#10 of Lord of arms- human world

Well, I just hit my tenth submission with this, and I'm pretty proud, I guess? I _could've _updated a few days earlier, but I got lazy because it was a holiday season. On that note, I offer a extremely late 'happy christmas' and 'happy new year' to you all! It starts getting on my nerves now that I'm a year older.... Anyhow, chapter 9, and enjoy!

Chapter 9: You never knew what you were with

Will

I wasn't sure where I was, although I was certain that I was dreaming. I was back in the same dark chamber in my last dreams, except that it was no longer dark. The 'room' actually reminded me more of a hallway. It was long, with pillars lining the place. It was all done in white, and it sparkled so much that it started to hurt my eyes. Suddenly, a voice boomed from behind.

"Well, I hope that you learned your lesson now, boy!"

The speaker was the white lion from before. Back then, I never really saw him properly, except that he was white. When he came closer, I tried not to step back. He towered over me, possibly around eight feet or so. I knew that some werebeasts got taller and bigger when they transformed, but it was unnerving.

"Now, I'm taking care of the demon, so you'll be fairly safe. Which gives us time to talk." the lion rumbled as he grabbed my shoulders and went down the hall.

"Who are you?" I asked as I was dragged along. I had the weird feeling that I should know him, but I didn't. At least, not really.

"Let's say that it's better if you didn't know. It would be a lot safer. Also, never tell anyone about me. If you must, say that you didn't see me properly."

That started ringing my alarm bells. If he was doing this for my own good, why would he make me be silent about him? What if he was another demon that was trying to possess me or whatever?

"How do I know that I could trust you? What if you're trying to backstab me?" I asked, pulling away from him. He looked hurt for a while, and then laughed.

"I like the way you think. You now know better than to trust someone you've never seen, huh?" he then turned a bit more serious. "But I swear that I mean you no harm. If anything, I'm here to help. You should know that I taught you all those sword techniques that you now know."

I remembered how he swung his sword when I last saw him. I remembered how familiar the moves were. At that point, I decided to trust him, even if I knew nothing about him.

"Okay, I'll trust you. But why did you bring me here? And how am I safe from the demon?" I asked as I started to head down the infinite hall again.

"Simple. I divided my soul into two parts. One is fighting the demon right now using your body, and the second part, I, am speaking to you right now. As for the reason I brought you here, I just wanted to see you one last time."

Questions started to swim around my head, but at that point I realized that he said 'one last time'.

"What do you mean that it's the last time I'll see you?" I asked. The lion sighed, shaking his head.

"I've waited hundreds, thousands of years for you, kid. I've violated the laws of life and death so many times that without my achievements, I would've been thrown in hell. I was at my limit when I found you. I've taught you everything I knew, and now you have finish what I started."

"Achievements? Finish? What do you mean?!" I asked. I was practically shouting at him at that point.

"You'll know, because the moment is drawing closer." he spoke. Suddenly, he hugged me.

"You're my heir, and at the same time, you'll go beyond me. I trusted you from the moment of your birth. I never had kids, but if I did, it would be someone like you."

I hugged him back. It felt right. He stood up, brushed a tear away from his eyes, and started to walk down the hall, at the ends of which a small oval of light flickered. As he walked away, I realized that I hadn't asked him his name.

"Wait! What's your name!" I asked, shouting. For some reason, a gust of wind started up, drowning my words out. He turned back, smiled, and shouted something back to me. It was something along the lines of: " ...t...ng...o...ai!"As he stepped into the light, everything exploded in a pure white light.

Shax

I rolled away for the umpteenth time, trying to avoid being sliced by the slashes the kid kept making. After I put him to sleep, he woke up in a trance with weird glowing eyes, and started hacking at me with those energy crescents. They were predictable, but they were also so strong that I was forced to roll around. The whole place was trashed, which made it fortunate that the unknown Sphere was around us. Well, I didn't care either way. However, the fact remained that I had only a few minutes before someone, most likely his brother, came in. Almost five minutes already passed, and I wasn't any closer to getting the kid. Suddenly, he thrust his paw in the air, and a shape formed in the air. Before I could react, a jet of blue energy slammed into me, throwing me out of the ruined house.

"Fuck..." I looked up, and immediately threw up a shield.

Bam!

_ _ Another spell crashed into the shield, which barely held. Before I could counter, he leapt down, slashing with all his might.

Clang!

_ _ I blocked with my own sword, rolled aside, and came up. Then I got a sword strike for all my troubles and was thrown back again. Suddenly, the weird look in his eyes died, and his eyes returned to being normal. When I say normal, I mean that he had the whites of his eyes again, and the eyes wasn't glowing.

"Wait! I....." he started to speak up, stopped, and looked around, confused. Of course, I attacked him.

Will

When the light cleared, I was back at the house. Except..... it wasn't a house anymore. At least, not really. It would be better to call it 'rubble'. Then I looked up and saw Shax attacking. He didn't look too different from his old self except for batlike wings sprouting from his back. I blocked his strike with my own.

Chang!

