Chapter 19! :3

Merry Christmas you furs! I know I said I wouldn't be doing any uploading but I'm technically not at my dad's house just yet so I felt obligated to get one last chapter out to you guy's before my break starts. Introducing a couple more characters to the fray (not that there aren't enough already but who's counting?) who may have more significance later on in the story. And can we just talk about you guys for a second, right in the middle of writing this I got to 10,000 page views. Like are you kidding me, you guys are freaking awesome! I know it might not seem like much but to me it's a huge achievement and I couldn't be happier to have such great readers and fans along for this journey! But yeah, that's enough mushy stuff for this header, I'll let you get to the good stuff now! Hope you enjoy and I'll see you at the bottom of the page! :D

P.O.V. Elijah

A small frown was plastered to my face as I walked to class, thinking back to the conversation I'd had with Jasper a few minutes earlier about going to visit with Coach Leon to discuss the football thing not working out. I tried to convince him to wait until my class was over so he wouldn't have to go by himself, but he was set on going that morning so I just dropped it and left to go to class.

I had left a few minutes earlier than I'd originally planned on so I wasn't surprised to find the lecture hall almost empty when I walked inside. Sighing I let my eyes wander the auditorium-like classroom, settling on a seat towards the front on the right side. Just as I started towards the seat my ears perked up as I heard what sounded almost like a squeak but my name being said was unmistakable.

My ears swiveled to the left in the direction it had come from, my gaze settling on the small chinchilla seated in the very back row of the room. A smile worked its way across my muzzle as I redirected myself in her direction. I squeezed passed a couple furs who were also seated in the back row to get a seat next to the chinchilla.

"Hey Vinesah, didn't know you had chemistry today." I greeted her with a friendly smile.

She nodded with a small wave, "Yes, everybody in our chemistry lab has the same class. I saw Sebastian and his friend come in earlier, but I was nervous about calling them over." She replied quietly. My ears perked slightly at her comment as I glanced around the room, quickly locating the black bobcat and Kylee towards the front on the left. I was surprised I hadn't seen them earlier while I was looking for a seat.

"I'll be right back." I told the chinchilla who nodded as I got up and squeezed passed the two furs in the row into the main aisle, trotting to the front of the room where our other lab group members were seated.

"Bastian!" I whispered as to not disturb the others who were seated around them. The bobcat's head shot around to meet my call, face lighting up.

"Hey Elijah, how are you?" He asked.

"I'm fine, mind if Vinesah and I come sit down here with you two?" I replied.

"Sure, where is she? I didn't see her when I came in." He commented. My sensitive hearing picked up a quiet scoff from the ferret on the other side of Sebastian, but I ignored it to answer his question.

"She's up towards the top, said she was too nervous to call you guys." I told him.

"Aww, poor thing. Yeah bring your stuff down, I'll hold a couple seats." He told me.

"Thanks bud, be back in a second." I said in reply as I turned back around to trot back up the aisle. The chinchilla watched me curiously waiting for a response.

"Wanna come down and sit with us? Sebastian said he'd love for you to come down." I told her as I once again shuffled passed the two furs once again, an agitated sigh coming from one of them. I flicked an ear in apology as I grabbed my bag, glancing at Vinesah expectantly.

"Sure." She replied simply sliding her stuff back into her bag. I apologized once again verbally at having to shuffle passed the two furs once again, but I was quickly prepared to retract that apology as the great dane who'd huffed earlier lifted his foot ever so slightly to trip Vinesah as she passed, something that did not go unnoticed by me. I caught her before she could hit the ground, helping her regain her footing before facing the large black and white spotted dog again.

"Listen, if you've got a problem you take that up with me, not her." I told him, a growl rumbling in the back of my throat as I spoke. At that the dane stood up, towering over me by at least a foot and a half, perhaps even two feet.

"Yeah, what are you gonna do about it tiny?" He said degradingly, adding a shove for good measure. I stood my ground as I met his gaze, before a throat clearing caused both of our heads to turn towards the entrance of the lecture hall. My ears flattened slightly and the dane's posture grew more submissive at the professor standing in the doorway.

