Finally

All of Giz's annoyance was communicated in that one silent mental statement as he watches Darkrai place the sleeping Houndour pup next to what Giz assumed to be his mate. The reason for Giz irritation had came from after watching Darkrai spend a good thirty minutes just watching the pup sleep. The previously mentioned sight was cute all the way up until Giz's rump fell asleep.

Ah well no use bitching about it. Hopefully this short period of enduring the irritating pins and needles feeling would be Giz's only punishment for going on this stake-out without permission. Very doubtful, but Giz was trying to optimistic for once like his Daddy wanted.

Giz waits until Darkrai vanishes inside the Darkrai plushie that'd been resting next to the Houndour pups before standing up from the tree branch that he'd been perched on. All at once experiencing a moment of vertigo that made the Mienfoo dizzy enough enough to lose his footing and fall out of the tree. Luckily Giz's claws and reflexes were reliably swift enough to catch onto another branch before an embarrassing accident happened.

Even as Giz's heart made friends with his lunch as he swallowed both back down; the Mienfoo didn't miss a beat. Already sprinting and leaping for the next branch before his feet graced the first for even a single moment. As if trying to outrun the terrifying moment. Funnily enough, after about a minute of navigating to tree branch to tree branch: the Mienfoo was successful in that goal. Was far too busy having the time of his life demonstrating agility challenging stunts that were centered mostly on flips, twirls, and brief flamboyant poses.

During one such pose a thought beckons a silent chuckle from Giz. And Mommy and Daddy wonder why I love this form the most. Another thought appears to have followed behind the first. So deep into his own pondering Giz almost passes up the Pancham who'd been leisurely perched on a branch in Giz's path. In the Giz's defense: Taz had almost been completely hidden in shadows he was unintentionally lurking in since it was nighttime with no moon outside; so it was only the Pancham's white furred head and strange almost luminescent green irises that were visible.

After landing on the next branch, about facing, and accepting the apple that would have thunked against his head if he'd failed the reflex check. Again not missing a beat Giz bit into it and said with his mouth full of food "Excluding your combat form: which is your favorite Pokemon form?"

Taz was broadsided by the random question enough to nearly fall out of the tree himself. Taz recovered after a few moments of helplessly fumbling for his perch without any assistance from Giz. After exhaling a sigh of relief: Taz shot Giz an expression that unspokenly communicated that he wasn't amused and was questioning if the Mienfoo was kidding. This odd staring contest didn't force Giz's inquisitive facial expression to waver in the slightest. After a few moments Taz finally replied: "I like them all depending on my mood."

When nothing else was said for several moments: Giz didn't appear amused as he slowly replied "As do I but you're avoiding the simple question. Which one is your favorite"

Taz exhales a long sigh before muttering "It's a tie between this one and Teddiursa" Giz's inquisitive expression returns, forcing Taz to elaborate with a dismissive shake of the head "It's not something I can explain."

Even though this answer made Giz even more confused, he decided that it would be better to end the conversation there. While smiling good naturedly at his friend: Giz motioned for Taz to follow as he leaps for the next branch. Taz hesitates only to pick up the tiny bundle of cloth that had been up until this point hidden behind his back before moving to follow while Giz darts ahead.

Giz calls over his shoulder "What's in the sack?"

Taz calls back "I like having mood music playing in the background. So I have a Pokeball that has my new boombox and phone inside here."

Giz lands on another branch, sprints, and aims for the next one as he calls back "Oh...won't they hear that and come investigate? It's gonna be kinda hard to spar with all we have if we're worrying about uninvited guest."

Taz catches up with Giz and replies "It's really hard to hear anything outside mine and Mama's cave. Bears are really hard to wake apparently. In fact the only problem with them was escaping Mama's grasp without her waking. The only ones we had to worry about are pretty much stuck where they're at dealing with their own problems. If they hear anything that isn't an immediate threat: they will ignore it. Same as you?"

Giz nods while verballing replying "Yeah same as me"

Both 'mons suddenly find themselves becoming grounded when the forest suddenly opens up into a clearing with a lone apple tree close to it's center. This was the same exact space that Taz and Elliot had squared off earlier. A quick sniff reveals to Giz that there was a nearby source of water for him to bathe in if worse comes to worse. The location was absolutely perfect for them. like... Giz's eyes widen with revelation while he turns to face Taz and says "You were expecting me?"

Taz rolls his eyes and responds "Dude I was expecting you a long time ago. Since the moment I heard you were involved in this hellish drama a few weeks ago in fact. Had thought you were actually going to show yourself the first time you stepped into my sensory range when I made sure we would be alone. Didn't expect you of all people to chicken out."

