinned happily at him.

Soon after that, William stopped in by himself, greeting Saber and Aislin. They both ran up and hugged him.

"Hey, hey! Careful!" he laughed as they both jumped up and embraced him. "I take it you're both gettin' out today?"

Aislin nodded happily. "The doctor said shortly after lunch," she explained.

"Great! Ruari and I would like to invite ya both to dinner tonight, if that's alright."

"What are you having?" Saber asked excitedly.

"I don't know yet. Ruari's makin' it!"

"Anything will be better than the food here," Aislin grumbled.

William chuckled. "I guess we can talk more later, but I just stopped by to say somethin' without Ruari bein' around. He'd probably laugh at me for it." He shook his head and knelt down, pulling them in for a smaller embrace. "I just wanted to say that I'm really proud of ya. After what happened, I wasn't sure what would happen to you two... You both remind me a lot of Ruari and I, so I'm glad ya pulled through. You two make a really amazing couple. I love you guys."

Saber and Aislin laughed brightly and nuzzled William. "You've never been good at speeches," Aislin teased.

"What? I thought that one was pretty good..."

Saber bought it. "I love you too!" He bounced up and down, excitedly licking and nuzzling William.

William laughed and stood up, pushing Saber away. "Alright, alright. I'll see ya later tonight?"

They nodded and waved goodbye to William as he left.

The rest of the morning passed quickly, and Dr. Blaire soon returned with their lunch. He gave it to them and asked a few questions while they ate.

"Alright, that does it," he said finally. "You two are free to go."

Saber and Aislin both thanked Dr. Blaire immensely before padding happily out of the hospital together.

When they walked outside, they were surprised to see snow littering the ground everywhere. It fell from the sky in large, fluffy specks, glinting in what daylight shined through the gray clouds. Saber meeped joyfully and jumped in the nearest snow bank.

Aislin laughed at him and helped him out. "I can't believe there's this much snow already." Snow clung to his violet scales.

"Isn't it amazing!" Saber exclaimed and walked off of the concrete path, finding himself in a few inches of snow. His paws were buried completely.

"No, it's not!" Aislin growled. "Let's go before you freeze your paws off."

"Let's go to the park!"

"Why don't we go home where it's warm?" she suggested.

"It's right over there!" Saber pointed at the park just a block away. They could see it easily.

Aislin shook her head reluctantly. "Fine, but just for a few minutes."

Saber leapt into the skies. He wobbled a bit at first--his wings felt stiff--but he was soon back to normal. Aislin caught up with him and they landed in the middle of the park.

Saber ran around joyously, jumping and playing in the snow, while Aislin simply pawed at it. Then Saber pounced on her and pushed her into the fluffy ground. Aislin hissed and rolled on top of him, forcing Saber down as she stood over him.

"I can't believe you did that!" she growled. "I'm go--"

Her complaining was shut down as Saber used his wings to toss snow at her. Catching her off guard, Saber grabbed her and pushed her onto her back into more snow. Aislin growled and hissed furiously, baring her fangs while she writhed beneath him. Saber grinned and nibbled on her neck.

"I can't believe you!" she growled and threw him off. "Watch the bandages!" They rolled around in the snow for a few minutes in a play-fight for dominance. Saber was careful not to hurt Aislin, but she didn't really seem to care about her injuries.

Aislin eventually won, grinning victoriously as she loomed over him. They were both panting raggedly, their breath forming clouds in front of their snouts before disappearing into the wind.

Saber giggled at Aislin. Even when she was dressed in bandages she was beautiful. Her gray scales were covered in snow and a huge, toothy smile spread her lips. She was laughing.

"Did you have fun?" Saber asked.

She nibbled his neck and replied, "Maybe a little..."

"I thought you didn't like the snow?" he teased and tossed some more at her.

Aislin pinned his wings and growled playfully. "I don't... but I do like playing with you."

He chuckled and embraced her lovingly. He rolled her onto her back as she yelped in surprise. Instead of pinning her, he wrapped himself around her warmly and enclosed their bodies within his wings. "Aislin?"

"Yes?"

"I think Alia would be a good name."

"Oh? And what if we have a male?"

"What do you think?"

She grinned and replied, "Finnian."

"I think that's a beautiful name," Saber said. He looked deeply into her emerald eyes and touched snouts with her. "I love you."

A soft smile curled her lips. She kissed him and then licked his nose. "I love you too."