"I've seen enough. Janette, take these two to the Dean's office please. I'll submit a report later, thank you." The older panther spoke to the fruit bat standing behind her, who nodded in response.

"Come with me please, you can bring your stuff." Janette told us. We'd effectively attracted the attention of the other students in the room who stared at the scene with curiosity.

"They're waiting for you down there, you can tell them what you saw if they ask." I said quietly to the small chinchilla who watched me worriedly. She paused for a moment before nodding, grabbing her stuff and walking down the aisle. Meeting Sebastian's gaze he pointed two fingers towards his eyes then back to me with a thumbs up, letting me know that he'd seen what happened.

I nodded as I grabbed my bag, walking out of the auditorium style classroom with the fruit bat and great dane, the three of us silent as we walked around the semi-circle shaped building towards the Dean's office. Upon reaching the dark wooden door, I gulped slightly as she lead us inside where a white colored fox sat behind her desk.

"Hello, how may I help you?" She asked. Her voice was tinted with the same ice that colored her fur, making me tremble slightly.

"We had a small physical altercation before class, Ms. Paramore asked me to bring them down here." She replied.

The fox's ears perked slightly at that, "Oh is that right? May I ask what you saw?" She asked the fruit bat.

"When Ms. Paramore and I entered I saw the great dane push the husky, but he did not retaliate in any way." She told her. The fox glanced at the two of us for a moment before nodding.

"Very well, you may go Janette." The Dean replied to the fruit bat who nodded, closing the door behind her.

"Have a seat please." She told us, both of us complying and taking the two seats on either side of the desk.

"If you do not know me my name is Dawn Ingram, you may call me Ms. Ingram. I am the Dean of Sciences here at the University. Now, may I have your names?" She asked us.

"Elijah Moore, ma'am." I replied, intimidated by the piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through me.

"Owen Ford." The great dane replied as well, drawing a nod from the Dean.

"Very well, let me begin by hearing Elijah's side of the story first." She asked. I gulped slightly before starting.

"I came in early today because I just finished things quickly today, and I found my friend Vinesah sitting in the back row. Owen here as well as another person were sitting at the start of the row, so I had to shuffle by them to sit next to her. Then I spotted my friend Sebastian sitting towards the front, so I had to shuffle by them again to go down to ask him a question. He told me to come sit down there with him and his friend, so I ran back up to the back row where I had to go by them again, when one of them sighed as I went by. I told Vinesah to come with me and so I walked by them again and she followed after me, when this guy sticks his foot up and trips her. Of course I was upset so I called him out on it, in which he took offensively and that's when he stood up and pushed me. And now here I am." I finished, with a wary glance to the great dane who's expression did nothing to give away his mood.

"Anything to add to the story Owen?" She asked the giant. He was quiet for a moment and I suspected he was thinking of a snarky lie to get him out of this, but he surprised me when he responded.

"No ma'am, everything he said sounds right. I was out of line deciding to push him, I was just frustrated by how many times he had to pass by us." He said quietly.

"I would suggest not sitting at the end of the row Mr. Ford if you are not comfortable having to move your feet often. And Mr. Moore, it's considered polite that once you find your seat to not move around and disturb others too much." She scolded both of us. "I'll let you both off for now since there were no conflicting stories, but do not let me see either of you two here again for these reasons. Understood?" She asked us.

"Yes ma'am." We both replied. She smiled slightly at us.

"Good. You may go, your class should not be too far ahead of you." She dismissed us. We both exchanged glances before grabbing our bags and walking out. The walk back down the hall was silent save for the sound of our footfall in the empty hall.

"Sorry for trying to push by you guys so many times, I should have known better than to press my luck like that." I started the apology.

"I'm the one who should be apologizing, you did nothing wrong. I let my temper get the best of me and I tripped your friend who had nothing to do with it. Sorry for pushing you also, and for calling you tiny... everyone is tiny to me y'know?" He made an attempt at a joke which actually managed to get a small snicker out of me.

"I bet. I think we got off on the wrong foot earlier, how about we try this again. We cool?" I asked him, holding out a paw. He glanced at the outstretched paw momentarily before smiling and grasping it firmly with his own, completing the hand shake.