Giz pouts but says nothing for a few moments, just watches Taz set-up his boombox. Finally Giz says "You know I'd planned on our reunion to be a bit more dramatic. Had a Scream mask, plastic knife, voice distorter and everything with my things before the car crash."

Taz turns long enough to flash Giz a puzzled look before turning back around to what he was previously doing while responding "Yeah...now that I think back: you did kinda promise to go that route if I didn't Skype you right after I finished moving. But you didn't. Why is that?"

Giz's wide smile wasn't seen by Taz but was sensed in the Mienfoo's voice while Giz stealthily approached "Because that's what Ken would've done. Giz on the other hand..."

Taz suddenly finds himself lurching forward over the boombox as Giz tackles him from behind. Sending them both tumbling over the boombox system as they both rolled head-over-heels in the grass together for several rotations.

When the pair finally comes to a stop: Giz is on top and has successfully pinned all of Taz's limbs down with his own. Another blink and Giz's mouth was pressing against Taz's own; tongue slowly rubbing against the Pancham's lips as if trying to silently convince them to part so it could enter. Another blink Taz's mouth was open; poor panda was so confused that he didn't know whether or not it was to welcome in the eager invader or to speak words of protest.

Taz's mind was currently blank so his body responded to the situation for him by hesitantly deepening the kiss. Giz responded to in kind by turning the distance between them into a non-existent zero. Wasn't until Taz felt the wet, warmth between them that his mind was slapped out of the debilitating haze long enough for logical sense to return.

A moment that was punctuated for Giz when he'd noticed that Taz's hindpaws had somehow found a way to come between their bodies. Before Giz could react or backpedal: Taz was already shoving him away from about three or so yards with the strength of his legs alone.

Luckily Giz landed on his rump; anywhere else might've summoned more than just the tiny jab of pain he experienced. Funnily enough this pain and the fear of the unknown didn't do a single thing to his erection. Rage didn't seem to shrivel up Taz's anatomy either. Something Taz was currently glaring at as if he wanted to rip it free from his body. Most likely because he couldn't lie about his interest because of the neon sign it was currently holding up.

Despite being aroused: Both boys didn't bother hiding themselves. Parents had made sure their modesty died with their human selves after all. Did take a bit for Taz to re-establish eye contact though...only to be shamed back into looking down when he saw Giz licking his lips suggestively. During the same moment the Mienfoo simultaneously says, voice distorting with arousal. "Been fantasizing about doing that and more ever since I first smelt you in the air just the other day."

Taz mumbles something under his breath. Before Giz could suggest for the Pancham to speak up: Taz repeats himself "Why..."

Giz briefly lifts an eyebrow as he simultaneously shrugs "Dunno what you're questioning. You're gonna have to elaborate Sweetness."

The pet-name seems to infuriate Taz, but he doesn't change what he was going to say "You should hate me. Have plenty of reason to. So why in the hell don't you!?"

Giz snorts as he dryly responds "Get over yourself dude. You didn't do a single bloody thing to me." Giz slowly stalks forward "I was the one that followed after you. Not the other way around. After a certain point was passed: we both have practically non-existent control over our fate thanks to the puppet masters pulling our strings."

By now Giz was chest to chest with Taz; the Pancham's being unable to escape the physical contact due to the fact he'd already been backed into a tree due to Giz's slow continuous advance. Tears began to gather in the corners of Giz's eyes; but the Mienfoo let them be as he shoved forward in his speech. "The only thing you'd done to hurt me is to try to cut me completely out of your life. Granted you thought it was for my own safety." a pause "Or at least I hope it was because of that?"

Giz waits patiently for Taz's answer. Taz nods slowly. Giz offers a small smile as he continues on with his monologue, acting as if the interruption never happened "-But that still hurts man...hurts really bad that you didn't think I was strong enough to at least be asked if I wanted to a part of your new life."

Fiery determination erupts in Giz's gaze, actually intense enough to make Taz squirm uncomfortably. That is until the moment Taz's gaze was pulled to his own wrists and the paws that gripped them during the same moment Giz says "Let me make you eat those assumptions."

Taz suddenly finds his feet being swept out from underneath him and his body is lifted off the ground as Giz spins them around in circles for several rotations before suddenly letting go. Taz is too stunned to react quick enough to regain his footing so the Pancham dines on dirt as punishment. Meanwhile Giz leisurely walks over to Taz's already switched-on boombox, navigates through Taz's music list until one tickles his fancy, and presses Play.

