Arrrrrrgh We There Yet?
#23 of The Amazing Race 2
On the last leg of the Amazing Race, the teams traveled to Buenos Aires. The soccer was fun, the red meat was tasty, but it seemed everyone had trouble with the Roadblock. Tammy cheated... AGAIN. And even with a penalty, the Olympians still won. Meanwhile, the twins gave the Policefurs the cold shoulder. So, in order to make up for that, DeeDee voluntarily took last place. However, it was non-elimination so no one went home. Only 5 teams remain in the race. Who will make it to the final 4 and who will walk out the door? Only one way to find out, keep watching... the Amazing Race.

"Welcome back to Argentina, where yesterday's winners are getting the first clue." Toner says. Tammy steps up to the clue box.
"Route Info," she reads, "go to the Bahamas to find your next clue." The Bahamas are known for its beaches, pirate history, and coral reefs. Today, teams will fly to Nassau and once they do, they must find their next clue.
"Let's go!" Rachel urges. As teams get the clue, get into cabs and drive to the airport, the twins continue to give Diesel & DeeDee the silent treatment.
"Shouldn't we talk to them at least?" Kitty asks.
"No time." Kit says. "This is a race and were in the final five. Every. Second. Counts." It would if it weren't for the fact that all teams are usually on the same flight.

"First place for the seventh time. It's really feeling like a competition." Tammy says. "There's no doubt we're going to win this show."
"Is there ever going to be one day where you're not gonna cheat?" Rachel asks.
"Probably not."
"I thought so." Rachel slumps back in her seat, ready to fall asleep. This race has been pretty stressful for her. As for Tammy, she's been having fun sabotaging everything since India. And that was almost over 10 days ago.
Meanwhile, in coach, Kitty walks down the aisle and sits next to DeeDee. "My sister is still pretty mad at you." She says.
"I know." DeeDee says. "Like I care what she thinks. I knew this alliance wouldn't last the entire season. So you can tell her that no matter what she thinks, I don't care. From now on, it's every team for themselves."
"Ok." Kitty stands up, but then whispers to her, "I trust you again. You pretty much proved that when you slowed down on purpose." She walks back up and sits with her sister again. Kit's asleep, knowing that it will be worth it when she wakes up.
"Dude, we're still in the final five." Jasper says. "It feels like we've been here forever."
"I know." Mitch says. "What didn't help was that two day bus trip from Brazil. It's almost as if I lost my sense of time or something."
"I don't blame you. But, hey, we still have a shot at this. Don't we?"
Barbara & Eddy are surprised they're still in the race. They haven't really done much except argue for most of their time. "I'm soooooooo ready to go home." Eddy says, slouching. "I feel like my head it spinning and I'm gonna burst one of these days."
"Oh quit whining." Barbara says. "You've handled worse when you are those bad eggs in Siberia. Besides, all we have to do is keep beating out the competition. And as long as Tammy doesn't target us, we'll be good."
"You don't actually fear her, do you?" Eddy asks, sitting up.
"No! But I know what she's capable of. Trust me, she'll do anything to get the million bucks."
"Remind me how we became part of her superteam."