_ _ Maybe it was thanks to the guy I just had a dream talk about, but I felt more sure about myself. I knew what sort of moves to use, when to use them, how to use them for maximum potential, and so on. I focused my energies into a single point on the sword again, which normally blasted us back. At that point, I just made a smaller counter wave, which canceled out the backlash that I would've felt.

Boom!

Shax was thrown back. I lounged forward, slashing and drawing a circle in midair. The result was that he got slammed into the ground, and also got electrocuted with lightning. He snarled and tried to push back, but at that point I just blasted him with Pinpoint burst, which threw him to the ground again. I casted another spell, and sharp pillars of rock rose, skewering his limbs. He roared in pain, but couldn't do anything.

"How did you get out?" I asked, leveling the blades at his throat.

"I told them the last chapter. Go and read it aagh!" I stabbed his arm.

"I'm serious here. I thought that demons couldn't get out of hell anymore."

"There's one little thing you didn't learn, kid. Sure, a pure demon can't leave hell or Spheres, but a half demon, or a person with demonic energies can. I just took over a body and pretended to be injured while fighting the demon, who was my accomplice anyways." he suddenly laughed and threw his head backwards.

"You really are soft. You should've killed me when you got me."

That caught me off guard. Suddenly, an aura of black energy exploded from him. I cried out, casting a shield. But the impact still threw me off. When the darkness cleared, He was floating over me, with jet black blades. They weren't really made of steel, but were made of black and blue fires. As soon as he saw me crouch, he pointed at me. Instantly, the blades shot forward. As soon as they touched my shield, they exploded.

Boom! Crack!

And that's when things started to turn bad. The flames from the explosion still was on the blades, sizzling and weakening the shield. Then he started to make tons of them and launched them like they were bullets. The shield started to crack, and my mana reserves were starting to reach its bottom.

"What the heck are those things!" I yelled as he relentlessly blasted away at the shield.

"Hellfire! You can't win against me, boy! Not unless you happen to be capable of using divine magic!" He gave a maniacal laugh as he continued with the assault. Seriously, who does things like that now?

Crack! Pa-ching!

I rolled away as my shield shattered. I reached out for the blades, and they shot back to my paws. However, as he blasted me with the fire blades, I had no opportunity to strike back. Whenever I tried to block or deflect those attacks, the blades would explode and throw me back. If I tried to dodge and move forwards, he would throw more blades. I just threw myself around, avoiding the blades as he laughed like a maniac. Seriously, he wasn't even taking a breather. Was it even possible?

"Just how much power do you even have? Shouldn't you be running low by now?" I asked as I rolled away for the fiftieth time.

"I'm a Bound One! My powers are endless!" he laughed. Suddenly, a dark tornado gathered around him. When it cleared, I saw a massive blade of hellfire, leveled at me.

I never was the type to swear. but at that point, the only thing I could say as I stared was, "Fuck...."

He sent down the blade. Suddenly, I had an idea. It was stupid, but then, I was going to die if I didn't do anything. I remembered a technique that the lion taught me, a technique he only used once. Sure, he nearly broke his arms, but that was better than dying.

"Blademaster technique- Burst whirlwind smash!" I shouted. The technique involved putting everything I had into my weapons, and just slamming them against the opponent's weapons. It wasn't really a technique, but rather just slamming the opponent as fast as possible, and as strong as possible. Much to my surprise, the blades but into the big blade without any signs of explosion. Instead, the blades cracked the fire away like it was ice or glass.

"What the...." Shax looked surprised, but I didn't really take a good look. I focused all my powers and brainpower on the gigantic blade, focusing. When I destroyed the blade, he threw his hands out. Jets of hellfire surged toward me, but I swung my swords, and they shattered. By some weird process, my blades suddenly could turn fire into an ice-like substance, allowing me to destroy them without them blowing up. I turned back toward the demon, but that's when things went wrong- again. My arms exploded with pain, and my limbs felt weak, shaking. The light around the swords shattered, and I fell to my knees , right in front of him. I tried to sit up, but only ended up falling over.

No! Not now! Not when I was so close! I silently begged as I tried to stand up. Suddenly, Shax grabbed my throat, and lifted me in the air. I couldn't even move my arms-they were shaking that badly.

" That was impressive." he purred as he grabbed his scimitar. He sheathed the blade, and made another circle in the air, materializing a portal.

"But unfortunately, that last technique seems to wear you down, both in terms of body and energy. You must teach me that technique." he started to move toward to the portal.

"W...what makes you t...think I'll do that?" I asked, trying to stall. I didn't really know what I could accomplish with stalling a few seconds, but I was desperate here.

"Well for starters, I have a torture chamber. I could torture you until you tell me. Actually, that's better. I get a new toy to play with!" He replied nonchalantly as he dragged me over. At that point, I gave up. I was out of power, I couldn't even move my body, and my weapons were out of reach. I just closed my eyes, and felt the blast of hot air when the demon began to step over the portal. Then he stopped. Then he fell over, which was weird. I opened my eyes and saw my brother. He was panting heavily like he ran miles. Or to be more correct, like he flew miles. Because on his back, he had the bat-like wings that Shax had.

"Will! Are you" he never finished his sentence, because I screamed and fainted. Again.
