We where on the way home when Keven slams on the breaks and the car comes to a stop, he started to back-up and said "good thing there is no one behind us... Eh, Greyson?"I have learned not to question this mutt when he does something like this, he usually just says "you'll see"Again the car stopped and he pointed out the window right next to me, he said "hey look... a moose!"I looked and saw more than one moose "A moose?" I asked. Keven did not respond, he just stared at the moose. There where five moose, three where female or cows and two where only calfs born this year and much more difficult to tell the gender of."come on" I said "lets go before we scare them"Keven nodded and started to drive away. We arrive at home soon after, we get out of the car and Keven asked "want to go for a hike in the woods or something?"I glanced at my arm and realized I had no watch "What time is it?" I asked.Keven looked at his arm and said "2:15" he opened the house door, we went inside."sure" I said "but why do you want to go for a hike now, we never go for a hike in the winter"Keven started putting winter boots on and said "Because we never go for hikes in the winter""sounds good for me" I said and started setting ready to go. Winter boots and a simple hoodie is enough to keep me warm enough considering my thick, long fur.Keven's fur is only half as long as my fur, so he has to wear something thicker and some warm pants.Keven was leading the way as we walked down the ski-doo trail. We got on a very small clearing, not much wider than the trail and about 50 feet long. Keven asked "remember this bog?""how could I not" I said "you fell in it about 20 times this summer" and I'm not lying when I say 20 times!Keven laughed and turned left, and walked away from the ski-doo trail. To my surprise, the bog extends about a hundred feet and than a small, frozen stream leads from a old, over-grown trail. We started walking up this old trail."where are we going?" I asked after I nearly slipped on the ice.He sighed and said "I just want to see if it's still here"I asked "how far?" should have asked what it was."depends" he said."on what?" I asked as I cracked a small branch-off."on whether the bushes stay like this or if they open-out" he said.I started to break the small branch into tiny bits, I asked "if they stay like this, how long?"He sighed, I could see his breath this time. He said "almost a half hour""and if they open-out?" I asked."15 minuets" he said. I nodded, not like he saw me nod or anything. We ended-up walking for 20 minuets, we came to a clearing that looked like it was cut-out and not a bog. More-or-less in the center was a small log cabin. "I'm surprised its still here" Keven said "its like 35 years old""dang!" I said "I'm

surprised too!" I slowly walked towards it and started to inspect the logs, they are so old that they turned grey like drift wood, the nails where still in place and the ends of the logs are only slightly rotten. I said "looks really good too"He opened the door, even more surprise, the hinges didn't break, but they did make quite the racket. I walked around and went into the cabin, now I notice the small gaps  between some of the logs. "that will make the place pretty cold" I said "we need some kind of expanding foam"I turned to look out the only window and something hit me on the back, I spun around and saw a can on the floor. I picked it up, the label said "high expanding foam"I said "you bought this before you even knew this was still here?""no" he said "I bought these" I looked over to where he was holding three more cans. He said "I really want to fix this place"I said "I understand""Can you even remember this place?" Keven asked.I said "not a bit!"He said "yeah... last time we where here, we where like... ten" he went outside and said "I'm going to grab some fire wood, you start spraying foam on the inside of the cabin"Before long, Keven was back with fire wood and started helping me spraying foam. It was hard to get the foam on the wall near the furnace, but when that wall was done, Keven lit a fire in the furnace and said "the heat will help set the foam"Turns-out we had just enough foam, we left the window and door open and filled the furnace with wood than went home.