Once the teams arrive in Nassau as 11:53 am, they get their and immediately drive off. "A what now?" Kit asks as she drives.
"I already told you." Kitty says. She holds up the clue and reads it again. "Route Info: drive to the Pirates of Nassau Museum to get your next challenge."
"Ok. Just making sure. I've read a lot about the Bahamas before but never did I ever come across and mention of pirates here."
"I'm just ready for whatever is next." The twins make it to the museum first. Kitty takes the next clue and reads it to her sister. "One-Way: search through the replica ship inside for a bag of gold doubloons. Once you do, hand the bag to a local worker marked with the Race logo and he'll give you the next challenge."
"Alright, let's do this!" Kit says. The girls head inside in first place. They immediately search around and find the replica inside. As they get on and start looking, the restaurant critics and the Olympians make it to the museum.
"Where the heck are the Policefurs and frat bros?" Eddy asks.
"Who cares?" Barbara asks. "It just means we're in the lead and hopefully one of them is history." Tammy & Rachel immediately go below a deck and they start rummaging around. Kit & Kitty stay on the top deck to look around. Jasper & Mitch soon arrive. They spot the twins and they look with them.
"It's like we're back in Brazil." Jasper says. "We're working together as a superteam again." Kit opens her muzzle to say something but Kitty pulls her aside.
"Listen," Kitty says, "I know that the superteam challenge is over, but the other three teams are an Evil Oasis, remember?"
"Yes. What does that have to do with those guys?" Kit asks.
"We need all the help we can get. It's either us or them and if they go home, were outnumbered three to one." Kit sighs at the realization that Kitty's right.
"Fine. But just until one of those three pairs are gone, ok?"
"Yes." Kitty says. The twins walk up to the frat bros, Kit does all the talking.
"Hey guys, me and my sister were talking and you're right. Even though the Brazil challenge was days ago, we should keep the superteam thing alive."
"Really?" Mitch asks, a smile growing on his muzzle. His tail wags a little bit too.
"You're on." Jasper reaches out a paw and Kit shakes it. As the Policefurs finally show up, the Olympians and critics are having trouble with the challenge. Both teams decided to look below deck.
"You'd think that these challenges were getting easier." Rachel says. She looks under a few tarps and through some things of rope but doesn't see any bags. Tammy's rage causes her to lift an entire crate and smash it open.
"We haven't looked in these things yet." Tammy says. She skims through the broken pieces of wood but doesn't see anything. "I guess we'll have to keep looking." She lifts up a crate to smash another but Rachel, Eddy, and Barbara stop her.
"You mad woman, are you trying to kill us or something?!" Eddy says.
"Put it down!" Rachel says. Tammy complies. "Clearly no one ever showed you how to open a damn crate." She opens the lid of it and finds it to be empty. Diesel & DeeDee come below deck to search.
"Well what do you know? The rest of the Oasis is here." DeeDee says.
"If you think that that was ever an actual alliance you're only kidding yourself." Tammy says.
"Oh I oughtta-"
"DeeDee! Not now." Diesel stops her before any swear words can come out. "We have a challenge to finish we'll deal with them later." The two spread out and start searching. Diesel searches under more tarps, Barbara looks around unsure of where to look, and Rachel knocks her fist on the floor to see if there's any loose boards.
Jasper has the same strategy Barbara has. As the twins and Mitch look around and find unopened barrels, his attention goes upwards towards to an observation tower. He looks closer and sees a small brown bag tied to the telescope. "Guys! I found one!" Jasper says with excitement.
"Awesome job, man!" Mitch says. Kit & Kitty look inside some of the barrels. Jasper grips onto the wooden pole and climbs upwards. Is how pirates get up here? He asks to himself. When he's right under the basket, he reaches up, grabs the bag, and gently pulls it off the telescope.
He jumps off, bag in paw. Kitty holds one too. "We found one in a barrel." She explains.
"Sweet! We're headin first place!" Jasper says.
"Enough chit-chat! To the next challenge!" Kit says. The four of them get off the ship and run up to the worker (blue coyote; Travis) with an Amazing Race cap on.
"Here you go, dude." Mitch says as he hands them the bags in exchange for the next clue. "Route Info: drive out to Athol Island for your next clue." The four of them head out, tied for first, leaving the Evil Oasis in last. They share a cab with Kit driving.
"Hey guys! I got a joke for you." Jasper says. "What did the pirate say to the guy manning the cannons?"
"What?" Kitty asks.
"Arrrrgh you sure about that?" Kitty cracks up with Jasper & Mitch bursting out laughing. Kit stays focused on the task at hand: get to Athol Island. After a crazy joke-filled twenty minute drive, the twins and frat bros make it to as far to the Island as they can. Kit runs up to the clue box, eager to start the next task.
"It's a Roadblock," she says, "a solo search for more doubloons." In this Roadblock, players who didn't try to tie up a dummy in Argentina must put on a snorkeling mask and breathing tube and go underwater to search for a second bag of gold coins. Once they do, they have to bring it back to shore where them and their partner must run north to Smugglers Beach where the checkpoint lies. Last team there could be heading home.
"I guess I'm doing it." Jasper says.
"Hey! We get to do this together!" Kitty says. The two quickly get in the water and start searching.

Back at the museum, the Oasis is still searching for bags of gold coins. "Where the hell could they be?!?!" Tammy asks.
"If you knew, you wouldn't be here." Barbara mutters. DeeDee looks by herself. She sees something glow behind a bunch of other crates and looks closer. It's an opened bag of coins. She grabs them and humidities out of there.
"Laters!" DeeDee shouts as her and Diesel get off the ship and go to get the next clue.
"Must you be so obnoxious like that?" Diesel asks.
"Whatever. Hopefully the Olympians finally take a hint and go home."
"Where haven't we searched?" Barbara asks.
"Wanna try the crates again?" Eddy asks. He walks over and opens one. A small brown bag sits inside. He quickly snatches sit and runs out, leaving the Olympians in last place.
"We're in last???" Tammy yells. "C'mon! We have to keep looking!" She literally tosses stuff around, frantic to come out of last place. Rachel keeps her cool and looks in a place they haven't checked yet: around the ladder. She walks behind it, and wedged in the back where no one would see it is a small brown bag.
"Yes! Found one!" Rachel exclaims. Quickly, she grabs it and her and Tammy run back up the ladder to catch up.
Back at Athol Island, Jasper and Kitty are the two to start the Roadblock. Neither of them thought that the bags would be hidden in plain sight. They split up to cover more ground.
Jasper digs through the sand, thinking they could be buried. Kitty skims around where they are. Maybe they were wrong and they would see the glint of gold that they saw on the ship back at the Museum. She looks over and sees a big green underwater plant and something unusual behind it. She lifts a big lead out of the way and sees 5 brown bags of gold coins sitting there.
She reaches out and then hesitates when she notices something moving in front of the bags. Something big, round, and pointy. A sea urchin. Jasper comes over to Kitty and sees the urchin blocking the bags. He quickly thinks and gets an idea.
Jasper grabs a huge rock and tosses it towards the urchin. It moves and starts coming towards Jasper. The two run away from it, when Kitty realizes the bags are unguarded. She quickly grabs two, waits for Jasper to see her and motions for him to return to the surface.
Kitty makes it back first with Jasper returning a few seconds later. Both out of breath as they quickly strip the gear off them. "What happened down there?" Kit asks.
"Sea urchin!" Kitty cries. "Run!!!!" Kitty and Jasper run north as much as they can with their confused partners shortly behind them. At the same time, Diesel & DeeDee arrive and they get the next clue.
"What the heck was all that about?" DeeDee asks.
"Not sure." Diesel says. He reads the clue and hands the snorkeling gear to DeeDee. It was her turn. She gets it on fast as the other two teams arrive.

