This is the beginning of the tale of Sameric and Fang. A sweet lil urban romance I wrote way back when.

Fang was out on the town, hoping to have one last night of fun before he left for college. The city lights were shining bright, neon colors glaring from every direction, and the shadows were stark contrasts to the happy brightness that glared from restaurant windows.

Fang looked about anxiously. It wasn't often that he traveled this part of town, not many anthros knew the place. It was shady, filled with vile humans, thief's, and outcasts.

He shivered glad that this wasn't his destination, and hurrying along further, deeper, into the center of the city.

That was when he spotted him, a stark contrast to all of the shady looking creatures on the avenue. He was a beautiful silver and gold furred wolf Anthro and was walking on the other side of the street, right across from Fang, his held high. Every glace sent in his direction was met by a challenging and powerful glare, and surprisingly none of the humans dared challenge him. Not even the most violent looking. No matter his lithe build and venerable looking beauty, everyone shied out of his path.

Fang stopped in his tracks, reveling in the sight. Never had he seen a wolf so beautiful, so powerful, so graceful. From head to tail he was perfection, pure and unhindered. He moaned silently, his tail wagging, as he tried to hold back the saliva building up in his jowls, and then, to his amazement, the wolf turned his head, meeting his hungry gaze.

With a yelp Fang lowered his head, and started walking down the street again, looking at his feet. Hoping, pleading that the handsome creature hadn't noticed his staring. He kept his head down for about a hundred steps, and when he felt it was safe he looked up again, glancing about anxiously.

The wolf was gone...

With a sigh of relief he turned forward again, continuing down the street. Just as he was beginning to relax two golden hands shot out of a dark alley and dragged him off the sidewalk and into the shadows.

Fang opened his mouth to scream, but powerful golden fingers were upon his lips before the sound could escape. He struggled, and unsheathed his claws, batting weakly at the powerful arms that had him hostage.

"Shh," whispers his assaulter, "I'm not going to hurt you."

Fang whimpers, swayed by the suave tone, it was Sexy, hungry and unsettlingly seductive.

"There you go," the voice replied as he ceased his struggling, still tense, but ready to listen. Afte a moment his assaulter continued, "I saw you staring at me." he murrs.

"I'm sorry." Fang replied gently, "I meant no offense."

The arms release him, "I know you didn't." he said in is resonant, suave voice.

Fang sighed with relief, brushing off his fur and looking up at his attacker with wide eyes. Just as he had suspected it was the golden wolf he had spotted in the street. He was even more stunning up close, and tall, VERY tall.

"You're tall." He said softly, at loss of anything better to say.

The golden wolf laughed, "I'd expect you to run away after I attacked you like that."

Fang scoffed at the joke, "That was the most pathetic attack I've ever known." He murmured, "If you really meant to hurt me you would have went for my mouth before I tried to scream." He steps out of the alley back into the colorful street lights.

"A smart one I see." The golden wolf replied, stepping out after him.

Fang giggled, "I have to be when I'm as cute as this." he murred, spinning a circle in the middle of the sidewalk.

The golden wolf looked him up and down hungrily, "now that's a statement I can agree with."

Fang laughed again, looking up at the golden wolf with wide, sweet, eyes. "Where you headed big boy?" he said with a gentle flutter of his eyelashes.

The golden wolf shook his head, looking about, "I'm not quite sure actually." He replied, "I just came out on the town cus I was bored at home."

Fang nodded, "I see."

"Yup..." the golden wolf murmured, looking down at him warmly, and then saying after a lengthy pause, "So where are you headed?"

Fang looked up at him with a sweet giggle, "Centere park." he says, Would you care to join me?"

The golden wolfs eyes widen, part with surprise and part with a most undeniable excitement. "Would I!?" he yelped.

Fang giggled again, flicking back his bangs, "Well then come on hottie." He said prancing away down the street, "I know an awesome shortcut."

The golden wolf followed with a happy murr.

"So what's your name?" Fang asked, as he cut down an alley and jumped up onto a fire escape, hurrying up to the roof.

"Sameric," The golden wolf replied, following him, "my parents couldn't decide between Sam and Eric so they decided to stick the two together." He laughed to himself, "it wound up they should have chosen Samantha instead."

He vaulted up onto the roof to see fang standing on its edge, the wind ruffling through his thick coat of silver fur, He murred, stepping up beside him.

