Two Months Earlier
At the port in Wolferia the battleship Wolfs Fury was receiving final preparations. Crews hustled about the mighty warship to make sure she was ready for the next mission. The captain and the ships senor officers were in the ship's briefing room.
Admiral Edwards entered room. The officers stood at attention. Edwards put them at ease and went to the issue at hand. A coyote of brown fur and green eyes he was. Despite his small size he had a commanding presence wherever he went.
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen" he said, "There will be no time for questions at this briefing, so listen well. Three days ago at 1800 hours a rebel force infiltrated a Camerix naval base. The feline government claims the intensions of this force are still unknown. The rebels got in the base and boarded every vessel at dock. They then sabotaged every vessel placing explosives on the ships hulls, bridges, and engines. Lucky for us, your ship was not there at dock at the time of the attack. The rebels spared three ships, which they hijacked from the base and made it out to sea. Three cruisers were taken that are heavily armed. Your mission is to go out and track down these three stolen ships in hopes that tensions will fall between the canines and felines of Anthrexion. Once you find them your ships orders are to not to engage the enemy. There will be a small support aircraft carrier. You will send coordinates of the stolen ships to this carrier. The carrier will send aircraft to suppress the enemy ships' air defenses. Then your ship will cover the helicopter teams the carrier will send next. The helicopters will drop marines onto the stolen ships; the marines will proceed to take back the ships. Captain Thron, the fate of Camerix cities lies on your ships ability to find the enemy vessels. The cats came to us in a time of need. This action you take may very well avert a full war. You are to leave port immediately. I wish you and your ship and crew good luck. Do your job well because your ship is the last battleship." Admiral Edwards walked out of the briefing room without another word.
The battleship Wolfs Fury was soon ready to leave port. The ship was one thousand feet long, and 145 feet wide at the widest point. A ship that proudly displayed the power of the canines of Anthrexion.
Captain Thron entered the bridge. His officers stood at attention and he let them at ease. The silver furred wolf sat in the captain's chair. "All hands prepare to leave port."
"Captain," communications officer Emma Brown said, "We have clearance from port control to depart." She was a fire orange furred fox Thron had known for a long time.
"Then let's get out of here. Ahead one fourth speed." The Wolfs Fury moved forward and was soon out at sea in the open ocean. Once at open sea, the captain announced, "Do a full ship's test to make sure all weapons and ship functions are fully operational."
The first officer, blue and white wolf, Matthew confirmed his orders and began the test. "Starting engine test captain" he said.
Chief engineer Wiese said through the intercom, "Captain, the engines are fully functional and running smoothly. I can give you full speed at any time." The bear said with a proud smile.
Matt Heath the chief weapons officer stated, "Sir all weapons are accounted for and working." He too a fox of orange fur.
Lieutenant Wilcox was in charge of ships helm and his team was ready as well. The chef sensors officer was Coble and the lookout in the lookouts tower was Rinehart. Both crew members reported there stations fully functional. The Captain was pleased with the report. The battleship Wolfs Fury was ready to take on any threat.
