Memo To: Director of Administration Fr: Chairman of The Board Re: The Incident Dear Director, I am sure I need not tell you why we are troubling you with petty memos. As the subject line states, we wish to discuss the incident at Site 13. The nature of the incident, and the reasons for its occurrence, at this point are irrelevant. I believe we can both agree that what has transpired cannot be changed. However, we must be careful on where we go from here. Given your first hand experience with S.A.I.N.T., we feel it's best to consult you before The Board makes a decision. Brash action, in response to an incident we know little about can only make things worse. So we request your presence at the next meeting, so we may figure out how to best deal with the calamity that is Site 13. Memo To: Chairman of The Board Fr: Director of Administration Re: Your Request Madam Chairman, Let me preface this by saying that you and The Board have been most accommodating as of late. It is no secret that the milestones we have achieved in resurrecting Project ARES wouldn't have been possible without your support. The work we have done here in no way can be called a small step or feat. We have opened Pandora's box, but managed to harness it's power and use it to our own advantage. All of which has been thanks to you, Madam Chairman. That being said, let me say that as I would love to attend your meeting, I must decline. As the details of Site 13 are still being investigated, I can not and will not release them to anyone outside of Administration. I'm sure I don't need to tell you about the protocols of damage control. Rumors are already starting to circulate throughout other areas. Releasing details on a half-baked investigation, will only fuel the fires of these rumors, which are turning into simple lies. Keep in mind that we did in fact warn you of this possibility occurring. Not once did we ever try and keep such things from you, Madam Chairman. It was the decision of The Board, which you presided over, to allocate funding for Site 13 and the resurrected Project ARES which was conducted by the now defunct S.A.I.N.T. Right now, the only thing I can tell you is to review our annual updates that we sent you. In the meantime, rest assured the breakdown has been corrected, and the incident at Site 13 will be neutralized. The best thing for you and The Board to do is what you do best. Let us at Administration do our job Memo To: Director of Administration Fr: Chairman of The Board Re: Questions Dear Director, Please understand that we at The Board do not wish to interfere with the internal affairs of Administration. At the same time, I'm sure you understand that we must ask certain questions. In all fairness, yes, we were informed of the possibility of such a mishap, but even you, dear Director, must agree that what you suggested was not even close to covering the mass devastation left in wake of the incident at Site 13. We have received your updates, however, this will only get us so far. The Board and I would like to see your more detailed records when it comes to Project ARES, and if we are close to finding the Acolyte. As we have funded these projects, we feel a right to review them. I must insist that you not look at this inquiry as a witch-hunt. We only wish to help correct the mistakes for the betterment of the whole establishment. I need you to understand the loss we have sustained here at The Board, not to mention the publicity this has caused. We need to now find a suitable solution, but we must know what we are dealing with. I must insist that we be kept in the loop on the investigation of Site 13. Memo To: Chairman of The Board Fr: Director of Administration Re: Investigation Madam Chairman, After reviewing your last memo, my advisor and I only see you talking in circles. You don't want to interrupt our internal affairs investigation, but you demand to be brought in on the investigation. You agree that our research is ours, but you demand to see our files. I don't see how you plan on helping us, Madam Chairman. I have to tell you that I don't have time for the part where we parry and joust around bureaucratic procedures. You wish to aid us, but you constantly interrupt me while I manage a crisis that we were both aware could eventually result from continuing research into Project ARES. I will fully admit, the magnitude of what occurred at Site 13 was not expected, which only makes us hasten our efforts. I still must refuse to release details about the ongoing investigation. Furthermore, don't talk to me about loss. If there is anyone who can speak about loss, it would be myself where I have been involved with Project ARES longer than you have been a member of The Board. Don't fool yourself into thinking you can tell me how to run my outfit based on information you wouldn't even have if it weren't for us. However, I have attached documents that will make certain things clearer in the future. I hope this is satisfactory, Madam Chairman, for it is all I am willing to offer. Memo To: Director of Administration Fr: Chairman of The Board Re: Motives Dear Director, I am surprised at your lack of cooperation in this subject matter. With the vast resources at out disposal, one would think that after this incident at Site 13, you would be more willing to comply with our request and offered help. Surely, dear Director, you