"We're cool. Name's Owen, well you already know that but it's the thought that counts right?" He commented.

"I get where you're coming from, Elijah by the way." I replied with a chuckle once again.

"You know, you're a pretty funny guy Owen." I commented as we continued down the hall. A look of genuine surprise crossed his face.

"Really? You think so? I've been interested in doing comedy for a long time, I've just never been that good at it." He replied, expression faltering slightly.

"Well if it means anything you've made me laugh twice in the last 2 minutes, so you're not terrible." I told him.

"I'll just have to work on my tall jokes since it looks like they're the ones that'll help me get higher up in the comedy world." He replied tying a joke into it. I groaned with a laugh at the terrible joke, getting a laugh out of him as well.

"It's good that you laugh at your own jokes, it means you're not afraid to make fun of yourself to make the audience laugh." I told him.

"Really? So if I make a joke about myself that means the crowd is laughing with me not at me right? Cause we're laughing at me? Whatever I'll figure it out." He said.

"I'm sure you'll get it down." I responded before grabbing the door handle to the classroom and pulling it open slightly, trying to stay quiet as to not disturb the lecture.

"Where are your friends at?" He asked me. I scanned the crowd of people and spotted Vinesah's large ears poking out of the group near the front. There was no room however for either of us to sit down there.

"You can sit up here with us if you want." Owen invited me.

"Sure, lead the way." I told him, although our seats were right beside us.

"Here we are!" He announced quietly, getting yet another chuckle out of me as I moved down to the third seat in the row.

"There you are, was getting worried you wouldn't come back you big goof." Owen's feline friend spoke when he slid into the second seat in the row. I couldn't help but stare at the napoleon feline sitting next to my new friend, there were many things that set him apart from other people.

First was the different colored eyes; his left eye was brown and right eye blue. As I traced down his face I took note of the long scar running down his right cheek that was not covered by the poofy gray fur that covered his body. Owen seemed to pick up on my staring as he looked between the two of us.

"Oh sorry! Alex, this is Elijah. Elijah, Alex." He introduced us. I offered a kind wave which Alex returned hesitantly.

"I like your eyes." I attempted a jab at kindness. He ran a paw through his short black hair quickly, before looking away.

"Thanks." He said quietly. Looking to Owen for guidance he leaned over to me.

"He gets really shy around new people, don't be offended." He said quietly. I nodded in response.

"I'm the same way, hopefully he comes around." I replied.

"He will, don't worry." He added with a wink. I gazed confusedly for a moment at him before shaking the thought from my head, refocusing on the lecture. Just as last time it was a basic review of everything I basically knew already, so I sighed deeply tossing my pencil down to stare blankly ahead. Owen next to me however was scrambling to jot down notes, huffing when the professor changed the slide too quickly.

"You don't have to right down everything you know." I told him. He didn't look away from the screen, but answered nonetheless. "I kind of have to, coach said I was done if I didn't get my grade up." He replied.

"Coach? What sport do you play?" I asked him, although I had a feeling what his answer would be.

"Football, been playing since I was just a wee pup." He replied with a small smile, still never looking away from the lecture.

"Too bad about your kicker." I commented, knowing Jasper was likely breaking the news to the coach right now.

"Yeah, coach said something about this new guy who had a hell of a leg though." He replied, confirming my thoughts.

"Yeah... about that." I said quietly. I explained to him that Jasper and I were good friends, leaving out the relationship part making up an excuse for why he couldn't do it.

"Oh... well I guess school and personal life come first, y'know?" He said in response, taking it a lot better than I thought he would. He certainly did not meet the meat-head stereotype most football players were categorized by, drawing a small smile out of me at the thought.

"Yeah, I know." I told him, smile still tugging at my muzzle. We both exchanged numbers in case we ever wanted to hang out sometime, and once the lecture ended we both stayed seated waiting for my friends to come by.

Vinesah was cowered slightly behind Sebastian who was had adopted a gaze of steel at the great dane. Owen's floppy ears dropped as his face displayed full regret for what he'd done.

