Joe Morgan and his new wife Shanti make the best out some unfortunate circumstances during their honeymoon. Spin-off of https://www.sofurry.com/view/947565, written for Robert Baird as a Christmas present. Thanks to Rob and CrimsonRuari for beta-reading and encouragement.

Joe Morgan sighed wistfully, admiring his new bride. Her delicate lacy veil, now thrown back over her head; her bright white wedding dress with its forest green waist and subtle fleur de lis accents; the white gold wedding ring shining against her fluffy black finger. Her radiant beauty was marred by only one, tiny thing: the scowl on her white-masked face.

Of course in Joe's current mood, even Shanti's scowl was kinda cute right now. But it was rare for her to get annoyed. Her optimism sometimes seemed boundless, and she had certainly seemed to enjoy the wedding and the reception. She deftly charmed Joe's family, gracefully answered the usual tired questions like "Where are you from" and "No, where are you from originally," and had generally handled the stresses of the day quite well. But the look she gave him halfway through the first dance - and several times after that - made it clear that she was more than ready to quit the wedding hall for somewhere a lot more private.

Which, come to think of it, was probably why the latest setback was getting to her.

She sighed slowly, as if to let out the stress."I'm sorry, could you go through that again? We reserved this room six months ago, but we don't have one anymore?"

The light-brown otter at the front desk looked haggard, but had a look of utmost professionalism etched on his face. If he was tired of answering this question, it didn't show much. "My apologies, miss, but there was an error in the system-"

A skeptical look set on the red panda's face immediately. "Meaning, you overbooked like hotels always do and you just happened to miscalculate how many people would show up."

A flash of embarrassment on the clerk's face showed that Shanti had guessed correctly, but he somehow managed to recover his grace. "Well... we do have a contingency plan for this, of course. We will be happy to provide you with a room at a nearby hotel and free shuttle service."

Joe's passive role in the conversation ended when his wife turned to him. Her ears drooped and her face spelled out defeat - she was never very good at arguing with customer service to get what she wanted. "What do you think, babe? Good enough?"

Picking out a hotel for their honeymoon had been a highlight of the wedding preparations, and this hotel was one of the best they could afford in downtown Atlanta, but there were better things to do with his wedding day than fight with the staff. So he agreed, "Of course, hon." He turned to the clerk. "When can we get that shuttle?"

The clerk visibly relaxed and nodded to them. "Right away, if you need, sir. Just wait in the lobby and they'll come get you." At Joe's nod, the mustelid tapped a few times on his screen and politely sent them away.

The border collie and his new wife settled into a couch to wait. Ten minutes passed. Twenty. Around the thirty-minute mark, both of the newlyweds were fidgeting. Finally, after about forty-five minutes, Shanti sighed and smiled wearily. "I'm gonna go see what's up. Text me if you find our driver, mkay?" Joe perked his ears up and nodded. This was one of the best things about Shanti: even when things were a little stressful, she could keep her mood up.

That wouldn't last, however - Shanti returned with her ears flat against her head and her shoulders sagging. "He said the only available driver isn't responding. Traffic is at a standstill because of the game. He suggested we walk. It's about six blocks from here." At this, Joe stood up and smoothed out his tux. She gave him a lopsided smile. "Guess we'd better get started, mm?"

Walking six blocks in the humid, sweltering heat of a high summer afternoon turned out to not be the best idea in wedding clothes. Joe carried their bags, despite Shanti's initial insistence that she help. "You've got the high heels, hon. You've gotta watch your step." The logic of that had swayed her, particularly since she did wobble a bit in her formal footwear.

Finally they arrived at their new hotel. Shanti's face visibly fell when she looked around inside, and after a quick inspection Joe could see why - it was a noticeable downgrade from the one they had booked. He nudged the red panda and whispered, "Well, it's not like we're spending much time outside of our room, right?" This earned him a playful grin.

The lop-eared rabbit at the front desk had more bad news, however. "Sorry, sir, all the deluxe suites have been booked. All we have left are regular suites, with two double beds."

Shanti rolled her eyes, her expression somewhere between annoyed and bemused. "Can we at least get someone to push the beds together?" Joe had to wonder briefly if that was a serious request.