must be asking the same questions we are of your people you have left in ARES. To suggest the idea that The Board and I are simply here to be the gadfly of your investigation is not only offensive, but suggests that you are attempting to exclude us out of spite. Need I remind you of what we have done not only for your project, but for you personally in the past? So far we have been extremely diplomatic in our inquiry. Nothing in our by-laws states that we must do so. Believe me when I tell you, Director, that The Board has the authority and capability to obtain any documentation we choose. Your hesitation to cooperate only makes The Board question more things. The one at the forefront of everyone's minds is the connection with the incident at Site 13 and what happened in Palamont several months ago. Memo To: Chairman of The Board Fr: Director of Administration Re: Division 11 Madam Chairman, I don't see where you get off on the idea that we in Administration owe The Board any sort of loyalty. Project ARES has been around far longer than The Board, and as far as we're concerned, you chose to support us. The Board, and even you Madam Chairman, came to us, specifically me. We never asked you for a damn thing. So I will continue to call things as I see them, Madam Chairman. What stops you from ceasing control of the investigation into Site 13 and finding the Acolyte is that you know the efforts to uncover what exactly happened will be delayed. I implore you to take whatever steps you feel you must, but someone who knows nothing of our work with Project ARES won't intimidate me. I will continue our investigation, review the material, and when I see necessary, will release a statement to you and your Board. One final note: to suggest that we had anything to do with what happened in Palamont with regard to the Lazarus Institute is not a question, but an accusation. If you have something you wish to say to me, Madam Chairman, then drop your bureaucratic act and say it. Memo To: Director of Administration Fr: Chairman of The Board Re: Past Experience Dear Director, No one is accusing you of anything that happened in Palamont. But you must admit that the timing of said incidents is extremely close, even for that of coincidence. However, the incident in Palamont is of little concern to us, except that it has drawn the unwanted attention of other organizations such as the Organized Crime Bureau and affiliated agencies. Yes, we have friends in high places, but not even they can cover us forever. For as many friends as we have, we have that many enemies. Consider this your official warning, dear Director. I alone know how close you are to this case. I know the personal stakes you have in it. However, I elected not to tell the remaining Board members. They question your, shall we say, competence as it is with your past affiliation with S.A.I.N.T. Disclosing your real incentives would no doubt cause unrest in our ranks. It's a trump card I am willing to play if you continue down this road of insubordination. The Acolyte is what we have been working to recover from the beginning. It is why we chose you to lead this endeavor. We both know the only way through this is together. We are both on the same side. Once the Acolyte is found, the way I see it, we both get what we want; everyone wins. But it's down to you, Director. You choose which way we go from here. Make no mistake, your expertise is invaluable, but even you are not irreplaceable. Memo To: Chairman of The Board Fr: Director of Administration Re: Facts on the Ground Madam Chairman, While at S.A.I.N.T. we would talk about the facts on the ground; things that were what they were and not sugar coated to your taste. Well, here are the facts on the ground, Madam Chairman: - We are close to the Acolyte; the incident at Site 13 confirmed this.

  • We are still investigating Site 13. You will receive a full report once we have completed this, but not before.

  • The Lazarus Institute also confirms that other forces are at work trying to tear down everything we have worked for. Administration had nothing to do with this, but we know that the Acolyte was involved somehow, but it is unclear how.

  • The Board is not helping manage any of these situations. I will lay it out for you, Madam Chairman. I implore you to tell my true motivations to your fellow colleagues. Personally, I will tell anyone who asks the real reason why I chose to work for Division 11. I'm neither ashamed of my reasons nor am I trying to hide the fact. If you don't want me in charge of Administration, then you have every right and privilege to remove me when you see fit. But we both know you won't and we both know why. You _, Madam Chairman, need_ me. You need my skill, my expertise, you need my knowledge of the Acolyte, and you need my insight from my days at S.A.I.N.T. You are well aware of what kind of Hell you will bring down on us all if you try and recover the Acolyte without my help. The wrath you will face will be like nothing you have ever seen and all your hard work will crumble down around you. Attached are the autopsy reports before we paid the medical coroner of Arcadia to have them changed. I especially encourage you to study Plazowisk Preston's file. So when you are contemplating on what you should and should not tell The Board, think about what could happen without having me around.