...or was at least about to before Taz retaliates by running full tilt at the bipedal mustelid Pokemon. Goal was apparently to land a ferocious haymaker into Giz's midsection; for some reason this punch had enough force put behind it to shove the Mienfoo backward a good ten yards or so and crashing straight through an opposing tree. If Giz hadn't dropped the phone and put up his arms to block at the last moment -Detect-...who knows where the fight would be at now.

Fucker isn't messing around...that or he really wanted to listen to this song.

Song choice: My Demons-Starset. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSvOTw8UH6s

Mayday! Mayday!

The ship is slowly sinking

They think that I'm crazy but they don't know the feeling

I don't know this song Giz thought; surprised. This moment of bafflement didn't last long since after turning up the boombox so loud that any speaking would be put on mute: Taz began running full tilt at Giz again.

They're around me,

Circling like vultures

They wanna break me and wash away my colors

Giz had to get his head in the game and fast or this would be over before it even started. Ignoring the shooting pain the unknown amount of splinters in his back and rear were causing him, a somersault for no other reason besides that it made him look a tad bit cool, and finally a short leap directly for Taz -who by now was just paces away- just as his paw began to glow with white light -Pound-.

Wash away my colors.

When the dueling pair gets within arms reach: Taz slaps the Pound attack away in the same moment he twists his torso so that he would slam into the flabbergasted Mienfoo shoulder first. -Tackle-

Take me high and I'll sing

Giz stumbles backward, momentarily stunned. Taz of course takes advantage of the opportunity; to cock back both paws that were currently glowing with white light. -Arm Thrust-

Oh you make everything okay, okay, okay

'Kay, Okay, Okay

Taz manages three successful open palm strikes, ironically each making contact on each of the song's 'okays'. Upon the third Giz finally recovers and manages to lift up his arms to block the next blow with another Detect. Before Taz could withdraw his arm: Giz seizes it.

We are one in the same

Oh you take the pain away, away, away

'Way, away, away

Taz's eyes widen with surprise as he is pulled forward. That expression doesn't last long when Giz's knee slams into the Pancham's stomach, forcing the Playful Pokemon to double over with a wheeze. Giz doesn't seem to be done with Taz though. Far from it in fact.

Save me if I become

My demons

Giz's spinning roundhouse kick is executed in a blur of motion as it connects with the right side of Taz's skull during the next millisecond. The force of the kick's momentum was hard enough that it sent the poor stunned Pancham cartwheeling through the air quite a few rotations before gravity and the ground finally caught him again. The leftover momentum however still forcing Taz's body to take quite a beating in it's tumble as scrapes, cuts, and bruises battered the Pancham's form from the unforgiving soil and tiny rocks; whom seemed to have decided they wanted a piece of the panda to keep for themselves.

I cannot stop this sickness taking over

It takes control and drags me into nowhere

As soon as Giz's feet graces the ground: he's already sprinting to take advantage of Taz's stunned state. Taz senses him drawing nearer but the dizziness is too strong to do anything other then wait till it passes.

I need your help, I can't fight this forever

I know you're watching,

I can feel you out there

Luckily Taz's Pokemon DNA quadruples recover time so he's able to successfully roll out of the way of Giz's Pound kick before it knocks his lights out. Ignoring the rapidly fading remnants of his dizziness; Taz accomplishes a 180 degree spin to add a little bit of momentum to his next attack. In the next heartbeat Taz was lunging forward to strike at the back of Giz's unguarded neck with the side of his hand in typical Karate Chop move fashion. Giz's cry is audible to Taz even over the music when the move successfully connects. But Giz manages to ignore the pain long enough to dodge the next incoming punch and in a startling display of speed: manages to land the Pound move he'd been fishing for the entire tryst in the countering backhand. Taz is quick to shove it off though, apparently used to similar or stronger abuse.

The two exchange Arm Thrust and Pounds during the chorus. Most are either blocked or dodged; but some make it through both duelers guard and manage to strike true.

[Chorus]

Take me high and I'll sing

Oh you make everything okay, okay, okay

'Kay, okay okay

We are one in the same

Oh you take all the pain away, away, away

'Way, away, away

Save me if I become

My demons

Finally Giz seems to be the first one to have had enough of this little endurance test. A feint with a clawed paw distracts Taz long enough for a knee to be driven into his groin. Dirty move but effective. Since the blow forces Taz to stumble far enough in a good enough daze that Giz was given plenty of time to clap his paws together. Immediately upon the clap, a large shockwave of air comes from them with enough force behind it to launch Taz back several feet. -Fake Out- Thus giving Giz the breathing room he'd desired.

Take me over the walls below

Fly forever

Big mistake.

Don't let me go

Taz's body momentarily becomes surrounded by a red light aura.