Fang looked up at him sweetly, "Okay Sameric, this is how were gonna do this." he pointed across the rooftops toward the bright full moon. "We keep jumping roofs in the direction of the moon until we reach the park. Sound easy enough for you?"

Sameric nodded, "piece of cake."

Fang smiled at him, a bit shadily this time, "I wouldn't count on it sweetie." and vaulted off the roof, landing on the one below.

Sameric started after him, wondering what would make him say such a thing, then shrugged and leapt after him, landing with a huff.

"Hurry up goldilocks!" Fang shouted from the next rooftop, leaping onward over a sizeable gap between two high rooftops.

He was stunned that this beautiful golden wolf had taken interest in him so quickly. I wasn't often that someone so wonderfully attractive wasn't suck up, taken, or both. He murred, this was the perfect opportunity for him to get something he had been longing for for ages.

He stopped, watching Sameric as he vaulted up onto the rooftop, and smiled at him as he sauntered over.

When Sameric reached his side, he was huffing silently.

Fang giggled, "Tired sweetie?"

Sameric shook his head, "Just a little winded."

Fang giggled again, turning to the next roof, "well this is the last one." He said with a smile as he stared across the gap, which spanned an entire four lane street.

Sameric took a couple of steps forward and stared over the massive gap, suddenly understanding fangs earlier statement.

"After this we can jump down into the park." Fang continued, looking back at him, "If you make it that is."

Sameric soon began to wonder why it was Fang telling him that he wouldn't make it, as he looked the thin wolfboy up and town. He was sure it would be difficult for him, as small as he was.

Fang narrowed his eyes, "do you doubt my strength goldilocks?"

"Actually I do." Sameric replied with a smirk.

"Well I think you should rethink that doubt hun." Fang said, smiling back and crouching, "things aren't always as they seem."

With a starling roar he vaulted off the roof, gliding gracefully over the road and landing on the other side without even a stagger.

Sameric was stunned, knowing now that fang definitely wasn't just any wolf.

Fang waved to him from the other side and then pranced away, heading toward the moon and disappearing over the brim of the roof with a gleeful howl.

Samerics blood grew cold. Now he had to figure out how he was going to cross the gap himself. He shivered as he stared across the four lanes. There was no way he could make it all the way in one jump, but he couldn't just stand there all night, not if he wanted to keep such a spirited pup interested.

He stared for a couple moments longer before deciding that he should make the jump. He then took a deep breath and stepped back a couple of feet to give himself a good start. After taking a couple more steady breaths he squared his legs and jolted forward, pushing off the edge with all his might.

He flew over three lanes before he felt the vertigo coming on and realized that he wasn't going to make it.

With a fearful howl he threw his arms forward, clawing out for the edge of the building that was only mere inches away from him and began to fall.

To his surprise a silver arm shot over the edge and grabbed his tail. He yelps as his limbs shot down, all of his weight jolting on his tail as fang dragged him up onto the roof.

Sameric whimpered with relief as Fang plopped him down with a smirk.

"It was a good thing I came back wasn't it." The silver wolf said with a charming smile.

Sameric blushed, he had never been put in this position before. Usually he was prince charming, but at the moment he was the damsel in distress. "Well..." he stammered.

Fang giggled again, sitting beside him "It's okay hun, I knew you would not be able to make it. No one ever does. But I decided you were worth saving." He smiled, "You seemed worthy."

Sameric stared at him quizzically, "You mean you've let other guys just fall off the roof and into the road!?"

Fang blinked, and then looked at the ground "Well yeah, kind of." He croaked innocently, looking up at Sameric with a killer sweetness "but the worst any of them got was a bruised butt, none of the fell in the street."

"That's dirty." Sameric murmured meeting his adorable gaze.

Fang laughed anxiously, "I'm sorry. Please don't be mad."

Sameric smiled at him gently, "I understand completely." He said, "A cutie like you needs some type of safeguard from predators."

Fang smiled, "And idiots." He added.

"And don't forget the ugly ones." Sameric giggled.

"Oh no, I leave them in the street." Fang said, standing.

Sameric laughed again, staring up at Fang with interest. "So now what?"

"The park." Fang replied, "to the place were no suitor of mine has walked."

"Oooh." Sameric murred, "sounds fun."

"It is." Fang said as he stepped onto the edge of the roof, "Now come on goldilocks!" he shouted and jumped off the roof, into the trees below, "We have to make it there before the moon sets!"