"Hang on you guys, I think Owen wants to say something." I stopped them before they could walk out. The group stared expectantly at Owen who seemed to cower slightly at all the attention.

"I just wanted to say how sorry I am for tripping you, it was a really rude and mean thing for me to do." The gentle giant apologized. Vinesah peeked slightly out from behind Sebastian who stood his ground in front of her. She seemed to study him for a few moments before nodding.

"Thank you, it's bad to hold in anger like that though, it can lead to rash decisions like the one you made earlier." She commented mysteriously before walking out of the hall. We all exchanged glances before Sebastian and Kylee waved goodbye, following after the chinchilla. Owen's look of shock contrasted everyone else's look of confusion, but I shook it off, waving goodbye to them as well.

I texted Jasper to see what he was doing as I made my way towards the dining hall to grab a bite to eat. He told me that he was on his way back from meeting with the coach and that he would explain over lunch.

"So how did it go?" I asked him once we'd gotten our lunches and found a table. Holding up a finger he swallowed a mouthful of burger before responding.

"Well, he tried to get me to reconsider at first of course to which I had to say no to. But then surprisingly he let me off the hook pretty easy, he did give me his business card if I was ever interested in being the back-up kicker." He said holding up a professional card before stowing it away again.

"Well at least he didn't go crazy or anything." I commented with a chuckle.

"So how has your day been?" He asked thoughtfully.

"Been really odd to be honest. I got into a little altercation with somebody in my chemistry lecture this morning." I told him.

"Who was it? I'll go give them a piece of my mind right now." He commented hot-headedly. I placed my hand on top of his causing him to look at me, and I smiling reassuringly.

"You didn't let me finish." I told him.

"Sorry, please continue." He apologized.

"I got into an altercation and the professor sent us to the Dean's office." I continued. His jaw dropped at that.

"YOU, Elijah Moore, straight A student in high school with honors, got sent to the Dean of Sciences office?" He asked incredulously.

"Yup, and let me tell you, she is terrifying. She just has this icy calm that gives you chills. But anyways, we got sent to the Dean's office and she had us both explain what happened." I continued the story.

"Wait what did happen? You skipped that part." He informed me. I backtracked slightly, rubbing my head sheepishly when I realized he was right.

"Hehe, whoops. Well I was running back and forth between Vinesah, one of my lab members, and Sebastian who was sitting in the front of the classroom. Well I had to keep shuffling passed Owen, the guy I got into it with, and his friend Alex because they were in the first couple seats of the row. Well I guess Owen had had enough because as we were passing by them to go down to sit with Sebastian he tripped Vinesah. Of course I defended her and called him out on it. Well, turns out he's actually a really nice guy and he plays for the football team, and he apologized once the Dean let us go. We're friends now so it's all cool." I purposefully left out the part where he pushed me in fear that it would send Jasper over the edge, wrapping up the story.

"Well that's good, at least he apologized." He commented.

I nodded, "So what do you wanna do now?" I asked him.

"Well, I wanna just take you back to the room and cuddle for the rest of the day, but I have class here in a bit." He teased, rubbing his nose against mine. "Aww no fair, maybe after class then?" I asked hopefully, giving my best puppy eyes face. He couldn't suppress a "d'aww" at that. "Definitely, I'll see you after class then?" He exclaimed, his tail wagging behind him.

"Sure thing wolfie, I'll see you then." I told him. We deposited our trays in the dish drop-off before exiting the dining hall, but not without a hug and a kiss for good measure.

"I'll be waiting..." I whispered in his ear before walking away from him, making sure to add a slight sway to my hips as I left. He stared dumbfounded with a goofy grin before he too turned and started in the direction of his class.

Sighing contentedly, I made my way back to the dorm room where I decided to lay down for a nap to pass the time and I couldn't help but smile in my sleep at dreams full of my wolf.

And I'll leave you all with that for now so hopefully you will dream of sexy wolves tonight as well! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas, I still have one more to go, and if I decide to post a chapter over the break I'll try to put a journal out to let you guys know. If not, I'll see you all next Saturday for In My Time of Need! Bye! ^_^
