An Alternate Path, hiatus explanation

Well, I've been sitting on chapters 5, 6, 7 and 8 for a while, and I've written myself into a corner. The main character is facing a dilemma which I am unable to resolve. It is also a crisis which I cannot deal with in this forum.
So I'm putting it on hold until I can get past these issues.