The clerk didn't seem think so, as he ignored her and continued talking to Joe. "I'm afraid most of the hotels in the area are booked up, sir. We are one of the few with _any _rooms left." Joe sighed in acquiescence and showed the rabbit his ID. While the room keys were being printed, he indulged Shanti with a bemused look, his eyebrows raised as if to say, _Hey, we don't need that much bed. _She seemed to catch his meaning, judging by the poorly-suppressed smile and the embarrassed way she looked away.

Keys in hand, Joe triumphantly started making his way to the elevators. Despite the wrench thrown into their plans for a luxurious honeymoon, he was eager for the night ahead of him. A three-star regular suite could be made as fun as a four-star deluxe suite! He could take the extra pillows to make the bed comfier. They could take a warm shower together, and if they had to share a single shower head, that wasn't so bad. Hopefully there was nice soap, though. You always need nice--

Joe's train of thought was interrupted by a sharp cry of pain behind him.

He turned around in time to see Shanti hit the ground hard, her knee cracking against the tiled floor of the lobby. She inhaled sharply through gritted teeth, her jet-black hands clenched into fists and her eyes squeezed shut. Joe was at her side in the next instant, his arms wrapped under hers to help her sit up. She choked back a sob, then another, and held him tightly.

After about a minute, her breathing became more regular, and she relaxed her grip and looked up at him. There were tears in her eyes - the collie was struck by the way her pained look lanced through him. He rubbed her shoulders soothingly, kissed her nose, and did his best not to let his voice shake as he joked, "High-heels are such a pain."

She sniffled, smiling up at him. "Right?"

After removing the offending footwear, Shanti gingerly stood up with Joe steadying her. A quick test of the ankle she'd twisted showed that it wasn't quite weight-bearing, but it wouldn't need much more than an icepack, to both of their reliefs. The trip to the room was now an awkward combination of hopping and limping, Joe struggling to keep both of their suitcases in tow while keeping an arm around Shanti.

When they finally managed to get to their room, Joe deposited the luggage and helped his wife to the nearest bed. His arm wrapped around her and his tail wagging, he nosed her cheek, then her neck, and finally kissed her shoulder. From this vantage point he grinned up at her and tried to boost her spirits."I know it's been a rough day, but I promise the night will be a lot better."

She didn't respond for a moment. A quick inspection of her face showed that something else was wrong. When he asked, she let out a shaky sigh and leaned into him. "I wanted tonight to be special. I wanted things to... be perfect."

"D'you mean the wedding? Like, how half the flowers were dead on arrival? We should totally get our money back. Or at least half of it."

This brought a small chuckle out of her. "No, no... weddings aren't perfect. That's fine. But tonight was..." She looked up at him, her eyes full of nostalgia, joy, and disappointment. "The first time... our first time, way back when... that was so special for me."

He squeezed her side. "For both of us."

She nodded. "And I just wanted tonight to be a little like that. Except way, way sexier."

He grinned down at her. "What about this isn't sexy?"

"Hm, I don't know, I'm... I'm so tired. And my wedding dress is completely messed up. And I'm going to have to hop my way around the room! I was going to do a striptease with the dress, y'know. I don't think I'm skilled enough to do it on one leg." That brought a laugh out of Joe. She continued, "Why, what about this is sexy?"

In response he rolled his eyes and squeezed her again, trying to bring her closer to him. "Well, it's you." Her skeptical look made him chuckle. "I'm serious! It's you. And... this will be the first time I get to fuck you as my wife. I'll-" he turned briefly to nip her ear, dropping his voice to a low hush as he did so, "- I'll be tying you for real, now, with the knowledge that I'll get to do it again, and again, and..." he drifted off, his eyes unfocusing a bit with the distraction of the thought. After a few seconds, he forced himself back to the present. "And I know you wanted a really swanky hotel for the honeymoon. But right now there's no dissertation to worry about, no neighbors to bother... well, except the people in the rooms next to us, but screw them, we don't know them." This got a snicker out of her. "But tonight is special because I get to focus entirely. On. You."

With these last few words he walked his hand from her side up to the neck of her dress, pulling down on the zipper tentatively. She sighed and smiled, relaxing into him. "Mmm.. the dress only comes off once, though. It took forever to get it on."

Joe only chuckled in response and leaned back to take in the view as the bright white parted to revealed the plush red fur underneath. After reaching the end of the zipper, he slowly ran both paws up the fur of Shanti's back, taking time to savor the plushness of it. She shivered, leaning into his touch. With a deliberate slowness he slipped the straps of the dress off her shoulders, leaning forward again to admire her from the front. Her eyes were closed and her face was visibly relaxed, a dreamlike smile forming on her lips.

