Poem #96: Not Much of a Dancer
#97 of Poetry
I've always been someone that when I hear music that I like, I tend to just tune the world out and get really into the music. This is how I feel I could describe that experience. Hope you enjoy.
When my days are troubled
I always reach for my headphones
And put them in my ears
Slowly, the rhythm passes through my veins
Flowing through every part of me.
When I feel the beat kick
My hearts yearns to align
with the drum
I feel the beat
kick the hate, anger, pain
As my mouth forms words,
singing off sorrows, worries, fear
Replace with the melody
of better emotions
I leave the world
for a song or twelve
Watching things melt around me
As the music and I
Find our zone of peace.
