Human "Why isn't this starting a fire?" "Arrgh!" Angry, I throw the rocks at a nearby tree. Then I look over at Grace. She looks pretty happy for some reason. I wonder why. I would also probably be happy if I just knew who I was. *growl* Startled, I look over at Grace, wondering if I had done something wrong, but she was still eating the wild boar carcass. Then I realized it was my stomach that was growling. "Well, I guess one little taste wouldn't hurt me..." I proceed to pick off bits from the part of the animal Grace hadn't eaten. It tastes surprisingly good. It must be because I'm so hungry. Maybe just a little more...

Then, before I know it, the entire carcass has been picked clean. I look over at Grace, and see her sleeping. "Heh, must have went into a food coma." I tickle her nose and then she covers it with her paws. It's a simple defensive gesture, but it startles me. I jump up, thinking she is about to attack me. When I realize that nothing is going to happen, and that I can still trust her, I sit back down. I still need to find out who I am. I also realize that this is completely crazy. A wolf-human hybrid? Who's heard of that? Where am I from, anyways? Maybe I just landed in a parallel universe where wolves evolved and became the dominant species. My head starts to hurt. Not sure if it's from a concussion or because I'm thinking too deep. Either way, the tryptophan and the headache start to get to me, and I collapse onto the forest floor.

Chapter 2: Magnamia

Mana Scout "Now, if I were a mana crystal, where would I hide...?" As I'm walking, my foot hits something. I look down, and see an unusual sight... A wolf-girl and a teenage boy, both sleeping, lying down next to a wild boar carcass that's been picked clean. I'd never seen the wolfgirl, but the boy looks familiar. As I think about where I know him from, it comes to me. "Could it really be..." It seems to be the famous mage Edward Kaizo! I realize that I have to tell General Pratchett that he's still alive, so I run towards Magnamia, neglecting to bring Edward with me.

Grace Is it morning already? First, I stretch, then I get up. I look to my right, and for a second I don't know where this human came from, but then I remember that we were going to the human town. I wonder why he needs me, though. I walk over, and shove his face with my paw. When that doesn't work, I cover his nose and mouth. After a couple seconds, he wakes up, confused and hungry for air. "What'd you do that for?" says the human. "We should probably set off, it's morning." I say. "Really?" he says. "Hm." "Okay, but first I need to get some more water. You should also get some." "Sounds good." I say, as I follow him down to the river.