Toner paces at the rug, waiting for the first team to arrive. His ears perk up when he hears screaming from a girl and a guy. He looks over and sees Jasper & Mitch and Kit & Kitty running to him. Jasper, fearing that urchin might somehow get on land and chase them again, runs faster and makes it to the carpet first. "Fraternity brothers win." Toner says. Kit & Kitty also run onto it then off. "Twins come in second." The four of them keep running, making Toner confused. They eventually stop when Jasper accidentally runs into a tree.

When Tammy & Rachel and Barbara & Eddy arrive, Eddy and Rachel get in their scuba gear. "Weren't you the one who tied up that dummy?" Barbara asks Rachel.
"Yes." She says. "But I wasn't supposed to. That was supposed to be Tammy's challenge, not mine." She dives in the water, followed by Eddy. DeeDee already searches underwater for the second bag. Eddy looks at the hole Jasper dig earlier and tries the same thing in other spots. Rachel tries looking under some old reefs. DeeDee violently tosses stuff around to try and find the bags.
When she lifts up a plant to throw it, she sees three brown bags and the urchin from earlier. I'm not letting a sea critter stop me from getting a million bucks, she thinks. DeeDee growls at the urchin and it scampers away. "That's what I thought." She said out loud even though no one can hear her. She grabs a bag and heads back to shore.
The urchin goes over to Eddy, whose tail flows with the way of the water. He doesn't notice anything wrong until one of the urchin's needles pokes his tail. He screams loud, sending oxygen bubbles upward. Those who have to sit out see that. "What the heck is going on down there?" Barbara asks.
DeeDee makes it back to the surface where her and Diesel run for it. Rachel looks around and sees the pile of bags and grabs one as the urchin comes back for it. However, the urchin actually goes past it and goes away. Rachel swims back up to the surface and her and Tammy run for it.
"Where are you, Eddy?" Barbara asks/whimpers. Her ears pinned and tail limp, as she can do is watch. The bubbles stop and everything grows quiet. Please be ok, she was in her head. The silence almost drives her mad, but she sees her partner come back up for air. "Did you get it?"
"Yes." Eddy says, holding up the bag. "Now if we hurry, we might still come in fourth."

"Policefurs come in third." Toner announces. Diesel & DeeDee hi5 and they step off the rug. "That leaves the Olympians and the critics. Which two member of the Evil Oasis will come in last?" Tammy & Rachel run as fast as they can. Barbara & Eddy run right behind them. They slowly pass them, but the Olympians use all the energy they have left into running faster.
This repeats until one steps one before the other. "Tammy & Rachel come in fourth." Toner says.
"Yes!" Tammy cheers. "And I didn't even have to sabotage anyone."
"See how easy it is to do good and not do terrible things?" Rachel asks.
"Nope." The Olympians steps off as the critics make it.
"Barbara & Eddy, why am I not surprised?" Toner asks. "For the third time this race, you're last."
"But it's non-elimination so we get to stay, right?" Barbara asks.
"No. You're finally cut from the race."
"What?!" Both critics say at the same time.
"You heard me. You're out." Barbara & Eddy turn around and walk away, glum faces on.
"That could've gone better." Barbara says. "And I'm not talking about today, I mean the whole race. Me and you have done nothing but bicker more the mass majority of it."
"I still had fun though." Eddy says. "Personally, I never thought I was gonna win anyways. But coming in 5th is pretty good."
"It still would've been nice to win. Whatever. Now why don't we go home and visit Tommy & Regina's restaurant again. I've been crab in' some Italian."
"Sure." Eddy chuckles.