The dress, as well as the rest of her clothing, came off in a similarly slow fashion. Joe took the time to savor every inch of Shanti - squeezing her rump playfully to make her giggle, lapping a broad tongue over her nipples until they were perked, slowly caressing her thighs while his ears swiveled to catch the sound of her breath hitching in quiet gasps.

Then it was her turn, and she took her time to methodically undress her collie. Every once in a while she would look up at him with a burning hunger in her eyes, much like the looks she'd given him at the wedding. Finally she held his gaze with that look, pulling down the last layer of his clothing, and he felt a heat start to build up deep inside him.

His outlet for that heat was the kiss he gave her, passionate and eager. He tried to keep himself going slow, to focus on her and relax, but that heat was getting more and more insistent with every moan he heard, every squeeze of her fingers. He finally broke the kiss and buried his muzzle into her neck. "Oh god, Shanti, I need you so bad."

To this plea she responded by kissing his cheek and whispering in his ear, "Then take me, pup."

That encouragement was all he needed. He scooted her gently but swiftly further onto the bed, then swung over to sit on his knees, his hips just inches from hers. After taking a moment to admire her - the way she looked at him, the curves of her body, the luxuriousness of her pelt - he leaned down to kiss her again. When she wrapped her legs around him he took the hint - he briefly reached down from caressing her sides to guide himself to her. He waited a moment, then dipped his head down to lick at her neck as he slowly slid into her.

The way she moaned tapped into that heat, and a part of him wanted to take all of her immediately. He resisted, though, and instead he gave a couple short strokes to tease her. His reward was a firm grip on his shoulders and a half-groan from the red panda beneath him. "Take me more than that."

He chuckled and, after another teasing pull, relented. As he hilted her, he saw her gasp and heard a quiet, low moan; belatedly, he realized the moan had come from him. The feel of her beneath him and the warmth of her around him was overpowering, and spurred him on almost as much as the quiet moans she made with every movement.

He pulled out and pushed back in fully, finding it impossible to do any more teasing. As he sped up, Shanti relaxed underneath him, rubbing his neck firmly and tilting her head back with her eyes closed tight. Each thrust pushed out another moan from her, and before long Joe's own grunts joined it.

Steadily the base of his length swelled. His ears pinning back, the dog wanted nothing more than to keep himself inside his lover to tie her. But for once he resisted - tonight was supposed to be special, after all - and shortened his thrusts to make them more shallow. When Shanti furrowed her brow and tried to pull herself up onto him, he leaned down and whispered, "Shh, don't worry, pet. I'll tie you, trust me."

She groaned, opening her eyes and nodding up at him, and it was suddenly much more difficult to keep his pacing. His thrusts became more erratic, his breath came in irregular pants. Finally, when he was sure that he could achieve the effect he desired, he grinned down at his love - his wife - and asked her in staccato, "Ready-- to get-- tied for real?"

Her eager nod sent another thrill through him and he took her hips into his hands to steady her, then pushed insistently into her, grinding his knot against her. She moaned, and her moan got louder as he kept grinding, until finally with a sudden bump against her hips he slipped in all at once. She clenched against him reflexively and he yelped in surprise, then finally lost all control. He started thrusting again, this time hard and fast, jerking in short motions against the knot that kept them locked together. The tension in him built up until he couldn't take it anymore. "Oh fuck-- oh fuck- Shanti!" Two more quick thrusts followed as his climax hit him, the pleasure and relief coursing through him like fire as each spasm gave his appreciative lover more of his warmth. For her part, she squeezed him tightly with her arms and legs, moaning and murmuring electrifying phrases like "ohyesthat'sit" and "ohgodthat'ssogood!"

His peak faded slowly, and finally Joe let himself relax down onto the panting form underneath him. After a few more moments he hugged her to him, gently guiding her so they could roll onto their sides. He grasped her and massaged her and nipped at her ear, and once he had caught his breath he whispered, "How was that? Special?"

She moaned softly and grinned up at him, giving him a quick kiss before responding. "Of course it was special."

"Mm? How come?"

"Cause it was you."

At this he could only chuckle. He pulled her close to him and sighed happily, letting himself drift off with his new wife in his arms and his new life ahead of him.