I need a savior to heal my pain

Taz catches himself with an outstretched paw. Using it to reposition his body in a somersault so that he would land on his hind feet.

When I become my worst enemy

The enemy

Hind feet that were already pistoning to get his body across the distance that was gleaned from Giz's Fake Out move. Giz's mind is still stuck on the red glowing aura thing. Apparently not familiar with the visual of the Work Up move.

Take me high and I'll sing

Oh you make everything okay

We are one in the same

Oh you take all the pain away

Taz returns with vengeance written all over his face. Simultaneously cocking back both paws as the red light aura re-emerges. Giz realizes too late that it couldn't be anything good. Too late because the first beefed up Arm thrust was already slamming full force into the Mienfoo's stomach before he could even think of stopping it from happening. Hitting so hard that the blow actually forces a stream of spittle to fly out of the poor Giz's mouth.

Take me high and I'll sing

Oh you make everything okay, okay, okay

The red aura disappears upon the third 'okay' and Arm Thrust. Even though Taz was still striking with everything he had, the attack was still weakening in power if only slightly.

'Kay, Okay, Okay

At this point the physical punches and kicks of Taz's tantrum didn't even need the extra boost. Judging from the only semi-conscious expression on Giz's face: this fight was already done with.

We are one in the same

Taz was too consumed with rage to notice this fact. A fact painfully obvious since the Pancham kept swinging until finally finishing the assault with a Karate Chop across the side of the face. The force of the attack launching Giz the same distance the Mienfoo's earlier roundhouse kick had launched the Pancham.

Oh you take the pain away, away, away

Giz was unconscious way before his body even thought about touching the ground.

'Way, away,away

Taz fell to his knees before falling all the way forward. The Pancham was exhausted, battered, bruised, and wheezing...but a winner.

Save me if I become

My demons

Taz's eyes began to close as the second to last chorus transitions into the start of the finale.

Taz eyes shot open abruptly; first glancing towards the dark unyielding pitch-dark underbrush. Then at the invisible presence floating somewhere amidst the tops of the trees. For some reason the appearance of the unexpected audience doesn't at all frighten Taz. Quite the contrary in fact, since Taz manages to flash a half-smile and tiny imperceptible nods of greeting towards each direction he'd previously glanced at.

Meanwhile the last of the song's chorus ebbs away, until at last only the usual near silence of the nightlife of the great outdoors remains. Taz's eyes close again as if given permission to finally allow himself to black out.

Two tiny figures wait a few moments before stepping out of the shadows side by side. The male Teddiursa walks over and works on returning the boombox back into storage capsule and bindle.

Meanwhile the female Mienfoo makes a beeline towards her unconscious male twin, picks him up in a fireman's carry, and begins to head for the treeline again. The Teddiursa notices the Mienfoo's hurry and makes a comment "Can you wait until I drop Taz off with Mama, Crissy? Safety in numbers and all that. Should only take a few extra minutes."

The Mienfoo pauses mid-step but doesn't turn around as she replies. "Thanks for the offer Rai but we should be alright."

Rai shrugs nonchalantly and waves her off dismissively "Well be careful alright?"

Crissy nods once before resuming and quickened her pace, seems her plan was to outrun the idea of potential predators "See you when I see you!"

"See you when I see you!" Rai watches the mustelids until they disappear completely into the dense underbrush of the forest before turning his gaze onto his other half. A small smile slowly spreads across Rai's muzzle as he began move again towards the person he was only able to observe at a distance until this point. Rai made sure to step lightly on tip-toe until he was close enough that his legs would be against the sleeping Taz's sides once he sat down. Was about to do just that but...the peaceful expression on Taz's face however made Rai hesitate.

What if Taz woke up? What if the Godslayer had been wrong with his assumption that Taz's soul would remember Rai even if his conscious mind didn't? What if-?

By now tears had long already began to leak past Rai's eyelids. So consumed with hopes and doubts: Rai didn't even notice that his tears were falling on Taz. Nor did Rai notice that Taz was sniffing the air as if a particular scent had piqued his interest enough for the Pancham open his eyes into slits.

Rai did however notice when a paw suddenly seizes his wrist. Panic manages to seize control of all logical function in Rai's brain. But before Rai could yank his arm away and flee: Taz uses a foot to sweep Rai's feet out from under him. Before Rai could recover: Taz pinns the strange Teddiursa underneath him and nuzzles his face against Rai's tummy; seemingly already asleep again. Relief washes over Rai like a molten lava wave. Strangely though this relief only made Rai weep harder into Taz's fur but he was so overwhelmed with emotion that this didn't matter.

Eventually Rai manages to cry himself to sleep.
